Mugen Power Extended Battery First Impressions & Review - G3 Accessories

Hello everyone! Here are my first impressions. (I'm going to reserve the next post as well to later insert my final review.)
Before I begin, please take a look at this thread for more information: http://mugen.co/mugen-power-6200mah-extended-battery-for-lg-g3-with-battery-door.html
FIRST IMPRESSIONSWell, I got this battery on Friday the 28th of November. When I first opened it I thought holy cow, this is going to make my device a monster! And well, it kind of does. The battery is at least double the thickness of the original and as you know it requires a new back plate.

The good news is that the backplate incorporates all functionality of the original OEM one: NFC and wireless charging. I don't use wireless charging so I can't confirm 100% that it works. But we'll imagine it does!
Here are some images I took from my tablet.
Sorry for the bad quality. If anyone really needs HD pictures I'll be more than happy to whip out the camera for it.
Yes, it makes it fatter. Yes, it also makes it heavier. The weight is never a problem for me. But the size could be a problem for some people. The new back has a kickstand which hides the grill for the speaker, which is fine. I'll test the volume output with and without the backing to see if there is a big difference. It does make the device easier to type on. As you know today phones are getting thinner and thinner and no doubt Samsung, LG, and Sony are on top for thin Android devices. But thinner doesn't really mean better. It's harder to dissipate heat and it has less room to breathe. OK. So I'd prefer thicker devices and just slap a fatter battery in it. The LG g3 already has good battery life for my usage.
My usage is the following :
Emails
Whatsapp, Line, Google hangouts
Web browsing
Taking pictures
Browsing the Play Store.
Phone calls
BitTorrent Sync always running and syncing to my server and PCs.
I don't play games on my phone as I use my tablet for that.
I took it off the charger at 8:30 AM this morning, and it's now around 11:20 PM. It has been a really relaxing day for me. I've used some Google Music while cleaning around and such. I've taken a few pictures and a bunch of messages. Let me share some of my screen shots. Please take into account this is still the first charge, and it could (and should) change.
The feeling to the touch us OK. It's plastic fantastic. The feeling reminds me of my old samsung galaxy phones (s3 and note 2). It's quite smooth. I prefer the touch of the original back as it feels "more premium" but hey, I'm not going to complain. I believe the added battery life you're getting far outweighs the plasticy feeling.
I'm going to do testing with the camera with this replacement backing and without the backing to see if it has any effect on the camera / flash. Please look to the full review to see what it looks like. I'll post comparative pictures.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if you'd like me to test anything in particular. I'm not going to charge the battery again until it falls below 10%. So at this rate it'll take a while! haha.
UPDATE AFTER 24 HOURS:Wow, this thing is going to be near impossible to kill on a weekend. It's estimating with my usage a total of 7 days (6 more day) per charge.
My usage is the following:
I used a lot of media services (to sleep I use White Noise for an hour) and then Google Music as well. You also have my OST. Monster of a battery!
UPDATE AFTER 48 HOURS:Wow, this thing is going strong. This is after 48 hours of usage. I'm not a heavy user, but I did take a lot of pictures over the weekend. Played a lot of music. And some light browsing and a few phone calls (over the internet and real calls).
Here are the screen shots after 48 hours.
The next post I'll do is when it's dying and then post those statistics. Now that I'm back to a normal work day, I'll be using it more. I had a lot of family functions this weekend. See you in another day or so! After that I'll move on to my final review.

