I am getting, "unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped." after installing Facebook. Normally in the past I would clear "Contact Storage", reset and the problem was solved.
On Android 5.0 and this tablet this doesn't work, I have even removed Facebook and the problem still persist.
I have even went into Recovery and cleared cache but the problem still persist. I haven't even rooted the device, any suggestions?
Try factory resetting. I know its a pain but it may be your only option.

I am hoping to avoid that! I was just throwing it out in case someone has a solution.
Edit: Solution is I had 'Outllook' App Installed, once I removed it and rebooted, The error disappeared. I still can't get Facebook to work, I have a feeling it is the new Gmail, Calendar, Contacts Sync Transport is causing the issue, just have to wait for an update.
I encountered the same problem but uninstalling the outlook.com app didn't help. I also tried all the ideas which seemed to work for android 4.4 and older without success. I even factory resetted my device, but (I assume) after I reinstalled all my apps again, the problem came up again too. The message of the stopped android.process.acore shows up more or less randomly but I can force it when I try to open contacts. First time the problem occurred was after I updated to Lollipop manually and rooted my Nexus 7 (2013). Any other ideas how to get rid of this dreaded problem?
Same problem here
The problem came back, I assume it has something to do with the new gmail, contacts and calendar apps? I have to keep deleting apps that show up under Accounts until I can load Contacts app without error message showing up again.
After a factory reset and upgrade to Android 5.0.1 the bug or whatever, seems to be gone. Maybe just the update will help too?

I recently got this issue. Booting into Safe Mode and running only Google apps I have no problems. Some 3rd party app is messing with the Google Contacts app.
5.1 solves this issue! Got the update on my Nexus 7 2013, no more error message. I returned the N9, but will repurchase now that 5.1 seems stable.

Anyone else getting "can't download songs right now. check your internet connection" when trying to download music from Google Music?
I've cleared cache, data, re-installed and deauthorised my device (Google Nexus) from the website... I'm running Stock JB - but also occurs with Bugless Beast. This has only started happening recently - last couple of days or so
more importantly does anyone have a solution?
thanks!

Figured it out myself: Although I had 500+Mb of storage free that was apparently causing the problems. There was no message indicating storage was an issue. I cleared various app caches until I had 1GB+ free and now all seems well
It happened to me too. But it was not resolved by clearing cache. I resolved it by going to Play Music on a browser and deauthorising the other devices and instances I already had on my authorised devices list. It can take up to 10 devices and instances, when you exceed that you cannot download to any device again.

This worked for me as well. I had filled up my list of authorized devices. Apparently flashing a new ROM makes your phone look like a new device to Google.
I keeps getting this mesage: "Can't download music right now. Will try again later".

Same crap for me. Only 2 devices authorized so not that.
So...nobody? Having this problem on my Sprint Note 2 running stock. It just says "Can't download music right now, will try again later." Totally useless error message. Thanks, Google.

Also getting the error on my nexus 10.
Are the others with the same problem also using 2 step authentication? that's my current guess about the cause of it.
I've cleared the cache, cleared the app data, re-installed, etc. Have deauthorized it it in music and in 2 step authentication, but no luck with anything so far.
I called google about it and got an email telling me I needed to move the songs to my SD card
Might call them again b/c it's preventing me from saving purchased music as well now.
I've been getting this a lot the last two days.
Do a factory reset and re sign in your Google account.

I had this same issue but it turned out to be just one fricking song that it was stuck on. I removed that song from the queue and it started up again. I have no idea why, but this process is really finicky
Hello,
when pinning music to my external Sd-card for offline use in Google Play Music, the app constantly stops saying it "Can't download music right now, will try again later" for no apparent reason (30 GB still available on the card, Wifi connection working just fine), sometimes even REMOVING already downloaded songs (at least that is what the "storage available" info in the setting says, suddenly is jumps back to 28GB from 20GB for example) -
why is that and how can I fix it? Can't seem to download all pinned songs, have been at it for over a week now...
I am using a Sony Xperia ZL with CM 11 and the newest Google Play Music Version, have not authorised too many devices.
With regards,
Tom
I received the OTA-update (XXEMC2) last sunday. Since then certain apps don't work any more: Opening a mail with images in gmail resets me back to my home screen, trying to open "google now" does the same, as does opening instagram, linkedin,... It even remains the same after resetting my phone to factory defaults. :crying: Does anybody know how to resolve this? Thanks!
I have done a new flash with Samsung KIES and now it's working normally again. Anyway, switching to Nexus 4, as I already ordered it this morning!
Hi everyone, Just wanted to post this as I have found it to be useful for me.
I am sure some of you have seen this issue before or are experiencing it now. I have included a link to the youtube video.
what is the issue?
Recently after downloading the newest play store I started seeing an error message about unfortunately the process gapps has stopped working .
this was happening whenever i tried to add an account and when opening some of my apps including the browser and play store
.
it was annoying me but it would go away and the app would immediately open for me after so it was not that big of a problem.
I tried to solve the problem first by uninstalling updates to the play store in application manager
,
then by flashing roms and factory resetting
, however this did not help at all.
l
. finally last night at work my phone had three random reboots . my phone has never done that before
. I searched on google and found a very easy fix and once again my phone is like new
.
the fix.
settings/ application manager/scroll to left until you reach the all applications screen/ touch menu screen left of the home button/ reset app preferences.
here is the youtube link
. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt_alKha_-s
it sometimes work, even uninstalling the updates and reinstalling works but is random
Thanks
What does kill us, it hurts
I am having this problem right now. Except not only am I getting that error I am getting mutlple services that have stopped as well as background apps.
I have tried everything except a factory re-boot. I haven been on the phone with Verizon and Motorola Level 2 tech support and no one could help me.
I'm at my wits end. I don't want to reset the phone because i have a lot of pics that are not backed up.
Additionally it seems that a phone reset is not a guarantee...
This worked for me. Thank you!
Thanks

