So,
I changed the charging port for my S2 few days ago.
Now it keeps shutting itself down when it starts to prepare SD card.
Could it be because my phone is rooted and I don't have the SD card anymore?
I haven't yet tried to do anything as I thought you guys would know a little more about this weird problem.
Once again sorry for horribly written thread.
Thanks in advance

I did a small amount of googling and found that it's a pretty common problem. I had it when I first got the phone, along with the sd card issues, so I figured if I replaced the sd card and stuck on a custom rom all would be well.
I was wrong. all sd card issues are gone but tue phone still randomly turns off about twice a week. I have only used void echo and now LOL 1.4.2.
Has anyone solved this? Does using a different firmware help, or is that the same as a custom rom?

does it turn off completely or does it restart. my phone restarts but never turns off completely.
what class sd card do you have?
It's not the sd card, which is class 6. Other people have out happen even when no sd card is used.
The phone turns completely off while the screen is off, and gives no warning. out happened just now actually, I left out in the lunch room an hour ago, and when I came back it was off.

So, is there a difference between firmware and rom?

I have been running MeanBean for about a month now. I use the lockscreen wake lag when running his rom. For the ppl not familiar with this mod it keeps the phone from going into deep sleep. While running MeanBean I never encountered the problem of my ext sd remounting when I unlock my phone. About an hour ago I switched to bean build 12 that allows my phone to go into deepsleep. Now some of the time when I unlock my phone it remounts the ext sd card. I know Alot of ppl have been having issues with the SanDisk 32gb cards. I think by not allowing the phone to deepsleep the issue could be resolved. This is just my personal experience and not trying to step on any toes. What do yall think?

Your card is failing. It happens. Supposedly there is a problem with Sandisk cards & Samsung phones. It happened to me with 2 32gb class 10 Sandisk cards. Doesn't affect everyone, but if you google it, you will find several threads on it. https://www.google.com/search?q=gal...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I know about that. I have had the issue for months until I swapped roms. Hadn't had the issue for a month while using MeanBean. I switched and immediately started having card issues again

Hello XDA Community,
My Phone started to make me angry the last 3 days. I have this little problem, I always get a warning "SD Card has been removed". But the thing is I dont pull the Card out or anything. I tried to turn off the Phone take the SD out and put it back in, It worked for 1 Day, and today the same happend again. To make the SD Card work again, I have to pull it out and put it back in - that gets pretty annoying.
Anyone of you guys have the same issue? What do you think could this be? An Phone Issue or maybe my SD is damaged?
G

I Also had this issue (eventually it wouldnt Mount at all) and it turned out to be a corrupted sdcard. Pop the sdcard in your computer and run a scan and repair any damage on the sdcard

You may Have to Replace it though if nothing works and you cant recover any data (if you can then start making backups Now)

So, I copied the whole SD on my PC. Formatted it, let Windows (chkdsk) check the Card but no errors were found. Ive tried another Programm (Easus Partion Manager), checked the Card with the Programm, but it was the same, no Errrors. So I copied everything back on my SD, lets hope that it works now.
Thanks for the help anyway.

Try to run a badblocks utility to make sure it has no bad blocks.

Test your memory card.

Sounds like it's on the verge of failure, plug into a card reader back it up then return it to the vendor for replacement.

Either it is about to die OR it is not inserted properly... Try pressing just little more inside...
Hello
I keep getting this error on my phone after trying to wake it up from stand by "micro sd card removed unexpectedly"
I tried formatting it, and still same problem. I made sure that it's in it's place perfectly, same problem.
I'm not using a cheap sd card, its a SANDISK ULTRA HC card, 32 gig!
Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks
No, but I had this problem on a past phone. Mine required replacement. ..the SD card.

Ya I had that same issue with that same card with my galaxy s3. I replaced the card with one specifically designed for Smart phones and the problem went away

I think it may be a card issue as if I remember correctly in some of the threads in the ATT S4 General forum a lot of people have issues with the sandisk cards.

I think it has something to do with Samsung as I have that exact card and never had issues with it in an HTC my touch phone my stepdaughter was using at the time, however I did with my s3 and N2...
