Just bought a gs5 and this is the installed version. Is it current? If not, is the updates any better?
Good phone but has some lag. Also sometimes have slight delay with text messages. On the bright side, the wifi calling works great, which I completely rely on.
Thanks

Everyone's been asking about it. Everyone wants it. Here it is, the wifi calling app from the G2! I've installed and runs perfectly fine on my vibrant running JP3 froyo 2.2. My home network is weak so i can't really test yet. Kudos to @Official_Drizzy for the .apk
Install with your preferred method of install, I used astro just fine, or push it to /system/app via adb. Whatever floats your boat.
enjoy
I wonder if this would work on Bionix 1.8? I don't mind testing, but if anyone knows the answer...

just install it, it won't hurt to try. If it doesn't, then remove it.
Doesn't look like it works at the moment... the app gets to the point where it says 'Enabling...' and doesn't do anything after that. It never goes unresponsive though. I'll keep messing around and see what happens.
It is being discussed in another thread... But it won't work yet with the vibrant. Something to do with the kernal.

I thought it had to do with localhost?
Perhaps it only works on 2.2

Would love to get this thing working. Once it is, would it be possible to call using 3G instead of WIFI? Haven't they done it on Skype.
I wouldn't also mind having Skype work for my Vibrant either
Looks like im going back to Froyo!

The Wifi calling app is merely using your Wifi as a poor-man's femtocell to allow you to have clear voice calls if your in areas where decent voice signal isn't available and Wifi is. Granted, this would also have significant benefits when roaming or traveling where Wifi is available too...
But....
This uses the minutes allocated in your service plan.... So being hacked to run on 3g would be pointless...
doesn't seem mines is having an connectivity issues YET. It says i'm connected to my home network but that i can't use wifi-calling because the network is too weak.
I would just like to be able to use the phone in my apartment where I don't have service. To have to put it on a Froyo that doesn't work completely is out of the question though. Hopefully, someone smarter than me can get it working on JI6.
Just loaded Froyo, it doesn't seem to be working. Just says enabling....
EDIT: Maybe it does work. When I turn it on my signal goes from 1 bar to 5 bars.
Figures, it works perfect downstairs with wifi off and with wifi on. Its hard to tell if wifi calling is working or not because tmobile did fix my signal a little last week.

It wouldn't matter what your cell signal is. Its not using the cell signal its using the wifi.
Doesn't work on Frank Wiz.

Well it might, because thats how it worked on the Blackberry. It switched to UMA and had full bars.
Honestly when I turn it off it goes to 0 - 1 bars the second i turn it on I get 5 bars.

I've noticed much slower data since taking the 4.1.2 ota. My phone is completely stock. Is anyone else seeing this? I've been perfectly happy with stock until now, but Verizon has crossed the line With this one.

Yes, I've noticed that too. So I tried different custom roms but no difference.
If i had to guess the ota had nothing to do with it, rather than vzw rolling out a bunch of updates at the same time thus congesting the network. My speeds and signal are drastically improved.

Your data speeds are primarily affected by the baseband that you are running. I'd visit the Android Development section of the Galaxy Note 2 and locate the Galaxy Note 2 modems thread.
I was getting slower data too with newer AMC3 modem, but I flashed back to ALL4 modem and blazing fast data again.

Yep, Hulu Plus not working here either. I'm running the CM10.2 nightlies on the C6802 in the U.S. Bought the phone on Ebay from someone in Northern California, not sure where he got it.
Edit: I tried the one from this thread, and at least it doesn't force close: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21479536. I'm having trouble logging in tho, not sure if it is my errorr. Also, i dont know how old this version is.
Edit2: duh, i'm not a Hulu+ subscriber so i think that's why i can't log in. the app version looks to be pretty old, but maybe it at least works for subscribers?

I'd recommend both of you contacting the developer and say it's not working on the Xperia Z Ultra, period, that'll put them into action quickly. Also, give them a link to this thread, that always speeds things along.

This happened to me when I lost my TA partition. I would check to see if you still have DRM keys under the service menu. If you purchased your phones off of ebay or swappa they have been unlocked and then relocked prior to selling.
Anyone know why my s5 loosing data connection random, I have to either turn on airplane mode on and off are restart phone for it to connect back

I've been having the same problem for the past week. Just started out of no where. Sometimes a reboot doesn't fix ot. Completely stock here.

A matter of fact some s5 do it and some don't
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Yes I get this several times a day (10+ times). I've found that either going in and out of airplane mode, or more easily, attempting to place a call (doesn't matter if it connects, I usually just call my voicemail and hang up immediately) fixes it. I had this issue much less frequently with the GS4 and I had a previous GS5 that I turned in on warranty for an unrelated microphone issue which had the same problem. I live in a big city if that matters at all as it's possible it's a network issue (I often go into buildings/elevators where there is no service which sometimes seems to cause it when the phone tries to reconnect to the network).
I've found that a little bit of tape helps keep my data from being loose.

Hard to say since you gave us no details about your phone configuration. What is your OS version? One of the bugs that the 4.4.3 update is purported to address is frequent data connection dropouts. Sound familiar?

Ive had at least 7 different phones and numerous tmobile customers complain of this. From whatbi understand its cause there doing major network upgrades
Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Free mobile app
I figured it was because of network upgrades. I just got VOLTE in my area so that could explain it.

Is there anyway to downgrade? I have a tmobile sim in the phone, and the Lollipop update broke the ability to text. I either to need to fix the texting issue, or downgrade.
Thanks,
Eric.
If you got to 5.0.1 via the OTA, there is no way to go back.

That's a bummer, so then that leads to the secondary, is there any way to fix Texting from other carriers, that aren't Verizon? I'm using google messenger.
Maybe it's a APN setting?

just found out a workaround ... download app called Advance Signal Status from play store, and change your Network setting in the app to WCDMA ... everything should work. I know you will not get LTE, but H+ is good enough for speeds, atleast for tmobile.
