I need the Google Apps Device policy to work on this phone. I managed to install it by manually putting the apk onto the phone and installing it. It installed fine, but doesn't seem to want to encrypt the phone. When choosing to encrypt the phone, the phone reboots and it says Encryption unsuccessful and it has a button to say reset phone as your phone's memory is basically unreadable. I reboot the phone and everything is back to the way it was, without resetting the phone.
When i first got the phone it had 0.89Gb free, so i partitioned the phone and it now has 2 x 3Gb partitions after i flashed the phone.
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
Can anyone help, or shed some light please?

Hi
I have no idea about your problem. I have bought this phone 2 months ago, and have a basic problem with it. Maybe you can help me.
It is assumed to have 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. But my phone has 1GB RAM, 1GB "Intenal storage", and 5.3GB "Phone storage". The only 1GB internal storage is useable to install applications. I mean after installing a few applications, it shows an error message that there is not enough memory. I checked the "storage" and found that the available space in the internal storage is less than 80MB and available space in the phone storage is more than 4.5GB.
Do you have the same experience? Is there any way to fix it? for example merging this two part of storage.
Thanks

hey there,your problem is that your device has two separate partitions,internal storage and sd card,(not ex sd card so don't get confused),also kitkat 4.4.2 does not allow devices to store applications on sd card,(don;t ask me why...they are just idiots),so what you will have to do is swap your partitions over and add your sd card memory to your internal memory so that you will have more space for apps and stuff,so follow this guide in the link below and you should be ok

This sounds like a part of the Bootloader or OS is missing some parts or files. It encrypts the device pre-OS, so maybe your device does not have the necessary ability to encrypt. What device do you own and carrier please
Thanks for the reply.
The device is a Landvo L200
The carrier is Vodafone IE - Ireland

Ok, I see the dilemma!!
That app is strictly for enterprise management of devices. It would use the currently in-place security of the device. It depends on other apks to work correctly.
Does your device have the encrypt setting that looks like this??

Then...You need to find a developer to assist you in creating or installing this feature into your device. Our find a rum that already has it built in!

Thank you for this post.
I will profit it to put a problem that I've since Honeycomb and continuous with ICS.
I've created a script to have the music in media library from sdcard2, that script was in init.d folder.
Since then I' m getting the error message:
"android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. please try again."
Even after deleting the script I get this error every time that tablet starts.
I thought that with ICS upgrade this get fixed, but no, I still have the problem.
I'm sorry in advance if this is wrong topic to post this, it's just that I need 10 posts to create threads and post replys in other topics and I don't wanna just bluntly spam in order to ask one questions.
I have a problem rooting my tablet :
Model number : Sony Tablet S
Android version : 4.0.3
Kernel version : 2.6.39.4 [email protected] #1
Build number : TISU0017700
I've followed this rooting guide and also used Automated ADB Driver Installer for Sony Tablet S and P.
Seems like everythings working :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But I'm getting this problem at the very start of rooting with permissions, I tried old and updated rooting tools several times, but I constantly get this one error.
In any case, I hope this problem can be solved and I have everything right. ( Was trying to root a device first time ) x_x

"Android version: 4.0.3" is the problem. To the best of my knowledge, at this time, a tablet that has already been updated to Android 4.0.3 cannot be rooted, nor can it be downgraded to a version of Android that can be rooted. You will need to wait until an exploit is discovered/created.

Try this,
Reboot into recovery goto Advanced then select Clear Dalvik Cache
If that still didn't do it, then you must reflash you Prerooted ICS,
Edit:
Do you still have some sort of file changed?,
if thats the case then i want to know which app contains the error you could try to reinstall the system app by changing its permissions etc,
with Romtoolbox for example. i will make backup try to upload the file you replace it wil the old one reinstall and then there should be a problem no more,
Also make shure you don't have any files left on you tablet wich contains changes,

In recovery mode I don't have "advanced" option.
Only 1. reboot, 2. update from zip and 3. factory reset.
edit: SOLVED
In Setting / applications / All
I clear data for program "Media Storage" and the error message stopped!

