and how do i do that??
thank you
At first I want to tell you that I don't have lenovo P780, but I have lenovo a369i. Since both devices have mediatec chipsets so we both can flash original official rom using sp flash tool.
This is the link where you will find official rom
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/general/stock-rom-lenovo-p780-official-stock-t2656441
note: if you previously have rooted your phone and voild your warranty then this process will regain it if you
flash back the proper stock ROM.
And please read everything on this thread before doing anything

and also I think you should flash a custom recovery CWM/TWRP and should take a nandroid backup before doing anything, also don't forget to backup nvram (in case you lost your IMEI/Wifi mac address, flashing nvram will regain it)
This is the process for flashing custom recovery

I forget to tell you that install USB driver first for your phone before using sp flash tool
I had the same problem with same phone, All it took me was uninstalling my bluelight filter app. Sometimes, think it the simple way

I'm a reasonably a new member to this forum site, and today I noticed a rom in rom manager. I decided to install it. It was all going smoothly until I rebooted. It got stuck on the Cyanogen boot logo. Iv tried ever thing. Iv tried restoring it, wiping the system data, wiping the boot. I backed up the phone before I started installing the rom. But now it wont read the backup. If anyone has any answers to this please help.
ROM manager probably didn't factory reset ur phone hence the boot looping. Manually go into recovery ( hold volume up and down and power) when vibrate release power only when in recovery factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, wipe system then flash ROM and jb gapps reboot phone will take a couple of minutes but should start ROM in 5 min or so.

Where the **** is system wipe??
Been awhile for me using cwm. I think under mounts and storage or advanced. I personally use twrp. A lot better plus will help I get passed the question u sent me. Cwm Sux in my opinion and is having to many problems with these ROMs. Twrp gives u easier access to ur wipes and allows u to flash multiple zips.

And if all that and it still fails u have a bad ROM download. U can get the newest cm 10 from get.cm just make sure it is for quincyatt. Any other will brick your phone.

this is the galaxy note forum, not one for a Samsung p5100...
Boot into recovery (Hold Volume Up+Down while powering on) Then navigate to Factory Reset/Data Wipe and confirm, then Format Cache Partition, go into Advanced and Wipe Dalvik Cache and reboot
My phone crashed while installing an app from play store. It required a battery pull, after which it kept getting stuck on the kernel boot logo (I was on a near-latest JellyBam rom with Siyah kernel). So I booted to CWM. Tried a restore. It failed. Tried wiping data, ok, then it crashed on wiping cache partition. Now it won't boot into CWM anymore. It still has download mode.
Meanwhile my wife is pregnant and as you can imagine this is not the best time to end up without a phone!
Suggestions?

Downloaded the new Clockworkmod Recovery from ROM Manager only to find that I could not back up to the external SD Card. So I tried reverting back to an older version (v5.8.4.0) and try backing up again to the SD card.
My phone booted into what appears to be a broken version of CWM where none of the volume and power buttons work correctly. Pressing the volume down only makes the screen scroll down. I can't select anything at all. I can boot into download mode but Odin doesn't recognise my phone. Should I download Samsung drivers and try to flash a stock ROM?
This is really stressing me out as I'm afraid I might have screwed my phone up! Any help is greatly welcome.
[SOLUTION]: Flashed a stock ROM and gave myself a stern talking to.
Just flash a stock ROM, sure

I noticed
Also Recovery version 6.0.2.7 refuses to mount external SD card. Any suggestions for an alternative to ROM manager? Or should I just uninstall it from my current ROM?

Have you flashed back to a stock Rom?
Yeah I have.
Then I suggest rooting with auto root and flashing philz recovery after and if it still won't see the card then you might need to format it.....and personally I always do that in the phone.
Hopefully a clean install, with fresh root and recovery will get it going again, fingers crossed

What do you use Rom manager for anyway?

I don't really use it. It just happened to come with the root file I used.
I tried updating Cyanogenmod but needed the new gapps, but unfortunately I installed the wrong one. Now I have no way to access my phone as I can only see "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped". On top of that, whenever I try to boot into recovery to install the correct gapps, I am greeted by a blank screen. I have tried reinstalling the recovery with Odin and I am getting the same thing. Any help?

Do i have to flash custom rom to use my phone again?

My micromax a114 was rooted..
please provide me steps to deal with this situation keeping in mind that I can only use my phone in recovery option
can’t open playstore to download mobile uncle tool or anything

Yes flash it again or flash your original rom then re download the custom rom and then flash it again
---------- Post added at 09:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:29 AM ----------
Download original rom on sd card from pc then put sd card in mobile then flash that rom (clear cash, etc etc)...then start your mobile errors should stop now then re-download your custom rom and flash it....if still it shows errors then don't use that rom
