Hey Man Thanks For The Mention.
My Phone has gone to Vodacom for repairs so I unfortunately cant test it.
I made a single script to unlock bootloader and install this CWM but again I cant test it because I dont have a phone, but it should work.

thanks bro, completely working :good:
I'm getting an error when I tried to backup my phone.
EDIT: my fault. I only had 800 mb when I performed the back up. It works like a charm. thanks
Nice one, I'm really thankful to this people because I was able to build a touch CWM for this device just because of their work. Later in this week i will release it.

I'd say stay away from doing much to your phone if it's confusing. Bricking a device is no fun I hear.

Which recovery are you trying to install?
The best experience will be to flash Romracer's recovery through fastboot. If you are unlocked and follow the instructions, you should not have a problem.

Taken from tayshun12's great guide here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302423 .
My suggestion is in red. If you are already correcting the name then sorry and good luck.
Proper Recovery:
1. After your bootloader unlocked go to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204500
2. Scroll down to where it says "ALL USERS" and download your favourite colour. (NOT THE ZIP VERSION) Rename the file to recovery-atrix5.img instead of recovery-some-color-atrix5Place it in the motounlock folder that you have on your desktop.
3. Press the windows key + R on your computer, type cmd and press enter
4. A Command prompt will open. type cd C:\users\YOURNAME\desktop\motounlock press 'enter'
5. type "fastboot devices" Press Enter.
5b. type "fastboot erase recovery" Press Enter.
5c. type "fastboot flash recovery recovery-atrix5.img" Press Enter. Be certain that you have renamed the file to recovery-atrix5.img instead of recovery-some-color-atrix5
Wait for the command prompt to say : "writing 'recovery'... OKAY ['The amount of seconds it took here']"
5d.type "fastboot reboot"
DO NOT FORGET TO DO THIS PART: After the install of RomRacers recovery boot up your phone. Open up your favourite file browser (I used Astro file manager to do this ) and navigate to /system/etc/ and delete the file called 'install-recovery.sh'
You will be set 100% !

problem flashing recovery
I had a similar problem flashing recovery with fastboot method. It would flash the recovery successfully in seconds, but it would not load recovery properly. It didn't matter if i tried to enter it from key combination or Rom Manager the phone would just load the recovery image and not the recovery options.
I was somewhat successful with the procedure found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302423 sticky by Tayshun12. flashed latest clockwork mod touch recovery 5.8.1.8 by following procedure at the end of the first post. Delete install-recovery.sh from both locations,(don't forget to backup file first) it is the same file in both locations. Install Rom Manager from Google play after removing files. Flashed touch recovery with the option in rom manager (paid versions of rom manager and touch through play store) after that the recovery works perfectly. I didn't mind having to pay for them to work properly. Good luck, pm me if you need to and I will try to help.

It should have taken only seconds to install. In the command you have to type the name of the recovery your installing. I personally use touch recovery on the atrix. But you have to check the name of the file, it has to be the same name as your command. I suggest you read the instructions carefully again, there should not be any problems.
i can read i tried it on my atrix and it didnt't its a t-mobile uk so am confused

Help Please
My HTC one X+ recently underwent water damage. I took it to a cell phone repair store said it had no visible damage inside.
Bootloader works, Recovery works (TWRP), Boot animation works, everything seems to work.
The issue is that after it boots up it displays a black screen with the notification bar at the top.
I probably didn't give enough info, so don't hesitate to ask for more info.
Hi Marshall,
Do you have any sort of previous ROM backup? Which ROM was on your phone at the time in went "underwater"?
If I was in your situation here is what I would try, if your phone is detected by Windows and you can access the storage naturally.
Reboot in Recovery
Make a backup of my actual ROM
Make a full wipe, (factory reset, system, Cache & Dalvik)
Flash any intend ROM
Flash boot.img & Erase Cache
Reboot
There are some chances that your phone could boot normally. :fingers-crossed:
Recovering deleted photos & video
Hello,
I accidently deleted some pictures and videos on my HTC One Plus X and was wondering if there was some way to recover them. I tried some third party software but none of them would recognize the phone when it was plugged into the computer (although the computer recognized the phone). I looked on the Google Apps store and there are two apps that will do it if it was installed prior to the deletion. So those won't help me. I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know if they have had any luck getting back the deleted pictures and video. Thanks and have a great day.
Jon
Hi jeepdawg90,
It should have a way to, but I have nothing to share unfortunately. This phone is built with a data/media instead of an SD card and this means a totally different way to access the storage and all the usual arsenal of useful tools are ineffective to recover deleted files on this kind of partition. Let's wait to see if a developer can help you. One thing is certain, the less you are using your phone the more files can be restored IF it is possible. The closest I can help you, is by giving you this thread to read.
Pleaase help me!