Full Review
Here is the full review. Please read the initial review as I don't want to repeat too much.
I've taken the liberty of taking some higher res pictures. This is a big battery!
It's a big battery, but hey, at least it incorporates a kickstand.
Here are some images of the actually battery and some images comparing the batteries (original and Mugen)
And the battery doors
As you can see, there is a difference in design. The battery door on the original battery without a doubt feels more premium, and it also looks nicer. The Mugen battery is just plastic. But on the inside of the Mugen case they've taken the liberty and added everything the original door has: NFC and Qi Charging.
It still feels like a solid battery door, so I doubt it'll just break.
Usage:This battery was very hard to kill. I am in no ways a heavy user, but I imagine that there will be people like me who will travel or need normal usage and not be attached to an outlet every day. In my normal usage of the OEM battery, I got 1 full day out of it, and maybe 1.5 days.
You'll get 3-4 days out of the Mugen battery. While I was testing the battery on my completely stock device I used a total of:
76 hours (over 3 days)
6 hours and 10 minutes of Screen on Time
nearly 4 hours of White Noise (for sleeping purposes)
Over 2 hours of Google Music
Hundreds of messages sent via Whatsapp, Line and email
Maybe 50 or so pictures taken with the camera
BitTorrent Sync always on and always syncing multiple folders
I'd say: Not bad!
Here are the screen shots
Recommendable? Totally! This battery kicks butt! It lasts SO LONG! I imagine most people could get 10 hours of SOT on it without a problem. If over the course of 3 days I could get 6 hours, I imagine that within 24 hours you could easily double that time.
Pros: Long battery life.
Cons: Big and you need an extra battery door.
If you need the juice, I'd recommend this battery. I really dislike carrying around those battery power packs. It's just another device to charge. I much prefer an extended battery! So head on over to their website and pick up a battery if battery life is an issue for you!
Thanks Mugen for sending me this battery to test out!

Well done !

Thank you guys very much! [emoji4] it always feels good to have your work appreciated!
I must admit, coming to an end of another day and still having 63% more battery left... I have to say, I'm really enjoying this! Haha. Tomorrow I'll post more screenshots of usage.
Kind regards.

You must not be using it to heavily I would imagine ? Not a whole lot of SOT at least ?

I'm still waiting on mine too
2SHAYNEZ

If I had 1.5 hours of SOT my battery would still be at 80% so that's not bad, but I wonder how long you can make it last.
On the stock battery the most I managed was 5 hours SOT and on my other phone I can get 6-7. Do you only use your phone for music?

Over the weekend I didn't get around to using it too much, so there's just the 3+ hours of SOT and I'm still over 50%, and it's been 2 full days. I use a lot of music (Google Music & Other). As I've mentioned in other threads I'm not a heavy user. I'm just your standard user. I use it for messaging, phone calls and pictures. Some light browsing as well. I move everything else to my tablet. I imagine the other users who are receiving the battery are much more hardcore users than I am! So you'll see intense use from them for sure haha.

Nice thanks for the info

Note likely. I'm sure you can find SOMETHING for it, but it won't be made EXACTLY for this battery.
Also, I'd like to take the opportunity to push the final review on this page! See post 2 for higher resolution images and final times.

Got mine yesterday... I like it .. Not as big as I thought it was going to be honesty....but I have owned one before so I knew what to expect. I am pretty sure I could modify my nillkon bumper case to work with it but not going to ruin a case trying.. I'm pleased .. Awesome review as well. Extremely well done.!!!

2hrs sot.... 11hrs off charge ... At 88%.
I'm going to wait for about 3rd full charge to share some screenies with you guys.I thinks I could go pretty far with probably more then 10+ hrs sot. A+ for mugen in my book
2SHAYNEZ
---------- Post added at 11:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:03 PM ----------
Also you will notice when deep sleeping with these new extended batteries that the percentage will actually go up a little because the phone needs to get used to the battery. So it will take a few charges to actually see full potential

I'm about to post screen shots when I get to about 3% to 4% (of first charge ) I used the crap out of it with heavy gaming and YouTube and all kind of social media.. I tries to kill it when I could. It did pretty good. I'm also running P.A. so not sure if it helped or did worse them what a stock ROM will do ..

Damn dude! That's awesome! I knew if i reduced my 4 days to just 1, you could easily get to 10 hours if I got 6... But whoa! This is a beast of a battery, that's for sure! haha.

I'm sure once I get my ROM tweaked fully and under clocked a bit I'll hit 2days with over 10 hrs screen on. Setting it as a goal of mine lol. I love the battery. Its a great addition. I've owned a mugen before they don't disappoint.:beer:

I also was beasting out on games and videos so I'm assuming less gaming and more browsing and not labor intensive stuff will make this thing last FOREVER
2SHAYNEZ

This is my mugen battery result for 1 day, most is for gaming and chatting.
The problem from this battery is the back cover very slippery, i hope can get any case for protect the phone screen and body.

Received mine today.
It is really big

Mine came in Friday..I charged it Friday night.. I don't use my phone as much on the weekend as I do during the work week .. But I'm 35 hours into my first charge cycle with about 7 hours screen on time that includes about 2 hours of Gaming.. And still have 45% battery left.
So far I'm impresses. Will charge tonight and run another cycle with hard usage and write my full review.

