I have the little flip case right now, but it doesn't provide much protection. What would be a good flip case for my note?

Somebody else posted this in the other flip case thread, might be of interest to you. The front of the flip cover seems to be exactly the same, but the back of it is an actual case that will protect your Note more.

I don't think that one will fit the AT&T version. Someone else might have to verify that, but it says it's made for the International version.

I bet it does fit, as im pretty sure the discrepancy in size was probably an error in either measurement or conversion between metric and standard units. Every case people have bought for an international note so far has fit the at&t one, even the zenus capsule case, which is hard plastic.
The only things that do not work are replacement battery covers due to the difference in the location of the tabs, which what i linked to is not a battery cover.

I ordered one in red as soon as it gets here (which may be a while) I will verify if it fits the American version
just an update im still waiting in this case It has been over 4 weeks now and still no case
Finally got the case it does fit the American version
I've got this one on the way, http://kevikev.com/Yoobao-Executive-Leather-Case-Folio-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-LCSamNoteE.htm. I know someone that got it and he really likes it.
I ordered this one... hopefully I will like it.

I ordered this one, and while it's a bit expensive, it looks, feels, and is really nice.

I got my wife the tridea case from ebay, its pretty nice and offers better protection than most flip cases around the sides.
I got this case on amazon. Its the Khomo Executive flip case and I can honestly say that it's by far the worst case that you could spend (little) money on. it offers almost no protection aside from the soft felt stickers on the inside. its made from really cheap hard plastic and only snaps around the edges. after putting the phone in it the for the first time, i set it on a white painted bookshelf. it immediately took white paint transfer barely sliding it across the shelf. Im sure if i left phone in there much longer it would have transferred black scratches to my white Note. It barely closes shut and front flip overlaps the edges too far. Worst of all in the design of this is that it covers the volume key. One drop in this case would probably crack the plastic edges and break the phone. Ultimate fail case!!!

Was that meant to be helpful? There isn't always a correlation between price and quality. Most of us look for good quality at a good price.
I think the case looks nice. It's a shame it is so cheap and unuseful.

That's exactly what I was going for...good quality for a good price. It looked like what I wanted. And that would be a slim tough flip case that could handle a drop or fall and protect my phone. Sadly, this wasn't it, I'll keep trying to find it. I've got a quality case which is my daily but would like a flip style w/o the bulk.

Have you looked at the cases here, http://kevikev.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-Cases-Batteries-Accessories_c24.htm. I just got one of each and will be doing a review. I can tell you they seem to be nice quality at a reasonble price. Shipping is fast. And the look is great.

looks nice! Executive and slim?
I know leather would be more scratch resistant but I've always felt the otterbox plastic/rubber was more drop proof!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
Yeah. The Executive is all leather. Gives good protection but not as stiff.
The Slim has a hard shell and leather overlay. Better protection but more stiff. The Otterbox is excellent protection but more bulk. Depends on what you are looking for.

Exactly! otterbox should make a flipcase. And a slim one at that. Let us know what you think of these. I might have to forgo plastic for leather. If the slim leather fits well with nice corner protection, I'll be buying next.
I know there is a lot of people trying to find a case they like. We are learning the nexus 6 glass breaks easily if you drop it, so you better get something heavy duty. My personal favorite case so far is the moko, it has a lot of grip so you won't drop, but the protection is not the best. Right now I'm using the iblason as it provides excellent protection and it's not to bulky. The supcase provides ultimate protection but is bulky as hell. Much more bulky then the cases mentioned aboved. See the photos below and let me know if you have any questions.

I have the I blason and the supcase on the way so I'll let you know what I think when they come in.. I do feel like they are both going to be bulky and if that's the case why not go with the more protection? We'll see!

They are both very very very well built cases. For the price you can't be either of them, I can't understand how otterbox charges $50 for the same protection value as the cheaper $10 cases.
It all stems from the iPhone. They made the first really protective case for the iPhone and it was sold in big box stores as well as mobile carriers. They charge an arm and a leg while we get our cases straight from manufacturers or online store with less of a markup.
which has more grip between supcase and iblason? I have the moko too. I dont have my phone yet (maybe tomorrow or monday for sure)!
oh yeah and which between those shows less fingerprints on the screen protectors?
EDIT: WOW the i blason costs 5$ on amazon.com and 14$ + 5 shipping on amazon.ca lolol
I-Blason
The I-Blason is the fourth case I've gotten and I put it on today. I think it's going to stay because it looks like it would do the best job of protection. It kind of makes me feel like I'm a Navy Seal going on a mission.
Mmm. Beggin' strips!
The Moko is the worst $1.95 I ever spent! lol
I used it for two days and I couldn't stand it. It feels like it won't protect much, and the rubber part is just too mushy and loose. It's sitting here on my desk, and just looking at it makes me hate it even more. I would give it away for free, but I wouldn't want to do that to anyone. Ruin a $700 phone for a $2 case.
IIRC, the Supcase comes with a belt holster.. Is it any good? Any pics?

But that's the reason why! LOL. I thought this was going to be such an awesome case, and only $1.95 with Prime shipping! But now, it's just another cheap-o $2 case Thats nearly FOUR apple pies at McDonalds!

You didn't really expect something that cost $2 to be awesome did you? OK, maybe you did...
Do you have a dog? Could possibly make for a nice chew toy. Then again, made in China... might kill him. But so could those four McDonald's apple pies...

