qualcomm quickcharge 2.0 - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Ultra is on the list of supported devices. Tenergy charger is one of the first retail devices(other than the new motorola charger) with retail availability.
I spent $30 on the charger on amazon, but the green quickcharge led doesnt light up
has anyone had better luck?

I dont see it on the qualcomm website - are you sure its supported?

According to Qualcomm website only these Sony models are compatible:
Sony Xperia Z2
Sony Xperia Z3
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

Thanks guys you are right. "Find compatible device" leads to https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/devices/all?manufacturer=Sony which is just a generic page

All others do not!
This has been resolved in a few other topics here. You might find them when using Search.

ANT+ not functional -> missing ANT HAL

Just received the telephone the day before yesterday. Tried to get my HRM to couple to the device, to no avail. Looking into the problem with ANT+ tester, I discovered ANT HAL is completely missing (the ANT HAL service is present though)! WTF?
Sony advertises this phone as being ANT+ capable, but clearly it's not (yet!). I've contacted Sony about this, and are awaiting for their reply...

Afraid so yes... But miracles do happen still...
Maybe you got a test or demo unit. ?

I'm about to buy this phone but the missing ANT+ support is stopping me to do so.
It is obvious that ANT+ support on Z5 series is missing. Neither the tech specs on the sony product page show ANT+ under connectivity nor the device list of the ANT+ consortium (http://www.thisisant.com/directory/) lists the Xperia Z5 devices. All previous Xperia devices were shown immediately after the release day on this list.
For me this looks like Sony has dropped ANT+ support. Maybe they try to make pressure on Garmin to lower the license cost for ANT+. Who knows.

That would be disturbing. But a bit strange though, since ANT+ tester shows full ANT+ hardware and ANT HAL service etc. being present in the phone.
Reply from Sony on my enquiry was of course to throw back more questions to me and giving stupid advice like "repair your phone with out PC Companion software". When I checked this suggestion, just out of curiosity, the Z5 series wasn't even supported in this software, can you imagine? Fail, fail, fail.
Yeah looks like they crippled/removed ANT+ support in the last minute before release, maybe they missed to pay the license I really hope ANT+ support will be added with the next update.

Well, here in the Netherlands I don't even get replies from the Sony reps anymore. I've been exchanging FB messages with support, but all they do is refer to this stupid PC Companion software, which obviously can't solve the problem (especially since my Z5c is going completely crazy when I try to connect it to Win10 through USB. It's impossible to get a stable connection with the computer)...
As a "solution" I've now bought a dual-band HRM strap (Bluetooth and ANT+ capable) which set me back another 60 euros. Still better than having to wait for Sony to fix the problem they've created themselves, because that can take a long while, if ever!

none of mobile producers will admin that they released software with gaps, i expect this to be fixed in the new update
no update from sony yet, no ANT+ dedicated services installed by default
Surely the z5c is equipped with ANT+ h/w, just for whatever reason Sony haven't activated it into the current firmware... Correct? Or the device totally not equipped for ANT+?

I hope Z5 line is ANT+ equipped as per official specs but not enabled yet due to certification process not completed (as devices still not visible on thisisant website)
I have return mine today and asked for replacement (white unit)
Strange as in store Z5c had no problems detecting my suunto hrm

Z5C and Z5 Premium are actually listed now. But very strange that the (standard) Z5 is not listed.
Guys, everything you need to connect ANT+ device is here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.service.socket
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplus
and basic app to check if it works (assuming you have ANT+ device connected) is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.hrmon_antplus
AFAIR the same situation was with Z3C. I installed two first apps and connected my old Garmin HRM. With Endomondo (free) is working like a charm. You need only to activate in Endomondo options.

Night mode?

I have the Xperia XA so am still awaiting on Nougat, but I want to know from the Xperia X users who have already gotten 7.0 does it have the Night Light setting/Night mode in the system ui tuner?

Yes, system UI tuner is thankfully not disabled by Sony, nor is the code for night mode removed so it can be enabled from there with the help of an app called Night Mode enabler which can be downloaded from the Play store.
No root required.

That is good to know, thanks. It is about time such a feature became the norm in phones, it is so useful in Windows 10 after the Creators update. :victory:

This feature still isn't a norm in Android 7.0.x.
They've removed it from the finial builds of 7.0, and the only reason why it can be enabled with just an app was because the code for night mode was still present.
iOS 9.3 had it back in mid 2016
Windows Phone 10 Creator recently got it
Android... O hopefully.....

I thought they made it official in 7.1 Nougat? At least on Pixel devices? Not sure if my phone will get 7.1, we haven't even got 7.0 yet. Typical life of a mid ranger.

I think they'd have to wait for Mediatek to release with Android N kernel sources before any development can get under way.
Generally; Mediatek, and likewise Nvidia like to slack behind.
I though that the X was the mid ranger.

I honestly don't know what Sony were thinking last year, killing off the Z Series then bringing back the X Series with a over priced mid ranger which to them must of been a flagship. Then what makes it worse is that they've gotten rid of Xperia keyboard as well as some other stock Sony apps and replaced them with the Google equivalent, it just gives the impression that the ROM is half baked. I'd rather they made it all Google apps with the Sony media apps.
But it runs super smooth though. :good:

Agreed with the overpriced part. I only purchased with the X because it was on special. A medium-high mid ranger priced at below your typical mid ranger phone like the A5, 5X.
Clean light skin with some good nifty, but functional tweaks...... most other manufacturer phone.
Most of the Sony apps can actually be downloaded from the Play store, including the keyboard through it says that my device isn't compatable with it.

support for quick charge 4.0 or 4+?

Guys MR Jai Mani in one of his tweets told that Poco fone supports Qualcomm quick charge 4.0.
But did say that the diffrence between 3.0 and 4.0 aren't that noticeable.
First of all wonderful to hear that it's supported.
But
1. Does anyone really know how fast does qc 4.0 work.
2. Why is this device not listed under QC 4.0 supported devices in the Qualcomm website. And any method to check if our device is supported?
Guys if anybody has any experience with qc 4.0 or may know of a way to watch a qc4.0 charging speed test, kindly provide the info.
afaik the main difference between them is more safer to charge at higher amps

I was shopping for a QC 4 charger and found this - it seems (correct me if I'm wrong) there is minimal difference between the standards.
Don't suppose anyone can recommend a decent cheap compatible fast charger for the pocophone - I guess that would be qc3. I'm terrible for losing chargers and cables so I like to have a few spares.
Are all qc3 chargers and usb-c cables created equal, or is it like microusb, where I've had some that charge well, others that barely trickle?
Any suggestions?
Does anyone know whether the global version also supports QC4+?
Does europe version have QC 4.0+ and splash resistance?
AFAIK, the F1 supports qc4 (not 4+, though the standards are minimally different) and though it has no splash proof certification, it can handle a bit of rain and even (it's claimed) a dunk (though it has lots of moisture sensors inside, so don't tempt fate)

It seems pocophone f1 supports quick charge 4.0 and 4 plus as from the qualcomm device list
The qualcomm device list lists "Xiaomi Poco F1" but not "Xiaomi Pocophone F1".
Is it possible that only the Indian version supports it but not Global?
