Hello if you want to have the rom installed on your device the steps to install this rom are "
Step 1 - Download Revolutionary S5 Android 4.4.2 ROM for Galaxy S III to your computer.
Step 2 - Connect and mount your Galaxy S3 USB memory on your computer using the USB cable.
Step 3 - Now copy/paste the downloaded Android 4.4.2 ROM zip file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the SD card root (not in any folder).
Step 4 - Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.
Step 5 - Now to get in the Recovery Mode. Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together.
Step 6 - Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.
Step 7 - Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition”
Step 8 - Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From CWM recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.
Step 9 - Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.
Step 10 - Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the Android 4.4.2 ROM zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.
Step 11 - After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.
after this your phone will take roughly five mins to download
the download link is http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=4922
sorry if a rule has been broken giving a link

thanks, i got confused because there are lots of information in the topic, like DUALBOOT , Bloat content, Extra's content and Theming content.
Do i have to download all that?

Hello
Just to explain dual boot is only if you want to run two different roms on your phone such as stock samsung rom and s5 sensation, bloat content is included with the rom and during the installtion you are asked what you want to install and what you don't depending on your needs this also happens with the extra content and theming content however more can be downloaded from the developer how ever most other content for a rom that isnt included with the rom isnt really needed.

Ok. I will try that. Thank you

Hey plz tell me in detail how do i install custom rom (most stable with excellent performance) in my lg p500!!!
plz answer in detail including how do i wipe sd card and all
THnx in advandee
Have you rooted your phone?
Well I'll assume that you have an P500 with v2.2.2, Stock Rom Untouched.
Firstly you would want to root the phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Download Gingerbreak
- Make sure USB debugging is enabled(Can be enabled through settings)
- Make sure you have an SD card (formatted and) inserted
- Place the app onto the root of your SD card
- Open the APK, press the root button
- Wait a few minutes. If there are no problems, the device will reboot (note that the reboot itself can take like 10 minutes due to cache wipe)
Congratulations the phone is rooted.

After rooting your phone, you must have 1) Recovery Installer
2) Terminal Emulator (Free from market)
3) The Custom Rom
I recommend FranciscoFranco's Rom as it contains excellent tweaks without hassle of flashing many files which may cause your phone to brick.
Recovery Installer, You can get it from: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11987571/quick/recovery_installer.rar
when you have everything, lets start
1. extract contents of "recovey_installer.rar" to the root(meaning the base) of your SDcard.(it contains 3 files, so you should also see 3 new files on your SD card).
2. open terminal emulator, enter these lines(press enter after each line):
Code:
su
sh /sdcard/rf.sh
just wait and this should reboot you directly to recovery.
3. now in recovery(remember: "vol + and - button" is "up and down" "menu button is ok/select" and "back button" is back)
Congratulations, Your Recovery Installer is installed.
Now, You can get FranciscoFranco's Rom which is called Devoid from
here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049518
Download franco.devoid and the kernel.
Go to recovery boot
1.Select Wipe and Wipe everything and that includes data+factory settings, cache, system, .android-secure and sd-ext partition (if you had it already)
2. Select ext partition and choose either ext2/3/4 : 512mb,swap:0
3.Toggle usb connection and place devoid.franco and the kernel zip files onto your sd card.
4.Select flash and flash devoid.franco first then flash the kernel. You do not need to toggle signature verify as it should have signatured. If you are a ***** then carry on and toggle signature verify.
5.Reboot.
Enjoy

There's an option where it says "wipe" when you are in your recovery boot you should enter that category and wipe what the developer says.
Also there should be a guide of how to flash cm7 onto your phone in the thread itself
There shouldn't be any problem .
Do you mean you do not know how to enter recovery boot menu?
If so, open your terminal emulator and type
su
reboot recovery
It will reboot your phone to recovery boot.
Then wipe what the developer asks you to wipe,
make the partition on your sd card wether its ext2/3/4
Then flash it.

