Hello guys, any help would be appreciated.
My note 3 is rooted on the stock rom. I hadn't changed anything or installed anything new. I cut my phone on and I get that message. I'm unable to run any apps and the message shows up immediately after cutting the phone on. My status bar isn't visible either.
Do I have any options? Since the phones unusable, I can't factory reset. I've tried different batteries and taking out my memory card. The phone literally soft bricked itself overnight.

Running Odin, reflash the tar for the firmware you're running.
If you can get into a custom recovery, you can always push system ui back to system, priv-app via the file manager built into TWRP.
Such behavior is common, especially if running conflicting Xposed modules.

Thank you but what if I don't have TWRP? As for reflashing the tar, I'm not using anything custom. All I have is a full (non rooted) restore file and the file I used to root it with Odin. Would I need to flash one of those, and if I do, would I lose data?

If you flashed the stock tar, then yes, you'll lose data and root, but the items in your internal storage will be left intact (pictures, music, documents, etc).
Since you're rooted, if you are able to get into system, then you could download titanium backup to save your call logs, mms, sms, etc, then flash the stock tar again.
Short of that, you could flash recovery, which will trip Knox if the root method you used did not, or, flash the stock tar again and move on.

Ok. I restored and the phone worked again. But when I tried to update xposed, the phone did the same thing again. Is there anyway to use exposed without this happening again?

I have a Sprint SGS 3 rooted with build ALF9 model SPH-L710 in USA.
There is an update it wants me to install.
Will I lose root? If so, can I just go back to my clockwork recovery and restore it?
Or is it easy just to root it again the same way as before?
Thanks

Chances are you are going to lose root.
Can I just re-root it the old way (odin/clockwork I think), or will there be some protection
or need to find a newer root method?
Look here and read it good(to achieve update and root with new firmware and baseband)....:thumbup:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28612771
Also you can achieve the same goal( update and retain root)here too:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28597495
Proofs in the pudding(running custom rom with new baseband and updated build)

It won't install the upgrade rom.zip gives me an error
7 something and fails. Guess I have to wait for the
Sprint stock rom to be posted and then flash it,
then re-root or wait for a posted stock rom w/root
to flash from clockwork recovery?
CWM
you wont be able to install the update with clockwork as your recovery
Imma pm you in a minute and get you right just wait and ill let you know.....and you can flash through cwm ive done it twice...Did you make a nandroid of your stock rooted?

if you loose root, just re-root
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoEVDgjTTdg&list=UUbR6jJpva9VIIAHTse4C3hw&index=5&feature=plcp
I unrooted, tried OTA and says none (which there was),
re-rooted again with newest rom manager and clockwork,
still can't flash the update. Guess I don't really need it
(what does it even do, I don't use wallet or dropbox).
But it would be nice to be able to flash updates in the future
without wiping anything.

I don't want to flash the original nandroid, as I would lose 100's of apps, saves, settings
that I do not want to take HOURS to fix. Will this method keep all my settings, saves, widgets, etc?
If not, don't I just wait for a rooted updated sprint rom all baked and flash it over mine so I don't lose
a thing? Also the link in #2 doesn't work, what file was it, I might already have it.
P.S. Still don't know what oxeded is or deoxed
Hi
So I was running the latest JB leak. However after few hours I was unable to send any msg or call to anyone.
So I thought it might be a ROM issue so I thought of going back to ICS stock again.
So I did this:

, but my phone got stuck in NAND write. After a long time I disconnected it and now I can't go to Recovery MOde either.
I can only go to download more.
Can My phone be saved?
It doesn't usually say 'get pit for mapping' so maybe you need the .pit file
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Actually, it does normally say "get pit for mapping," (even without a pit file) but it goes by quickly on a normal, successful flash.
1. Try a different usb port.
2. Different usb cable.
3. Different computer.
4. With pitfile. I dont know which is correct.

