I'm having an issue with my GF and the infinite bootloop as well. Could you walk me through flashing the Fit with Odin? I'm familiar with Odin; I used to root all my phones. I'm unsure of how to flash the Fit, however. I'd really love for my Fit to be working again! Any help is appreciated.

As for the PIN, you could try 0000, that's generally the "default" that most manufacturers use.

I can only speak for the process in the UK but the firmware I did used KIES 3 which included a full Samsung drivers install. KIES 3 can only do a firmware update to the Gear Fit so it should be a simple case of starting KIES and connecting the Gear Fit, then following the on screen instructions.
The PIN is generated by your phone and simply needs to be accepted by pressing the orange tick on the Gear Fit and OK on the phone provided it shows the same PIN. You'll need to make the Gear Fit visible in the settings/Bluetooth Gear Fit screen and the phone is Bluetooth visible.. Plus ensure you tick any options to remember your gear fit on your phone.
I found my Gear Fit manager app worked best if I connected the Gear Fit to the phone first, before connecting it via Gear Fit manager.

[Q] Gear Fit constantly disconnecting/reconnecting from AT&T S4

I have a stock AT&T S4. It is running 4.4.2. I picked up the Gear Fit yesterday and it took an entire day to get the Gear Fit manager to finally recognize the device. Bluetooth picked up the device no problem and the pair was successful, but the Fit Manager would not proceed. I was running the latest version (from 4/25/14).
After about 100 attempts (literally), it finally recognized the device and updated the firmware. That seemed to help and I was able to perform the initial configuration. Now the device constantly disconnects. I can only get it to stay connected for about 5 minutes. This is after multiple device and Fit reboots.
As of this morning, I have tried about 20 times and it hasn't connected once. This is VERY frustrating. Samsung really needs to get their act together here. I was super excited when this came out, but if things don't improve I will be forced to return it.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips to get this thing working?
I would advice you to try and connect it to other device and see if that helps, maybe there is something wrong with your S4 and not Fit.

I exchanged it at Best Buy and the new one has been working flawlessly (so far).
IT doesn't play well at all with other bluetooth devices trying to connect at the same time - this may be the problem. Everytime I get into my car, there is a tremendous battle between my handsfree and the gear fit, lol, each one keeps disconnecting and reconnecting, fighting for supremacy!

I have the same. If I start the car with Gear Fit off, let the bluetooth car kit connect and then connect Gear fit, everything is fine. But if I try to connect car kit with Gear Fit connected, car kit is simply go into infinite loop connecting/disconnecting. I am pretty sure it was working at least once without issue in the past, so it might be related to update of Gear fit management application. Hopefully Samsung will fix it.
I bought a Gear Fit from Best Buy as well, and it did the same: connected with bluetooth no problem, but would not connect in the gear fit manager. I messed with it for about 2 hours and finally gave up and returned it back to Best Buy.
S4 stock rooted 4.4.2

[Q] Galaxy S6 (edge) not working with Gear Fit!

