Hello everyone!!!
I have an HTC Desire XD (dual sim) PROTODUG with HTC Sense 4+ and software 2.28.401.1 and kernel 3.4.0-ge781ba0.
Edit: using FastbootCommander I retrieved my CID which it's a HTC__405...
Lately I expect lots of freezing during booting android and during use of applications where sometimes I am forced to remove battery to reboot, and sometimes hold power button and reboot and it creates HTC errors report to send to HTC.
But bootloader works OK since it loads that menu with those three green androids at bottom..
I suspect that could be software bugged which I also read around version 4.1.1 is bugged for this device. What do you think?
I was thinking to try to reinstall RUU stock but lemme guess, as I read around, that 4.1.2 rom is not for dual sim... Maybe shall I have to install a cyanogemod indeed? If yes, since it freezes how I could install it and which version is ok for this device?
Otherwise shall I have just to send it to HTC support for a RMA?
Thanks in advance for your comprehension to dissolve my doubts..
Cheers,
Luigi

Hello guys i have a problem with my HTC HD2.
I have searched a lot on this site before posting my problem.
This is what happens and what i did:
The phone doesn't pass the white HTC screen with the RGD letters below.
What i have tried:
HSPL 2.08.HSPL, 1.66, 1.42, 2.08.000
Radio: Leo_RADIO_2.08.50.05, Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
Roms: Stock Vodafone (Dutch) rom, Energy rom
Hard reset (vol up +down on startup).
Tried task 29 and started everything all over again
I went to the a phone store, they couldnt help me. Afterwards i went to the official store but i don't have my receipt anymore so i don't have a warranty..
So i think i have tried everything i could find on this forum. Tried most of the HSPL versions with diferent roms. But all of them stay on the startup screen (white htc start screen)
If someone can help me please, this is really my last chance
Thanks,
Issam
ps. i hope this is the good section to post this problem.
Well the phone starts up now (it actually works for a few minutes!). I haven't changed anything, the only thing i did is leave the battery out for like 1 hour. But everytime i start up the phone it freezes and / or turns of after 1 min or something. Sometimes it doesn't even boot up like the usual problem, but then i remove the battery for 10 minutes and it boots normal again.
So i really don't have a clue
i was experimenting all day again with my htc.
What i found out was, the longer i keep my battery out of the phone the longer i can use it.
For example: I had the battery out of the phone for about 2 hours, when I put it back in i could use it for like 10 minutes.
But when i keep the battery out for 10 minutes it freezes within 1 minute.
Maybe this will help me get the solution to this problem.
I would format the sd card just in case, also make sure you have the correct versions of what you need, rom raido ect, because theres two types of HD2s, hope this helps!!
Thanks for the reply, i tried formatting the SD card and i succeeded doing it 5 times i think. I think i have the correct version of rom and radio, how do i know?

You should remove hspl , and after that install the latest rom available on htc site for your device (download the rom from htc site, with your serial number ) . Official roms have included radio inside of them. If HSPL is removed and you have again problems with your device with an official rom installed, then you have a hardware problem. You could try to boot up without sd card installed, to see if the card is the problem.
Thank you,
I will try removing HSPL and install the original ROM from the HTC site. I'll let you guys know.

I see that you are on t-mobile network , so you should download your rom from here: http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/ . Just enter your imei and download the update. Remove HSPL and then install the official rom. Perform a hard reset after that , and see if is all ok . Keep us informed pls.
Hi, yes i have a T-mobile contract, but my phone is Vodafone branden so i'll have to download the Vodafone version I think.
But what i just did is this:
I had HSPL 2.08.HSPL and a Custom ROM on it. So I was planning on maybe sending it back. Thats why I performed a task 29 to delete all the previous (parts of the) Roms. After that i changed my HSPL to 1.66.000, the original spl I had on it.
But now the phone does vibrate when i hold the power butten (with vol down), but there is no picture, so i cant get into the phone or the Red green blue screen. So i think the phone will not boot because I deleted the Rom on the phone and also returned the spl to original.
Is there a solution for this problem? omg this phone just doesn't seem to be working for me (maybe it's me that is not working for the phone).
It is normal since you did a task29. Verify if you did it correctly here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644781
Yes i have read that thread thank you, but the question is:
How can i get the phone to connect with my PC, so I can install original ROM. Because the Boatloader screen won't start up, to make connection with my Computer. I press the power button and vol down butten at the same time. Tried it at least 20 times
Thanks you all. But i sent this phone back to HTC. The board was replaced and they sent it back, so it works again! finally my phone back