Doesn't come out of sleep
Several times a week, the tablet won't come out of sleep. Pressing the power button does nothing and I have to resort to using the reset button on the right side of the tablet. This started happening after ICS update.
Anybody else have this problem? Solutions?
yea i had that problem with HC, but maybe like 3 times since ive bought device. All i did was plug into pc and it turned on....has not happened in ics update, but it probably will.
Hey,
Just one question
Can we flash ICS by placing the zip in pendrive and connecting it to our Tablet?
Will the AIO tool find the zip?
Thanks
Nope, maby it can be possible but the recovery is not made to search in
external devices, only External SDCard inserted in the normal way,
Because if so you could simply search your PC within recovery
I know it can be used for a bootable image for PC but this won't work on Android (For now)
Who knows if some dev will change Recovery, and make it so, that he can find other devices as well.
I am new to all this. I successfully rooted the tablet without using AiO tool. But i have no idea where to proceed next. Can you dirext me to the appropriate forum/topic/post that can help me move forward.

Hello all,
Since ICS update, battery behaviour is very weird, it is dischargind very quickly, also when standby. It last one day and a hal whereas before it lasted at least 4 or 5 days... Am I the only one concerned by that problem ? Do you think it could be caused by something else than ICS update ?
Thank you all in advance...

Its most likely that you have some sort of app installed that drains your battery,
Do you use a Task killer?, that kills automatic?
Because this can cause battery drain aswell, since android has his own way of killing his apps there is no need to kill apps by an 3th-party appkiller.
You can check in your app settings, within running apps, which apps currently are
running, like a music player of movie player.
Also Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Auto Sync and GPS can use allot of energie.
i'm not shure how long my tablet runs if its in standby, but it is longer then yours.
No task killer running, I do that manually...
But I've uninstalled chrome beta and since last charge, 14 hours ago, tablet has lost 11%...
Kind of bizarre...

If anyone would like to know, I've managed to root the phone using following "n00b" steps:
1. Step
- download, install and run SuperOneClick v2.3.3.
- make sure you have USB debugging mode on
- plug in USB cable and click root.
- the program will ask you to install drivers.
- install them even if they are not signatured by Microsoft.
- after you installed all the drivers, restart computer
2. Step
- download and install this http://www.4shared.com/dir/RR8GM4vj/_online.html
- run runme.bat
- choose 1) Normal
- follow the instructions
- make sure you hit restore button on your device when prompted
- phone will reboot twice, don't worry
Enjoy your rooted device!!!
Credits to bin4ry for creating the method.

Just a quick update
I'll put my ClockWork Mod builds for PAP4300 and PAP4040 to my server. Can't post any links here yet, so be sure to check the link from t830mc's previous post.
For now, only 2 quick builds made using kitchen plugin for mt6575 are available.
This is all pre-alpha, not mounting anything properly, so it's pretty much useless for end users.
However, adb works fine for me (tested only on PAP4040), so I can mount and do what's needed.
I'm testing things for model 4040 myself, but can't test for model 4300 because I don't have that device, so be sure to let us all know if it works or not.
1.0.09 update
could someone upload update 1.0.09 ? i currently have version 1.0.08 and OTA offers me 1.0.10, but it tells that update.zip is invalid when i try to update, so i guess i need to update 1.0.09 first

Another problem:
How to install "Google Play services" com.google.android.gms (for example, needed to log on to YouTube or the functioning of the app My Tracks)?
Installation of "services" always ends up error message:
Incompatible with other applications that use the same shared Memberlist ID.
(The procedure described here did not help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219029)
Thank you.
hmm I did not notice this issue before you get this issue when you will get latest update from play store . Now when i have a custom version of a rom and i have instaled youtube in /system/app, and i just removed update,
this is orginal youtube apk or not but it works fine
just clear data and uninstall current youtube.apk and install this one or push it to to system and DONT UPDATE IT
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11070101/com.google.android.youtube-2.apk
also you may try older ver of my tracks and try if it works, Prestigio must do a fast update of this error but i think they are to busy with mk6577 and mk6575 will be left alone
Thank you, Youtube now works.
Still, I can not install "Google Play services" (com.google.android.gms) that are needed to run "My Tracks" (com.google.android.maps.mytracks).
Installation of "services" always ends up error message: Incompatible with other applications that use the same shared Memberlist ID.

