Update bootloader? HD Voice? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. I gave my wife my Evo 4G LTE over a year ago, and it's worked great running Mean Bean (not sure about the version). The phone is unlocked, rooted and S-Off. Recently, I thought it would be a good idea to update it to KitKat, mainly because I was hoping that the newer ROMs would utilize HD voice. Long story short, I realized that I need to have the 2.10.0000 bootloader and mine is 1.19.something. So, I have a couple questions:
1. Do the newer custom ROMs support HD voice, or do I need to revert to stock?
2. What is the recommended method to update the bootloader?
Sorry if I seem clueless, but I've moved on from this phone a while ago and forgot all about the S-On/S-Off hoops you have to jump through.

The latest official update was to Android 4.3 which is Jelly Bean, not KK. I believe the HD voice update was part of the software version 3.17 update (Hboot 2.09). There were only 2 or 3 custom ROM's for that particular software version, mostly due to the fact that it was not a major update for the EVO LTE. Any ROM based off that software version should support HD voice. You can run the RUU for that update and you'll remain S-off. Hit the top link in my sig and scroll down to the section on RUU's for further info. This method will also update you to Hboot 2.09.

This doesn't answer the question of how to get to HBOOT 2.10.

[Q] T-Mobile USA Flyer 4G HC OTA to HC Rom

Currently:
T-Mobile USA HTC Flyer 4G
Gingerbread 2.3
S-Off (Revolutionary)
Root (Revolutionary)
Customer Recovery
Received Honeycomb OTA (Alert Only, have not installed)
Goal:
S-Off, Rooted, Custom Recovery with Customer Honeycomb 3.2 Rom (LeeDroid or Cool Honey 3D)
I have heard the OTA update messes up things for running custom roms. I would like to know if I do the OTA update with my current situation, will I keep S-off, Root, Customer Recovery so I can load a custom rom after. Or do I need to use some other method.
Give me a copy of the OTA zip file and I'll make you a light version upgrade, what you have now is not compatible with doing an OTA upgrade.
I'd greatly appreciate if you could do a couple of things for me as part of this procedure, as this would allow me to provide and easy upgrade for TMO stock HC also.

So I'm downloading the update right now, I'm guess that will be a zip on my storage that I need to upload to you. (I'm guessing to a file share site like megauploads). Then what is it that you are doing with the file. I guess I don't know what a light version is and what would be my process after that to get to Customer Honeycomb. I know that I need the honeycomb radio and HBOOT I think to run honeycomb custom rom or it won't work.
Yes, it will be on the sdcard somewhere and rapidshare is probably your best bet for a working upload site right now, or stick it in dropbox in plublic folder and send me the link.

Just wanted to ask a question to Dynabass, does your flyer make and receive phone calls over tmo us gsm? How bout data?

Confused about S-OFF, can someone help?

Howdy guys.. I'm new to the scene an this is my first android phone.. but I always have to hack/tinker with my devices.. so here I am.
I'm a little weary about upgrading to ICS because from my understanding the ICS update also updates HBOOT and prevents S-OFF from being obtained? Is this true or is my understanding wrong?
I unlocked my bootloader, installed NRG's Gingerbread ROM (love it!) and CWM.. I have held off upgrading to ICS because I'm afraid if I upgrade to ICS BEFORE I obtain S-OFF, that I will ruin my chances of getting S-OFF in the future if I so desire.. is this true?
Or is it possible to still obtain S-OFF even after flashing the official ICS RUU?

It IS possible to obtain s-off on the ICS RUU, it has been confirmed by globatron himself, who developed the method. I believe you just need to use v0.4 or later of controlbear.
I upgraded to ICS stock with s-on. I can confirm that the s-off method works because I just did it several days ago.

whats in the latest update and should i upgrade

currently running android 4.1.1 I605vraljb
which is ok but is ther any reason to upgrade
mine is currently stock
your thoughts please
The new radio might be very slightly better, but mostly it was a security patch. I didn't notice any real difference on VRALL4. Now that there is an unlock method for both radios it isn't a problem to take the upgrade if you plan to root and ROM at some point (it was for about a week after it came out as it relocked the bootloader).

the unlock method is for the bootloader not radio...you might already know this and just typed it wrong. just wanted to clear that up for anybody that may read your post.
Right...sorry if there was confusion. A new unlock method was released when the update came out and relocked the bootloader. I unlocked on the original version and flashed the VRALL4 radio when I went to Beans 8.

Need Evo 3D Help

Hello all,
First post here; been using this forum for over 2 years never signed up though lol.
I need some help though.
I currently have a HTC evo 3d on sprint with s-off and rooted.
I'm currently running the infectedRom eternity 3.0.1.5.
I would like to upgrade to CyanogenMod 10.2.
I have upgraded to ext4.
Now it tells me I need to upgrade my firmware to the latest sprint firmwarw.
My current software version is 2.17
Is it safe for me to upgrade to the most recent sprint firmware to get this rom?
How should I go about doing this don't want to mess up my phone.
Thanks

[Q] Hboot and radio for 4.4?

From my understanding, the new T-Mobile OTA to 4.4 should bring us a new version of hboot and radio.
According to a firmware flashing post in the main HTC One forum, wifi calling is baked into T-Mobile's radio.
Now that I want to go to a 4.4.2 custom ROM, I have two questions.
How do ViperOne and InsertCoin manage to incorporate Wifi calling if the functionality is baked into the radio? Or does this mean they have the new radio and I will get all the optimizations supposedly to come with a new version?
I understand that Hboot version 1.56 is coming with 4.4. I'm currently on 1.55. Does this have any implications on me updating? Should I wait for the OTA update then convert to a custom ROM since technically, if I do it right now, I'm on a different base?
I'm really confused since this is my first HTC phone. My old Sony never was this complicated.
If I said anything wrong could you please explain? Thanks!