How could you possibly expect a battery with OVER THREE times the capacity of the original to not be at least three times the size of the original?!?!
Maybe if the battery had 10 - 20% extra, it might manage to squeeze in the original cover - but not 200% extra! These guys aren't magicians!
I bought a 2500mah one from ebay which also has a huge hump (which I expected!). Its not pretty to look at - but my only purpose for it is to watch films on the plane when travelling, so I'm not that fussed. I'll just switch it back when I get off the plane!
On another note - I usually charge my original battery every night, but this week I thought I'd try running it flat and see how long it lasts. Almost 4 days with a few calls / texts and about 15mins of GPRS internet a day... and one day with about 30mins of music through its speaker!
Not to shabby really!
I found a Photo with a 3000 mAh Battery:

Thats EXACTLY what I bought my 2500mah battery for!!! Movies on the plane to Canada, then GPS tracking of my snowboarding using snowranger software. As its hidden in my pocket, I don't really care what it looks like! I just hope that the 2500mah is enough to last about 8 hours of GPS and MP3.

Yep, I acknowledge it's my fault since I bought it without adequate amount of researches of the item. I know that 3000/4500 mah should lasts many times longer than the original one, but it really doesn't looks decent, that why I finally decided to return it....

I'm surprised to read that. My diamond would go through a battery in roughly 7-8 hours... .thus the reason why I kept two spares on a separate charger.
I received my HD a week ago and at the end of a 10-12 hour day, I've used 25% percent, sometimes 50%.
Just for reference, I use the phone for my business and personal use. I run roughly 5000 minutes a month so I'm on it a decent amount.
I'm THRILLED with battery life on the HD compared to the Diamond.
Mark
There's a 1500mah battery kicking about on ebay, only a shade under 10% more than than the original, but should be able to squeeze a decent amount of time extra for basic day to day usage
One thing we must all consider is our background running apps.
I've heard that S2U2 drains the battery fast... I have it installed on mine but can't really make a comparison against what it was like if I hadn't installed it.
Check your \Windows\StartUp folder. If there's something there you've installed, question if you really need it on all of the time.
Also, use button mapping tools to kick off background apps that you occasionally use.
e.g. I use MobileMagic for screen rotation on all apps and button mapping. This runs in the background at all times. I've also install TaskFacade to manage my runnig apps. By default this runs in the background and is likely to drain the battery. So, I simply removed it from the StartUp folder and used the Back button mapping in Mobile Magic to start it up when I need it. On first use it takes a few seconds to run, but thereafter it's pretty quick.
At least this way, you have more control over startup and only engage apps when their really needed.
Just my $0.02 worth...

roundup at time of posting:
1500mAh pricey but quality seller
1700mAh cheap and does the biz
1950mAh mixed results - one guy got worse performance than the 1350mAh stock under heavy load, another guy took it easy and it lasted for ages.
Jury still out on the 1950 but the 1700 seems like a good buy, tho you might have to do some rooting around to buy it if you're a yank.
Another Battery Option
Another option for more power is something like th eGear reserve battery pack. It is small, rechargeable and can be used with any future phones you might get. It has multiple adapters (mini usb, ipod, ...). I have been using mine for a couple of months and have been very happy. I could not find the one I have online but here is something similar:
http://www.computer-takeaway.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=61&Itemid=31
Z

So all those who got their rezound early, hows the battery?

As the title says I haven't seen anyone actually test the battery for a couple days, it's usually review and move on.
So how is it?
Well it hasn't been mentioned so it probably isn't worse than we expect it to be.
Also interested to know. Of course since this will be the first few days people have it, they'll be using it a ton so it may not be the best estimate on battery life but I would love to know an idea of how much to expect.
They haven't had time to calabrate yet.

First charge with heavy use got greater than expected life. I will still buy an extended one, but thats cuz i hate charging. 7 hours of heavy use on 3g only.

7 hours of heavy use isn't bad. So idling with 4G off probably isn't terrible then. That is what I am most concerned about. Hopefully we will get kernel source and just get some undervolt going.

yeah not to mention that after you root you can flash leaner kernels and ROM's. But we'll have to wait for development to pick up, I really hope we see some good developers here.
So right now it's 1am and I took the phone off of the charger at 8:21 with 85% battery life. It is now at 47% with some steady texting, exchange activesync, some web browsing, and a 7 minute video all on 4g. I'm not sure what to make of that but it seems decent.

