There are some apps in the Play Store that I would like to use on my Note. Unfortunately they have restrictions like screen res. and physical screen size. One such app requires a screen size of at least 8.9", but the resolution requirement is the same as our Note.
Is there anyway to "fake" it so I can get the app?

I'm not sure, this is why I asked the question. I'm not sure if:
1. It is possible
2. How could it be done

Unfortunately, 1 doesn't mean anything to me. I'm newish to Android. I had a tablet briefly (had to return it) and in that time purchased the app I'm talking about, but because I don't have that app, I don't really have a way to get the app on the Note.
When I had the tablet, I was able to side load it onto another device. But as I said, I don't have the tablet, so I'm looking for an alternative method. I've been considering Rooting and flashing ICS anyways. But if this app doesn't work, I might not bother. Or rather, if I have no way to "get" the app.
Thanks though. I do appreciate the response because it continues the searching and thinking process for me.
What is this mystery app? I am running tablet mode on my note (213 dpi on CM9) and would be more than happy to see if it comes up as available for install. Have you also tried going to the market through a web browser and seeing what it says?

Haha. No real mystery I guess, but I wasn't sure what would get discussed here or if it might be against policy. The app is Adobe Ideas which was updated to 1.5.1 and works with the upcoming gNote 10.1. So, I was curious if it shows up with a rooted and ICS'd gNote 5.3 with the proper "dpi" as you put it. After that, it's a matter of figuring out with the pressure sensitivity works with the app.
When I visit the store through the web browser it says it's only compatible with the tablet I returned. I haven't rooted and ICS'd my Note yet. If this app works though, it would push me over the edge to do it.
It won't come up in the market thru app on my note. Through browser says compatible with some of my devices. Without hitting the purchase button I am going to wager a guess that it is compatible with my Transformer but not my Note.

Well, that's a bummer that it doesn't show up. But that doesn't mean it doesn't work.
So changing dpi is generally what you would do to make tablet apps show up? So back to the original question. Is there a way to get around this app not showing up in the store?
So far both chrome and chrome beta tabs are not showing up in my multitasking screen. Anyone else experiencing this?
Very strange! Both show up in mine.....
Mine not showing either.

I can certainly post some. I'm at work currently and my N9 is at home.
I'll get them up in a couple of hours.
Here ya go.
Same.... Not getting chrome multitask integration... Only one instance of chrome even with 3,4 website pages open

@Scotlac. I'm pretty sure that's not what the op was referring to. He is looking for the feature they advertised at Google I/O where each tab would show up as its own card in the multitasking view. As near as I can tell, that feature has not yet come to fruition, and hopefully is just around the corner.
Ahh, I was not aware of that feature. Thanks Wolf!
I believe it is only enabled for phones.
On a tablet you have direct access to all open tabs in chrome anyway. I think they tested it and thought that it doesnt make things faster or easier.
Let's say you have opened up 10 pages. You would see 10 added entries to your recent apps mixed with all other apps you would take some time to find a specific chrome tab. Just hitting the one chrome instance you see in the current implementatiton and then in chrome select the correct tab seems easier to me. On a phone where you can not see the tabs in chrome without a click it's differernt.
But yes, they should have made it an option.
I read somewhere on g+ that is a setting that had to be enabled.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Nope, I don't think its enabled for phones either. I have yet to see it with any build I've tried on my Nexus 5.
The chrome build on my tablet will will give you the option if you set the LCD density to the same as the nexus 5. I'm not a fan of this feature, but I'm sure someone can hack chrome to make this work. Just needs to be decompiled and forced to phone mode. With DPI like this tablet is unusable(well, usable just horrible looking) I just wanted to see if the functionality was in chrome and it is. I don't have time to mess with it right now, maybe in the future if no one gets on it.
(This is on my nexus 9)
yea i guess its not enabled for tablets. i have it on my nexus 5 running latest lollipop preview and its amazing. i think they should have it integrated into tablets AND still let you see the tabs one BOTH tablets and phones. I loved the system of pulling down in chrome to see tabs, and i think this new system could accompany it nicely. i dont see why they got rid of one for the other, and tablets are just stuck with old fashion tabs
Open the camera app - swipe to the right - there's an option for dual camera. This allows you to take a photo of what's in front of you and behind you at the same time. It overlays the photo (selfie) onto the picture you just took from the rear camera. Well when I hit this option on my phone it says the camera has failed. I looked in the Galaxy App Store to see if it needs an update, and it is nowhere to be found.
Anybody else have this issue or know a fix?