Xperia u ics

Hi guys look I have xperia u gingerbread rooted unlocked bootloader and cwm recovery installed is there a way to install a Rom by cwm recovery to make it ics? Plz help cuz that why I rooted!
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
Yes, just to go it's subforum ( forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1728 ), choose a ROM and follow it's instructions.
Cyanogenmod 9.1 is available for xperia u
Before Installing make sure to :
1. Download and install the android SDK and install adb (Click here for guide to install ADB on the android SDK)
2. Have atleast 70% battery life left
Download these files :
Fastboot
Google Apps (Gapps)
Cyanogenmod 9.1
(Xperia U Codename is KumQuat)
Now comes the flashing part
Extract the downloaded fastboot file to the desktop.
Get the downloaded ROM zip file which contains boot.img file and copy the boot.img it in the fastboot folder.
Copy ROM and Gapps zip file into the Xperia U SD card (Internal memory).
Power off the phone.
Now press and hold the volume down key and at the same time connect your Xperia U to the PC via USB cable.
Now your phone LED turn to blue color
Open the fastboot folder.
Press and hold the shift key on your keyboard and simultaneously right click inside the fastboot folder.
Now you can see the Windows context menu. Click its Open command window here option.
Then Windows Command Prompt(CMD) window will open.
Type or copy/paste following command line.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
After the installation is completed, next type following command line.
Code:
fastboot reboot
Next we should boot into the recovery. To do that while the Xperia U rebooting you can see the Free Xperia Projectboot-logo. Now quickly press and release the Volume Up key few times.
After you enter into the CWM based recovery first make a backup of your current ROM. Go to backup and restoregtBackup. It will take a few minutes. When its completed go back to the main menu.
Navigate to Wipe data/factory resetgtYes Wipe user data. After it completed go back to the CWM main menu.
Go to Wipe cache partitiongtYes Wipe cache.
Navigate to Advanced>Wipe dalvik-cache >Yes Wipe.
Now we can start the CyanogenMod ROM installation. Go to Install zip from the sd card>Choose zip from sd card. Browse the ROM zip file and select Yes Install.
Installation takes a few seconds. After it completed again select Choose zip from sd card option and select the downloaded Gapps.zip file. To begin the installation select Yes Install.
After all the zip file installed, go back to the ClockworkMod based recovery main menu.
Select reboot system now option.
Now your phone will be rebooted. First boot takes a few minutes. Its longer than usual time.
Congratulations, you just installed CyanogenMod 9.1 on your Sony Xperia U ST25i.
Hit That Thanks Button if i helped!
Thank but there is mistake in volume buttoms you gave me the opposite of it lol

[HowTo] How to make your X10Mini/Pro better!

Hello XDA!
I know there has been a lot of guides for this, but I am going to explain everything very clearly, so please don't remove this thread, I am just trying to help people who don't have very much experience with Android phones.
So let's begin!
Requierments:
1. An X10Mini or X10MiniPro
2. A MicroSD card (Not necessary, a MicroSD adapter)
3. USB Cable
Step 1.
To install a custom ROM, you need to root your phone, ofc you do! So I am going to leave a link how to root your phone (made by me!)
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2256014
Step 2.
You need to search a ROM and a kernel, all ROM's don't require a custom kernel, but most of them do, so I will drop a list of good ROM's and kernels!
ROM's that run on stock kernel:
1.XperianBlaze (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644846)
2.MiniCM7Pro (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201116)
ROM's that require on a custom kernel:
1.MiniCM7, MiniCM9, MiniCM10 (https://code.google.com/p/minicm/)
2.GingerDX (http://x10miniandpro.blogspot.com/2012/08/gingerdx-v028b-070812.html)
3.XperiaBlaze (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644846)
4.Slim ROM's+ CM10 Revised (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2079747)
5.JBMini Project (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789713X10)
6.MIUI (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991720)
Now some custom kernels (credits go to nAa.)
1.nAa GB kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350484)
2.nAa JB kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837271)
3.nAa ICS kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636504)
There are more kernels but I think these are the best (my opinion.)
Now that you have chosen a ROM, put it on your SD Card, don't forget to download GAPPS, and put that on your SD Card aswell!
Step 3.
1. Download the kernel from the list above! And download FlashTool (http://www.4shared.com/file/JMFhqX8K/flashtool-0990-windows.html)
2. Place the kernel in the (C:Flashtool/firmwares folder). AND DELETE X10BLRELOCK! It will give you lots of trouble!
3. Now open FlashTool, press on the flash button, select Flashmode and then the kernel that you placed in the Firmwares folder.
4. Power off your phone! Hold on your back button on the phone and connect the USB Cable, and wait for the FlashTool to flash the kernel. Then disconnect.
Step 4.
Now that you flashed the kernel, you have CWM installed, the phone will boot itself into recovery because stock ROM will not boot with that kernel. Now when you are in recovery, do these steps:
1."Factory reset/wipe data"
2."Wipe cache partition"
3.Go to "advanced", and "Wipe Dalvik cache".
4.Now go to "mounts and storage", and "Format system" and "Format SD-ext".
5. "Install .ZIP from SD Card" then "Choose .ZIP from SD Card". Now select the ROM you wanted to flash.
6. Flash the ROM, and after that flash GAPPS!
7. And you are done! Enjoy the new ROM!
If you have any problems, write a reply or just PM me, I will be happy to help!
PRESS "THANKS" IF I HELPED YOU IN SOME WAY!