.Cheers Bloke that worked a treat.
Sadly not working on my note 2 syncing google account.
Whilst trying to sync the two calendars from the note (4.1.2) to my Nexus 10 (4.4). Nexus is sending out and note is receiving (also to pc) but nothing is being released from the note
As well as above I have seen a "fix" being disable - re enable download manager in apps. Also a no go.
I've been seeing this pop up on odd occasions during the last month or so but not caused an issue with the activity at that time.
Cheers in advance

google play download issue
Hi everyone,
I had the same issue like you. I have Samsung galaxy note 2. But I tried your advice about reseting app preferences and it worked. But I have another problem. The Google Play app works but I can't download any apps. It looks like the app is downloading but it's not. Have you any ideas about this problem? Thank you! Diana.

None of these worked for me. I tried cleaning the cache etc as mentioned and removing the google account but nothing. I've restarted, powered down and pulled the battery but nothing has changed, I still get the gapps message along with play store, gmail, hangouts etc.
I'm running stock 4.3 on a rooted I9305 S3. Everything was fine until I tried a bit of a cleanup with Android Tuner Pro's quick optimization and clean p. After the restart the pop ups came and then it had a progress bar saying - linking to sd - which sat at 0% and never moved. I'd selected optimize apps loading, database access, fix permissions, clean memory and updated system apps, trim all partitions and clear caches.
Any suggestions? I had massive problems trying to install 4.3 when my titanium backup messed up some settings and I had to do another full factory wipe and manually install ALL my apps and settings, taking around 4-6 hours!
I wish I'd stuck to System Tuner Pro and hadn't touched the new version

try this step:
On your Note, goto Settings. Choose Applications. Tap on the All Tab at the top. Locate and tap on the Play Store app. Tap on the Clear Data button. Tap on the OK button to confirm. Tap Clear Cache too
Then if you can see com.google.process.gapps in there, tap it and Clear Data and Cache too. Ignore it if you can't find this process there
Then find and tap the Google Services Framework and Clear Data and Clear Cache. Then restart your Note. Do the same for Browser, Download Manager etc again
Thanks, it worked for me
Thanks a lot dear, after too many trials finally your advice worked. you saved my day.
error message "process com.google.process.gapps, has stopped"
I have tried several methods from different forums/blogs, but all failed to remove this message, which appears repeatedly on my device Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7500) whenever I start browsing on the native browser or the Chrome & not otherwise. There are so many people crying on almost all android related forums for help but nobody from Google/Android owners or even the device manufacturers are speaking up to console these crying people who bought these devices due android fame. If these attitudes continue, I think the Android will vanish as the Symbian in the past. For myself, having found no solution, I have decided to live with it until the device gets a System Update next!
However, if anybody has found a solution, he may plz tell me, too!
Hi,
I applied I545_OF1_Stock_Rooted_ROM.zip with Flashfire, which successfully upgraded my rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 from KitKat 4.4.2 to Lollipop 5.0.1 .
Everything is working fine, but when I go to Settings and select Accounts -> Google, I get this error message:
"Unfortunately, Settings has stopped". As a result I lost control over Google synchronization.
I Would greatly appreciate any help with this problem.,
- Alex.
This may be an issue with a Google Play Services update. Lots of people have reported this issue. You can probably get to your Google account sync settings by running the stock Gallery app. Hit Menu button and select Settings from the drop down. That should get you to the Google sync settings.

If you are experiencing the same issue as others, the first time Play Services gets updated, the problem will return.
Hello!
Just a few days ago the 145 update hit my device. After installing it and reinstalling twrp plus magisk I am experiencing issues with Google News, Gmail and even with account management.
Gmail shows emails, but doesn't display the content, same for Google News stand. If I remove the Google account entirely, and try to readd it, it gets stuck at 'checking info '. This only seemed to happen after the update and then after I installed magisk (with YouTube vanced as a module) and rebooted, now I can't access emails anymore/read news. Funny thing is, even k9 mail doesn't work and shows the exact same Issue as Gmail. In a browser I can easily access Gmail.
Is anyone having similar issues? I had to reset my device two two times already to get it working again, but as soon as I installed magisk (and YouTube vanced) it broke again.
Later I can add a log cat if somebody could use it.
Did you try to reset device or clear cache?

I updated to 145 to sort the "Okay Google" issue out, now I am experiencing lack of mobile data and Assistant is sporadic....are you sure you are getting mobile data? mine seems to work fine on WIFI.
I did reset the device twice and that helped. I am now thinking it may have to do with webview/Chrome, since all these actions that don't work require these apps. I did install bromite together with magisk, so it may have something to do with it. But deleting bromite and deactivating/reactivation chrome doesn't help either. Actually, Chrome starts up but won't load any website.
I may have to reset again and not install bromite and see if that helps.
And yes, the issue persists on mobile data or wifi.
