i am on a samsung note 2 LTE with 4.3 , i just purchased the gear Fit. and i have been reading about to get the weather working properly you need to be running the Samsung Weather Widget . personally i am on a custom rom. ( TW based) but i use NEXT Launcher. my question is A) Will any weather app installed work with the gear fit since i am on a samsung device?
B) or do i need to go back to STOCK LAUNCHER and use only the ACCUWEATHER Widget app .
C) Does anyone have the Stock Samsung Widget .apk that i can install on my phone to try in my 3rd party launcher? or will it not work?
thanks
You need Daemonweather.apk and AčuWeather2013.apk in your system/apk folder then it works. i had the same problem once.

Here you go. Just remember that App permissions are very important. First time it took me an hour to get everything eorking on a custom N3 TW rom.

Ok heres my issue I cannot seem to find a direct answer. I am running ICS Tmobile ROM (jedi 4)and everything seems to be kewl but for some reason I cannot get s pen to work. I was sent a copy of s memo but s pen has been nothing but a failure. I have tried flashing it, loading over the apk's and all sort of stuff and I cannot figure it out. The program would not load at all, any ideas?

S Memo will not run on that ROM. It is not an ICS Touchwiz based ROM. Try third party apps.
I am sorry I provided the incorrect information. Jedi 4 is a touchwiz based ROM and the application that is in question is not smemo but snote s memo works correctly. The reason why I had chosen that specifically that ROM was for, please don't flame me, touchwiz yeah sure is kinda laggy and bloated but I like it. And in the end that is all that matters correct?

Did you install the driver files associated with S Note?
Clear app cache and app data?
Thank you for the response and yeah I did clear the cache and everything else with all the associated files but it doesn't seem to work .

if you tried to install it twice it would just replace the app with the newest apk or not let you if you done it through the Google play store. also what's app is locked to one phone number

you need to take original apk and mod name or something like that to make it appear as different app, the install...should be simple u just gotta get to know apks

you probably just need to mod the manifest and change the package name
Hi all,
I mistakenly installed the 4.4 KitKat Launcher which updated Google Now, and since I don't have root (and one doesn't appear to exist yet), I'm stuck unless I do a full wipe. Anybody know of where to download the stock Google Now apk for 4.3? I'd rather not wipe over this one small issue, but maybe I'll have to. Thanks in advance.
I don't know where on xda to find one, but you can just download 'team blackout updater' from the play store and download one of themed Google now apk's they offer.
But if you're problem with the 4.4 Google now is just the force closing, all you have to do is switch the language to something else then switch back to fix it.

Hah, nevermind. Just discovered the Uninstall Updates button. Reverted back to stock app and it's fine now.
That would also work yes

Ok so everyone knows that you should be able to install .apk if you set to allow. I'm able to with other .apk and don't have issues normally.
My question is, do I need root to get the 4.4 keyword, launcher etc to work?
Ideas on steps I can take while still stock. I have no problem rooting. Just haven't got around to it.

So launcher won't work as Google search keeps crashing when I attempt to enable the new 4.4 launcher.
So I'm going to just root it and go that route to enable it that way. Keyboard isn't working either while stock and not or rooted either.

Thanks Keith. I'll give it a try when I get back.
No problem.....I also have a 'dark' version of the stock sms apk (got it somewhere here on xda) if you want to try it instead.......

I don't know how to explain it, but I want the MMS apk like the one shown here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/deviceForum/screenshots/1055/20130327T094824.jpg
Is the one you gave me the same one, but appears different on my phone because I'm running CM?
Ah....I don't think the stock mms apk will work on CM as the apk needs the touchwiz framework in order to function.....
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
not sure what touchwiz is, but I'm guessing there is no workaround or way to get the stock mms apk to install on CM roms?
Thanks for your help Keith. Appreciate it!
Touchwiz is the Samsung launcher. It is what gives Samsung phones their look and feel....the user framework of the device. Porting parts of that framework to non Samsung ROMs simply will not work.......
As an alternative, you could look for apps in the themes and apps section for an app which has been made to look like 'stock' but which functions on a non stock ROM......
Or....
You could go for a whole new ROM..... one of the 'hybrid' ones.....a stock based ROM but without the bloat and with aosp/aokp functionality. I've used two and am still using one of them....chamelion and aliance.....I'm not going to recommend either as that's against XDA rules, but both of them will let you download themes and tweaks that let you customize the look of the base ROM so that it can resemble (or not) the full stock package........