[Q] How to root Moto E (updated to 4.4.4) ?

I have a Motorola Moto E(XT1022). I bought it recently and just when I first started it, I got the 4.4.4 kitkat update and so I downloaded it right away. Then I realised one of the biggest problems of Moto E i.e. 2.2 gb storage. So i dug into find how to install apps on sd card and got to know that you have to root the phone. On xda, I found various ways to root but they were only for the 4.4.2 version of the phone and others were update to 4.4.4 on aldready rooted devices. Please tell me the way to root my device. Also as I am new to this, I dont understand any words like bootloader, fast recovery, etc. Please help me. Thank you in advance.
Edit: Can I use the way given by deej_roamer in his post here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2755336
Edit: I am sorry to have posted this in the general section. I don't know how to move it now to the questions section. Sorry again.
Thank You DAVI FELICANO and deej_roamer for their help. I have now successfully rooted my phone. If someone else has a problem, go to Page 2 for the solution.
You can use the defalt method, dont need to change anything.
Who told you that you need root to move apps to sd card?
Once you insert sd card you will get an option in settings/apps to move apps to sd card for those that can be moved.
This is though limited to Apks only and data is still kept in internal sd card.
If this option is not enough for you then you can go the advanced wag by rooting and using gl2sd or link2sd like apps.

You mean I can just follow the way to root if my device would have been running 4.4.2 kitkat (and as suggested by deej_roamer in his post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755336 )
Thank you.

You can install only one game due to it's low internal memory. By one game I mean high graphics game. The obb file remains in the internal storage even after moving to SD card. I tried many things like making SD card default storage using SDK tools but to no Vail. Guess the only way now is to root it & use apps like gl2sd

I followed the thread by deej_roamer here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755336
Try out my steps:
[Your phone battery must be at least 75%]
1. First download "Fastboot" from the thread. (Click on the "mfastboot-v2" link in the thread)
2. Next install it in a folder and remember that folder. Also, make sure you select the option of "Create shortcut on Desktop" during installation.
3. Next download CWM recovery from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/general/root-moto-e-rooting-flashing-recovery-t2802971 (Click on the "CWM 6.0.4.9 recovery For MOTO E" link in the thread)
4. Copy the "cwm6.0.4.9_recover.img" file to the installation folder of fastboot.
5. Next download SuperSU v2.02 from here - http://download.chainfire.eu/452/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip (Click on "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip" link)
6. Don't Extract Supersu zip file.
7. Connect phone to pc. Copy the zip file to your internal memory(the directory of int. memory is /sdcard) (The directory for ext. sd card is /storage/sdcard1).
8. Remove your phone from your pc.
9. Switch off your device.
10. Turn on your device by holding power off button and volume down button together for 6-7 seconds. Quickly connect your phone to your pc.
11. The bootloader must be showing usb connected.
12. Run fastboot from your desktop.
13. Now type this (without quotes) - "fastboot flash recovery cwm6.0.4.9_recovery.img"
14. Look at the screen of device. It must be showing "Mismatched partition size (recovery)". It is normal don't worry.
15. Press volume down once (recovery will be selected) and then volume up so that it goes into recovery.
16. It will show the bootloader unlocked warning. Don't worry about it.
17. Your phone should now be in CWM recovery.
18. Don't do anything except what I tell you.
19. In this menu movement is done by the volume rockers ans selection by power button.
20. Press volume down so that "install zip" is selected.
21. Press power button.
22. Select "choose zip from /sdcard". Press power button.
23. Find the SuperSU.zip file(It will probably be in the "0/" folder)
24. It will ask to confirm install. Select Yes.
25. SuperSU will be installed.
26. Select CWM reboot. When you select CWM reboot, it will display "root access possibly lost - Fix?". PLEASE Select "No".
27. Your phone will now reboot. (The bootloader unlocked warning will be shown and then the boot animation).
28. Open your menu(in the phone) and find SuperSu app (a # symbol will be there in its icon).
29. Disconnect your device from the pc.
CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE A ROOTED MOTO E.
If you ever wish to flash any other recovery (like twrp),
1. Copy the file to the fastboot installation folder in your pc.
2. Then reboot your device into bootloader and quickly connect it to your pc.
3. Run fastboot from your desktop and then type the following without quotes: "fastboot flash recovery cwm6.0.4.9_recovery.img"
4. Instead of writing "cwm6.0.4.9_recovery.img" write the complete file name including extension. For eg. if file name is "twrp_recovery_2" and has extension ".img" then write "fastboot flash recovery twrp_recovery_2.img"
I hope that this solved your problem brother.

