[Q] Unlock a Re-Locked Bootloader - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

I had my bootloader unlocked and s-off. Long story short, I soft bricked my phone because I was having issues flashing CM11 (don't ask...you can if you want) and had to re-lock the bootloader to flash an RUU to get the phone functioning again.
I am still S-off, but when I went to flash a custom recovery (TWRP), I keep getting errors.
Do I need to "Re-Unlock" my bootloader to install a TWRP and flash the CM11 ROM?
If I do, how do I "Re-Unlock"?
If I don't, how can I flash a custom recovery and CM11 with a Re-Locked bootloader and S-Off?
I did search, but couldn't find a definitive answer...
Thanks in advance for your expertise.

You need a unlocked bootloader to flash a custom recovery. I suggest using the script found here.

EVO 3d CDMA Stuck without rom and cant load one

OK heres the issue I used the htc unlock method and htc dumlock and things were fine for months to make a long story short I forgot what recovery I was using and couldn't nandroid so I went to the market and got rom manager out of habit then the next day my phone flipped out and basically bricked I realized I needed TWRP so know I have that but roms will not load they either freeze or just lead to a boot loop and when I try to re-flash the recovery using the HTCdumlock option so it has the recovery on both for the workaround it will just continue to run and never end. Also when I try to nandroid restore now it will say completed in 0 seconds
I am now without a phone and everything altogether I have been here for a while and know if anyone can help me its u guys and gals.
Thanks
Just get a recovery and flash using fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img for recoveryname is what ever recovery u wanna flash and also get the boot.img from a ROM and flash using fastboot flash boot boot.img and then reboot recovery and and flash ROM and it will be fine...the best recovery is 4EXT recovery smartflash s-on witch u can flash roms regular using the recovery hope it helps

Thanks I actualy used fastboot and flashed back to the old twrp recovery and was able to run my nan backups but they run and the phone just goes back to boot looping i have tried everything i can think and its just back and forth from recovery to boot looping for 2 days streaight now. I'll try the recovery you mentioned though thanks I'll let you know if it works but at this point Im starting to think that I somehoe removed my boot partition and im flashing to nothing
I finaly solved this issue and I want to share for those who may have it.
My main problem was that I had an unlocked bootloader I could not use an RUU without an error and everything I did no matter what let to bootloop.
I simply had to relock my bootloader (To re-lock your bootloader, in the command prompt, type: fastboot oem lock.) Then run the RUU. Aparently RUU's will not work on an unlocked bootloader and now after 2 days finaaly everything is all back to normal.

You always have to relock before using a RUU otherwise you will get a error ..
Like the other user said
You can
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and your set Also works to flash a rom and kernel together if your hboot 1.5
Fastboot boot recovery.img wipe and flash.
And twrp has issue's your better off using 4ext for your custom recovery I'm willing to bet thats the cause of the problem

Need more info. What did you do and what didn't you do in terms of a normal root/s-off procedure?
boot into bootloader, put it into fastboot, flash custom recovery, preferably 4EXT with smartflash enabled
then boot into recovery and install a rom of your choice(that boots with s-on)
[i'm assuming you are unlocked and s-on right now?]
OR
run an RUU to get back to stock

So you unrooted it with a custom recovery and then relocked your boot loader? Or did you just have root. Are you trying to reroot?

the only way to install recovery is by unlocking the bootloader, no way around it

So when I unlock the bootloader again, I would have to flash TWRP/CWM, then flash a ROM in order to get an OS back?
That's it

Installing Recovery After Bootloader

I have a rooted HTC One with a locked bootloader that I would like to unroot back to stock. I had TWRP as a custom recovery before I relocked the bootloader, but cannot use that now because of my locked bootloader. If I unlock the bootloader again, would I have any form of recovery or a ROM?

[Q] How can I restore my AT&T HTC One M8 to Stock using the RUU without S-off?

I am rooted with an unlocked bootloader (went from TWRP back to Stock recovery a few weeks ago). I was reading about the RUU, but someone said you need to be S-off to do it. Is this true? And if not, how can I use the RUU then?
need to know this too mine was rooted bootloader is unlocked but for some reason its s-on
I cannot use firewater cause my phone won't boot past htc logo and when I true ancestor thru twrp it says failed .
I'm pulling my hair out some one help
I don't think you need to be S-Off. But I think you do need to re-lock the bootloader though not sure on that.
relock the bootloader and flash stock recovery, then use the RUU if you want an easy way to relock the bootloader and flash the stock recovery use HTC One 2014 (M8) All-In-One Toolkit from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699065 by hasoon2000
or enter recovery , fastboot, then try running the RUU
fastboot oem lock will lock bootloader again...make sure you have stock recovery, you can boot into bootloader, connect via fastboot mode and run ruu from there
