[Q] Help needed - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
Im new member and i just want to ask a question. Well i have a lava iris 402 and i think its a good phone but the problem is its internal memory. Its internal memory is too low. I have read some threads to increase internal memory but nothing is workingfor me. I have made 2 partions in my memory card as primary using mini partion tool wizard and then i used link2sd to mount the space but i doesnt work for me and shows an error mount script can't be created error: no such file/directory exist. I then installed mount /system rw/ro and selected mount rw in it and then i installed es file explorer and copied the install-recovery.sh file in system /etc and changed its properties and then restarted my phone but till the poblem retains and link2sd is still showing the same error. I seroiusly need some help. Plz help me asap. Sorry for my bad english....

Link2sd cannot mount 2nd partition

i downloaded the latest link2sd from market.
im on mik's cm7 6.5.7, with franco v19.2
i created a 256 mb ext2 partition using TWRP recovery. ran link2sd, rebooted, didnt mount
everytime i get the messsage: "mount script created, restart ur phone.... If ur getting this message after restarting, this means the 2nd partition cannot be mounted automatically at boot"
i grew suspicious of twrp and prepartioned ext2 uing gparted on my pc (i was using the mount usb storage from the recovery since i dont hv a card reader). no success.
formatted partition as ext3. same result.
formatted as fat32. still nothing.
whats wrong? i can see the 2 partitions clearly when i connect it to pc
if you look in /etc/init.d with root explorer
you can see the the 11link2sd file???
you can try to put the file manually

Just checked.the file is there. To see where's happening, I copied the file to sdcard and ran it manually with script manager.this is the output:
Code:
mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 on /data/sdext2
failed: Device or resource busy
what's this ?
noticed a strange thing. even though that error is occurring, the 2nd partition is actually getting mounted when i manually try the script. but it doesnt get mounted automatically at boot.
is there any way to see the logs or something of the scrpts run at boottime? franco has disabled logcat and dmesg in his kernel. any other way?
I partitioned through clockworkmod and link2sd is working fine.
If I remember right, I think it has to do with the order of partition. The EXT2 partition used by Links2SD had to be the first partition when I put it on my phone.

i tried with cwm, but its not working. the script is right there in init.d folder, it does have executable permissions, and the partition does get mounted on executing the script manually, inspite of the "Device or resource busy" error. only problem is its not getting mounted at boot. doesnt make any sense to me.....
I'm using a 4gb class 2 sd. Does that have anything to do?
Also, after I reboot and mount manually, all the previously linked apps are gone, while I can still see the apks and dexs on my pc, on the 2nd partition
Try this. Uninstall link2sd, reboot, reinstall link2sd and convert your ext partition to ext3.
If by chance you had used some other linking tool like apps2sd etc., before trying link2sd, it could also cause 'loading at boot' problems.
Hope this helps
Reinstalled link 2 sd. Didn't help.finally I had to do a full wipe and reinstall cm7. Now it works

where to put that file??
Tried all the above to no avail
I have an LG-D320. It worked fine when I first rooted it. After months of use, the sd went bad. Bought a new one and partitioned it. Again, everything was fine. Then it just stopped recognizing the second partition- ext2. I have since tried everything from repartitioning, unrooting and rerooting, linux swap partition, ext3, ext4, resetting to factory, upgrading with LG Mobile support tool, Checked out the script in the 11link2sd, installing init.d toggle as the init.d folder didn't exist, ... I still get "the 2nd partition cannot be mounted automatically at boot" no matter how often I uninstall/reinstall link2sd restart and the such. Seems to me that either the permissions are asque or the mount is wrong. I am really over my head with this one. Can anyone offer a solution, please? P.S. It mounts the fat 32.
Maybe the new one is defective.

