Bluetooth Issue... - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Speaking to my sister yesterday she has an O2 sony Xperia Z2 she's had on an upgrade and it keeps rebooting and resetting itself and won't connect to her car's bluetooth, she's a bit miffed because she's now passed the 2wk return the handset option so she's gotta keep the phone, its running android 4.2.2.
I have a HTC and root and run custom roms but not familiar with Sony at all, thinking about looking into it and rooting her phone for her if it might help with the issue's she has, is it fairly easy ?
And does anyone know if the bluetooth thing is fairly common issue ? and can be rectified with a custom rom...
Cheers

[Q] Sony Tablet worst Experience :: Got replaced piece, but same again :-(

I own Sony Tablet S since last 90 days but has a lot of problems, it has been at the service station due to its issues for more than 45 days.
The features/functions included are really nice, but the company doesn't care for the customers.
I called and mailed the Customer Care for more than 20 times, but didn't got a revert even once.
I somehow got a replacement, but the same issues were there in that one too.
If not wrong, I got the promises from the Customer Care around 20 times to revert back, but just got 1 revert back.
The major issues I am facing are
1. Wi-Fi disconnects regularly
2. Wi-Fi doesn't have proper range which you can even see in the youtube link as follows:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FRb855gBMo
3. The device hangs a lot when loaded, stops responding for a long time and the only solution remains is to Restart/Shutdown
4. The screen doesn't get unlocked many a times even upto 30 seconds after pressing the unlock button.
5. GPS connectivity issue: Connection to GPS only remains if you stay at a place, not if you move anywhere from a particular place.
BUT THE WORST problem I am facing is the WORST COMPANY SERVICE.
The stupids don't just know any status of the problems most of the times.
They promise to call/revert back, but I didn't get any reverts of my e-mails from the 13th of April 2012. I can't understand why is this happening to me ???
Any1 facing any of these issues ???
Please provide me reverts unlike SONY
I have the same problems 3 & 4 as you. And most probably caused by the WiFi connection.
I have sent in my Tablet for repair cause after a month of usage - the battery cannot be charged.
Hopefully the ICS update will solve these few problems.
I'm from Singapore and Sony after-sales service sucks all around the world except USA, Japan & maybe UK. That's where all their customers are at. =)
Sorry to hear you're having problems.
If you've had the same wifi issues with 2 tablets then it's unlikely to be a hardware problem and more likely to be a compatibility or settings issue between your router & tablet.
I'd try connecting to another router or network or if this is not possible look at temporarily removing security and possibly changing channel settings on your router. There are other threads here which discuss some wifi issues. Make sure your router has the latest firmware installed and do make sure you've updated to the latest version of Android for your region as this has been known to help
Wifi will disconnect when the tablet goes to sleep but should connect again within 10 secs or so of waking up Unless you download an extra app which forces constant connection.
With respect to the laggyness and crashing what apps do you have installed? I'd be tempted to point the finger there first before blaming the tablet, might be worth going through them and seeing if you can narrow it down to a dodgy app or one that doesn't like the Sony much. Certainly like above get the latest android.
I hope the issues get sorted swiftly for you.

Wifi is a known unsolved issue the rest is not really nmormal, but why don't you try to contact sony vaio service wich contains tablet s also
Agreed with James. If two tablets have WiFi problems, it's almost guaranteed that is a problem with your network environment, not with the Tablet. I have never had a problem with the WiFi and it always reconnects easily.
Also +1 for the app suspicions. Most of those issues sounds like they could be coming from an app (particularly 3 and 4), so try factory resetting your device then installing apps slowly one-at-a-time, waiting about 24 hours between installs to see if any apps cause this behaviour to return.
As for replies from customer service, I can't help you there since Sony replied to my only support Q within three days of my message. Make sure you have the right address, and then try Vaio Service.

Thanks for reply dude, but you'll really be amazed to know that
My router doesn't have any issue, it has been upgraded to the latest firmware.
To add I connect the same router with 2 Nokia E6-00, Nokia N8-00, Nokia E63, 2 Sony Vaio Laptops, 2 PC with a linksys usb modem, Samsung Galaxy S, Nokia E71, Lenovo Laptop, Samsung Galaxy Note, Sony Walkman Live, a lot Iphones of my customers get connected to it, a lot ipads get connected to it and none of them have problems, why this is the only 1 ???
About softwares, again a shock this is a problem when my Tablet was just opened from the box even, it is still there and I guess will remain forever, and if you guys don't know, just check the youtube link I provided, it explains a lot.
Anyways thanks for the help
And even I use 4 Sony Vaio Laptops and always suggest Sony to my friends and relatives, but this time I faced the worst cause they promised me to revert back almost 20 times, but I got a revert only once. What the f**k
Guys please reply if any of you are facing the same problem or not ???

Downgrading / Rooting Z2 DD6503 Unlocked Bootloader to solve Microphone issue. Help..

