Any one interested in the 1.58 build? Its been run forever by myself and testers and is 100% carrieriq free etc...Since some folks dont seem to want to flash appropriate firmware to run 4.4.3...figured I'd offer...IF folks want this build released...speak up... closed mouth dont get fed...

I'd be interested in a 1.58 build from you! As you know, I'd been rocking your 4.4.3 rom but came across another issue... I can't download visual voicemail with WiFi turned on (and connected). I have to turn off my WiFi in order to get new voicemail notifcations. It's probably just a weird incompatibility with the 4.4.3 rom and AT&T. I'm back on stock, rooted 1.58 and all is working as it should.
Plus, maybe AT&T / HTC will release the 4.4.3 ROM for the AT&T variant soon, and then you can release your magic
It tells me it doesn work on wifi and you need signal for it to work...thats not my doing this is from a stock untouched build...Also says here cannot be setup or managed via wifi

Requirements to use Visual Voicemail
In order to use the Visual Voicemail app on your 4G LTE HTC Android smartphone:
Your smartphone data plan must include Visual Voicemail.
Your smartphone needs a cellular data connection. You can't set up or manage your Visual Voicemail over a Wi-Fi-only connection on your smartphone.

I have a signal and everything provisioned correctly with AT&T. Again, visual voicemails download/notify just fine (when I'm connected to WiFI but over mobile network) on AT&T 1.58. On 4.4.3 (Dev Edition), voicemails would not download until I turned wifi off (even though MMS downloaded via mobile network with WiFi on). I also knew it wasn't your doing and just something going on with Dev Ed. and AT&T not quite working well together (or at least it seems).
Not sure on this one, ill have to look into it...but ive never gotten alerts when on wifi on any of the builds including stock as shown....There is no data charge for using vvm on regular signal though...so your not saving or loosing anything by trying to download them on wifi...just sayin..lol
Well I'm not trying to download on WiFi. I'm just saying I get no notification of a voicemail when connected to WiFi on 4.4.3 but I do get a notification on 1.58 (stock, rooted). I'm saying on 4.4.3, I literally have to turn off WiFi for my phone to alert me of a voicemail. I don't have to do this on 1.58. Again, not blaming you, just the way I think dev ed roms work on at&t. Thanks for all the awesome work btw
Ill check into notifications as to why its not showing when on wifi in next update, thanks

I can confirm this behavior as well.
I'm HTCdev unlocked S-ON
TWRP
ATT 1.12.502.18 - stock rooted
Kitkat 4.4.2
AR HD 8.1
And I do not get VVM notifications regardless of carrier connectivity when Wi-Fi is on. I can have full bars, but cannot get or listen to VVM if Wi-Fi is on. Turn it off, works, turn it on and no VVM. Friends m8 behaves the same and he is Intl FW, SuperCID... so its AT&T BS.

I bought an HTC Flyer 3G recently and i was enthused that i could make calls with it.
This link Downgrade from HC beta leaks or official HC OTA to Gingerbread. - xda-developers and several others provides solutions to it but so far the far i have gotten in Unlocking the Flyer at the HTC Unlocking website.
I am told to downgrade from Android 3.2.1 to a lower version because my hboot: 1.11.0011 is not supported which i am confused about at the moment.
I would be glad if someone could please walk me through all the steps (as a novice) in getting the phone and Bluetooth headset to work on my Flyer. Please..

I am evidently a novice, as well. (some folks on this site make sport of putting people in their place just for not knowing acronyms and jargon exclusive to some circles within this society).
I bought my View back when it was a Gingerbread device.
Google Voice & Google Talk were more functional with Gingerbread than with Honeycomb. For this reason I avoided the upgrade to Honeycomb.
So I downloaded both google apps and selected my own google phone number.
I also downloaded Groove IP dialer and set it up with my Google voice acct.
Somehow I have full incoming & outgoing calling with this device while in a data connection (wifi, in my case).
All my other Android devices support outgoing calls only, and I still don't know how to get Google Voice incoming on them without a wireless provider signal.
Perhaps You're not wanting the Google voice solution, but someone else may be reading this, who is.

