Cannot figure out why this is happening. i've already replaced both the flex cable as well as the jack itself. All I get is crackling static out of the jack. I've verified with two headphones and the mic input on my laptop. You can tell a song is playing, it's just static instead of words and instruments. What else can I do here? CM11 but I saw this on CM9 as well.

i have an HTC Headphone set, that i got from a touch diamond, apparently when i was using it earlier the person on the other line was saying that they could hear static but when i used the USB Dongle with a pair of 3.5mm headphones they dont hear the static anymore, then i try to plug the headphones on the usb dongle along with the 3.5mm stereo headphones, i unplugged the stereo headset and left the HTC headphones on there, and the person said they dont hear static but when i take it out and just put the HTC headphones back in to the phone they could hear static
is there something wrong with the microphone on the headset? because i flashed a different ROM and still the same, but the good news is, is that i can hear audio from both ear pieces
plz help me out, thanks
I've had this happen to me before. Don't know why but a simple soft-reset seems to do the trick. BTW have you modified the Audiopara csv file to increase or decrease your volume in anyway? MAYBE that has something to do with it but don't quote me on that.
That stupid flimsy connector is breaking......well the wires inside are. I've been through 2 in 6 months
Phone: Samsung Galaxy SII (obviously)
Custom Rom: Cyanogen (ICS version - not sure which)
Problem: Some headphones & microphone socket speakers do not work properly with my headphone jack. All x-mini speakers will take ages to work after plugging into the headphone jack, I will usually need to twiddle it around a lot or take it out and plug it in again to get any response. After it does work, twisting the headphone connector will change the volume of the speakers/headphones. This is the same case with 'JVC HAFX1X Xtreme Xplosives In Ear Canal Headphones', these will often not work for a while, and when they do I will have to twiddle the headphone connector to actually get any bass. This is a real annoyance considering I cannot have my phone in my pocket without the headphone connector getting taped and me losing the bass in my music.
Things I've tried so far: Checking the headphone jack for traces of dust/fluff, cleaning the headphone jack using a cotton bud
As a side note, the only headphones that do work perfectly every time are the 'Sony MDR-V150 headphones'
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated, thanks.
Bump.
bump again :/
so my atrix 4g headphone jack just stopped working properly the other day. first thing i thought i that it could be dirty, so i checked with a flashlight and the jack was clean
right now, the only thing i can hear when having headphones connected is the bass of the songs as a low static distortion while having the phone at maximum volume, if not, i hear nothing.
any ideas what it could be?
Poor connection, either headphones to jack or jack to PCB.
There's already a thread about this.
Its not poor connection, already checked that

Headphone with inline mic issue
I have the MEElectronics M6P with inline mic headphones. When I connect the headphones to the One, it does not recognize that the headphones are connected. All sound goes to the speakers.
Has anyone had similar issues? The HTC one will recognizes headphones without an inline mic. I believe the issue is with the length of the jack.
It's very disappointing I can't use my everyday headphones with the One. Attached is a picture of the jack on the headphones.
I'm having trouble with my headphone jack. Audio only comes out if I start the sound on the speaker and then plug in. If I start with the headphones in I get nothing. Its odd. Running the new AOKP. Has been an issue since before that though. Not the usual static or tight jack problem.
