Has anyone used this utility? If so, what are your thoughts? I haven't tried it yet but may this weekend.
This link gives you a bit of a description on what the utility does....
http://pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1296
This link is the direct download link for those not able to see past the Japanese text...
http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Cupertino/2039/ForceHires.zip
This is the direct download link for gsGetFile.dll. Just download, extract archive and get your file from the Arm folder.
http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Cupertino/2039/gsgetfile-i.zip
------------Description Quote--------------------------
Many applications display poorly on Pocket PC VGA as they don't support VGA mode, but use "double pixelisation". There's a work-around for this problem without having to go to "Full VGA" (as SE_VGA and OzVGA do). But this requires adding a little file next to each specific executable.
ForceHiRes has the same effect, without having to add the famous file time and again (10k each time), all done from a System Control Panel (with a simple .cpl file placed in \Windows). You only need to add to the list the executable that you want to force to hi-res mode: simple, quick & effective.
Note: if you don't use File Dialog Changer, you will need to download the gsGetFile.dll from the author's website and copy it to the \Windows directory on your PocketPC.
-----------End Quote----------------------------------
It's in Japanese unfortunately.
I loved it on my hx4700. Haven't tried it yet on my Athena.

Works on my Touch Pro just fine. Indagroove has a ROM for the touch pro & the diamond that is sashimi compliant. Install the ROM, install sashimi, reboot & off you go!
ROMs don't need to be SASHIMI compliant. You set it up on your SD card and just launch it directly from there. It'll automatically set up anything you have configured. It' a brilliant service! And it deserves a link to the official site/thread, too:
http://www.winmo-experts.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4
Be sure to watch the videos - they show you exactly how to do your initial setup.
Any one has al ink to that app or can e-mail it to me?

Go register and get it.
Essential for me. I wouldn't flash as much as I do if it wasn't for that. I donated for that app.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577728 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538513. A lot of info also to make a backup

Yup...you can download it from the below site. It's the site the creator of SASHIMI made.

heres a program i made to go with sashimi

...............
Isn't this forbidden by the mod/owner?
Since I can't find Sashimi anywhere, is there an alternative stand-alone solution to CABs multi-installs?
I attached SASHIMI for you. I am using it for more than a year now and if/when you set it up for your taste you can automate almost everything after a new ROM flash
Or just try UC Net. It is better as Sashimi and works also on new ROM's.
Sashimi better than other customization systems
Though Sashimi stopped development I can say it is the best!!
I think people did not give time to understand the way its files work and thats why they prefer other systems that do the half work.
Other systems donot put folders or files in any device directory, they dont install mortscripts, they donot add whole files to documents folder they dont execute .reg files and makisu xml with email and wifi settings.
I wrote these lines just to tell that Bengalin did a clever brilliant job though it did not widely adapted from the phone communities.
Maybe, if people want to try it, I will write a tutorial for its basic functions and maybe Bengalin is going to come again with a new version.

The above mentioned program does all this you mentioned, plus creates automatically shortcuts individuallt or from whole folders just with a simple text file command, moves or deletes files etc etc. You can also create numbered folders with files, exes, mscrs, reg etc, which are processed one after the other. At the beginning you can choose what folders should be processed. The only thing i miss from Sashimi is the resume feature, but as it never fails during installation i really don't need it.

There is a resume feature in Sashimi. If the installation fails at some point and you restart the device and run sashimi again, then it asks you to resume or not.
Also there is no need for text file command for adding a shortcut. You just copy your tree in the root folder of auto sashimi and then the file or shortcut appears where you want it.For example, if you want to add a shortcut in start menu you copy the tree in auto sashimi root folder like this:Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Games/BubbleBreaker.lnk
But how you move or delete files?