Hi earprone,
First let me ask if you have a working SDK/ADB/HTC's Driver combinaison tools in perfect working order? If not this is the first step to do, otherwise it will be very difficult for you to recover a functional phone.
Please look in my signature and click to access a tutorial to do accordingly if your are on Windows based computer. Plug your phone on the charger during this time. Please don't hesitate to ask if something is unclear or your are not certain to perform, we are here to help!

Hi earprone,
Which ROM you are planning to install on your phone? Also please do confirm that you have an International (ENRC2B) model.
As for your WiFi and DATA issues flashing the correspondent boot.img of your actual ROM could be the first solution to try.

Im planning to install Vipermod... I do have and international one x+.. i've done the install sdk thing i think im successful cause i can reboot my phone now thru pc by typing adb reboot as you said in your tutorial..:victory:
Hi earprone,
Great, this is a good news.
Let's install your new recovery now.
Download this TWRP Recovery for the International version (ENRC2B) : HERE
Once downloaded to simplify the operation rename your file like this : TWRPrecovery.img
Take this TWRPrecovery.img file and Copy/Paste it in the platform-tool of your SDK folder.
TIP : Since your are in the platform-tool folder you can create a batch file to open a command window right from your Desktop.
Do this directly into the platform-tools folder.
Right click on an empty space and select Create New text document
In the new text paste this : c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
Save it with this name StartADB.bat (important to save it with .bat extension and overwrite the warning)
Now right click again on your new .bat file, and create a shortcut to your Desktop.
Now try to : adb devices your phone via your new Start ADB batch file directly form your Desktop shortcut with your phone plugged on your USB cable.
If you have a serial number as confimation you have done it right!
This a ONE TIME OPERATION TO DO, IT WILL WORK AS LONG AS THE SHORTCUT WILL BE ON YOUR DESKTOP.
Time to plug your phone on your USB cable if it is not already plugged.
Click on Start SDK, in the command window type at the prompt > adb devices (Enter)
Confirmation of the serial.
At the prompt type >adb reboot-bootloader (Enter)
The phone will reboot in bootloader mode.
Make sure the FASTBOOT USB is highlighted.
At the prompt type >fastboot flash recovery TWRPrecovery.img (Enter)
If Success is achieved, type again at the prompt >fastboot erase cache (Enter)
You now have TWRP Recovery installed.
Unplug your USB cable and hit Power button one time.
Select Recovery with your Volume rocker.
Hit Power button one time.
Your phone should reboot in Recovery
Familiarize yourself with it.
Click on BACKUP and perform a full backup of your actual ROM even if it is buggy.
Once done REBOOT System.
This is it, your are ready to flash the ROM of your choice. explanation in the next post. Please do confirm this was successful before continuing.
How to flash your desired ROM
Then the previous instructions were all working as they should and now you want that wonderful ROM from that thread, right?
Once you have selected the ROM for your model version INTERNATIONAL OR AT&T/TELUS, simply download it.
Take also the correspondent boot.img that need to flashed just before or just after (doesn't really matter) the ROM installation.
Transfer your ROM.zip at the root of your internal storage of the HTC ONE X+ via your USB cable.
During the is transferring on your phone simply extract the boot.img that match your ROM, rename it for an easier recognition (i.e. Viperboot.img, Eleganciaboot.img, ARHDboot.img, etc) Copy/Paste it in your platform-tool folder (SDK)
Leave your phone plugged to your USB cable
Click on Start SDK, in the command window type at the prompt > adb devices (Enter)
Confirmation of the serial.
At the prompt type >adb reboot-bootloader (Enter)
The phone will reboot in bootloader mode.
Make sure the FASTBOOT USB is highlighted.
At the prompt type >fastboot flash boot insert_your_boot_image_here.img (Enter)
If Success is achieved, type again at the prompt >fastboot erase cache (Enter)
You now have a customized boot.img installed.
Unplug your USB cable and hit Power button one time.
Select Recovery with your Volume rocker.
Hit Power button one time.
Your phone should reboot in Recovery
(!! The following instruction are with TWRP Recovery installed !!)

