Hey guys,
I'm using ArchiDroid (JB), but sometimes my i9300 gets really slow, and I want to install a 4.4 ROM, but I don't to lose the camera quality.
Is there already a ROM that does this? I've already tested some KK ROM's (in the past (3-4 months ago)) such as SlimKat, ArchiDroid, NeatROM, etc, but all of them had some kind of problem.
And of course, it has to be stable.
Thanks.

You will have problems and drawbacks with camera in all CM based roms, insted, if you want 4.4 and good cam quality try some of the samsung kitkat ports, there are numbers if them in dev section, but keep in mind they are not perfectly stable yet, for normal use they quietly are, but they also have a bit of drawbacks.

I've already tried this ROM a while ago, but it had so much lag ... I tested it for 2~3 hours, and then I've flashed an AOSP ROM.
Are these ROM's better, now?

Quality over quantity. KA09, CM9, AOKP and AOSP are pretty much everything you can ever need.
I would also like to know about custom roms, especially those based on the stock kernal so us poor sods with a locked bootloader can use them

Don't expect AOSP ROMs, those won't work on Sony's stock kernel.
I have only found ka09 rom and cm9

They are coming ... Be patient..
Until AOSP/AOKP/CM get's going you'll have to go with a rehashed stock..

no idea what they're like, Krabappel seems to be the only one regularly updating. Personally I'm using stock, rooted and all the toss stripped out until we get a working open source build
i know the majority of jellybean and ice cream sandwich roms are unstable in one way or another but im just wondering which on is most suited for a daily rom?
i dont mind having no video or HWA but battery life is a must.
thanks.
currently the cm10 and cm10.1 of epinter are better for atrix. if it is not the problem bluethoot I prefer cm10.1 newest Android

I think you must wait for the new kernel...its comming....and the JB/ICS roms will be perfect.
I have so far used paranoid android, superlite and shendu (current) ROMs. PA and Superlite are very stable ROMs and can easily be used as daily drivers. PA is stronger in customizations, especially the PA patented easy DPI and layout switching is a winner. But using XPosed framework, you can have a similar strength in any other ROM. Superlite is, well.., light. It is a good base for experimental extensions and sort of building your own ROM. However, I had to recently remove it for the dreaded RILJ wakelock problem. Well, the RILJ things is most probably not because of the ROM, but I was also a bit bored and wanted to try a new interface. So I flashed ShenDu. The ShenDu rom is also a very nice rom however it is originally in chinese/korean (I cannot distingiush which is which). A member of the forum helped in fixing it but still there are some annoying chinese/korean text pieces here and there.

It works now thanks to the 3.1.10 kernel from the Kernel team... I can personally confirm that it's all working !
I'm trying epinter cm10.1 latest build of kernel 3.1.10 and everything works fine except front cam and battery life. the rest is perfect. bluethoot works.

Hi I'm new to the nexus 10 and I was wondering if anyone knows of a ROM without any major bugs?
I use it for school so I don't really have time to play around is official cm 10.1 as stable as stock? Or is stock the most stable?
Thanks
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
Stock is always the most stable. None the less my n10 with cm10.1 nightlies runs rock solid. No bugs or reboots. Can only suggest you try it.
Gesendet von meinem HTC One X mit Tapatalk 2
I want to second the cm 10.1 opinion. I ran SentinelROM (based on cm 10.1) for a long time and it was almost perfect. I have since switched to the official cm10.1 nightlies because of bluetooth issues on Sentinel and I am happy to say it is working very well.
Moreover I have found cm10.1 ROMs are the only ones giving a smooth UI performance. On my tablet AOSP ROMs always seem a bit jerky and seem to work with a lower framerate. Hard to put a finger on it but it may be the different Mali drivers but that is just a guess.
There are a ton of ROMs with no bugs, although all the major ones have had a few bugs lately in the last couple builds. Now that the issue has been found out, all the major builds should be stable once again.
Rasbean is built from AOSP source the same as the stock ROM
SaberMod is also built from stock source but with a more unique toolchain
AOKP is built off the AOKP source, there are many variants from official all the way to PUB. Mr.Robinson and Apophis are the most popular
Sentinel is one of the more popular CM10.1 builds
I personally have liked RasSaber the best, which is RasBean with the SaberMod toolchain and optimizations. The ROM is no longer available though.

CM10 or Carbon are good bets, but they will never really be as stable as stock. If you don't have time to mess around and you use your device for school regularly, then using a ROM might not be a good option for you at all, truth be told.

No reboots? Really? How did you manage that one.... It's at least 10 reboots per hour on mine. I can sit there and enjoy the boot logo over and over again while it reboots itself without me even touching the damn thing.
tried them all still end up running team eos rom

10 reboots an hour!?! I might get one a day, this is on stock ROM/ktmanta kernel, rooted and overclocked to 2.1ghz/720mhz. I don't often play games though, mainly browsing and reddit.
CM is in my experience about as buggy as stock or better. It's certainly more stable, at least. I've been getting less reboots since I moved to CM, to the point that I hardly care anymore about the issue.
If you don't care about tablet ui, I recommend sabermod. Pretty fast and stable-

I really love testing new ROMs, but I always find myself going back to stock. What drives me crazy is when someone says "This Works Great!!!! But...", and then they list serious feature issues that people use everyday. Wouldn't that mean the ROM doesn't work so great? Maybe it's working for you but 30 other people list problems. I have an xt912 CDMA and I have yet to install a ROM that doesn't have some form of issues... even final and released builds.
I applaud the programmers and people who spend their free time doing this and making these awesome ROMs, but hopefully some day... there will be no bugs.
What are your thoughts?

I would recommend checking out some builds based on Jelly bean 4.2 or lower. These tend to be much more stable for me. Sadly many of the developers who had done such wonderful work for our device have moved onto newer devices to develop for. Obviously that makes sense for them but it makes it tough to deliver pristine ROMS for us. It's also up to the user. If you can sacrifice a little bit of stability for more customization, custom ROMS are probably for you. If not you may want to stick with your stock ROM and try to google "Xposed Framework" and give that a try. Best of luck!

Yes, I agree completely. The biggest problems are when data or wifi doesn't work that well. Pretty much a deal breaker. Problem for me is, on stock, there's a bug that makes my phone frequently think there is an HDMI plugged in when there's not, so it forces the phone to change orientation. So incredibly annoying. customs roms don't have these problems though. And slimbean worked well for me once, I just hope slimkat gets to be more stable. Right now there is a problem with the wifi, and the battery life is pretty bad. sigh...

i tried gummy 4.4.2 with jbx. it works nice until I start adding my apps, then it slowly gets slower and lags a lot. also, i lose my gps and hdmi functionality. :-/. Maybe its time to go nexus? idk. DROID isnt doing much these days.

If you want a ROM with very few issues, try Aviator Blur 3.0.9. It is 4.1.2 but it has overcocking and is very smooth. It is based off the original stock rom. It has no signal or other major issues. The new CM11 shows promise, but like you said, it still has a few bugs.
Theres always issues
there is always an issue with all roms you cant expect them to fix everything not even stock android is perfect every OS has its faults some more than other thats all.