It's right there in VERY FIRST POST in the thread indicated to you! I will be surprised and shocked if you couldn't find it!!
However, in case you really struggled, here is the WHOLE bit copied and pasted from that thread's first post.
Now to run Android properly in your phone !
1.Download any of the builds we have around here.
2.Do backup on your sdcard or if you have additional one use this one.
3.Extract the file with android in your sdcard.
4. Check all the files are inside (sdcard/Android/AndroidApps"folder", media"folder",root"folder",clrcad"file",rootfs"fil e",startup"file",system"file",zImage"file",init rd" file")
5. If you want you can take everything from Android folder and pest it in root of the sdcard but you have to change default text (set cmdline"rel_path=Android change to set cmdline"rel_path=" or set cmdline"rel_path=sdcard") tri with one if is not working try with the other one. I thing the best is leave all files and folder in default Android folder and just copy this folder to your sdcard.
6.Check your zImage and Startup is for Toshidroid :OP (TG01).
7.First RUN haret without CLRCAD.
8.It take no more than10 min to run for the first time.
9. If it take more time RESTART the phone by pressing the POWER BUTTON for 10/20 sec it will restart and back to windows.
11.Try to do the same one more time.
12.If it still not booting to Android and you receive any error messages. Check your sdcard if there is space left in it. Check error message if it say that it can find some file or it can't create a data.
13. Delete everything from your sdcard and format it to fat32.
14.Start from the beginning.
15. If it still not booting to Android then check if you have all files and all set how it has to be.
16. Don't forget you can broke your phone. And we are not responsible for any damage you cause to your phone.
17.It is all up to you.
19. If I forget something sorry about just ask there are other memebers who will try to help you if they can.
20. Sorry for my English mistakes. I'm trying to fix them. :OP
Thanks to all people who try their best to make that possible: Markinus, Arash18k,Bally3,Endrix,Nyl,Arnookie and all other.
Please don't feel bad or offended by any of our posts, but I think the response to you was correct at beginning and we all at XDA do appreciate that the number of threads are kept to minimum and you follow the rule of 'Search before asking' as this keeps it easy for moderators as well as other new members or current members to find something they are looking for in a single thread rather than 10 different threads! Imagine if every new member started opening a new thread!
when it is finished you can put in the NAND as the HD2?
ive installed cygwin but when i call ./menu the answer is
"scripts/check_binaries: line 22: clear: command not found"
Error: The application 'clear' is not installed. The kitchen
will not function properly without it. Refer to the
FAQ for the Android Kitchen at xda-developers.com for
assistance on installing the binary for 'clear'.
but on the terminal when i call Ctr+L it cleans the window.
am i doing something wrong ??
You just quoted the answer to your question! I thought I made the error messages easy enough to understand.
There is an answer to that same question in the FAQ and it has been asked several times in the thread if you search.
believe me, ive done some research before posting...
my big wall is that i dont understand dev or prog logical spelling and i am not english as you can see by my flag.
even on some threads that i read, user cant get a specific answer because helpers and users always point for faq .

This is not an excuse. You don't need to understand development/programming or even fluent English to install Cygwin. The specific answer to your exact question is in the Android Kitchen FAQ, it's not there so that somebody can get you off his back. The FAQ is there in simple English and its purpose to stop questions like this being asked a hundred times and cluttering up the forums and wasting my time answering the same thing over and over. I didn't spend all that time working on answering the questions for nothing. I'm trying to make the kitchen instructions and errors as descriptive and helpful as possible to the user yet somehow it makes it harder for you.
In brief, simply open up the readme file and make sure you followed the cygwin instructions correctly.
I'm sorry. did not want to undervalue your efforts and your work.
was having a bad day and did not pay real attention to your work.
is true, everything is the way it is explained, and followed to the letter, we have a kitchen completely furnished and ready to cook.
a true thank you for your work and hope to continue to have your news.

calm down ..is it so hard to answer...blabla iam developer
browse to https://github.com/dsixda/Android-Kitchen , download as zip and extract it to C:\cygwin\home\user (assume its install location)
working only on x64 version based PC only.
rename your extracted folder to kitchen
before make sure cpio, perl, ncurses, wget, zip, unzip, gcc has installed from cygwin setup.
cd kitchen
./menu

if you downladed the packages from external source then while installing cygwin when a list of apps appears on top left of list search for default and keep clicking on it until install appears. it will solve the 'clear' problem. if still persists contact me. hit thanks if i helped.
I don't think any one looked at the dates of when this question was posted.
Cygwin not working
Hello guys. I have done what you have said in regards with the installation (installed correct 32bit java, click install instead of default, and downloaded half url package in cygwin installation wizard) however it keeps showing the Error: The application 'clear' is not installed .
Any other solutions you can think of?
Thanks!

For me it didn't work, i try everything and it stills gives me the same message of clear.
got all the way to step 7 of method two from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 and ran UpTestEX_mod2_marwin only to get a pop up please update R&D test tools".
I know the regular LG R&D doesn't let me revert from kitkat (have tried 5 times), so does anyone know where I can actually get a current R&D mod. Have googled every way I could think of and as I started trying to get this T-Mobile LG G2 re-rooted 14 hours ago, I'm burnt and really need some help.
Thanks in advance
did you reed instructions in the file?
does the script complete.
anyways reboot, add manually the url to hostfile
:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host
save without txt extension (as all files).
follow instructions again, then it should launch
after manually remove line from hosts again.
that worked for me
also firwall should allow https file that virusscanner may mark as virus.

yes, I read the instructions, as I said I was up to #7 and that's where the Marwin file will not go through.

I really hate when people scold people about being in the right forum when they actual are.
I've posted a general G2 question in the General G2 forum.
And this question had nothing to do with the LGMOBILEAX file (which I already substituted). It was about the LG R&D not working on an LG G2 which I posted in the LG forum.
Less time acting like a parent, more time reading the post before you offer no help.
yeah bro a question is q&a section
but did you try my suggestions? only read you comment on reading about instructions