seems I don't have this option. Which type do you have?
I have an unlocked Note8 and I don't have dual camera mode on mine. Nor does it appear to be listed as a downloadable package.
I have a TMOBILE Note 8:
Here's what I am talking about.
That mode doesn't exist on my AT&T Note 8.
Isn't available for download either.
T-Mobile here as well and i don't have that option either.

I didn't download it, and I have the US Unlocked Note 8 on T-mobile. It works for me, it opens up fine. Can't really test out since I'm in a dark car now, but I can see both cameras working fine.

Also have the Sprint version and I don't have that Dual Camera setting and I don't even have the download setting to add any either. So odd.
I was able to send my self the beauty face apk and install it and that shows up. I guess someone will upload somewhere the other apks like dual camera to manually install.

It's not available in the Samsung app store.
Only 3 options exist and dual camera isn't one of them.
According to Sammobile, Samsung is sending out an OTA update that addresses some things about the camera and about wireless charging. Hoping the update includes the missing camera modes.
I'm on tmobile and it was already there. I think from when I had it from the note 7 because it has the download arrow next to it.

Is it possible you just answered your own question? Not knowing anything about cameras, could it be our S8+'s one rear camera app is not compatible with the Note 8's double rear camera?? Just a guess.
Hope you sort this out.

One of the main features of the new Google devices is the camera. The company has been continuously focusing on delivering a great camera user experience. Additionally, Pixel phones are known for being good smartphone shooters. That’s also the case with the new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones announced yesterday. Now that they’re official, APKs are starting to pop up, and the first one is the camera app.

My question it will come as update for older Pixel devices or it will stay only for Pixel 3 devices?

Hey guys, I have a little question: I've downloaded pixel 3 camera on my 2XL device and tried to use it. But, however, i was dissatisfied with the result: IMO old camera made better shots.
Can I, somehow, rollback to previous version? I tried to install older APKs from APK Mirror, but that didnt work: system always gives an error "APK is not installed"
I think it's just a matter of time for us to get night sight and top shot.
Google could improve AR stickers. It was so much advertised but it is still so much underrated.

Go into the Camera app info screen and disable it. It will downgrade it to the factory version. Then re-enable it and you should be good to go.

How to install to android 8.1? Mi 6X
I had an issue with 2/3 videos not recording audio. I had to restart the phone for it to work. Anyone else faced the same issue?
Android/iOS
Any one else notice how the UI is just a flipped version of the camera UI on iOS??
is Pop Color enabled?
Yep! pop, depth, zoom and the new panorama, it's missing the tracked focus on video and the auto shoot on expressions

What do you think should I install Camera from Pixel XL 3?
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
For what it's worth, I have had it installed around a full day with no issues. Shots are comparable in daylight. Over on YouTube user/zedomax has a quick comparison of running the app on a Pixel 2 against the old app on a 2XL and the low light performance seems to be improved in some situations.

Nope.
Seems as the older camera apk has a better image. Just compared both. The older apk is for sure more clear and less noise on the 2XL.
I'll wait until the official features roll out to the 2XL users.
Thanks for sharing however.

of course there is... just grab app cloner from play store and suit yourself
I have the Google Photos app set to be managed manually in power settings but the pictures still do not sync when I take them with the camera. I need to manually open the app to get the sync to start.
Ive been reading around and it seems on other phones modifying this option fixes the issues, but not on the mate 20 pro.
Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Damn, was hoping Android 10 would fix this issue. I wonder why its happening, turning off the battery saver features allows all my other apps to function in the background.
I think it's an app issue, it's also happening on other devices of mine such as Xiaomi. At some point I'll try rolling back to an earlier version of the app and see if it's working.
You all obviously didn't get the memo or notification that Google photo no longer backups automatically.

This is not related to what we are talking about, we're not worried about anything to do with google drive. Just the Photos application auto-syncing in the background - works on some phones and not others.
