First of all, hello to all devs and testers, and sorry for my bad English, this is my first post on this section, so I try to explain in the best way that I can.

* Your warranty is now void.*
* We(XDA, AOKP, Google, Motorola, and me) are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, misuse of any of the zips and links provided in this post*
Pre-requisites: Have a Rooted phone, with SafeStrap 3.73(or higher), and some knowledge about how to flash roms, wipes, etc, if you need help with some of this topics you can take a look to other posts on XDA which explain this, anyway I'll leave a short description of wipes(in order to see less bricked devices).
******************************************************************************************************************************************
If anyone don't know anything about AOKP, AOKP Team fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and they then add the magical unicorn bytes (they add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
I'll upload the ROM in order to my computer get sync all the repos. Build the rom, tooks me about 6 hours, but I only have 150kBp/s to download everything.
I'll only build the rom from source code, but If the rom have bugs or something like that you could notify me but I don't ensure that I can fix it. Obviously the roms that I build It'll be Unofficial, but I'll release new versions once per month, in order to have the lastest code from CM and AOKP.

Oh goody...more to play with. How advanced is this as in bugs, options, etc. I ran the 4.4.2 as a DD for some time. Thanks for your time and effort!

I think that it won't have bugs(obviuly, all roms have bugs but I think that it'll have a few bugs, or maybe no one), because I try it on Galaxy S4 and the only thing that didn't work is NFC, but RAZR didn't have this feature , I'm downloading the sources, it's about 25% so I would try to build a rom on thursday.

LOL! Hey sherri, when I saw this thread today I figured you'd be all over it like a 'Bum on a Ham Sandwich'. I too am waiting for this as I really liked the 4.4.2 that you steered me to a while back.

Awesome thank you! I have been waiting for this moment for a while now!
I've just arrive home, tonight repo sync will finish and I can build the rom. Otherwise, if anyone knows why when I try to build a rom, kerne(OMAP4-COMMON) takes me and error about WLAN, I ask this because, when I try to build BAM yesterday terminal tooks me that and I can't solve it.

I'm stuck in installation,
where you write to flash ROM.[emoji15]
It would be wise to open a thread when everything is ready.
Anyway good luck.
congrats, man!!
I'll test it as soon you post it!!
I will test as well, as I have been waiting on someone to do this for a long time! Decon1 knows me too well!
And.... Since I have no clue, what is the difference between a "build" and a "port"?

Hey sherri try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483143 I am glad you asked cuz I had a vague idea but not totally sure. I was quite sure that a build is better than a port.
The short of it and my limited understanding....Port is a taking a build from another device and modifying someones build by changing some 'stuff' to make it compatible for your device. Build is downloading all the available pieces-parts from say Github and then building as you might a house from the ground up and specifically for your device. So that's why you see custom ROMs 'based on CM11, AOKP or AOSP meaning the downloaded the main ingredients from those base ROM projects and then built their own.
Bet someone else will give us a my defined explanation.
@tonyt. Can you post a link to source? I was trying to port this for targa and was having issues. Since spyder is almost identical device it'll help me port easier. Congrats on porting this though!

All ROMs are built from source you don't just take a zip and tweak it for it to boot on another. When you port a ROM for an unofficial device you have to rework your device tree for it to be compatible. Its not as simple as just changing a few lines in build.prop or anything lol

I download from Github in ZIP files and I unzip all and I create the folders because some folders didn't exist in my AOKP folder.
That's exactly what I was doing lol so all you done was reworked the device tree based on cm11....wonder why you got it working and I didn't oh well I guess I'll retry. I got my build to initialize but it always failed shortly after. What build commands are you using?

