I'm trying the flash the 1.83 update to my Atrix and I'm having no trouble with the file or anything but I cannot for the life of me get RSD to recognize my phone.
I'm using Vista 64 bit, yes I have current drivers installed.
USB Debugging is on, USB connection set to none
I'm using RSD 5.0
I'm following all the steps but I can't seem to get it to work.

Did you try a different version of RSD?
Have you also tried this?
" While turning the phone on, hold the Volume Up button until it acknowledges RSD
Your device will say “Starting RSD protocol support”"
Start RSD and see if the phone is there.
I used a couple of the previous versions to no avail and finally tried 5.0
Yes I am booting it into the RSD protocol.
Like I said, I've followed the guide step by step, I've done everything I can think of and have read of and still no luck.

You can try the IRC channel. A few people in there might have had the same problem. You can try asking there..
are you using a stock charging cord
and did you try plugging it in the back of the comp
Yes stock cord and back of the comp,I've tried every port I have.
Hey Guy
I was trying to find a solution for the last 4 hours. I was running the Neutrino Rom before my display got a hardware error. Before I sent it back for warranty, I installed the original Motorola Firmware so the "unlocked" in the starting display is gone. Now I got my phone back and I wanted to unlock it again, because neither rooting nor installing a custom rom is possible. So I installed the drivers and the phone got recognized in normal mode. Furthermore I reboot it in RSD support mode and Windows 8 installed the SF Flash Olympus thing. I also can use fastboot. The only thing which doesnt recognize my phone is RSD lite so I couldnt find a way to unlock the bootloader. I also started in Admin mode and disabled the Windows User Control thing.... I changed the cable cuz I read it might be the cable. Still isnt working. As soon as I connect my phone in RSD support mode, Windows makes the sound of a connected device but still RSD won't recognize it. Don't know what to do. Is there another option?
I'm running on Android 2.3.4 (Build 4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.20)
It's german Telekom
I don't want to do another RSD Lite Thread but I tried every suggestion in all the other threads.
Thanks alot for your help
Tried on a XP Computer....Not working either...
Which version of RSD are you running?
- Remember to use a rear USB port just in case
- Download and install the latest USB drivers from Motorola. They can be found here: USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA
- Download and install the latest RSD Lite as a computer Administrator (currently version 5.4.4) from here: RSDLite5.6

I couldn't get RSD Lite 5.6 to connect to my Atrix on Windows 8 either. I had to use a Windows 7 computer ( that has all the moto USB drivers installed on it ) to unlock my bootloader. Once you install the moto drivers, and you plug in the phone, you should see it installing usb drivers. If you turn on usb connection (from the notification bar USB options) to SDCard storage it will install more drivers. Then you can open the usb selection menu in the notification bar again and switch back to none. Finally got to Settings, Applications, Developer Options, and enable USB debugging which will install even more drivers.
Then firing up RSD Lite you should see it connect to your phone after that. I just couldn't get it to do it in Windows 8.
forget about it.....
you are locked after servicing your phone
no way to install anything ...
the strange thing is that after connecting the phone serviced
windows doesnt recognize the driver
but evrtyhin is fine with my other atrix 4g.
i dont know what they have done to the phone not even trying to load via sbf works.....
nothing
Please note that I have tried the Linux method through Hyper-V, but it does not support USB. I have also tried booting into Ubuntu through the CD, but am unable to get it to boot. I am looking for any assistance with WINDOWS 8 and RSD LITE only. Thanks in advance.
Problem:
I am unable to SBF my X2 back to 2.3.4 using RSD Lite in Windows 8. I have installed the Motorola drivers, installed the Android SDK, booted the phone in RSD Protocol Support, installed RSD Lite 5.4.4 and 5.7 (separately, same problem). ADB notices the phone, Windows notices the phone, but RSD Lite does not recognize that the phone is connected when I'm in RSD mode. I am also running RSD Lite as Admin and have used compatibility modes for XP SP3, Windows 7, and Windows 8. No luck on any aspect.
Has anyone had luck using RSD Lite with their X2 since the release of Windows 8? Did you have to take specific steps to install drivers/software? I've searched for hours here and other sites and have come up with nothing.
how about Oracle VM VirtualBox
and ezSBF, or Ubuntu/ sbf_flash
if it stops, click device tab/ moto device(name changes depending on mode device is in)
worked for me on win 7 64bit
I'm trying to get RSD Lite to work in Windows 8 as well and so far no luck. I've downloaded the most recent drivers. I can connect normally (charging, usb mode, access sd card through windows, etc.) but just not when using RSD Lite.
no idea why rsd lite doesn't work
but ezSBF for DX2 should work fine

try rsdlite 5.7
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/mo...932-windows-8-rsdlite-bionic-motodrivers.html
It seems RSDLite works but your device os probably just not recognised for windows, so you have to look for drivers for your device for the bootloader mode on google, install the drivers and try again with RSDLite.

So is there any more feedback on this?? Did anyone have a good result as I've recently moved frfom win7 to win8 and EVERYTHING apart from RSDLITE is working on my awesome new machine.
I was on windows 8 and I just downloaded the Droid X2 drivers and also RSD lite and i would start up RSD Lite, then i would connect the usb , then i would connect my phone to the usb and put it in rsd mode and it would work so it is weird to hear that it doesnt work for you
Same as you.
Looks like it works only with USB2.0 and not with USB3.0 in Windows 8 and higher.

Install RSD v.5.7 via compatibility previous Windows. All works!
you think windows 8 issues with RSD are bad,i have the 8.1 review (worst mistake ever) and no driver works for the phone, not even the adb one, they all will install fine, but they dont work for crap...id stick with having a usb with the ezsbf or another sbf program that can from usb in case microsmoft screws you over in a update somehow.
it works!
i have a windows 8 hp laptop! with rsd lite 6 version and drivers installed from the usual place you know! and it wasnt connecting. so i switched from 6 version to rsd 5.7 plus from 3.0 usb to 2.0 usb port and voilla!!!
that does the trick!! try it ppl....

THANKS!!! That did the trick. I was going crazy and didn't realize all I needed to do was use a USB 2 port.
This is the reason

Thanks, I connected in my other port (USB 2.0) and RSD Lite it works!
I'm trying to reset my atrix because of warranty issues. I tried everything so far I could find but RSD 6.1.4 wont recognize my Atrix. I installed the newest drivers, and I've tried different usb ports, run as admin.... Everything won t work for me. Whenever I boot in fastboot and use "moto-fastboot devices", my phone will show up. It s just not working with rsd
I'm running WIN8 64-bit (might be the problem?)
Have no idea what else to try

Probably yes I too have WIN8 and to get working drivers I used some program to disassemble driver and install it manually but in my case fastboot doesn't work too, but it can bee new atrix series where is blocked rsd. And does you put phone in rds mode
earlier rsdlite used to detect my phone with same drivers which i am using now.........
bt now rsd lite does not detect my phone
tried many times .....also reinstalled rsd lite
plz help what to do