Thank you.
Can anybody test SDXC 64GB card on this phone?
Can anybody test SDXC 64GB card on this phone?
Prestigio claims that this phone suports SDHC and SDXC standards up to 32 GB.
But SDHC standard is up to 32GB and SDXC starts from 32GB up to 2 TB.
So my question is maybe they did not have 64 GB SDXC card to test
I have the very first Nook Tablet 16GB and bought it the day it came out. I've rooted other Android devices NO PROBLEM including my Samsung Galaxy Note II. I had sideloaded apps onto my Nook Tablet for a long time and finally decided I want to completely get rid of B&N software and go complete Android 4.2.2 on it but for the past 24 hours I've been tearing out what's left of my hair.
I was stuck in a boot loop so I restored to the original stock ROM. Then I couldn't figure out how to get CMW on it. Without giving you each and every headache, I ended up following this guide to root the stock I had just flashed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31271965&postcount=240
I somehow MANAGED to get CM10.1 installed, so I see the Cyano boot when I turn the device on, but now I'm stuck on the Cyanogenmod spinning logo animation. For a SPLIT second I can see the Android interface with the lock icon but it instantly disappears and goes back to the spinning logo.
Hi.
Why can't I do anything with this piece of ****? And why can't I find a SINGLE good, working tutorial on XDA forums? You would think that TWENTY FOUR HOURS of effort would get me somewhere but I'm constantly stuck. What the HELL is with this piece of **** device?
I just want CM10.1 on the EMMC. It really shouldn't be this frustrating. There isn't even a video tutorial on installing CM10.1 because I bet so many people are blowing up their devices. I tried using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2221006 but of course fastboot doesn't work at all despite using the Android SDK to compile my own versions of CSipSimple JUST FINE.
Where are the real instructions on how to get this working the way I want it to be working?
NOT B&N ROM, NOT TWRP: Just CWM and CM10.1.
Wow, imagine how different we think! I think Nook Tablet is incredibly easy to root and install ROMS on. None of my phones have been anywhere near this easy to deal with!
Severeal tutorials around! I made one some months ago. It can be done easier than what I wrote back then, but here it is anyway
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2081981
(should work for CM10.1 as well as CM10. Personally I still prefer CM10 dated 1231 from here http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/03/cm10-0-jelly-bean-for-nook-tablet-uploading/ but that's me...)
An even easier way to do it (not the most elegant, but hey.... I like easy!) As of a couple of weeks ago I don't have a Tablet any more, so I can't check out exactly how things look, but here's an outline:
1. Download and burn the image that makes a bootable CM10 sd-card. http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/ Even if you don't intend to run CM10 from sd you can use this as a bootable CWM card.
2. Boot into that card holding "n" to get to boot menu in Cyanoboot
3. Choose "sd recovery". You should now be in CWM 6.x.x
4. Wipe Dalvik and cache
5. Flash (Install zip - choose zip) the ROM and appropriate gApps (make sure you really have the correct gApps for the ROM! They are not all the same!). You should be able to put the ROM and gApps on a different sd-crad than the one you wrote the previous img to and switch to that for the flashing.
Member Digixmax has meade several step by step instructions as well if you don't like the look of mine. Just to name one.
Well, I WAS able to flash it using this method: http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2013...-2-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet-0416/
But of course, it's so goddamned dumb that it installed it on my SD card regardless of me wanting to install it internally. Using Cyanoboot, I can only get into CM10.1 if I use "Boot SD Card Normal" if I boot from EMMC, it just shows the CM logo spinning forever.
Why would ANYONE want to not flash permanently? Why is it that every other ROM released on XDA implies a permanent ROM flash and never a dual boot off SD card? Why is Nook different?
I need someone to make a 2013 permanent CM10.1 video tutorial because SO many people obviously have problems with this thing and the best way to get rid of all the problems and questions is by posting a competent and thorough video tutorial. Text isn't working. I followed the text and I followed the instructions: "Download Image: ** Flash this if you want your downloaded app data to be stored in EMMC (sdcard0). "
I don't JUST want my downloaded app data to be stored--I WANT MY FULL 32GB SD CARD TO NOT HAVE TO BE IN MY NOOK TABLET WHEN I TURN IT ON FOR IT TO WORK. Why is that so difficult? Why am I able to flash my Note II so easily compared to this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228881
I'll tell you why: GIVING PEOPLE OPTIONS. Stop giving us the option to dual or even quad boot and just tell us to shut the **** up and give us ONE method: INTERNAL, PERMANENT INSTALLS.

Well, many prefer to not mess with internals. For those that do I have given instructions. In other topics there are extremely detailed instructions given by others if you prefer those. Sorry if it isn't good enough for you, but it's all I can do. It really is very easy, but of course you have to make an effort yourself.
Well, I WAS able to flash it using this method: http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2013...-2-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet-0416/

And for what it's worth, the link you said you followed clearly states it's for running from sd-card, not for internal install. It's not "dumb", it does what it's supposed to do even though you are trying to make it do something else. Many, many people wants this. You don't, so it's not for you and you shouldn't have followed it. If you want internal install, don't follow an sd-install instruction!
Cool it a couple of notches and I'm sure you can get it all sorted. Including making the change to get app data saved internally once the ROM is installed.