Hey guys,
This Topic is just to inform all the Galaxy 5 users registered with only XDA and not on MADteam.
All the development of Cyanogenmod 10.2 and Cyanogenmod 11 is taking place at MADteam forum.
We currently have almost stable port of cm10.2 by psyke83 and others (far better than cm10.1) and cm11 is recently launched by psyke83 and others. It is really fluid and superfast (I do mean my words, it is close to cm7). Anyhow, it is still in alpha stage but developments are ongoing.
So, all the cyanogenmod geeks of Galaxy 5, you can visit,
http://www.madteam.co
for latest updates.
THIS IS JUST AN INFORMATION TOPIC. I HOLD NO CREDIT FOR ALL THESE WORKS.
Could you please give me the link to CM10.2?
I can't find it :/

Here is the link to the latest build by psyke83,
http://jenkins.androidarmv6.org/job...ive/cm-10.2-20140103-EXPERIMENTAL-galaxy5.zip
How to install?
-Install recovery 6.0.1.2 by psyke83
-Before installing, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (in advanced).
-Thenafter install normally using 'install zip from sdcard'
First boot will oviously take time.
For gapps and many other things,
Here is the link to original cm10.2 topic at madteam.

Yes, you can try that build.
But, let me correct you. It's not by androidarmv6. It is one of the weekly builds that are produced automatically and includes latest changes that are merged in the repository until that day. So, a new build will be produced every week automatically. The actual credits for the changes (building/developing) the builds goes to psyke83, androidmeda and a few more people.
Btw, I think you should now stop using cm10.2 builds and should use cm11 builds. Here is the latest build that psyke has recommended (just before an hour):-
http://jenkins.androidarmv6.org/job/android-experimental/827
CM11 builds have achieved almost as high performance as cm7. Also buglist is almost empty now. I would strongly suggest you to try that out.
For cm11 gapps visit here:-

(made by me) (Recommended/approved by psyke83)

Work is ended! But need to compile again properly!
Its CyanogenMod 9 for Galaxy 5 device!
I will be uploading on a new thread soon!
Hope you guys test it and also I hope it works properly.
Soon a stable version of Cyanogenmod 9 can be expected along with a Cyanogenmod 10.2 and Cyanogenmod 11 builds.
I have no time to work. But I will try my best.
I wonder why this build occupies only 39.5MB space. That worries me a lot. I began to question myself whether I have done it right!

Acually Cyanogenmod is entirely different from stock.... It has different frameworks, different apps etc.
I don't own your device and so I cannot test it.
I just saw your thread 2 days before and I thought of doing some development here. Thats all bro.
But I will compile it again for sure and check if there is any problem.
If there is a problem, them CyanogenMod will not compile but thats not the case here right?
So I will try and upload here... You guys test it and tell me.
Surely some features will not work... I will also try to fix those.

Good enthusiasm.
We have fully stable (RC4) build of cm11. This thread is to redirect people to MADTeam if they need cm11 and cm10.2.
You can't build a working cm build from cm sources for this device because it's an armv6 device which is locked on 2.6 kernel (due to crappy rfs of samsung). So, never think of building cm from cm sources for this device.
If you still wanna build for your pleasure, use androidarmv6 sources.
If you wanna develop for this device, first have a look at mega-development site for this device: http://madteam.co

Openly speaking, I have an armv6 vfp device (same as your device) and I have built CM9 for it.
Now the device is still working fine though there are only two bugs which I am working on to fix it.
As you say, you guys have stable CM11, I better stop this as it will be no use to you.
But all I can say is, you can build for armv6 devices from cm sources.

You can build even cm10.1 (highly buggy, really) but problem arises from cm10.2 due to selinux support in kernels.
Btw, which device do you have?
A request?
Sorry for commenting on a wrong thread, but is it possible to compile cm10.2 for our Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 (totoro) ? cm11 has lag issues, may be developers are expert enough to deal that in cm10.2? All totoro users want a 4.x ROM without any bug and lag, as we cant expect 5.x cause of unsupported ART runtime Any detailed reply will be appreciated
the Madteam forum is closed.
Can any one put a link for Cyanogenmod 11 [androidarmv6] [By psyke83]?

