So I have had the Xperia Z ultra for over a year, and today I have had a problem with the screen. The problem is that the screen auto-touches itself, so basically I can not do anything the phone I tried the next things to fix the issue, but the issue is still there :
- Clean the screen
- Remove the anti-shatter film
- Clean screen again
Does anybody knows a fix for this? Do I need to dimantle the phone to repair the issue?
Ok, decided to do some tests. I used a hair dryer to heat up the Z ultra screen, after that, the screen was more responsive that before (didn't go crazy, more than half of the screen was working all right.)
It is possible there was moist on the screen which caused the freak out .

I've cleaned the x10mp with wet wipes which contained a bit of alcohol, to remove fingerprints & grime.
Now, there is a rectangular region in the middle of the screen where touching produces nothing. There are no dead pixels, as far as I can see, just touching there isn't picked up by the phone.
Pressing anywhere else on the screen works fine.
Any suggestions?.
TIA
i think it cant be repaired if you really want to fix it you should by a new screen
sounds like hardware problem. Send it to service. maybe they can do something. or, they will tell u to change the touch screen...

Hi, I have an Xperia Ray, and the screen is scratched everywhere with small scratches that seem to refract the light from the screen and make multicolored effects. I have some kind of OCD and I really can't stand this. How much would it cost to get it fixed. Or do you guys know any 'solution' to fix this myself? Thanks
hello all . yesterday i received brand new Sony Xperia Z2 and I notice my phone maybe defect. When i press the touch screen with little pressure it leaves a impression/blurry the image on the screen. is that normal ? can somebody try to press screen with little more pressure see if you have this and i feel the screen is kind of cheap and plastic feel.

It seems you get a emulational mobile phone.
Tested mine and no blurs here. Send it back for a replacement.
I've been using my Xperia Z Ultra for 8 months but on Thursday the screen crack even though I did not dropped it. I was wearing baggy short pants around knee length and put it inside my side pocket. Honestly speaking i have no idea what happened. The front glass is smooth so i think it's an internal damage, no scratch/crack on the back glass also. Anyone had the same problem before? Should i try my luck and go to the service centre hoping that they will fix it for free? *heres a pic*h.ttp://i.imgur.com/5d68FlI.jpg

Worth. Why? Coz sony has problems with xz and xz1 and their breaking screens coz their screens are to big (physics is breaking it) and out xzu has similar screen, but bigger screen, so its more possible that screen will break "itself"

You can try, it looks like some people get them fixed ok, others not
Does the Xperia Z Ultra still have touchscreen issues using the latest stock ROM? (If so, also, does it go away with custom ROMS?)
I'm using stock XZU 6806, that occasionally has touchscreen issues; goes bizarre, keeps vibrating, going back opening then closing apps, etc. Sometimes the phone crashes; unresponsive, then automatically reboots.
Have an illumishield screen protector front and back, over the shatterproof screen protector. A dirty screen (Fingerprints, etc.) might be the primary cause of an unresponsive touchscreen . I use Bryson screen cleaner and a microfiber cloth to keep my screen clean, really works, and got very good reviews on Amazon, where I purchased.
