Hey,
I received the material Gmail app some weeks ago and really liked the fact that it can have more than one account.
So i tried to set up my other account and it said the password was wrong. I tried it two more times, then I gave up.
Later that day I pulled out my N5... And the account was there! It works as it should, so google even synced the data.
For me, that means, something is not right on my tablet.
I tried:
Empty app cache
Delete app data
Empty cache and data and stop app
Reinstalling app updates
Disabling the app, then stopping, deleting cache and data, then reinstallling the updates
That didn't help.
Any ideas, suggestions?

hey guys,
I've been having a problem with my gmail calendar not syncing, which is very important to me. Not sure if anyone else has this issue. It worked for about 2 weeks then stopped. I still got email, but not sure if my contacts were syncing. I tried the manual sync in Accounts and it said it was synced, but it wasn't. No phone to gmail or gmail to phone on the calendar. I set up a multiple day event (every thursday) and that was when it stopped working.
Anyway, here's how I got it working again. I went into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications, then the ALL tab. First I opened the Calendar Sync Adapter and Clear Data. (That didn't fix it, but I'm not sure if it fixed something else, but this is all the steps I took.) Next was Calendar and Clear Data. (Still no fix). Lastly was Calendar Storage and Clear Data. I'm not sure if the last one was the important one or it was a combination of all three, but that seemed to fix it. I had to re-enter all the events that were originally inputted through my phone so you might want to write those down, but now my phone goes both ways... with gmail... haha. Hope this saves someone some time.
Oh, and I'm stock 2.2.2 not rooted.
What bloat ware have u frozen/uninstalled also you could try force stopping you calender and clearing data and reboot idk if it will do ne thing but its worth a shot
I'm unrooted stock. I haven't frozen or uninstalled any bloatware. I cleared the data and that seemed to do the trick for a day. Now I'm starting to have the same problem again. I haven't rebooted since so I guess I'll try that.
Hoping someone can help me out. For the past couple of weeks, I haven't been able to send emails out using the Gmail app. I can compose, attach, save....but when I go to hit the send button, or choose send from the menu, the button grays out instantly and nothing sends. Doesn't even go to the outbox.
I've read around the forums for the TB and other devices having the same issues and tried all of the tips. I've wiped app data, app cache, uninstalled all updates, uninstalled the .apk, reinstalled from the market. None of those potential solutions have worked for me . Sync works fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: it's happened on multiple roms, so I know that isn't the issue.
Thank God!
Sorry...I am just happy I am not the only person dealing with this.
I am experiencing the EXACT same thing. I was just about to post everything you did...plus
I cleared all drafts from GMail. I cleared all sent mail from Gmail. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling gmail. I have tried serveral different methods for restoring everything....
- skipping setup and turning off auto-restore and auto sync restoring everything with TiBu
- skipping setup and turning off auto-restore and auto sync restoring everything with MyBuPro
- skipping setup and turning off auto-restore. Signing in to google letting sync complete including apps. Then waiting 15 mins...rebooting and manually restoring only my missing user apps via TiBu.
- loaded the 2.11.605.3 rooted and deodexed but otherwise stock RUU posted in the deveopment forum and still it happened after restoring all my apps.
Everytime...I think I have it beat...but within a day...NOPE! No sending again.
At first I thought it was restoring the apps...BUT
What is F'n strange is that it does not break as soon as the restore is finished. In fact I make sure to email myself at another email address each step of the way to make sure if I can identify where I am going wrong. Each time everything is fine at first.
It is usually between a few hours and a day when Gmail stops working.
This last time I noticed that the gmail app updates itself when I am done...even if I make sure not to in my restore. But I immediately sent myself an email to that address and it worked. Then several hours later...it was broken again.
Not sure if this is related...but I noticed that gmail duplicates that address in the drop down after it breaks. What I mean is that when I type the first few letters of my name....all my emails show up....but each only once. But after it breaks ... the email I sent the tests too shows up in that list twice.
This is the most maddening thing I have ever dealt with in my 3 years of owning some rooted droid or another.
I am tempted to just unroot and restore to stock...and pray that it goes away and does not plague me ever again after 11.11.11
Return to stock and see if the problem persists. If it does call up verizon, explain to them what is happening, may be a problem with the phone, not sure how, but just maybe.
I assume this is the best way?

