earbuds with iOS remote... - G3 Accessories

Does anyone have a set of ear buds with a iOS remote on them that they can plug into the G3 and see if the remote works. I have read that some android phones, including a few made by LG are compatible with the iOS remote. Anyone care try it out for me?
My wife gets killer discounts on AKG products. They make a pair of reference class ear buds (K3003i) that retail for over $1000. I can get them for....well, I can get them really cheap, however the only model I can get is the iOS model. I don't want to spend the money though if they will not work. They say that you can get a adapter to go from 4 pole to 3 pole male 3.5mm plug, but do the buttons still work?

the play pause works using my stock iP4 headphones with my G3 and S4 but the volume up/down and double clicks ect do not.

I have Bose freestyle ear buds and the volume rockers don't work in android, but the play/ pause button does. It also bring up google now. IOS remotes use a different resistor combination so that's why the volume rockers don't work.

Thanks for the info....
It'd be nice if I could get all the buttons to work properly. They sell a version that works with android, but for some reason, that version is not offered on her employee discount webpage. I've seen that the control can be taken apart and different resistors soldered in, but I'm really not fond of the idea of peeling apart a pair of $1300 ear buds, whether I paid a fraction of what they cost or not.

Klipsch S4i - iPhone headphones with remote - Compatible?

I am thinking about buying a pair of Klipsch Image S4i headphones. They have a small 3 button built in remote that allows you to lower and raise the volue, and a middle button which allows you to (ANSWER/PLAY/PAUSE/SKIP+/SKIP-) and it also has a built in mic.
I have heard that iphone headphones are compatible with the blackstone, and I am pretty sure that the middle button will work, with the use of a small app that does stuff like hold for 2 seconds to pause, 2 fast clicks to skip a track and so on.
However, I wonder if the volume+ and volume- would also work.
Any ideas?

Interesting...
But abit too pricey imho.
Not for me
I bought some cheapo wired iPod phones/mic combo. They worked in terms of the fitting and mic, but the buttons didn't...might be worth checking with the manufacturer...Seem good though!

looking for in ear headphones with mic

Hi, so by reading the title, you should probably have an idea of what I'm looking for, if not, I'm looking for headphones with in-ear buds that also has a mic that goes along with it. I've been looking but I've never found one.
Do you guys have one like that? I need a working microphone, I know it's probably not a big deal if you use your headphones for strictly music, but I just like to have one in case my hands are busy
I would check ebay or amazon, I have one for my G1, but it uses 2.5mm instead of the standard size.
Skullcandy Ink'd is exactly what I think you are looking for. Great sound, 3 different sizes of ear gels for the buds, inline mic, and several colors to chose from. Can pick them up for around $20 I think.

I'll second the Skullcandy headset. Make sure the say mic on the package though. Great sound and the microphone picks up realy well.
Alright, I'll try and go pick up one of the skull candy's this week then. How long have you guys had yours?

I've had mine going on a month now, use them about 6 hours a day at work. Depending on the rom you are on, the button on the mic will pause/resume music play.
About three or four months at least, and I do not treat them kindly. They have been great.
my fiances IPHONE headset works fine
If u have like $60 to spend on headphones I believe V-Moda has a nice pair w/ a built-in mic. I have 2 pairs w/o the mic & they are pretty good quality.

I like skullcandy inkd but I think I wanna invest more in the skullcandy full metal jacket. They've got the braided cabling for better durability.
I bought these from New Egg for $13 on a Shell Shocker: MEELECTRONICS M6P-BK
The mic is also a button, it plays & stops music, answers, etc, came with several different sized ear buds. They're great, use them jogging, on my motorcycle inside my helmet, probably the most comfortable ones I've used inside a helmet at that.
Then got stuck using them on a 5hr conf call and they're WAY more comfy than my BT headset.
PS, sorry for bringing back an old post, just thought I'd share

Another headphone thread, but with specific needs

Checked out the general section and there are a ton of headphone threads, but I'm looking for something a little different than most of the guys are talking about there. Recommendations on those threads tend to come down to either larger headsets, or in the ear noice-cancelling buds.
What I'm looking for is basically something like the OEM iphone ones for the iphone that will work with the SGS2. I'd prefer an over the ear set, but can deal with simple earbuds as long as they aren't the noise canceling types; can't stand trying to talk on the phone with my ears clogged up! I actually made a pair a few years ago that were just what I wanted; took an extra iphone headset, disassembled the earbuds, and transplanted the mic/cord combo over to a nice set of over the ear headphones that I had. Had to break out the micro tip for my soldering iron, but they looked and worked great. Something like that is what I'm looking for.
So my requirements are:
Non-noise cancelling headset (on top of not wanting to sound muffled to myself when on the phone, I want to use these for walking/biking, and don't want to completely isolate all sound.
Inline mic with call answer switch.
Basic music controls if at all possible.
Decent quality at a minimum. I don't have to have top of the line headphones, but want something better than a $10 pair that you can buy at Wal Mart.
Ordered some inexpensive ones on Amazon that stated that they are OEM HTC Evo 4G phones; got them today, the controls won't work at all and one of the earpieces kept cutting out when I moved the cord at the plug. Beware of them. Found these on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-Active-Corded-Earset-Retail-Packaging-Black/dp/B0049SKIDI/ref=sr_1_143?ie=UTF8&qid=1328652715&sr=8-143. They seem to be just about what I'm looking for, and one reviewer states that they tried them out on several Androids and found them to work. Before I ordered them, I thought I'd get some opinions here if anyone is familiar with something along the lines of what I'm looking for.
Im not sure what exactly your price range caps out on, but for 130 bucks, you can get a pair of Bose MIE2i Headphones. They have an inline mice and music controls, certified for ipod/iphone control, but they work fine on my galaxy s 2. They've Lasted way longer than my beats. Got em november 2011, and they still work fine to this day. They have a good stay in ear design, and they dont look half bad.