FAQ
FIRST AND FOREMOST
HOW TO PROPERLY POST A BUG - Guide to logcats, dmesg and last_kmsg.
Coming in and saying "XYZ isn't working", isn't as helpful as some might think. Even if your intentions are good i.e., making this rom better, I (and any developer for that matter)needs more info. Logcats are the way to do this. If it's a kernel panic, last_kmsg is where it's at. Without supplying me with proper logs I may not be able to help and you may be ignored. Sorry to be harsh but we all have lives outside of xda(hopefully) and time is pretty precious.
GPS isn't working! HELP!
While it works for me, this has been a known issue on LG phones and AOSP roms since I owned my LGOG. First thing to try is to restore your stock backup, get a lock for a few minutes then restore the rom. The only other issue may be with your particular version of GAPPS. Sometimes Google Services can act funny with location services. I use PA Nano and have had zero issues with GPS.
Why won't NFC work?
This is a bug for pretty much every rom right now. We are all working on a fix and as soon as one is available, I will rebuild and reupload the rom.
My 64gb+ sd card won't work!!
While exFAT is usually preferred over FAT32, exFAT has been hit or miss so USE A COMPUTER to format your sd card to FAT32 if exFAT doesn't work for you. DO NOT USE TWRP OR STOCK LG - USE A COMPUTER!!!!

You will be or are you asking if I will be? Lol - I didn't have any plans too. Building and maintaining 3 roms, a stock kernel as well as doing themes, bootanimations and who knows what else will keep me pretty busy.

Vanir. I posted that awhile ago and the vanir team is fully supporting us via their server and google+ page. They've moved onto lollipop but I'm still tinkering with kit kat.
Only other rom I'd like to get going is Omni but it's a much different beast.
Edit: And ty btw.

Tectas is working on rin kernel for both lollipop and aosp. We still have a few slight bugs to iron out on the stock version but as soon as an aosp version is available - chances are I'll build it.

If they're both 4.4 based, then yes. The audio backend should be identical.

It recognizes mine - have you read the FAQ(Second post)? Even if it was formatted as FAT32, we've been finding that it's best to copy your card to your pc, format it again on a computer then put everything back. This has been an issue with switching roms and using sd cards, even if you haven't experienced it yet. Remnants left behind will do everything from not allowing it to be read to interferring with other aspects of the system.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Everything in this build should be working OK:
WiFi
Camera
Video/audio playback
GPS
Bluetooth/A2DP
I'm not sure about the Nfc, I expect your feedback on that one.
However, don't expect miracles; the device is somewhat slow because its HW is a bit outdated.
It is 6.0.x, though.
I need this one, too.
flashed it and saw you really took a 3.4 kernel for this. cool.
Thanks for this! Everything looks good. NFC is fine although, and I'm not sure if this usually applies, the first picture I tried to transfer wouldn't as it said the file was too large. Used a smaller one and it worked fine. It's quite zippy with the minimal number of apps I've installed.
I was hoping we would at least get credits for our 3.4 kernel and device trees though not to mention that I stated that I'd rather not see our not yet stable, wip and dev only 3.4 kernel included in ROMs yet, but I'm not even trying anymore... it's not my problem if someone can't charge their device anymore or has to disconnect and reconnect the battery to give life to it again.
I'm unable to apply a theme. FC's each time.
Your history is preserved to the letter in the kernel and device tree, so everybody can see and appreciate the work you've done. Does GPL licence require anything else?

no. but respect does. this answer is a pure smack in the face to someone who took months of work mainly alone to get 3.4 working for this device and this really deserves more!
Certainly appreciate the build but just to let you know, there is no sound at all. Also, with the 3.4 kernel, there is no power to USB OTG and my tab would not charge as @Ziyan stated. I've already tried Ziyan's MM rom with 3.4 and knew I would have to disconnect/reconnect the battery to get charging back.
I failed to read your entire OP and didn't know you were using 3.4 kernel, so that's on me. Regarding the sound, @srisurya95 compiled some early MM builds and they also had no sound.
Hopefully, you'll be able to fix this issue.
Thanks,
Mike T

Yeah, as always when installing a new rom. I just tested the sound in settings for media etc. and there was no sound. I didn't bother to test any further due to the issues I had with the 3.4 kernel.
Btw, just for the record I used the Banks Dynamic gapps linked in the OP.

