Went to the Sony shop. They told me they can't change the St for me as they claim that the case I was using caused the issue. They even told me that it I can only get a refurbished model 1 for 1 exchange.

[Q] motherboard replacement

Hello guys.
My x10i has got a faulty motherboard and is now being repaired. The motherboard is being replaced with a new one. Now my question is that whether the handset will behave normally?
Is the in ear speaker will be also replacaed or not. Is it attached with the motherboard or not.
Wat are the precautions shd i take care of before taking the handset from the service centre?
Thanks guys.
Hey guys. I got my x10 back today. Its motherboard has been replaced.
Now the problem im facing is that the hardware buttons except the power button stop working after 3-4 mins.
They work alright after every restart for 3-4 mins. Pls tell me wats going on.
Im trying to re update the software but its not working.
Thanks guys.
Sounds to me you can go back to the repair centre...there is no setting in your phone which controls it after a clean flash, so something is wrongly programmed I assume...

Do you have a case on your phone? I bought a stupid cheap one, and couldn't for the life of me figure out why my bottom buttons weren't working....Did a factory reset and everything..Even though the case didn't cover the buttons, still messed them up
Took the cover off, no problems.
Why have you replaced your motherboard? What kind of problems did you had(i just want to know; maybe it can help me )

Power button not/barely working! Please help if u know a fix!

Hello Dear XDA members,
So I have an Amaze that you guys helped me root and install custom ROM on back in Jan, thanks! Now the power button is going out, it's very hard to turn the screen on and off. I have been using the camera button to turn the screen on but I can't turn it off with that button. If the phone runs out of battery I have a really hard time turning it back on.
I called HTC and they said I they will send me an RMA code but they didn't, after a few days I called back and they said while its still under warranty they can't help me because the phone was a demo unit originally. Well I got it from Craigslist not Tmobile so maybe that's why.
Anyway, is there a way to fix the button? I mean 11 months is a very short period for a $599 phone! Anyone knows how to fix this? I really appreciate it. Thanks !!
Ouch. I bought mine from craigslist too but checked my imei before buying. You can use a widget that will act as as power button. See if you can still push the button with ease if you take the phone out of its frame.

Well I guess his biggest sticking point is how to turn the phone on without a working power button. Same thing happens with Nexus One and there are easy workarounds (by plugging in and remove/insert battery repetitively). Is there such a work around for the Amaze?

I came from the nexus one to the amaze when it came out. Having broken power button phobia from the start, I've found "screen off and lock" from market for turning off the screen, and "quick boot" also from the market for reboot, etc. Don't know of any methods off hand to turn it on, once off...
I did however notice that with the back plate off it's easier to get a firm click pushing the power button with just my finger.

Check to see if its the actual button thats not working properly, or if its the back cover. My phone sometimes doesn't have the power button register when i press it down the first time, but its just the button on the back cover that's wearing down and not making contact with the phone. Take a look and hopefully thats all it is, and all you have to do is replace the back cover which runs you anywhere from 10-15 bucks on ebay :good:
google 'button remapper apk' and use it to set your camcorder button as your new power button.

What andy55 said works but only if the phone isn't completely off. This only works in sleep mode.
Also, try taking off the back cover and press and hold the rubber area with your fingernail where the power button should be. I found the button on the cover wasn't making adequate contact with the phone.

Wow...... Back up everything and buy a new phone :-\
U really are a noob, thanks anyway

Its hardware problem. Not software. Re flashing the software will have no use on it. You cant just fix this hardware problem yourself....
Yup, he's right..
If there is an issue with the power key and about its responses.. Then it has nothing to do with the software, it's totally hardware that got corrupted or something..

How long this is going on? maybe it will try up in few days and will be ok.
Happily the power button went back to normal, stuck the phone in to a bowl with rice and left in a warm places Not under direct sunlight for 6 hours and luckily my phone is back to normal....
I really want to thank u guys for simply giving me a minute of your opinions, guess this time I was lucky, I hope my experience helps others.....till next time

Mine is a bit "loose" as well but I don't think it's defective. It's just the way it was manufactured.
Just got mines today and noticed that it's loose too.
Seems like that's how it is.

Screen replacement and also buttons

Hello guys i got a Z2 2 weeks ago and i have 2 problems
1.the touchscreen it ultra sensitive and when i hover my finger over the screen it touches it!
2.the power button and volume buttons are really deep pressed inside that i can almost press them!
I sent the phone to sony service and i demanded a whole mobile new replacement but they said they will fix it, they will replace the screen and they also said once you change screen the buttons are changing too! Is this really happens? Anyone know? Will i have a problem and should i push it for a replacement or evetything will be fine?[emoji33]
If someone had same problem please reply thank you
My buttons are similar to yours, and I have replaced the button several times. The button will naturally go inside after awhile. As for the screen, I recommend you just go to Sony to change