Hi. Thanks for the response. I made a video just now in response to you:
I'm considering making another one right now since a new CM10.1 nightly just came out: http://get.cm/?device=acclaim
I want to show you that it won't even work installing the new nightly through CWM. It shouldn't be this difficult. Typically, when you root one your devices, that means you have the power to do whatever you want with it, but as I just proved in my video, that isn't the case with the Nook Tablet.
Okay. I got it working using the method in this video:
NOBODY else mentioned using FACTORY WIPE. That's what seemed to fix it because Wipe Cache/Dalvik cache wasn't doing crap.
Now my only problem is how to repartition the memory because it's giving me two internal storage listings: 5.50GB and 7.45GB. And of course when I pop in my SD card, it's actually working the way I want it to and giving me the full 28GB. I find it strange that the SD card is listed as "Internal memory" in Solid Explorer, though.
I don't make videos. I rarely watch videos. I certainly don't go looking for them if there aren't proper links.
So I have no idea where you have gone wrong since some of what you write makes very little sense.,
I have tried to give you easy to follow instructions. I still think you should stick to the very stable CM10 I suggested instead of the nightlies that you apparently are not getting to work but that really shouldn't make much difference. I link to it in my reply with the instructions.
Nothing more I can do but maybe someone more patient will come along and give you what you want.

I'd love to link my videos but this ****ty website prevents "new" users from posting links. VoIP is better than text anyway. Skype, Mumble, Teamspeak, Ventrilo, Tinychat, and Jitsi are ALL better than limited forum communication. I made the video showing you how screwed up it is and if you're not going to watch it and see the evidence for yourself, then you might as well say evolution is false or that the earth is flat. You said it was easy but I showed you in video that it isn't and what a shocker, you don't want to see it.
OK, I did watch the first few minutes of your first video while waiting for the vet... WHY DO YOU BOOT FROM SD????? You install in internally and then you boot from sd... Makes no sense! Once it's installed, just take the sd card out and boot from internals. Or choose internal boot from Cyanoboot.

Because THIS is what happened when I booted it internally:
But like I said, I got it working via another method. It's internal now, but the only problem is my internal storage is out of whack. I have 2x internal storage listings and then my normal SD card:

That's normal. Internal is three partitions: Around 3 GB for the OS (doesn't show up in "storage"), around 5GB for apps and then the 8GB that you can keep whatever you want in.

Okay, thanks. I just wish it wasn't such a huge pain in the ass to get to this point. CM10.1's interface is so much better than that B&N garbage. ezPDF and Mantano are really the only reasons I use my Nook Tablet. Adios I'm a ghost.
Any informacion on this phone? Is it good/bad at its price? Root? ROMS?

I have the l65 d280, it's pretty good for the price, however I can't seem to find ANY rom for this phone, so it kind of sucks being stuck with all the crapware my network carrier loaded into my phone, I'm not happy with that.
So for the time being, it lacks customization, however this could change in the following months, if and when this happens then yeah, I'll say it' a pretty solid phone.

Hi there!
I can't move from the step six because the console gives me an error saying that can't reach the file or directory.
My computer recognize my lg l65 as an lg e460.
Could that be the reason of the problem?
I already installed all lg l65 drivers including ADB.
What could i do to my pc recognets my smartphone as an lg l65?
Thank you very much people!
Hi,
I tried to setup this with the sdcard as/data partition, but somehow the system is really slow at many points and network transfers also only use a ~5kB/s.
Is it possible that the problem is really only a slow SD, or could that be the rom itself what's slowing it down that bad?

Try with /mnt/shell/emulated/0 instead of /sdcard.
So commands of point 6 become
Code:
dd if=/mnt/shell/emulated/0/aboot.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot
dd if=/mnt/shell/emulated/0/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery

Hi, I've rooted and moved all the apps on sdcard as well, and it was very slow due to the memory speed. Then I've bought a sdcard class 10 and now it's pretty fast, quite like the internal memory...

