[Q] What are the differences between msm8210 and msm8610 - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
Excuse my bad english before all.
I would know what are the differences between the MSM8210 and the MSM8610 snapdragon 200 processors by qualcomm. The Moto E is told to be equipped by the MSM8210 but mine's is equipped by MSM8610.
Thanks.

Which model you are using???

8610 supports more Networks. Region dependent.

@nisu4717 I'm using the XT1022 model, look at the attached picture
@ShadyTurtle334 so these two processors are technically similar, but the difference is the network support?

MSM8210 is a dual core processor while MSM8610 is quad core.

I have a xt1019 and I have the 8610 as well.

The 1.5 GHz Snapdragon in the T-Mo version is not as efficient per clock cycle as the 1.2 GHz Exynos in ours.
The T-Mo version barely has the right to be called a Galaxy S. Other than the screen, it's more similar to HTC phones in design than any Samsung.

It's a good thing for us. Say your prayers
T-mo has to use a slower, yes slower than ours, processor because it needs to use the HSPA+ 42mbps radio chip from Qualcomm.

There's a couple of big differences which should make it outperform a similarly speced HTC phone. Samsung does a much better job with drivers, it has more RAM and 16MB of NAND memory, TouchWiz is 1/4 the size of Sense, and it uses EXT4 vs. RFS for it's file system. While it's not truly a SGS2 variant, it'll probably be a good performer.
You guys have seen the benchmarks on various sites right? It performs well.

It runs at 1.5 in almost every phone, it's a different chip, 1.5 is the correct frequency. Look I love Exynos as much as anyone, fantastic cpu and gpu, but this disinformation spreading about the S3 is somewhat disturbing.

SGS2 HD LTE vs SGS3

So, can anyone tell me how significant an upgrade the SGS3 will be over the SGS2 HD LTE? North American version
-Both are dual core - granted the SGS3 has a new version, supposedly better?
-SGS3 - slightly larger screen - not necessarily a win
-both have pentile Super Amoled HD screens
Is this going to feel like a large upgrade?

He stated he is talking about the North America version. Which it seems will have the dual core S4 instead of the Exynos so it can support LTE

Exactly. GS3 appears to be an S4 processor vs. the GS2 running the S3. How much difference is this going to make?
Also the s voice feature...i assume it will eventually make its way to the GS2s eh?

You have the link to that because everywhere else is reporting differently? Although most are saying it "may not" have the quad core chip. I have seen a lot more speculation that it will have a dual core chip than I have seen that it will be quad core. I guess we really wont know for sure until it's released state side.

I think it would make a pretty big difference considering how much better the S4 chip is over the older snapdragon chip. Although if it does have a dual core in the US I will most likely but the intl version. On HSPA+ in NYC I can get up to 10mbps and usually around 4-7mbps on average which is plenty fast for what I need. I'm on wifi most of the time at home, work and school anyway. Plus I dont have a grandfathered unlimited data package and LTE would burn though my 4gb of data faster. This month I actually went over 4gb for the first time on HSPA+

How to check if phone has Exonys prozessor ?

Can i check before buying new Galaxy S2, if it has Samsung Exynos prozessor ?
thanks from spiro
The normal S2 should always have the exynos processor. I think the LTE version has another processor..

If it's a European model that you're after, just check the model number. The I9100 uses Exynos and the I9100G has a TI OMAP.
Not sure about American models.

Question about this S3.

Okay so on our forum it says the 19300 is quad core exynos with 1gb of ram
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1563
and on amazon another 19300, which i think is the Korean version has quad core snap dragon 2gb of ram with lte
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...UTF8&qid=1343775890&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+s3
i'd get the korean version but will it perform the same way as in the exnyos ROMS will worth on the korean version?
asking because both of them have the same name (19300)
That is ALL wrong, it says unlocked for all gsm networks and has dual core snapdragon at 1.5 GHz and then in the next section says it has a quad core snapdragon at 1.4ghz.
The i9300 has a quad core exynos at 1.4ghz and 1gb ram.
The Korean model has a quad exynos with 2gb ram and LTE.
The american model has a dual core snapdragon with 2gb ram and LTE.
The Korean model isn't called the i9300.
The American models aren't i9300.

How?? I thought quad core wouldn't work with lte? Isn't that why the American ver. had to use the dual core?

theyve added a 3rd party LTE chip, rather than integrating one into the Exonys. makes the device slighlt thicker

Yes I've seen it, dull design and thicker frame but still they said that wasn't possible :crying: and now they go releasing that. I don't really care about the LTE since my country has an unstable and unreliable LTE network but that 2gb ram would have proven useful in performance.

Korea takes their cell phones seriously haha
Usually when you buy a cell phone there you always get 2 batteries and an external charger inside the retail box. I bought my HTC Desire in korea, it was like that. I'm assuming the S3 will be the same deal there.

Firstly don't ressurect old threads, this thread was rubbish to start with and was dead and buried til that other guy resurrected it.
Forum advice: don't resurrect old, dead threads.
Secondly, the description is wrong, its not a snapdragon unless its an american version.
what's confusing about that?
Read further down and it says its a quad exynos, the person that wrote the description is an idiot.

I would guess that you have flashed the dual core firmware and that has deleted the other two cores . I have the same problem trying to update SGS3 to 8 core i keep ending up with only 4 cores .

You're flashing the wrong core file, you have the quad one, get the octo core one from moarcorez.net/download
I upgraded mine to octo core and downloaded more ram too so I now have 2gb of ram and an exynos 8812.

[Q] Qualcomm Sticker

I have a i9305t, Australian version from Telstra. Everything I have read, seems to suggest that this handset has the Exynos Quadcore CPU, with a separate, off-chip LTE modem.
However on top of the handset there is a small Qualcomm 4G sticker.
Why is this there if it's a Sammy processor, not Qualcomm?? Is the LTE modem Qualcomm?
I am pretty sure most LTE modems are Qualcomm. This is the reason that all LTE phones to date really had Qualcomm processors because they wouldn't build the chipset or something for Exynos' and Tegra's.

Well, as far as I'm aware, the LTE (4G) version, of the Galaxy S III has the LTE chip, on the Quad-Core processor..
If I'm wrong, which your thread is sugesting, then the LTE modem is most likely from Qualcomm, after all, it's not exactly like Sammy and Qualcomm are competing, like Sammy is with Apple, so that being said, I'd just ignore it. As long as the device is working and functioning like it should, you're alright!
Hope I could help!