McDonald's may be bad for your health, but you have to admit, everything there is pretty much freakin delicious. Everything that tastes good is bad for you. So vice versa, the Moko case tastes bad, it must be good for my phone!
Just wanted to update everyone here. I have both the Moko and i-BLASON cases. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, I will NOT use the Moko case. Like many others have described the rubber like TPU is flimsy and the case itself does not feel very protective. The i-BLASON on the other hand is very sturdy, fits extremely well. Don't get me wrong, for the price of 2$, the Moko case cannot be beat. However, I would not use it for any amount of protection. I will say this though, I like the holster (belt clip) better on the Moko than the i-BLASON. Since both cases are extremely similar in size, I use the Moko belt clip with the i-BLASON case for everyday use.
FYI both Moko and the i-BLASON case work great on the TYLT vu qi charger.

Nice case, doesn't add too much bulk; they have a few different colors to buy. It's a definite win, personally I think this beats the Urban Armor Gear case.

From what I can tell the sides are open exposed? Not clear plastic see thru?
Looks like a decent case but I like the UAG better. I might pick it up. Thanks for the review.
Doesn't seem like much interest in this case, have any of you been using this? I like the uag but this definitely looks nicer, so if it protects as well as uag I might get it.

I prefer it over the UAG personally, I've stopped using UAG case for this one!
Nice review mate. Not loving the frosted back though. Much prefer those fusion type cases with a crystal clear back.
Spigen, Orzly and I think it's ringke do some pretty cool ones.

It's funny, the frosted back is the reason I think I like this case, it won't scratch as easily.

Hmmmm true, with those crystal clear backs, there's the chance that if it does scratch it'll be clearly visible.
I just got mine today and I like how it looks and all but the buttons are very sensitive ....very annoying.
Not sure if I got a defective case or are they just all like that ?
Nice review ?
Nice case, clean and practical would be!yet the package is poor, this make it seems like a entry-level one.
Anyone have this? http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mo...-ef-mg950cbegww/?CID=AFL-hq-mul-0813-11000946
Besides feeling it looks ugly (my own opinion there...) I thought it was rubber-like material, but it appears in this video (not english) to be just plastic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=46&v=p8EyE3lcA4c
Read this:
Samsung's Two Piece case is actually kind of perfect https://www.androidcentral.com/samsungs-2piece-case-actually-kind-perfect
I have one. I like being naked too much though, so I took it off after a day. Oh and it's plastic, but it feels soft. Like the Nintendo Switch controllers, if you've felt that plastic.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS8/comments/6b2oim/samsung_gave_me_a_50_credit_to_spend_so_i/
I never use cases, as I find them all to be eyesores, but I was curious about this one due to it's minimal nature. I've been using it for 2 days, and it's actually not that bad. It's actually not a hard plastic. It's more like a rubber-type material. It's also not the most esthetically pleasing thing I've ever seen, but unless you look at it from the back it's barely noticeable. I'm not sure it provides much protection against a drop, but it prevents the phone from sliding on a slippery surface. As a bonus, as was previously observed it does serve as a nice guide for the fingerprint reader. Overall, I'd say I'm satisfied with it.

Couldn't agree more. In the ocean off case choices this one is the last option
Hi:
Has anyone found a reasonably high quality case for the LG X Venture/X Calilbur V9?
I love my X Venture, but I've already tried 3 cases for it. The first case-a MiniTurtle was complete garbage-unusable.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y2KZPD9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The second one, a Spevert, sold on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073XCWJ6P/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
was almost usable, but provided minimal protection, and was also somewhat junky.
The third, a Zizo Bolt, looked to be quite well-made in many ways, and provides good protection. However, the buttons are inline or even slightly recessed from the edge of the case, and also stiff. That makes them extremely difficult to press. The case is also a little too slippery in the hand.
Does anyone know of a quality case for the X Venture? I'd prefer all TPU for grip, but two layers would be fine.
I'm using an Incipio NGP case and I really like it. I wish it was clear because I really like the design of the X venture and I would prefer not to hide it, but the case does give a nice extra layer of protection and I really like how it makes the buttons feel (the buttons on my phone require barely any force to press, which I really don't like. The case provides a little bit of extra stiffness so it makes the buttons feel a lot better. Definitely not too stiff though). It's also pretty grippy, but not quite as grippy as the bare back of the phone in my opinion.
I also tried a Speck clear case and I really didn't like it. It made the buttons feel awful and the material that it's made of - I didn't like how it felt in the hand and it's also totally smooth so it has much less grip than the bare back of the phone.
Thanks Rich. Is it fairly thick as cases go, thin, or somewhere in between?
Rich:
Thanks. Compared with other cases, is it thick, thin, or somewhere in between? Any chance you could measure its thickness? It's made of TPU, right?

It's decently thick, a little bit more than I expected, and it feels very sturdy. It's not one of those cheap thin cases. If I had to guess I would say it's somewhere around 1.5mm thick. I don't know if it's made out of TPU but the website says it's made out of a polymer material. It's flexible but still feels very sturdy.
I don't know if this will help at all but I took a picture of the back camera cutout so you can kinda get an idea of how thick the case is: https://i.imgur.com/BdDx5zo.jpg Like I mentioned before, to me it looks like maybe 1 - 1.5mm.
Rich:
Thanks again. I know what you mean-the X Venture is elegant looking, isn't it.
Mmmm..that looks like more than 1.5mm to me, but it's hard to tell. The other thing I really was hoping for was a belt clip, which the Incipio doesn't have. I will consider getting one anyways, though. I can use it on my second LG X Venture. I like the phone so much I bought a second one as a backup.
I'm emailed Armor-X to see if they have a case to fit the Venture. Why is this so hard?

Oh, if you're interested in one with a belt clip Pelican makes a heavy-duty case that comes with a belt clip I believe: http://www.pelican.com/us/en/product/phone-and-tablet-cases/lg-case/voyager/c31030 (a little bit too big for me)
Unfortunately it's not a super popular phone so our case options are a bit limited compared to, say, a flagship. Plus, it is a rugged phone so it does have some pretty good protection by itself.