Hey thank you i've done flashing a ROM on my hox+.. thank you so much for the help! :good: :good: :good: :good:
Congrats my friend!
Never hesitate to ask for help if your are stuck, remember to always backup before doing any modification and have fun exploring all the cool ROM's offered for the HOX+, you will find one that will suit your needs.
Also take the time to rate this thread if you found it helpful.
Lucky Thirteen, you are always for TWRP Recovery and against CWM. I saw it in different threads. As I'm comming from HTC HD2 forum, CWM is soooo native and so close to me. And sure I flashed CWM. But now, after saw several people like you and Loir saying only TWRP... i'm in doubt.
Can you please point me to some info about the difference between CWM and TWRP? Why Loir is saying that CWM is a crap? For me, an average user who only flashes roms and does some wipes are there any difference?
For me, if I don't want to flash Roms, I want to stay on ViperX+ for a several month, can I live with CWM and reflash to TWRP only when I decide to change a rom? (I really hate flashing ) What about CWM and battery charging... I mean if I ran a total 0 of battery, will I be able to charge my phone when it's switched off if I have CWM?
Thanks in advance.
I have really tried, spent 4 hours searching the web but my phine has been stuck at the htc logo upon booting, I can acess the bootloader and CWM and have the recovery etc. but cant figured out how to "unbrick" my phone, HELP! please!

May I ask why you want to relock your bootloader?
If your phone is not charging, it's probably because your Recovery is not the latest to date.
@muhhh351
You should flash a Recovery known working on charging mode, the first releases were lacking this mode, but this is resolved now. Click on Frequently Asked Questions in my signature everything is there for you to find about HOX+ and their recoveries.

TWRP is more complete and a rigourously tested recovery. CWM was modded to work on the HOX+.
First make sure your SDK tool (adb) is correctly installed and also the HTC's drivers. (There is a link for a tutorial in my signature.)
Download the correspondent recovery for your phone International OR AT&T/Telus (N.B. Links are available in the Sticky FAQ)
Flash the Recovery.
Clear Cache
Reboot in Recovery
Install your correspondent version of any ROM.zip you want that is already on your storage. (Otherwise,Sideload a ROM to be able to flash one inRecovery)
Flash the boot.img of your desired ROM
Clear Cache Again
Reboot
Should work

I tried to be polite (anyway I am not allowed to talk like that, I never developed any sort of app, neither a ROM or kernel so I am not very qualified to judge others work), I'm sure you understood what I meant.
And yes I agree everything is way more complicated and unstable with CWM.
Please help. I'm having same problem. I can get into bootloader and fastboot and even successfully installed recovery but I can't get into recovery bc I always go to that white htc screen and no idea what to do next. Please please help me. I am on 1.15 software and 1.32 hboot and 4.1.1 Android version