Hi
I tried to re install it, but this time I launched with Administrative rights.
It worked
Atleast my phone is now starting.
However I can't make any calls, but I can get calls and smses.
Moreover I can also use mobile data.
I don't know if it was because I flashed the latest leak or it's just a network issue.
Can my efs folder be corrupt?
You have soft bricked it

I installed the Latest JB leak. It was all fine , but after few hours I was unable to make any calls or do any msgs.
I was initially, but then I tried to install the Note 2 Gallery and wiped cache and dalvik partition.
After that I couldn't even check balance.
However I could get incoming calls and messages.Even after that.
Could the flash have ruined something?
I have now reverted back to stock ICS and wiped the user data.
BUt I'm still unable to call .
What could be the reason?
Help!
Just a network issue or has the flashed ruined something inside my efs folder/

Check in settings->info->status and look for imei.. If It is still there all should be ok and It could be a modem related problem and for solving that you should try to factory reset the Phone and then flash the cwm zip of the modem You need..

Won't it mess up anything if it's a different CSC?Also, considering CM10.1 is android 4.2, how would you go about restoring to stock since the sdcard pathways and some others are different?I think of going this way
Go to download mode, flash stock ROM, go to recovery, wipe user data and cache, and try to start the phone now.Is this good?
Format data sdcard system cache and preload ,then install stock rom .

If you flash a full stock Rom with Odin you'll downgrade to stock recovery.
I see.I forgot to mention, I also have a backup made by CWM from the stockrom, but it's in a different location now because it's been moved by installing 4.2.I have PhilZ touch recovery already installed on it.Is it also possible to restore from CWM(after wiping the beforementioned partitions, ofcourse)?
i'm just afraid to use download mode as I already have the faulty eMMC's and using DL mode triggers that.Or, getting stuck on NAND write start.
You can only flash stock roms via download mode, so its a risk you have to take. You can't use Philz or CWM to flash.
What ROM were you on when you first rooted?
I was on the stock 4.1.2 android and I still have a backup from it but like I said its now moved to the sdcard/0 path.I'm still on CM now and I have philz recovery atm.So is it possible to restore it like that?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
If you were on stock 4.1.2 before root, you have a safe bootloader so you can use odin.
Sure you cab restore nandroid backups from recovery. That's the whole point of them.
It depends WHY you want to restore though. It's rooted and won't restore recovery so it doesn't restore warranty status. Its pretty pointless. Infact its entirely pointless. like I said, depends what you want. There is only 1 way yo restore it 100% stock, as previously mentioned

I appreciate your effort in order to explain that to me, so thank you for that.I know that when it dies it's dead for good, and I don't think they will be able to detect the software that was on it, so I have just put ARHD on it, I know it since the old days on Desire HD(which i still own), it runs great, both on the DHD and on this now. Thanks for your troubles, but I'm sure to return to 100% stock whenever now that I know this info.Thank you all!

Put the .tar file on SD card.
Open Mobile Odin pro.
Scroll down to open file. Press it.

Now that your Verizon Galaxy Note 3 bootloader is unlocked is time to flash some roms. For this you will need TWRP. A simple way to obtain the latest and stay up to date with a couple clicks is TWRP with Flashify. You will not need Odin or a PC at all to do this.
STEP 1:
Download flashify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify

STEP 2:
Open the app and give it root access permissions when your Super User app prompts you with the regular pop-up.

STEP 6:
Flash roms till you pass out lol. Don't forget to backup your files.

USING TWRP:
*****Yes- Jasmine Rom 6.1 can be flashed with twrp*****
When you flash your first rom after unlocking your bootloader and flashing twrp it's best to start with a clean slate. Make sure you put the rom of your choice on your Micro SD card. Wiping everything ensures that you have as few errors as possible. When flashing completely new roms this is also advised to avoid any errors.

When I installed TWRP using Flashify with this method and rebooted to recovery, it told me that "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help." It would not boot back into the phone - I had to go into download mode, and use Odin to reinstall the N900VVRUEOF1_PartialFirmware.tar.md5, so I could put the stock recovery back on.
Is there a way to install TWRP without triggering this Verizon security screen?