Hi,
Sony Xperia z2 D6503.
Bootloader: Unlocked.
Root: NOT rooted.
The device has a microphone issue. When talking on headset (not speaker) the other side hardly hears a word / does not hear at all. When phone is supported by the shoulder, the other side says the voice is "broken" (if he manages to hear).
This issue was for quite some time, only now the phone came to me. It is a phone who the owner purchased as a "Grade A used phone". The phone has no warranty.
The past few month, the phone had 23.1.A.0.726 (UK version).
Yestorday:
I've flashed via "emma tool" 23.1.A.1.28 - Microphone issue is still there.
I've flashed via "FlashTool" 23.4.A.1.264 (UK version) - Microphone issue is still there.
[Yes, Iv'e tried the "Noice Cancelling Suppression" option]
I am not sure how to root the phone because bootlader is unlocked. There is no data on the phone, so I don't care for any data loss.
I still hope there will be a way to solve the issue via software like suggested in this thread or here.
Or, a different solution, to flash eXistenZ ROM, mentioned here.
The day-today user os the phone is a ~24 old female. She is a simple user. Calls, tests, plays a few games, IM etc. Nothing special. She loves the battery life and the camera of the device. I believe that she does not really care if the Android version is 4.2 / 4.4 / 5.0.x / 5.1 / 6.x. As long as the device will work properly, she'll be grateful.
I am open to any idea, hopefully, will not need to by a replacement part (I will disassemble the phone myself, but, need to make sure what part I should purchase).
I am aware I am quite a newbie in the Android world. I have flashed many ROOMs on different devices. Used several times flashtool / adb commands (via a PC). But, I have a lot to learn and know I'll have a learning curve with the Xperia Z2.
I would love any input and guidance on how to root the phone. I don't care to downgrade to any version if it is necessary. The eXistenZ ROM is 4.4.x KitKat based on Stock 4.4.4 23.0.1.A.0.167.
How does one downgrade from 5.1 to 4.4? Should I flash the stock *.ftf 4.4 via FlashTool?
Hope the post is clear. Sorry for my English....
Thanks!
Have you tried setting microphone gain to high? Otherwise it's a hardware issue, or your microphone is blocked with dirt...
Sent from my D6503 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Tnx for your reply.
Where do I change the microphone gain? Tried googling it, but, no success.
The past few hours, I finally managed to flash eXistenZ ROM (after soft bricking the phone and other fun stuff).
The phone is rooted now (with eXistenZ ROM).
The past few days I googled and googled. Read a lot, but... still stuck :/
The mic issue seems to be a little bit better, but, far from ideal.
I have no idea what are the optimized settings with this ROM.
If any member has this ROM due to the mic issue, I would love some advice.
Feeling like I'm grasping at straws.
~~~~~
As for hardware issue -
1. My understanding is that the mic is located on the bottom-base of the phone (not under the screen).
2. What do you mean by dirt? should I disassemble the phone and clean it out? (I don't care to open it myself. I have a history of replacing phone parts. I'm not a professional, but, find my way... [a few iPhones, Nexus 5, a few Samsung devices and more).
3. If I'll need to replace the microphone, I'll purchase the part from AliExpress (I don't live in Europe or North America). I am not sure if this part or maybe this.
False alarm... My bad, I thought you didn't try the noise suppression trick.
Moto Z Droid Bluetooth problem
Hello everyone!
Bluetooth on my Moto Z not working ( it's seems to start, but didn't see no one around, my pc by Bluetooth also didn't see moto Z.
Mac adrees in settings prefixes. Just phone did not see no one around (
What that may be? No big deal, but very offensively(
Same for me, bluetooth is dead and it seem a commun issue with the Moto Z. I've tried to flash stock ROM, custom firmware etc... and bluetooth won't detect anything and I cannot detect the phone. It seem I will need to send the device back for warranty.
Sad (
I don't want send it back(
OK, looks like Bluetooth not for me.
Hi
I have the same problem Motorola doesn't have any idea what happen with this problems
Regards
Hi,
i have the same issue. I just bought this terminal and it had never discovered any bluetooth accessory (speaker, pc, car, etc...).
the actions below were done :
- location, scanning, bluetooth scanning off
- deleted cache swipe
- factory reset
If any person have an idea, it will be really appreciated.
thanks.
People says that it's mostly software problem. Maybe another firmware will sold this problem.
I hope so))
Its a bit disappointing when I cant rely on reliable bluetooth scanning and connection with my Moto Z... If it was a motomods teething issue or similar, it would be more forgiving.
So I've sent the device back to my carrier 2 week ago and they've sent it to motorola for repair because I had bluetooth issue. Today, I've just received back my device repaired and the bluetooth is working perfectly now.
They have changed my main board and 3 stickers (to hold the battery I think). Also my bootloader was unlocked, I had to relock it and they still repaired my device
I solved the Bluetooth problems going to Settings / Beckup & reset / Network settings reset.
Reset didn't help for me (
Hi,
I have had the battery drain on stand by due to mobile network, but the latest official update (Oreo for Customized FR) solved it.
But I have another weird issue (Since the beginning) with photo addon... I am not able to add AR effect, the "+" button is not there so I have to live with the ones who came originally (dinosaurs and Fiesta things).
My wife is having the XZ and everything is fine... Grrr... Tried also many factory reset and repair via Sony tool on PC but none of them solved my issue.
I am partiently Waiting the Pie update to check if it corrects it.
