[Q] Huawei y530 internal storage problem after rooting with TowelRoot - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone had a bug that said: "Insufficient internal storage", so I tried to solve this rooting with TowelRoot, but when I did things became worse... Now, it seems I can't access internal storage.. if I try to save anything (image, music, etc) to it, it crashes, it just says: "Unable to save file, try again later" if its from WhatsApp, if I try with chrome it closes, if I try with the computer it stays some time trying to copy the file then it says it cannot do it.
After this, I did a Hard Reset (power + up volume buttons), but that didn't do it... What can I so now to access the internal storage and be able to save files again?

Could you ever use internal sdcard for anything, music, pics, ect? I have y530-0151 and even before I rooted it I could not use internal for anything, not even storage. same as you, pc takes forever then gives error.

Same here...even though file explorers show the 4 gb int storage...nothing is shown.
Don't believe it was the towelroot. Maybe it is messed up permissions??
I'm gonna try to flash the hell out of this phone tonight....we'll see if internal storage will return.

No access to internal memory. Problem during format

I basically have no internal memory anymore. I was formatting it through my pc, and then it froze when I opened an app. When I forced reboot it, I had no access to the internal memory, and if I try to format it through the phone it goes into it for a while and then reboots on its own. My computer doesn't detect it and TWRP says the wipe failed. Suggestions? I am really worried. Luckely I still have access to external SD.
Thank you.

it detects external sd so flash a new kernel and use the new recovery to access the internal memory
I managed to solve it, with @_Sale_'s help and the the procedure of @electricsheepdreamer at the link below. Thank you both, truly.

Internal Storage Full After Factory Reset

Hi,
I have a Huawei Ascend G6 (U10) and rooted my device with TowelRoot 3.0
When you get a new phone it's custom to first fully charge your device and then let it fully deplete before fully charging it again to make sure you use the full capability of your device's battery. (during this time I rooted my device) Now, while it was at only 3% of battery I was playing a silly game, called Can KnockDown 3. While playing this game, my device turned off due to no battery. After it fully charged again, I tried to run the game again but it got stuck on the initialisation screen.
No big deal, I thought. So, I went on and just un-installed it and tried to re-install it. Problem is, I got Google Play error 492 when I tried to download/install the game once more. So I restarted my device, tried to un-install the Play Store and tried a hard reboot. None of those worked.
After some reading I got to know that I had to install an app called "ROM manager", boot into Recovery Mode and delete the Dalvik Cache (Which was said to be located in "Settings". Now, I don't know much about phones, nor Android. So that proved quite difficult. I went into Recovery Mode but was unable to find the "Settings" tab. So, I wiped Cache and the other setting. Can't quite remember. When I rebooted it, the problem was STILL not solved.
Now, I never noticed the REAL problem because I had my external SD card mounted.
This morning, I wanted to change my profile picture on an app called What's App Messenger. It gave me the following error: "Failed to load image data, please try again later." That really bothered me and after a reboot the problem was still not solved. I quickly realised that all my pictures were on my external SD so I turned off my phone to take it out. Booted it without external SD. Tried to make a picture with my camera, but it said "Internal Sotrage full. Please insert an SD card." but when I went to my filemanager there was NOTING on my internal SD. No maps, nothing. However, in my settings it says that only 1.98 GB of the 4 GGB internal storage is used...
Could someone please help me with this?
try using DiskUsage app, it shows every folder in your phone and how much space they take, also if you have rooted your phone, it shows wich system folders take most of the space (logs and tmp folders, safe to erase)

I appreciate your reply, but I don't think that's the problem. I think my internal SD card is f***ed up now. I've tried wiping it all I want but to no avail. Probably something went wrong with rooting it, or installing ClockWorkMod or something. I don't know.
What I do know is that I need help!
Have you found a solution

[Q] my phone's internal memory has been set to "read-only"