[Q] [CM9-NFE6.0] [P-500] [Link2sd] 2nd partition lose format at reboot

Hello everyone, this is my very (noob) first thread, and is a question.
I've started reading xda forums like 3 days ago, for like 12 hours each day... and its an amazing comunity of knowledge. Osom.
Well... ive been trying to set a 2nd partition on my 32gb C10 SD for extend internal memory with link2sd on my OptimusOne... on the way i learned how to mod, terminal mount and modify, recover, and all the stuffs that could make this work... but i surrender.
I can make it work formating SD with mini-tool partition wizz, conecting device to PC, and seting into USB massive storage mode (yeap! Worked indeed!!) but if i reboot 2nd Part. lose format and link2sd report error on mounting 2nd partition (says its invalid, mini-tool says it's unformated)... for re-mount i have to re-format with mini-tool and wipe the data... so i've avoided linking any app.
Readed about NAND lock (my device is by default unlocked), /system permisions, and others... and i simply cant make 2nd partition stays at FAT32. (yes, i tried with the other formats too, formated with CWM on recovery mode too and nothing).
Tried this too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971689, and didn't work for me.
Last discover was that via Root Browser app, /system file has no "Sticky" permision, if i modify it then busybox and other apps fail and run into recovery mode... (had to reinstal everything several times)
I know there is some kind of permision that i missed... but could be kernel config?
The most simply thing and i cant make it work... ideas?

Cannot format /emmc

Hi guys, I'm new here!
I'm having some problems with my S2 with NeatRom SuperLite. When I try to access to gallery or download some files, I get the error message: "Not enough space. Delete unused items..... etc" . I found that I have a .Trash-1000 folder that has lot (!!!) of 2/3 Gb files! The problem is that I can't delete this folder, if I try with a file explorer I get a "can't delete this file" or "permission denied", if I try from Linux terminal I get "file system is in read-only mode".
I also tried to format /emmc from recovery or simply re-installing NeatRom, with no results.
What can I do?
okey i had this problem to,
step 1:
got to storage or if you get a notifaction about formatting your internal sd card or external sd card
step 2:
reboot
or
step 1:
downlaod root explorer
step 2:
locate your sddisk1 or sddisk0 or exdisk (external disk) and you see that is says ro(read-only), now that needs to be rw (read-write)
step 3:
reboot
or
step 1:
use any recovery mode, not the stock, use like cwm
step 2:
go to mount/storage
step 3:
mount everthing
srry i did this everthing, and suddenly i got fixed, i don't nog exact what was the fix ;D i hope it is fixed
The sII mounting paths seems to be different of other phones.
storage/SdCard0 - Internal Storage
storage/ExtSdCard - External Card Storage
storage/UsbDriveA to UsbDriveF - External storage connected by Usb Port using OTG Cable
/ - ROM Storage
I recomend ES File Explorer as your file explorer
+1
I was with same problem with teamxd rom. I could not delete any file. I made a full factory reset with erase all storage and get bootloop. After that I flashed many different roms but in all roms my all audio/video apps not running smoothly. my bad luck. Hope you get right guidelines here.

[Solved, info inside]Link2sd error, mount script

I searched all threads and it didn't help!
S3 mini with stock rom and xposed framework etc.
Sd card has 2 partitions fat32 and link2sd gives error "Mount script could not be created, mount: invalid arguement"...
Anyone can help please? :fingers-crossed:
/edit:
i got it working throught making both partitions "primary"

Read only SD card. Contains corrupt cache. Can't download anything

Just recently I found my phone.
I resettled it after cwm went wrong
Then I repartioned external SD card. Through cwm. 6gb primary 1gb ext size and 196mb swap.
Then I downloaded zarchiver to move and delete stuff(internal SD card does not get wiped during factory reset.)I deleted the android folder and it failed I then went up a directory and back down. My SD card became read only. I can move and delete files with root browsers but the one cache file from the app tumble is not deleting. I tried through settings but to no avail. Then I read somewhere that someone had a similar problem. He tried RM and um but neither worked. So he rooted and tried again. He then used fsck_msdos to find the corrupt file and delete it and he rebooted and it worked. Now I have my fsck_msdos but not in its original filepath( I got rid of it because of media scanner problems).
Now a few things. Which partition is my swap size from my sdcard is (eg mmcblk"x"p"xx". "X" is a number)? Because I want to use swapper 2 .
Where is the fsck msdos file directory and also fstab.
And what command do I use with fsck or any other command to fix my problem. The guy I read about he did something like fsck /dev/vold/179:... I don't know and it fixed it for him.
Please help and thanks beforehand[emoji3] [emoji3] [emoji3]
[EDIT] I got my sdcard as read write. I turned my device on and off but the files still there. If I touch it it will make it read only again