I have an old ZTE n817 (AKA Obamaphone) running android 4.4.4, with less than 2 gig internal storage, and a 14 gig SD card. I rooted this phone years ago; I distinctly remember using busybox and some other tools on it in the process. But I just reset it to factory specs because I want to make it an educational tool for my toddler grandson, and I wanted to make sure all the, ahem, age inappropriate content was gone forever, cause I seriously don't want to explain to the little ankle biter's parents why I left that stuff for him to find. I hadn’t used it since we got a sweet deal and switched to using iPhones, so my android skills are atrophied, but I’m comfortable with taking a crack at rooting it again. Unfortunately, I failed to document my previous work, so I have no idea how to reproduce the sterling results of my original efforts. The whole point of this is to enable moving apps to the SD card, so my grandson can have more than a couple of apps/games to use. Plus the phone is already slowed down due to available internal storage being 325 megs.
I've googled the pants off this topic, seems like all the root methods for this phone assume you have already used Kingroot, which I understand is not advisable. As I did this before without Kingroot or another one click product, I’m hoping to find a tutorial on how to do that. However, since the internet is only eternal for people who have embarrassing personal information posted, I have resigned myself to rooting the phone however I can. Towards that end, I am looking at this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/howto-zte-quest-n817-locked-bootloader-t3587174
Unfortunately, the above method is beyond my ability to implement, and does not even make sense to me. For instance, the “The twrp app will not work until you have supersu installed” indicates I have to root the phone before I can root the phone? Plus the whole description is assuming more knowledge than I possess. Just yesterday I got desperate and tried framaroot, but it didn’t even make it to the exploit drop down list, and the Aragorn exploit wasn’t doing it. I’ve seen a couple of hints that iroot works on this phone, but the one click methods sound like they ultimately do more harm than good. And so far, all the tutorials I have seen for rooting a phone assume the reader already knows how to root a phone.
What I’m hoping for is a link to a method of rooting this thing, without expecting the reader knows Command Line Linux and Klingon. Or to an app that will allow me to move apps to the SD card without rooting (or Klingon). Or to a one click rooting product that won’t end up being a problem. I’ll even be happy to find a tutorial that covers all the bases of the rooting process, with complete descriptions of the tools like twrp and rashr and supersu.
Your best bet may be DirtyCOW (Dirty Copy on Write) root. If the device has a kernel version 2.6.x.x up to 3.8.x or 3.9.x you may be able to use this tool. It allows you to replace a process of a file which size is greater or equal to the size of the modded one. This also allows you to write to read-only memory (but if not in read-write mode after that it won't save your modification) filesystems. This may be a tool that works and you can install SuperSU binaries afterwords and have full root access
If that don't work just use KingRoot and use the app SuperSU me app to switch to SuperSU

Take note that only apps can get moved if the app itself supports APP2SD.
BTW: You don't have to root phone's Android permanently by so-called One-Click-Rooting tools, a temporary root most times is sufficient, IMHO.

In the meantime, my daughter in law found an old HTC Desire 526 Verizon Prepaid laying around. So I did a factory reset, pulled the sim out, moved the SD card from the ZTE to it, and installed the apps I wanted my grandson to have. Still has 1 gig of internal memory left, so hopefully that will last him a while. I may end up having to try rooting it, as 1 gig will get used up quick, and unrooted it's not letting me move apps to SD, or get rid of the bloatware. But finding a factory ROM for it may be a problem, HTC won't provide one, and I doubt verizon's going to either.
One person mentioned using Kingroot and then use the SuperSU e to switch to SuperSU, maybe I'll try that later.

I keep seeing warnings about using KingRoot, but I've also seen numerous threads on these forums where the posted rooting method assumes Kingroot has already been used. Is it really as simple as "root with Kingroot, install and run SuperSu Me APK, and you're rooted and good to go"?
I also have moved the SD card from the poor, anemic ZTE to a poor but slightly less anemic HTC Desire 526 Verizon Prepaid (android 5) we found lying about. After doing a factory reset, pulling the sim, and installing the apps I want my grandson to use, there's about 1 gig internal memory left. Eventually I'll try to get him a decent android tablet, like the Amazon Fire 7 (with the most rugged case I can find), but I want him to cut his 2 and a half year old teeth on the HTC. He's using his mom's android phone now, under her supervision, and he's taken to it like a duck to water. At first I thought letting a kid that young use a smart phone was sketchy, but he's really surprised me. The HTC will let her much newer android phone survive a lot longer, and keep him from trying to answer her calls. But that 1 gig of free storage on the HTC won't last long, and it's not letting me move any apps to the SD card, so if Kingroot and SuperSu can safely give me root, I'll try it out. I can always do another factory reset, right?

Try Dr Fone Root, it will root your device with SuperSU.
Just don't disconnect your device while it is being rooted. A factory reset might not fix it and you will end up flashing the firmware.