This is happening to me. Any help on how to set interneal memory to read and write. i cannot save any file to my phone from any apps.
I'll apreciate your help.
"Let me first apologize for the length of this but hopefully someone will be able to help. I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 SPH-L710 running 4.4.2. I recently attempted to use CMInstaller to load Cyanogenmod (I use otter1 on my Kindle and love Cyanogenmod and I really dislike Samsung's OS and bloatware) but it failed. It would get to the point of "Loading OS" and then the android picture on my phone was laying flat with a red triangle over its chest (I'm guessing that means error). CMInstaller then completed and said everything was successful. My S3 then gave me two yes/no questions but no matter what I answered, it eventually just returned to the stock Samsung OS with no root or superuser. From what I have been reading, this is due to Knox and I need to root my phone and remove Knox. I've found several helpful forums on xda-developers on rooting my phone and deleting Knox.
My issue though is that apparently somehow my phone's internal memory has been set to "read-only" or affected in some other way. The phone still works as a phone and it has allowed me to install apps and I can transfer files to and from both the internal memory and the SD card using my computer. But I've noticed that some apps are acting very strangely.
Amazon Kindle: will not download any books or register that I transferred ebooks to the Kindle folder (and yes, they are in the right folder and the right formats). When I attempt to download a book, the pull down menu for the phone gives me an error of "N/A - Download unsuccessful. Tap to try again." When I tap on that, it goes to a download screen that just sits there and does nothing. If I click on the book in the Kindle app it gives me an error of "Unable to Download. A network connection is required to download your Kindle title. Please connect to a network and try again." During these errors I have network connection (I am able to get online using the Dolphin browser) and have tried multiple different wifi networks and Sprint's network in many different geographical locations. I have tried using my wife's Amazon account on my phone with the exact same result.
Dolphin browser: Will not download anything to the internal memory (immediately results in a "Download unsuccessful") and fails to recognize my external SD card (when attempting to choose it as a download location it displays the message "Can't find file or directory. Please make sure your SD card is ready, and USB Mass Storage is turned off.") My phone is not connected to my computer during this.
Google Drive: Immediately fails to download any file.
doubleTwist: When attempting to set the music location to internal memory, doubleTwist says "It appears that your device has been set to read-only." Can access the SD card and play music found there.
All of the stock Samsung applications can access both internal memory and the SD card with no problem. The camera can save pictures to the internal memory and the SD card, the stock browser can save files with no problems, the voice recorder can record and save without issue and My Files can move, copy and delete files on both the SD card and the internal memory. It could argued that I just use Samsung's apps but I hate Samsung's apps and most of the time there are all hidden/disabled.
All of this started after CMInstaller failed. Is there any way to fix this? More importantly will this stop me from (or mess up) rooting my phone, obliterating Knox and loading Cyanogenmod? Part of me just wants to leave the phone as is since it still works (for the most part) but another, bigger part of me wants to remove Samsung's hold on my phone even more than before."
Hi,
I will have your thread moved to your device section so those that own your device can help.
Good luck!
Problably your problems are caused by CM-installer. Espec., because it tries to change recovery, too. Very comfortable, very fragile. I suggest to rebuild everything. You loose all your settings and data except those on extSdCard. Btw: there is no Knox on S3.
Save your data, as much as possible.
DownloadMode. Flash the newest firmware with Odin.
RecoveryMode. FactoryReset.
You should have a working system now. If yes:
DownloadMode. Root with cfAutoRoot and Odin.
Flash TWRP2.8.1.0 with Odin.
FullWipe. Flash any custom-rom, you want. FactoryReset.

Memory unavailible after Foldermount

I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Trend (GT S7390).
My phone doesnt support Link2SD, so I downloaded Foldermount.
I got the "Foldermount has detected a faulty module" message and clicked "solve".
After this my phone acts in an extremely strange way. When I open storage settings, it is written that There is no space availible on internal memory, and I cannot access it - for example, I cant take screenshots anymore (I get a "memory low, delete some files" message), but when I take my SD card out of the phone, it continues working, even though the file browser shows that internal memory is empty and unaccessible (If I try to create a file in internal memory, I get a "permission denied" error). All this is extremely strange, because I dont know where the hell are my files and how does the phone work if it says its empty, but I can download applications with no memory warning. Moreover, this is very inconvinient, because I cant store anything on the phone and many apps dont work. I didnt find anything similar in the internet. Could you please help me?

[Help!!!] Lost access to internal storage after flashing the TWRP and official ROM

I've downloaded the lastest official ROM, and installed it within TWRP.
Everything seemed to be okay after rebooting into the system.
While I found i was not able to download the wallpaper from web browseror to take pictures due to lack of storage.
I'm not able to upload pictures here, so will try my best to describe the situations:
1. after opening camera, it pops out "Turn off camera? /n Insert an SD card before using the camera. /n Cancel or Turn off"
2. when i try to save something from web browser, it says "couln't save due to limited storage space."
3. opening the file manager, I do find internal storage shown at the bottom, indicating 50.20 GB/total 64.00 GB. But opening it, only two folders appear, namely "Android" and "TWRP".
I wondered if it was caused by some read-only issue to the system drive, but I did allow TWRP to modify the system partition upon booting the rec.img.
I've tried a few rounds, the problem is still there. and my yota 3 is kind of a brick to me now.
Help me, please.
My yota3+ also lost the ability to write to the internal memory (possibly after I've inserted a sd card and decline formatting it). Searching for a solution only come up with a very old thread on HTC which involved commands on a rooted phone like msdos_fcsk and restorecon. I couldn't try these commands as my phone is not rooted. You can try these if your phone is rooted.