DAMMIT I WANT!!! 3 more days...
I don't know that I've charged it fully since I got it. It was close to fully charged before I went to a wedding tonight. Lasted all 6 hours or so I was there, but was tuckering out (~20%) by the time I left. But I did spend a bit of time playing with the phone. And 4G was on the whole time. And I turned live wallpaper on, played with my weather and clock widgets, tried to get a wifi connection that wouldn't work, browsed the web a bit.
I recharged on the way home to about 50%, and sitting around playing with it for the last hour to 1.5 hours, it's still at 40%.
If it makes you feel any better, the biggest battery hog was the display, BY FAR. Like 80-something percent to the <20% combined for the other functions. I'll try and remember to post my impressions from my first "normal" day of use tomorrow and let you know how the battery fairs.

I got mine yesterday and I can say it is about 25-30% better than a rooted thunderbolt....My logic says once rooted we will get really good battery life.
I am a heavy user and I can say I turned off fast boot and bump charged it 3 times on Thursday night. I gave it a heavy use all day on Friday.
Took it off the charger at 10 am around 8 pm I was on 35%. So that was 10 hours of heavy use and still had 35% left. If I was using the rooted bolt I would have been dead around 5:30 and a stock bolt...even sooner.
hope all these battery estimates are true, sounds like this will be my next phone!
Took it off the charger at about 11am today... Was close to 100%, maybe 95%. Just hooked it up to charge about 10 minutes ago (so off charger completely for ~10 hours). It had ~10% battery life left when I hooked it up.
Had Wifi and/or 4G on the entire day, including an hour and a half in a bad service area, where it fought for a bit to find service until I logged into the wifi network. Played about 1 hour worth of Pandora on high quality setting. A couple minutes of 4G Youtube. Tons of tinkering with games and downloading apps and playing around. Screen brightness was set to something like 30%. live wallpaper enabled. Weather and clock widget enabled. Data tracking widget enabled. Did a few seconds of video Skype too. I would say it was consistent use all day, but not necessarily heavy for most of the day.
EDIT: I forgot. One short phone call. I'm sort of a bad guinea pig for battery life on a phone because I really don't make a lot of phone calls. Consider my use representative of someone who uses data during his commute and for texting/games/forum/app usage.

I get no service at all. If I leave the 3g on, phone won't make it past 5 hours. Turn the 3G/WiFi off and battery percent goes down a few points.
I need one!!!
Kellex over a Droid-Life has gotten just over 10 hours of normal usage (all in 4G) for the past couple of days. He also stated he is not a heavy user by any means.

Seems like it isn't as bad as most thought it would be.
Battery - Caution
I remain interested in the phone but undecided due to some really bad hardware failures I have on my Dinc.
While I am very interested in battery life like everyone else, please everyone keep in mind that "how is the battery" is as personal a question as "which radio is the best one to use."
There is no way one person can truly tell you how the battery will be for you. If you sit in an interior office without wifi, and have sync contacts and facebook set for every hour, that ALONE will cause a drain that may not be comparable.

Yay, you got another post!
That aside ... just please everyone keep that in mind when making battery life decisions based on what others experience; battery life can be GREATLY impacted by things well outside what programs you might run and how many texts you might send.

Battery Life

As a over night worker i was able to put the lte thru a good days/nights work ..
my night started at 10pm with a green light full charge. for the rest of the night i put it thru everything my evo og would have gone thru plus maybe a little more due to it being new. This includes texting, phone calls, streaming pandora ( roughly 2-3 hrs ), playing mp3s ( about an hr ), little youtube and toped off with checking news and weather. Now a night like this would normally net me around 19% when i get off or even maybe a lil boost on the community charger thats left in the breakroom.
When i left work at 645 i had over 60% battery life. I couldnt be happier.. due to it being a holiday weekend it will be abused a lot som im looking forward to see how far i can really drain it.
My usage is a lot lighter than yours, but the battery really seems to hold up well. I took it off the charger when left work yesterday around 5 and when I came back to work this morning at 8, it was at 85%. My OG Evo, with it's 2-year old battery, would have been well under 50% by then. Unlike most folks, I charge at work and go through the night without charging.
my wifes evo cannot last a days work which is usually 10 hrs or so without a charger.. told her to stop watching so much midget porn but i guess a girl has her needs
The midget porn will get you every time!