I think you cannot make any phone call with a stock htc honecomb rom. There are posts in this form telling you to modify build.prop or other things (of course, you need to have root access for doing this), but this won't work - you need some kernel tweaks, too.
If you want your Flyer to make phone calls either go back to GB or use a custom Homeycomb / ICS / JB rom - most of them have phone functionality build in. I testet with Dexter's Jelly Bean and Leedroid - both have full call functionality.
I'm about to exchange my Sony Xperia Z for a HTC One which I'm very familiar with on the AT&T side of things. Recently got out of the contract with AT&T so I decided to try out the Xperia Z. Not a bad phone but I ended up missing my HTC One without question.
Now the question I have is when I flash a ROM do I lose the ability to use Wifi calling? Thanks to t-mobile piss poor wall penetrator I absolutely can't afford to lose this feature.
Sent from my C6606 using xda app-developers app
As of now only 4.1.2 has Wi-Fi calling no 4.2.2 or 4.3 room have that feature and 4.1.2 has very limited roms available devs just jumped ship to newer is updates

Wifi calling info
Here is what I have been able to gather about wifi calling:
It modifies some kernel level (or otherwise low level) stuff so you can't just install it like an apk (an app)
T-mobile is not going to release the source changes (isn't this a violation of GPL?)
The combination of these two factors means you have to copy binaries from T-mobile ROMs to get it to work
Since it is binary kernel level type stuff it can only be copied to ROMs of the same android version
As of the time of writing this T-mobile has not released a 4.2 or 4.3 based ROM
Theoretically there are some 4.1.2 ROMs out there with wifi calling already applied (I don't have any links)
Theoretically there is a flashable package somewhere that can copy the needed binaries over a 4.1.2 ROM (I don't have a link)
This theoretical flashable package requires a sense ROM, wifi calling binaries might require sense
Virtually all of the ROMs listed on these forums DO NOT have wifi calling due to them being 4.2 and 4.3 based ROMs
The only exception I have so far seen are the "stock t-mobile" ROMs
When T-mobile releases a 4.2 or 4.3 based ROM then we should see 4.2 and 4.3 ROM devs copy over wifi calling to their ROMs as long as they have not moved on to 4.4 or later based ROMs by that time
So the bottom line is that right now the only option with wifi calling is the stock t-mobile ROMs. This may change if t-mobile releases a new ROM soon enough, but also may not last. The only long term hope for being able to consistently use it with custom ROMs is if they release the source or Google generically adds wifi calling to android (or changes the phone code such that adding wifi calling can be done in an apk, that way skype and google voice could be hooked in better as well).
Very informative Phreznl, but I would make a correction to your summary. Most ROMs that have been around for awhile and have an old 4.1.2 version include Wi-Fi calling, so you can have Wi-Fi calling on non-stock T-Mo ROMs. However you have to find the old file and sometimes that can be very difficult. I know TrickDroid has it (that's what I run), and I think ARHD also has it.
Don't mean to sound rude or anything, just informative to others looking for variation.

Not. The. Same.
Greetings, and thanks to everyone in the community who has rendered me help in the past.
I recently S-OFF'ed my EVO 4G LTE. I initially had no mobile data or phone service. I did the sprint one-touch activate though, hit "update profile," and after multiple attempts and significant waiting, my phone activated and I could make calls. When I left my house though, I noticed that I couldn't get mobile data. I could make calls and such, but no Google, Internet, or anything, unless I was on Wi-Fi.
I tried updating PRL and Profile again through both Viper Mod and MeanBean, since they're close to stock Sense, but Updating PRL never worked, and Updating Profile never connected. It stayed on "The network is preparing your services."
At some point, I lost service entirely. Before, when I had no phone service, any call would lead me to the voice that says, "Your phone needs to be activated." I activated it, and everything was fine. I may still be activated, but the reception bar shows 0 bars and a little X, while the drop down menu reads "Looking for Service."
Again, thanks for everyone who helped me get S-OFF, Flash my radios, etc., in the past. Please help me get my phone fully functional again.