have you changed roms, yet? if so, to what? installed any recent programs?
also, if it is new...just return it. get a new one.
yup its new but i cant return the unit co'z its already in the pihilippines, bt bout the rom i didnt insltall anything coz i dont know how,..pls help me how my friend
well since you can't return it, you have a few options, in my opinion.
first, i would just hard reset (factory reset)-- this wipes all of your phone and restarts it.
if that doesn't work, i would try to flash a new rom (with task29).
if that doesn't work, the problem is hardware. not sure what to do besides new getting new one....
ill try to flash a new rom, bt can u pls elp me how?
same problem

good luck!
I still have the same problem after HSPL and a new ROM. ( It can be fixed????
sorry, i am out of ideas. the only other option is flashing a different radio, which i don't know really how it would help. but if you have a new radio, new rom and still happens, well i think it would be hardware. anyone else with ideas?
another experiment is putting android on your phone and see what happens...if that hangs, etc. then definitely hardware.
sorry i don't have more ideas.

I think we all have a hardware problem in our HD2's .... same issue here i think:

Hello All,
I got my HTC One X+ from Vodafone UK, it is currently on Software Version 1.14.161.18.
I'm having problems updating it to version 1.17.161.7. After downloading the update, I try to install it but when it boots to update the software, a RED QUESTION MARK appears on the mobile icon, the software DOES NOT update & the phone boots into the Android OS. I've tried several times but still the same problem occurs.
My battery is 100% charged. I unplugged my phone so it was wasn't charging but I still encountered the same problem. What do I do ? CHEERS in advance.

I had exactly the same issue!
I tried to Update like 10 times, always getting stacked into that screensymbol with the red Answer/Questmark on it.
First question:
Did you encrypt your phone?
I'm not sure, but I guess it had something to do with that.
I'm not pretty sure about what causes the problem, but I can tell you the way i fixed the problem:
1. Get a proper recovery like that one of Lloir (THANKS to him!) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074244
2. Get haason's toolkit (Thanks!)
3. Flash the new recovery.
At this point I guess, it could help.
I've done serveral steps in one row, that's why I'm not sure about what causes the problem.
Try this first, propably it will work out fine.

Hey guys,
I've had my hands on a HTC Mozart yesterday that was appareantly broken. When i tried to start the phone it would simple be stuck on the HTC boot logo. I thought it was bricked or something and because of that i procedeed to flash the phone with RSPL and then HSPL and try both Dynamics 2.0 and Deepshining 7.0. The thing is, when those custom ROMs were installed, the phone wouldn't be stuck on the HTC logo but it would function normally for 1 minute or so and then reboot, this happened over and over, i wasn't even able to get past the configuration options.
I then tried to install the stock ROM again (Orange FR) to see if the phone would finally function normally. The result was that it was back to the first problem.. stuck it in HTC boot logo.
Any sugestions on how to make this phone work? I'm a newbie in the windows phone scene, so any help would be appreciated.
Btw, sorry for my bad english.
Hi there! Please try other rom, like the one's from ultrashot. I had that problem with DS rom's, and i was able to solve it temporarily by uninstalling Windows Mobile Center from the rom, but after a few weeks it started again. WIth ultrashot rom (7.5 or 7.8) the reboots never appeared!

Dont know. Maybe you've done something wrong during the flash process.

Flash any custom which allows you to boot for 1 minute at least and then go Settings/About to check the available memory. If it's zero - change the SD-card. Looks the same like it was with my wife's Mozart when the stock card died. Not sure - but it's worth to try....
As I was nervously trying to install a custom rom, i wipe everything off my device ( HTC Desire X ds ), as per required by the instruction. But before in could install the rom, the device shut itself off. Now I can't even start it on bootloader, it just simply display a black blank after a short htc logo appears. Then after a while it vibrate 7 times in a row. What should I do to fix this, please help me out guys!! BTW thanks in advance

After looking at similar situations to the problem you have, I would try pulling the battery and then seeing if your able to get into the bootloader or recovery mode even. If you aren't able to I would recommend taking a look at this thread where users of the Desire HD ran into a similar problem to yours. Overall, unfortunately warranty or a service center may be the only option for your phone, or JTAG.
Yea, pretty sure that's the built in HTC SOS message for motherboard failure. Sorry. :/ If it makes you feel any better, the chance that was caused from you wiping the phone is next to nil. Think it was just bad timing. These things happen to non modified phones and doing resets and even wiping the system would not cause the motherboard to crap out. Previous comment was right about a JTAG service or sending it directly to HTC would be the only options.
Thanks guys