Hard to put it down once you start watching it. Literally drains your battery faster than anything else. Especially when it's in 3D on the EVO 3D.
That's awesome....I actually bought a 3600 battery for my Evo 4G just because of how heavy use it gets. Still only lasts a day and a half or so.
I won't get a true test of the battery life until I'm back at work on Tuesday, but for now, my phone has been off the charger for a little over three hours with wifi on and GPS/Bluetooth/LTE off. I've made a few phone calls and sent a couple of text messages and e-mails. My phone is also doing Gmail sync and Exchange push sync. My battery sits at 93%. Protracting that same amount of use throughout the day it will be at about 84% by the time I would normally get home from work. Pretty dang good.
I work night shift. unplugged at 5 pm yesterday. was at 30% left after 15 hours. over 3 hours screen on time.
Ive got LTE on, GPS on, Bluetooth on, and Wifi On. medium use, few calls all under 3 minutes, some texting and browsing, ect
off the charger for 4 hours on the dot, and im at 74%
Well, if you want to make a real test turn that WiFi off and turn on gps whole time and do your regular work in 3g. Even an old EVO will have a good battery life on WiFi.

This is great to hear! I was wondering about the battery life. I am curious how it will last for me when I get it (ordered through WireFly). I have a horrible signal here at work with my Epic, and it drains my battery way too fast searching for a signal.
I am pretty impressed with the battery life so far too. This phone is light years better than the 3D in every way.

I know it wasn't a reply to me but ill chime in here on one part.. I never turn GPS off.. my og EVO never used 4 g at work.. was to scared to kill battery lol. Only thing I did not have on was bluetooth.
Edit: I still have yet to hook up to charger and I'm betting I'm no lower then 40%

One thing that eats a lot of battery is gps, and one thing that doesn't is BT.
You really goofed on that one man.
Also, if you go under Settings/Power/Battery use, it will tell you your battery percentage.

From my testing on wifi, so far it's about the same as Evo 3D and Epic Touch in playing youtube videos in the dark - about 4 min of video per percent of battery charge.
This was only after one charge/discharge cycle. So I'm sure it will be better.
Love the battery life! Damn og EVO had to stay on charger with extended battery.

I don't know what "great" means. It's a very subjective term which means different things for different people. My "great" might be getting 7+ hours of HD video play. Yours might be getting through a day of work with one hour of screen on time. I don't know.
If you want to compare battery life please post which radios were used, the usage graph, the percentage graph, and the on times for display and voice calls.
And the goof. Well, the goof is that you would be getting "greater" battery life with gps off.
good for me is a comparison to the OG evo.. if i can have the same usage with nothing turned off but BT and have 50% more battery life then it was great. streaming pandora over 3g and other misc stuff i did during night would have demanded a battery charge by at least the end off work.. i still have yet to hook up

5200mah extended battery for under $10 review

hi all i just received a 5200mah extended battery with back cover.
after i give it its full charge i will let you all know what kind of life im getting out of it, my battery i got with the note don't even last a full day with lite use so im trying out this extended one.
the battery is 2 1/2 x the size of the original one and the battery cover is a great fit with a rubbery feel to it and standoffs just little nubs to keep the back of the phone off of the surface it is sitting on.
it took only a few days to show up and $9.39 you cant beat the price.
they also have nice cases and accessories almost all under 10 dollars.

i'm a bit disappointed with the stock battery as well.. been looking for an alternate.. but i didnt really want a bulging-out battery with a whole new back cover.. ultimately, i've got no choice..

it is now 6:30pm and sitting at 73 percent battery with heavy use since my phone is my main computer so wifi always on emails about 20, sms about 10, talk about 30 min, internet a lot and music 1hr.
so from 1:05 to 6:30 thats 27 percent in 5hr 25min, way better than oem.
will update a lil later on life, going to get some netflix in on the phone.
27 percent loss in 5 1/2 hours, i would be charging my oem by now.
the site i got it off of is a great site and there cases are also nice and well under 10 and some under 5 with free shipping on anything.