Please excuse my double posting (been answer in another tread as well.)
Yes, XS6 edge just came out, so there will not be too many people suffering the same yet, but here my story, asking for help. Anybody else?
Brand new Galaxy S6 edge and Gear Fit - "Bluetooth Disconnected"
Dear gentlemen, thank you very much for the work and effort, but I still could not get that thing working...
This is an expat lady in Japan who bought a Gear Fit for running.
I never had a smart phone so far and thought "it is about time", so I went to an AU-shop close by and the staff told me "Sorry, Galaxy S5 is sold out, but S6 will come out soon and will for sure work with the Gear Fit." I waited and got S6 edge. In the meantime I ordered the Gear Fit from Amazon already.
But now nothing works. The phone and the watch do match as far as you have to verify that code, but after clicking O.K. all it says is "Bluetooth Disconnected" - and that was it. I cannot use the watch (it speaks Chinese by the way, I do not...) at all. I downloaded the Gear Fit Manager from the Samsung Homepage Japan on Saturday and that is the version I tried to use so far.
I read through forums and downloaded that Odin - but I am too stupid for that. It said 0 success, 0 failure, I tried again and it became 1 failure. I do not get what Lollipop or how to use that either and wonder if all that at all is for me, since my phone is just too new? Or is the watches' software too old?
Even getting it into the download mode, the rest did not work. How to update the firmware in the watch (and do I have to?)
I tried to download the latest manager from the links here, but the phone blocks it or tells me "sorry, does not work".
So last Saturday I got my first ever Smart Phone, the newest and greatest stuff on the planet people want to tell me.... I am not at all a programmer and most I am reading here I do not understand. So please tell me something idiot-proved please.
All I wanted was the watch in first place, since I am not willing to run with a 100.000 yen phone I might drop and damage...
What to do now?
Thank you very much,
hopphase
I have Galaxy S5 and my Gear Fit Manager is v1.117.0306 and Gear Fit firmware ends letter OA2. I haven't play with ODIN. Both have come automatically to my devices with update process.
Easy way: try to boot both phone and then Gear Fit.
Open your S6 notifications panel, hold a while Bluetooth button and tap where read someting like: "make phone visible to other Bluetooth devices".
Now boot your Gear Fit and watch what your screen tell you. When you need to type secret codes, you are close to goal.
The language what you have on your Gear Fit comes directly from your phone (Galaxy S6). If you use swedish on your phone, the Gear Fit is in swedish, your phone english, Gear Fit english etc.
The problem was Chinese
Thank you very much.
@ All.
Good news first - Galaxy S6 edge does pair with Gear Fit without a problem - if the models like each other (same country / zone at least)
I went to a Galaxy-shop in Tokyo and the staff tried for over an hour.
We found out that mine is a CHINESE model (not made in China, but made FOR China) - and their Bluetooth is not working with ours here in Japan. They tried to replace the software and everything, but it seemed to be "locked" they said.
I thought "what the heck, ain't we global?" Well, not yet.
So I will send the Gear Fit back (I did buy it from an Amazone-store in Tokyo btw.) and buy a Japanese model at the very store I went to yesterday.

That website is fake. You can't unlock the bootloader. You should considering trading your gear s for a tmobile one or just buy one on ebay.
Unlocked bootloader will never happen for a device like this. Trade it in or just buy a tmobile one if u can find one.

To answer that question; "Yes." I'm not sure why One would make a comment, without knowledge of the process. Pay no mind to them. What you need to do is follow the thread I provide, and work your way from there. Good luck.:fingers-crossed:

Also, take the bands off off your GearS2 G3/4 models such as my SM-R730A and One will see a tab that can be removed... This is a magnetic USB port. One can adhere or solder a USB, or use the old Gear 2 charger and tape it tight. This will allow for wired transfer. Also if you do your research, there is a port # associated with the Gear S2 to use whilst connected to a PC by BT. (Bluetooth)
I have added ringtones, notifications, changes to system UI, added my own .wgt (widget) files and the like. All I need to do is figure out how to get Google to work through ifttt, or ported standalone widget.

Gear Fit 2 on Custom Rom

Hi all,
Sorry if this has already been covered, but all the info I can find is for the original Gear Fit.
Has anybody been able to get the Gear Fit 2 working with a custom rom on a Samsung Device? I'm trying to run LineageOS 14 on my GS5 but have had no success getting Open Fit or any of the Samsung Gear Manager APKs to talk to the gear. Bluetooth connection works fine, but can't get past that. I managed to get Gear Manager installed, but get a message "The operating system on your phone has been modified..." and I can't get past that screen.
Anybody had luck on the GF2 on custom roms?
Gear Fit2 works on ALL android phone with the PlayStore Gear Manager version
Ok it seems to work with some editing of the /system/build.prop file, then re-downloading the Samsung Gear app from the playstore. Works for CM14. See this thread:

Hello,
I've been trying for days to connect a Gear Fit 2 to a Galaxy S 3 Mini.
I have tried on the S3 Mini both a 5.1.1 as well as a 6.0.1 of CM.
The build.prop I have modified and all "samsung" replaced by "htc".
Various Samsung Gear Apps I've tried (including Gear Plugin).
The app can not find the Gear Fit 2, pairing works
With an iPhone it works, as well with the S 7 Edge of my wife.
Any ideas ?
Many Thanks
Thomas

LOL. Of all brands, iPhones! Clearly you haven't heard about Louis Rossman's vendetta against Apple, hehe. While Samsung sucks regarding this issue in particular, it's still leagues above Apple. Though give it time and I'm sure it'll get worse. I really think we can't appreciate enough how valuable it is that Android is open source.