So I tried wiping and loading a fresh install...and only reinstalled a few of the most vital and used apps.
Have had no problem for 3 days. So clearly it was a bad app causing this. I will experiment this weekend to see if I can figure out which one.
I've had this problem come and go, but telling Titanium Backup to wipe the data for the GMail app always fixes the issue for me.
Can you wipe data of primary gmail address? What happens then - does it take you to the startup screen to sign into gmail from scratch?

It just does it for the whole app... So basically all 4 of my GMail accounts had no messages on the phone until the app successfully synced with GMail. Sending normally works fine after that.
I'll try that next time. Thanks
Am I the only one having issues with Gmail not picking up new emails? So far, even though I have it configured to automatically sync, I have to manually sync in Gmail to pick up new emails. I have tried dropping and re-adding the Google account, turning off sync and back on, clearing data in the Gmail app, and restarting the phone. I read somewhere that it may have to do with being on Wifi at work, but it doesn't matter if I'm on Wifi or 4g, still the same behaviour. I have a work email account setup through activesync and am having no issues with that. My old phone (Droid 2) would pick up new Gmail emails within seconds. I'm running the root66 stock-based rooted ROM. Any ideas welcome!
Aaaand, it's fixed. I'm honestly not sure what did it. Newish things I tried included fixing permissions, clearing data/cache for Gmail and Google Services Framework, clearing system/dalvik cache. I'm now getting emails within a minute of them being sent, which was what I came to expect on Gingerbread. Who knows? Cheers!
I have two devices that sync with my Google Calendars (all under one Google account of course). The problem I am having is certain entries of certain calendars are not syncing to my Razr at all. When i check on my computer on the website, everything is there. My Second device, which is the Xyboard 10 inch, is setup the exact same way as the Razr is for my calendars, and everything shows up with no issues. Only my Razr is having this problem. I've tried clearing the data for the calendar, I've checked all the settings to make sure every calendar is synced, I installed business calendar and it is doing the same thing as the stock calendar. I even went so far as to hard reset my Razr, the first thing i setup was the calendar with nothing else on it, and it STILL will not sync all of my calendars correctly. What could be happening here? Please someone help!
Appreciated!
Are they ones not showing up by any chance set up as "private"?
Those will only sync to the device they were made on I think.
My first choice was clear data. But I see you did that. I am on JB and actually have three items that can be cleared. Calendar, Calendar Storage, and Google Calendar Sync. Did you clear all? Calendar also has a cache that can be cleared.
I think cache clearing is what fixed it on my old phone when I had this problem.

Yup that is one of the first things i checked, They are all set to default. and have no issues showing up on my Xyboard. But for some reason they are not showing up on my Razr. For Example. One of my Calendars is " my work schedule " ... My lunch break for one day is showing up. but other entries like meetings are not showing up at all on my Razr. I go over to my Xyboard and EVERYTHING is showing, Same on my laptop. I'm not sure what is going on with it. Thanks for the help!
I did a factory reset.

I have as well, and before anything else i checked my calendars. and it was still doing the same thing
I was able to fix it! For some reason no matter what i did, clear cache, wipe data, confirm calendars weren't private, confirmed all were visible and set to sync, even hard reset, none worked. So I used Titanium backup to uninstall the stock calendar app, then i cleared the calendar storage and installed Google calendar from the market. Once that was done they all started showing up again. When i did all these steps before i didn't remove the stock calendar and it still wouldn't sync correctly. So i'd say something was out of sorts with the stock calendar.

Hello
I'm using a galaxy nexus with the newest version of jelly bean.
for the past couple weeks, ive been experiencing a constant barrage of gmail signin failed error messages.
im able to login to gmail using the gmail application, as well as the generic email application. in the google account settings, it is able to be synced, and manually syncing doesn't prompt the error message.
i googled this issue and came across a couple solutions - changing my password using the chrome mobile browser, clearing the cache, etc, but nothing seems to work.
anybody have further suggestions for me? its getting fairly frustrating having this notification pop up every few minutes or so :/
any assistance would be greatly appreciated
thanks!
I would try to RE clear data, cache, delete same in google account services, than lastly... delete your previously set up accounts and re log in. If all that don't work do it all over again BUT also delete the apk and reinstall it fresh.