Dear Sir,
So far I did not try installing the Chinese recovery. I would like to do a full back-up BUT I don't see in your translation how to go "Back to previous menu" in Chapter 5 to reboot device.
Any suggestion, and did you try to back-up yours?

No boot recovery...
I did step after step exactly what you did, but it doesn't reboot in Chinese recovery.
Download recovery_cn.img, put it in My internal SD, then flash with Flashify then try to boot with Flashify menu.
I stay with The Huawei Logo on for 1 or 2 minutes then boot normally.
The only difference is that you flash recovery from 4.22 and I did from Kitkat Maj 102

I'm not sure why it won't work for you, as @zertux in the other thread could do it, and so have several others in my home forum.
At worst, try the Vol Up + Power combo after you have shut down.
However, make sure you are PLUGGED IN VIA USB TO A PC. For some strange reason, getting to Recovery and Fastboot modes on this device needs you to have your device connected to a PC.

Dear sir,
Back to you this morning, and I might need your advice/help because Vol Up + Power combo after you have shut down does NOTHING!
Did you, by any chance, backup the original previous Stock Recovery in Flashify?
If yes, would you be kind enough to send it to me?
That would be fair!

Dear sir,
If you still have this loop problem, if you can boot in bootloader there is a way to get back to your original recovery and then start Android like it was before.
Kindly yours from an old man:angel:
Here are the great advices from fellows that help me to get back to my original recovery
First : download and install "Huawei update extractor"
Second : download and install on your desktop : android-sdk-windows-1.6_r1 (Google is your friend)
Third : open your previous update.app with "Huawei update extractor" then extract previous recovery.img and copy it into Tools folder from "android-sdk-windows-1.6_r1"
Fourth : hold shift and right clic on fastboot folder for open a command
type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (you can paste in fastboot cmd window with right click)
click enter and VOILA
From Joytest :
you can extract the recovery.img from an update.app with the "Huawei update extractor" search on google.
ive the same issue i extract the recovery from YOUR ORIGINAL ROM and flash with fastboot (flashify dont work) and all its done
the fastboot command is: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
From Bypass83
put the recovery.img inside the fastboot folder
hold shift and right clic on fastboot folder for open a command
type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (you can paste in fastboot cmd window with right click)
click enter and fastboot wait for your device
put your phone in fastboot mode holding up and power (or down and power ) for 5sec
it enter in fastboot mod now you can connect to your computer
fastboot must automaticaly begin flashing .
don't worry if you find its quick its normal
have a good trie
Thinks to Benny888 for images
HOPE IT WILL HELP like They did for me

Thank you your suggestion works. When I tried to install ROM by CWM, there was error message "E:footer is wrong". I tried all ROMs I found (for 7D-501u). But with original recovery I was able to install the ROM and it works now.
Thank you!

@bvannier you have nicely summarised the steps to recover from a faulty recovery. I would like to post this to Lowyat page 1 with your permission.
