[Q] Xt910 wont charge - Motorola Droid RAZR

My RAZR xt910 won't charge, at all, I tried a couple of chargers, cables, outlets and nothing, but when i turn of my device the white charging light comes on for a second or two and then again nothing, i tried charging it with my laptop but when i connect it it reads usb error, but when i opened usb debuging it started charging for 2,3 minutes and again stopped ... is the usb port gone or is it some software issue ( i am running the lattest LS)

I had same issue. Problem is with USB slot. Dust and dirt leads to computer no recognition. Clean with some needle the USB slot on phone and than connect.it should work.

[Q] Mini usb port not woking, Help please

The other day I plugged my x10 mini pro, (u20i) into my laptop to transfer some pictures over and the "USB Connected" flashed on and off in the notification bar, since then, the mini usb on the u20i has not worked for anything other than charging, I'm assuming it's a hardware failure but am hoping theres an easy fix for this as I now have no access to flashmode, adb, or data transfer, charging still works fine, I've tried wiping data and doing a factory reset and a complete reinstalltion of the rom but the problem persists, I'm running minicm7 2.2.0 rom using naa 11 kernel, PC companion also doesn't detect it and windows itself says that the usb device has malfunctioned and can't be detected, I'm gonna try accessing the bootloader through terminal emulator and flashing the kernel again incase something somehow got corrupted and will post the results, but I'm guessing it won't get detected anyways.
Anyone who has experienced this, or has any ideas are welcome, as without adb and flashmode I'm kinda stuck, thanks in advance.
Edit: Tried accessing flashmode (bootloader) through the terminal emulator and the phone realizes the usb is in and stays in flashmode (screen off, Green led lit) like it should but the pc still doesn't recognize it. Everything else I plug in to the pc's usb ports work so it's not the pc either.
Also I restored a backup where I know the usb was working and stil get the same results
Tried lots of different cables including the one that came with the phone, still no luck
I had something similar with my X10 Mini Pro. The USB connection would only work if I had the cable in just the right angle.
Unfortunately, it's a common issue with the design of USB ports. Repeated plugging and unplugging can lead to bits being bent. I had a company laptop that eventually only had one of the four USB ports working.
What I ended up doing with the phone was getting a very short cable (about two inches) and hanging the phone from it. I've got a tower PC and this ensured a connection every time.

my mini has a similar issue, holding the cable does the trick
for charging, i need to place the phone at the border of a table, the cable being in the air...
only way left to charge everyday

Thanks for the replies guys, I have the same problem with charging, cable needs to be at the right angle to work, but it won't work with the data connection.
again, thanks for the replies
Typed on my mimmi using naa kernel and rom
Yes, Finally got it working, after hours of fiddling, prodding and poking I finally got the pc to detect it, just had to get the cable in at the right angle, I though I'd shorted something on the main board and could never use it again, cm9 here I come

[Q] SII shows USB connected, when not plugged in

Hi all,
I have Galaxy SII with android Gingerbread.Until recently my phone was being detected by my system .But few days back I unplugged the phone from another system after transferring data ,without safely removing it.
Since my phone shows USB connected (MTP-connected) message along with the icon even when it is not connected. Also since then it is not being detected by my system and KIES shows connecting .When i opt for USB mass storage option ,it pops up a message"USB connected ,please remove the cable " .Same situation for USB debugging mode.
Please suggest as what to do .My last option is factory reset ,
Plug into wall charger let it charge for I min. Turn charger off at wall or unplug from wall wait few seconds 5 or 10 then remove usb cable from phone. If that dont work its looking like a new usb port which is cheap and easy to fit.

[Q] Issue USB Galaxy S Duos

My phone didnt charging with USB anymore... 3 times ago i turned off the phone em plug USB and try to charge, it started the phone normally but no charging... And now, trying any method and any USB works
My usb was bricked??? There is a way to know about it?? Ah log or a app that shows if a hardware are working??
Or any solution???
is your computer recognizing the phone when you connect it ?
if it is and charging is not working means that the charging pins of usb might be broken
I think the inner pins of a usb cable are for charging , they might be damaged .
Try using another usb cable

USB charging issues

It all began when I was trying to transfer a file to my windows 10 Dell Laptop. I connected my phone using an original usb cable. The computer recognized the phone for a few seconds and the usb connection dialogue appeared on my phone, but then the computer said it had gotten disconnected so I had to transfer the files via Bluetooth. Since then it will only charged plugged to that computer or to a MacBook charger. It won’t recognize the original charger. It would only charge either if connected to my PCs USB port or connected to a MAcBook pro charger. I’ve tried several regular phone chargers and cables, including the original ones and they won’t work.
I thought the USB port had gotten wet because it was giving me that message when I tried plugging it to a regular Samsung charger, but when I plugged it to the Mac book charger which uses also a C Type cable it worked and the moisture detection notification disappeared.
I’ve already tried doing a soft reset and wiping out the cache...
Please advice.
