Hi
I was bit surprise to see in Sony xperia z2 there is no Developer Option in Settings.
But today morning while playing with my settings I tried to tap multiple times on my version no. ....23.1.0.1.167
And surprisingly it enabled my developer Option in Setting. Might be we have to tap it for 3-4 times..don't remember exactly..
Don't know whether this is known information but sharing it So that If any one don't know.... he/She can use it.
Hit Thanks if it helps you.
It's hidden by default since 4.2 JB.

I have been lurking on this site for a while. Let me say thank you to all the developers here, its incredible that you would take time out of your life to help other people with our miniscule problems that we bring upon ourselves.
Anyway I recently upgraded from cyanogenmod 9 to cyanogenmod 10 on my Samsung infuse 4g. In the 9th version, there was a section in the system menu for developer tools. In it was a bunch of options but the one i am concerned with is the cursor. Actually i cant recall what it is called but when enabled, it shows a little circle wherever the screen is being touched. I love that feature and i figured it would still be in the 10th version but i cannot find it. I dont know what to search for to find information so i had to create this account and ask.
Okay i was playing with the settings and i found this.
Settings - Lock Screen - Slider shortcuts - drag the dot to a new location - activities - Dev tools - Pointer Location
but when i lock the screen and then unlock it and slide the dot to the icon, it just brings up a kind of app. the one in CM9 was global and it was different, it didnt track the touch, just showed it...
found it (?)
okay i found how to enable it but its hidden like a *****
Had to set Dev tools to the slider icon, then save, lock the screen, unlock it, slide to the dev tools icon, and the developer options is THERE. WHO PUT IT THERE?! How were we supposed to get to it? The dev tools contain many useful features. I use the long press back key kill app feature, and some people might use the max background processes to free up memory. You can change transition animation timing, and lots of other things. IDK why they hid it away on CM10 unlike CM9.
Anyway thats where the dev tools are. Question answered, maybe it will help someone else.

Go to settings - About Phone - And press on the "build number" for 7 times.
You will get a message saying "You're now a developer" or something.
And the Developer Options menu should be available in settings.
Hey guy, I am hoping someone can help me with this because it's starting to get really frustrating. My G3 is very laggy. When I am texting, it will freeze for a few moments and then catch up, sometimes missing some letters that I have typed so I have to redo it. It lags with playing games, or pressing the on-screen back button... there is a very noticeable lag.. is there any way to fix this at all?

There is no dial code for Sprint G3 as far as I know.
you have to use shortcut master in order to access the rest of the hidden menu settings such as Thermal dae

Under developer options you can select whether you want to use dalvik (ODEX) or ART (precompiled apps).
But: have you tried to remove new apps you had installed? Maybe they are causing your problem.

Settings/developer options; probably you don't have this menu item
Try to install osmonitor from market, and turn on "show cpu usage"
Just to check if nothing runs in the background.
Developer options menu is unlocked by doing the following...
Go to General tab (or section if you're not in tabbed mode)
Select 'About Phone'
Select 'Software information'
Tab 'Build number' (KVT49L.LS990ZV4) 7 times - you'll see a countdown pop-up after the first few taps
You have now unlocked Developer options menu under General tab (or section)
I ended up calling Sprint and had them reset the services and reactivate the phone. After this and updating PRL and Profile, it is running smooth as butter.

Get a custom launcher.
I use Lightning Launcher Pro (but almost all custom launchers have this function). What I even do is to link the double-tap function of the custom launcher to the "sleep+hibernate" shortcut of Greenfy so now when double tapping on the screen (everywhere) it puts the display to sleep and greenifies - win win.

Nice. Action Launcher 3 can do this too in the Shortcuts menu. Hibernate+Lock Screen is a win win for sure.

It works in Nova too..
Go to nova settings > gestures > double tap > slide the list to right you'll find activities > go down the list and find greenify > click on hibernate + sleep
and you're done... B)

Hi!
I am looking for someone with a moto z on stock, and a ruler. I have a moto z with a broken display (but functional touch panel). I need someone to go through, measure out where to click to enable usb debugging (also computer RSA key confirmation thing).
This would help me tremendously.

Did you install any apps? `Cause app list will be different.
In true, it`s nearly impossible. Try (custom) recoveries, or usb-c to hdmi, or ask service. Without repair it will be not much at cost.

I can access settings, that's not an issue as I use a custom launcher and put the shortcut right above home.
This device doesn't technically support hdmi out and the adapters that have worked for people, I cannot find for sale.
Repair will be at least 180CAD
Take a look at my video.
watch?v=PxKJleceILA (sorry, i can't post links yet.)
no matter where is your icon, I suppose you can access the setting through the status bar.
Next, give a good hard flick the settings list. The developer settings should be as the third from the end. if you don't recall if you turned on developer options. select the last option, flick it, and tap multiple times at the last option.
When you are in developer settings. make a One full (from the bottom towards the top) slow slide on the list. the USB debugging should be on the list as third from the bottom, merely little lower than on the bottom. Tap an RSA as on the video.
I hope it will help ya.

This is an option ALL phones i had had. Strangely not in the BT menu.. Like it's hidden by Samsung by choice..! How to get it back/find a way to switch that option? I want to use BT but don't want to be "found"!

Isn't it always hidden, unless you are in the bluetooth menu or you have already paired the device?

Bro, you think I'm dumb enough not to have checked that before asking?
Children, don't argue
Use Good Lock and you'll find the option you're looking for under Quickstar.

I was curious so I checked it. My phone is not seen when not in Bluetooth menu. So that's good to know. Goodlock/Quickstar will help hiding Bluetooth and or other icons

GoodLock is nice, but neither in Quickstar, neither other section i found the solution to my issue.
I was posting from (gasp!) iPad, now here's a screenshot of my phone (the "W" Canadian variant, but I doubt that makes a difference).
BTW, there's also SystemUI Tuner that can accomplish the same.
EDIT: Oh, I just realized you're not looking to hide the BT icon, but to keep the phone invisible while BT is on. This is not it.

But that is the standard for all Android phones for several years.
Do have any of the sharing options enabled, which maybe makes you visible?

What are those "sharing option" you refer to..? Just having BT turned on makes you visible. This is by default on any device. Usually there's a setting to make your device "'invisible". I checked on older Galaxy : it's there! Sometimes, manufacturer intentionnally HIDE a setting in menu. So i can be reactivated, but i dunno the process.

Search for "Nearby sharing" in settings...
This seems to be related to 2 settings - "Nearby sharing" is in Google settings and then there is "Quick share" as well...
Indeed there's such option in "Nearby sharing".. But it's only for this service : Phone's still visible even if you disable visibility in "Nearby sharing".. There should be an option in the BT (sub)menu itself as said.
