Hello Fellow XDA Members,
Since the 4.4w.2 update when i play spotify music on my phone or even google play music,
i do not get any music controls on my watch?
does anyone know why or how i fix this
I am using the android L preview on my nexus 5 phone also.
Maybe android L preview is the problem. Works good on mine when I swipe to the left.
must be L because I'm experiencing the same thing

Same here, i only see the controls if i pause the music. But if i press play (on watch or telephone) it disappears. Hope it will be fixed when the final L build is out.

Hey r u using your watch with android l on ur phone even now, as I am on android l aosp version on my n4 and not able to accept calls on my watch , I can only reject the calls, is it same with u

Havent tried to answer using my watch i normally just reject calls if i do it from my watch,
but yes i am running android L on my n5

try buying your headset from the phone's manufacturer, if its not readily available, search online stores
It's got to be Android specific headphones with Android on the box

Some devices don't seem to support it.
For example, my Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus works.... but the Asus Nexus 7 tablet does not. Anyone able to get it working with the Nexus 7?

i've bought a new headset,
even the headset of plant origin is still the same problem
and I also edit system / usr / keylayout but still the same ..

I am a user of Google Music All Access service (i wont explain how i got it to work outside the US) and the app automatically downloads songs i add to my libarary for offline usage.
The songs are in data/data/com.google.android.music
However despite the full size and valid extension they cannot be played in any other app then Google Play (not even when i transfer them to the PC)
ARE they encrypted? If so how to fix this?

They are most probably encrypted to stop piracy.

There is no way to decrypt them at this time, but you can always plug in your phone to your PC with a 3,5 audio cable from headphone jack on phone to microphone jack on PC. Then record each song with like sound recorder or Audacity.
Bump on this - It has been almost a year, and the service is now rolling out in Canada and other. Somebody must have looked into this?

Obviously not. Because this enables piracy, and we all know XDA doesn't condone that.
I can't test it at the minute but I'm fairly certain that if you log into Google Play Music on a PC, there is an option to download the individual tracks as MP3's. I think it allows you to do it 2 or 3 times per track.
Why not just do that instead of worrying about decrypting music on your phone?

Open chrome > new tab Incognito > enable desktopmode > visit the play music site> login to your google account> locate the purchased song and download( you can only download 2 times through the web).

C'mon who listens music with YouTube? Try soundcloud, spotify, pandora, google music. They're worth the money..

To answer your question currently no because the youths app needs to be open to play the video or it will just pause. But if multiwindow feature gets working well once its out of beta than maybe. Look at the options provided above for another choice.

I'm looking for an app or combination of apps where I can find a link to a movie online, stream it on my phone then using air play push it onto my tv. They only released the sony screen mirroring app to a couple of sony xperia phones so I cant use that. I dont want to have to download the movie first either.
If anyone can help out or list some apps that might take care of this I will be very grateful.

I'm running the L Dev preview on my nexus 5 and just got a g watch.....the music shows up on the watch but none of the controls seem to work on the watch, The music card was persistent on the watch even when the music stopped playing on my phone as well.....just wondering if anyone is experiencing this issue

Haven't tried, does it bring up a different music player on the watch? So the controls work in KK right?

I brings up the last played music app usually. Yes controls work in KK.