Anybody with a rudimentary knowledge of Github can see what's been done by who just by looking at the commits, so stating "great thanks to whoever" is surpluss to requirements.
All one needs to do is preserve the commit history and everything is visible and all the credits are given.

Thank you for your replies but at this time it's a moot point. With the charging and USB OTG issues relative to 3.4 kernel, I won't use a rom with 3.4 until @Ziyan and team say it's ready for prime time.
As an aside, let it be known I do appreciate the work by the OP and the DU team. They make an excellent rom.

No sound is the reason why I haven't released my build
Sound on mine is just fine...
I think that the main problem that this 3.4 issue happened is because the kernel was 'released' a month ago in an unstable form. I think that if something was released, it should be fixed to a usable state ASAP since errors like this are bound to happen. Other developers didn't get their name stamped everywhere because they ported a kernel either so I don't get why this should be an issue... (I don't mean to disrespect Ziyan as I really respect him and his work. I'm just not very happy with the unfinished 3.4 kernel that is out to the public and currently not being actively worked on. Porting a kernel on your own is a great feat that we must all respect but that doesn't earn you the right to have your name everywhere I think.)

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

This is weird, other testers and I have not experienced this issue. Try following the install steps in the OP with a different Gapps package (if you haven't already). If that doesn't work, a clean flash may solve it.

I always clean flash, even nightlies. For Carbon last night I also wiped the internal storage. Anyways, I would try it with opengapps nano or pico package. I'll let you know if it fixes the fc for me. Thanks
Anyone else flash this on Sprint? I couldn't get data to work and had to go back to Pure Nexus for now.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. Inbuilt screen video recorder doesn't work.
bt bins keep running like bccmd which causes over heating some times (this can be fixed by deleting /system/etc/init.bt.sh but will disable bluetooth)
(Bugs reported by users will be updated here after they are confirmed. I may ask for a logcat to fix the bugs.)
NOTES
- If you are not able to connect to your service network provider and can't make calls etc, try flashing the modem from your region specific firmware through ODIN. Search the threads in Galaxy Grand forums and you'll find instructions there.

Awesome bro . Nice work. ?????
Bro we are waiting for the release (for core).
????????
good job bro
Will install and try this ROM as soon as possible. I hope the ROM in its current state is better than your CM12.1 ROM, as the working RIL is one major reason to switch this ROM. That said, I hope to see more updates on the CM12.1 ROM too.
Thank you for releasing another stable ROM for our device, androidlover!
Nice stable fluid rom.... can your cm 11 custom kernel be used with this rom???
I installed the ROM. Impressions may be coming later, as well as screenshots.
Alright, I got me some screenshots. One thing I liked enough about the ROM is the ability to show a navbar, so I decided to also take screenshots of the functionality. (which can be turned on and off on the fly without any reboots, and apps will scale properly in the same session!) So far the battery is a bit so-so, though it may be because of Google Play Services taking its toll on the device. Can be better than weritos' CM11 but I found it to be not as good as androidlover's CM12.1. Other than that, it seems to be a KitKat ROM with more tricks up its sleeves than Cyanogenmod 11.
Haven't used much of it to formulate my impressions of it. Yet.

Open GApps 4.4 Pico works with this ROM.
EDIT: The battery of this ROM seems to be good, actually. All these hours went by, yet the drain was just 18%.
androidlover, you are android lover in true sense.
Just flashed ROM and GApps (ARM, 4.4, Pico). Prima facie, ROM is awesome.
Will discover more.
Thanks!
I am not able to receive anything over Bluetooth. Can someone verify this as a bug? Is there any workaround?

I managed to send myself a file from my Windows 10 computer to the ROM. In the bluetooth settings on the ROM I set it to "Accept all file types" and the visibility time out to Never.
Battery draining fast while using the phone. Even on restart battery came down from 80 to 44.
it cant detect sd card ......also in gallery it says no storage ......:crying::crying:
Changes made in "performance" (after activating developer options) are not executed. Other than that it's an almost perfect ROM. Other than that it's a perfect ROM lots of customization options.