Reboot your phone in Bootloader mode (fastboot) you should have this 4 choices :
HBOOT
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
leave HBOOT highlighted then press the power button once, a new menu will appear :
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
SHOW BARCODE
IMAGE CRC
From there with the Volume control (up & down) simply select RECOVERY and press Power button one time, your phone should Reboot in Recovery mode.
When in Recovery mode the VERY FIRST thing you will do, is a complete backup of your actual ROM and you will keep it as long as you gonna own the phone, so put this backup in a safe place on your computer and make sure to never delete it.
Thank you but the thing is.. I put twrp on it and version 2.3.3.0 and it won't boot in it. Any ideas why? Then I looked for a more recent recovery and I wasn't sure if this is evita?? So, basically I'm still unable to get into recovery and it goes to that htc white screen.
Btw. Your instructions are excellent

OK I will give you a trick...
Navigate to platform-tools of your SDK folder.
Right click and create a New text document
In the new text paste this : c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
Save it with this name : StartADB.bat (important to save it with .bat extension and overwrite the warning)
Now right click again on your new bat file, and create a shortcut to your desktop.

Contact flipkart ASAP!
^ Contact flipkart ? The OP has unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. The OP also installed Chainfire 3D and modified the software of the device. If I were flipkart owner/staff, even I would'nt help such customers frankly.
What I suggest is, you remove the modifications made by Chainfire 3D to the system if any via adb in TWRP.
If you decided to root your device you should always remember, "With great power, comes great responsibility".

If you had took a backup of the ROM before all these, restore that backup from TWRP else,
Flash the stock firmware by following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2756609
I've no idea why you install CF-3D in the first place because the dev has clearly mentioned its supported till GB, and not further beyond even though its reported to work on ICS/JB devices. So you should've took some precautions before attempting these kind of risky operations.

Also remember that you can run 'adb logcat' when you boot up the phone. This will show any errors if you get stuck in a bootloop.

If you want to get everything from startup to crash, power of the device while it's plugged into to your USB port, run the command then power on. You should hopefully get a full boot up log and any fatal error messages.
Most common boot loop issue I tend to see is usually bad permissions after installing stuff. You can fix that in TWRP recovery tho.
Bit late tho sorry
I too did the same thing... Ie installed chainfire 3d on a Jb phone...luckily I knew how to flash stock ROM via ODIN ( it was a Samsung)
Anyway chainfire alternative on JB KK phones is GLtools
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n0n3m4.gltools
Also do not forget to keep the zip file and flash it in case your phone does not boot up after installing! The zip file gets automatically copied to sdcard I think for later emergency flashing

I'm a complete beginner at all of this, but im trying to prepare for the LG flash tool for my Nexus 5 to fix its display issue(blank/black screen) i see now i need to edit a file deep in the filesystem (sdcard/ i think? Idk its a misc.img) and to do this i need to have rooted my phone. This morning i already installed a custom boot recovery Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) so i was wondering before i do the root procedure after i get off work, did i already root the phone when i installed the custom recovery or is that a totally different procedure??
Thank you for the help, I'm having a lot of difficulty (learning experiences..) doing this. Also if anyone can help me out, i have a huge post of all my concerns, issues in bitdomos great lg flash tool thread for nexus 5 here. (Cant post direct links because new user status, sorry!)
h ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-images-lg-t2713833/page14
And feedback to these issues would be a great help, thank you!

No. You must install the proper su binary via recovery, which will therefore make your device rooted. A custom recovery in and of itself does not cause your device to be rooted.
You can find the latest SuperSU zip which is flashable in recovery in the thread linked below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
Thanks for the reply! Also thanks for moving the thread to a proper place, i appreciate it! I also made a duplicate thread in the nexus 5 general and if that isn't allowed, my apologies I wont mind if you need to delete this thread.
I'm wondering how to install/(flash)(I'm still unfamiliar with the term flashing, for my mind i just assume its similar to installing?) supersu through my twrp recovery. Thing Is my phone has a black/blank screen issue where it cant display and when o go to the recovery screen from fastboot i can only see the twrp screen for 5-10 seconds. I think it would be enough time to select a button if i had to but only one probably. Thanks for the help