Just call Sprint and have them send a refresh signal to your device. This is a common side effect of the S-OFF process. Always make sure your service is fully working before moving on to a custom ROM. However, as long as you're on a Sense-based ROM, you shouldn't have any issues getting your device re-activated. You could also try a ##786# reset.

Thank you Captain. I've tried ##786# but I can't find my MSL, either through MSL reader or CDMA workshop. Neither can find the SPC, so I think I'll have to call sprint on google voice or something.
Edit: I got my MSL and did a ##786# reset. This allowed me to update profile and update PRL successfully.
I sitll have no voice or mobile data, no bars and the X at the top (there is another sprint phone in the same room getting reception so it's on mine.) In the ##786# menu, there is no MDN Phone number and no MSID. Hmm.
Okay, I've got my MSID now and Number. It does a commit failed in meanbean though when I try to enter them.
Addition. Sprint refresh signal did NADA.
I just got this phone about a month ago and I am not able to send any text messages but yet, I can receive them. MMS, data, and calling works pretty good too. MMS didn't work at first until I had to change my APN settings. Is there a way to fix this?
Does this problem have something to do with the software version? It's 5.0.1 (lollipop)
I'm having the same problem with my phone also!
Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon)
Im also having the same issue. Sold phone and bought lg g3. Ive tried changing to LTE / UTMS / GSM from global. But nothing. I turn off wifi and on data, sometimes texts go thru. But not 100%.. Another thing you can do temporarily is get a google voice number. All calls will be forwarded to your number and texts will show up in email and hangouts. Good luck

same problem here. It seems we need to either disable lte or find a way to choose lte/gsm mode to get the texting work. I did not find a way to do this in lollipop. Please help.
I need a fix also
No texting on Verizon s4 i545 on 5.0.1 with root
None of the radio switches are working
Need a proper solution ,
partial soln
I have the same problem going to cricket. Here is the solution I am using until a better one is found.
EDIT: (My SCH-I545 is rooted and running Stang5Litres rom, OF1)
[App] Advanced Signal Status
[Select] Additional Info at bottom of page
[Select] Phone Info
[Setting] GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
This soln turns of LTE, but still allows me to use EVDO and HSPA, and texts send and recieve fine. Still trying to find a LTE soln.
This is so weird, after installing and activating tmobile visual voicemail the data/ 4G LTE shuts off and won't come back until Immediately after uminstalling visual Voicemail. I've tried wiping cache and resetting network settings. Doesn't help. I can't imagine it's just my phone. Also, when I uninstall visual, I don't get any notifications after receiving a VM to check the old fashioned way by dialing 1. So strange.

I'm on AT&T and I installed their VVM and it was OK afterwards, afterall, it's just a file download from their servers.
I know on AT&T that when I make a voice call, the modem kicks down to HSPA+ (lose the LTE logo) for the duration of the call. This is because AT&T does not support VoLTE on these phones. I don't know the technical details of why.
Sometimes after the call ends, it takes a while for the LTE mode to kick in again. I wonder if something like this is happening on your phone ?
Yeah i know I don't have volte on tmobile either but it's definitely something with VM app that's screwing me. I'll hope an update fixes it either from tmobile or. 146. For now I'll just have to check VM manually. Also when I finish a call the LTE comes back very quickly so Im happy with that. Data seems to work pretty fast browsing internet while on phone call so that's good too.
Anything else with this? I'm thinking about getting one as I hear the battery is unreal along with the camera. Those 2 things are huge for me. If I could get all day with battery I'd be so happy. I'm a power user and can't get all day on any device.
Any news on wifi calling?
TIA