it was shipped out on the 8th from nj usa and arrived on the 10th, it took so long to start reviewing it because i was in tacoma with family.
the cover is tight, nice and no gaps, has a rubber style finish with a good feel.
i didnt think i would like the taper area on the battery cover but it makes it easier to hold the phone.
it is at http://tmart.com and here is a link

look up the cases also.
down to 65 percent 10:00pm my time so 1:05 to 10:00 5 mins shy of 9hrs heavy use and still have over half power.
i will update tomorrow since its late and im ready for bed but all in all you can get over 18 hours easy with heavy use and over 24 hours on lite use maybe a few days.
when i say heavy use i mean the only thing i do on the pc is firmware and forum posts everything else i do on my phone, ie, netflix, youtube, music, mms sms talk, camera and also use it for music in the car and much more so im always on my phone.
11:08 pm down to 63%

Mine was working perfect, until it just upped and died on me. It had 50% or so battery life, walked from work to the shuttle to go to the parking lot, and its completely dead.
It was only $10, but just beware, my battery only lasted a few months.
woke up this morning and around 9am it was sitting at 55 percent so 20 hours and less than 50 percent drop not bad

i have only had to return one item to tmart and that was a laser pointer but they have great customer service and exchanged it without no problems.
we get our wireless controllers, phone items and lots of other stuff from there.
my issue with the oem battery is i drove from tacoma wa to spokane wa a 4.5 hr drive and had my phone in my pocket the whole time, well when i got home i was sitting at 20 percent battery after only 4.5 hours and no real use.
thats why i decided to go with a extended, i figured if i even got a few more hours i would be happy but this battery went way beyond a few hours.
my phone don't seem to be heating up like it used to could be related or not just saying.
Got the battery to die it took 24 hours but I did a full backup using cwm and flashed 3 roms and re installed all apps with each rom install just to test them out after flashing, backups and all put a lot of stress on the phone so in all I will say its a great battery.
Screen on time for my phone was almost 10hrs

Battery Stats HOX+ (AT&T)

We should generate our own thread with battery stats for the AT&T version of The HTC One X+ because we have the LTE version. I expect that our batteries will drain faster. I will post my stats as soon as I am through my 3rd charging cycle. +/- power saver will be interesting as well as overnight in sleep mode. I normally don't optimize a lot to keep my battery drain low. My GNex made it without a problem through a day and night.
I'm on my second cycle and the battery has been exceptional! 1.5 days on a single charge so far.

I can't give you any good battery data yet, as I just got home from the store with it and I've been busy setting everything up the way I want it and installing apps. I was, however, very surprised after installing CPU Spy to see how low the processor will slow down...

6 hours with slight/medium use and I am down to 50%: No battery optimizations. Screen is on auto-brightness. I will use better battery stats to get a better idea what drains the battery. I burn 10% of battery/hour with light/medium use that's too much.

Interesting. If I look at better battery stats CPU states the lowest my phone is going to is 475 even though it could go low as 50. Have to run the stats for an entire battery charge to get some useful information.

This was hours after getting home with my new phone, just after installing tons of apps. So CPUspy didn't have much data to work with. Now that I unlocked my bootloader, I'm going to have to start all over again!

If I open better battery stats the overview is on the first screen I see. You only see it when the phone is not charging. You have to wait a while until it populates with data. No root necessary. Try to switch the view from since unplugged to since charged and back. That might help.
Interesting. I got my replacement device yesterday and I ran better battery stats: My battery drains now only 5%/hour instead of 10% and the CPU clocks down to 50Mhz while not in use. My first HOX+ never went below 500Mhz. Looks like not the battery was kaputt but the CPU had some issues I would say.
It's seems as if I'm now getting a average of 20 hours so. Constantly on wifi, a couple calls, some email and light gaming. I have to say coming from the vivid I'm highly dissapointed. I was expecting not to constantly feel like I'm tethered to wall but that doesn't seem to have changed.

20 hours on battery power makes you constantly feel tethered to the wall? I think your expectations are a bit unrealistic. You're on a quad-core device with a huge high-def screen. 20 hours seems very reasonable to me. Charging once a day is pretty standard for most modern portable devices. I think 16 hours is about the target I look for, that way it can be plugged in when I sleep and run unplugged the rest of the day.