A bit more than what I was looking at spending, since I really won't use them all that much, but they look promising. "Got em in november 2011, and they still work fine to this day".... hell, I would hope that they would last more than 3 months, LOL. Thanks for the heads up, though. Gonna consider them.
I know Skullcandy hesh have a decent mic with very basic controls but they're bulky. I have their GI and 50/50 right now. I like the GI but they're $80 and too bulky for a headset. Great headphones though.

Hahaha i say that because im terrible with headphones. Every skull candy headset ive owned lasted about 4 weeks on average. My beats solo? 2 weeks before the in line mic gave in, and a few days later one side died on me.

Headphones with Mic for Note

Hello everyone, Need some advice on picking up a pair of headphones that I can use to listen to music and also make calls. Apart from the Klipsch made specifically for Android, is there anything else out on the market? I really wanted the bose but read on a few sites that they dont full function correctly. I have iPhone buds that I can listen to music but the mic does not work but work fine with my Nexus S.
I use these
amazon.com/V-MODA-Noise-Isolating-Headphone-Universal-One-Button/dp/B002XYUHFY/ref=sr_1_12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1330051591&sr=1-12
They work great with my Note.
Thanks, I am looking for standard earbuds not those noise cancellation.
I picked up the skullcandy ones from att , they were 39.99. I know they are probably not great especially for the the price but honestly I like them alot. Decent bass to treble mix and ppl say they hear me very well when I use them.
Sent to you from the NOTE.
I got some Ifrogz in ear headphones that work get at Walmart the other day. They have a Mic and a button that functions like the iphone button. I believe they were $16. The sound is pretty good I think.

they are standard buds not sure why it says noise cancellation. plus noise cancellation would be way more than 30 bucks.
Sorry i am not being clear but i am talking about the non isolator ones. I am looking for something like the standard iphone style not like the in ear ones.

I have a pair of Altec Lansing muzx I believe they are called. Woot sells them from time to time for like 5 bucks. For the price and with the mic, they are solid. Its a braided and coated cable, just wish the 3.5mm was a right angle plug and not a 90° plug that I will surely break in my pocket eventually.

$7.99 apple earphones with mic on ebay from dailysteals
I just tried my Zagg headphones and the paus/play/forward/back button works. I would recommend these headphones if you can find them for cheap, especially since they replace them if they stop working. I don't think they are worth full price.
Tried my Bose AE2 and the play/pause/forward/back button works but not the volume controls.

how do you like those? they look really gimmicky to me.
I am using the one that came with the Samsung Focus (windows phone ). It works great. The mic, volume control, pick up and end call function works too. I actually had a $40 skull candy earbud... but the volume control didn't work. I use it with double twist and when i press the on and off button it plays music using double twist. press twice quickly and it goes to the next track. press 3 times and goes reverse. i <3 OEM

[Q] Replacement Music Control Headphones for Rezound

Can anyone here suggest a reasonably priced (i'm thinking no more than $35, otherwise I'd pay the $99 for Beats) replacement earbud style headphones for the Rezound that has the Foward (fwd) and Reverse (rev) functionality as distinct fwd/rev buttons (not click three times to foward or four times for rewind types that only have one button on them). Having great audio quality isn't that important to me (I've used free ones that sounded just fine to me, as I'm not an audiophile at all), and other features like volume up and down aren't important either.
I loved the Beats headphone that came with it but they got stolen. I loved being able to fast-forward and reverse tracks without having to wake the screen up. In general I haven't had luck with the kinds that have one single button and you hit it a certain number of times or have to long-press the single button.
I tried a pair of Samsung OEM ones that I THINK came with the Galaxy S3, and they seemed to work just fine for fwd/rev. When I'm looking at ones on eBay or Amazon its difficult to tell if they are really the ones I want for that particular feature.

It's funny cuz the beats got stolen.
Monster headphones are they are the ones who made beat, they usually cost around 99,ebay sometimes have deals, also they have gold plated connectors.

cant believe you liked the beats headphones........i sold mine on ebay the day i got the phone.
Its the music controls I liked.
Its not that I thought they were some awesome headphones, its that they had music controls. I listen to my phone 2 hours a day on the train, and skipping forward and back on audio tracks without having to wake the phone was a really nice feature. I just hoped someone could suggest a replacement that had similar music controls. I haven't found replacements (other than replacement Beats) at any price that had the fwd and rev buttons. I found some that have a single button that can long press or multiple press for similar functionality, but I really haven't like any like that.
