I have a question/idea I wanted to run by you guys real quick.. I just picked up a AT&T N9005 Galaxy Note 3 this week and I love it so far.. I have it rooted & im currently running the Alliance Rom.. I love the phone and the rom but this factory Note 3 speaker is a single pos in a bad location in my honest opinion.. I prefer the HTC beats/boomsound setup.. Now my question/idea is why doesn't Anyone make a simple slipon case like my UAG case that has speakers integrated in to it along the top & bottom kinda like the HTC factory setup but perhaps even better more powerful.. Just have Bluetooth technology & a built-in power source.. It would be a simple slip-on external speaker setup that doubles as a protective case.. Is there anything out there like this being made for any cell phones or do I actually have an original idea? If so is it a good idea or am I crazy? Any thoughts, suggestions, or input on the subject would be appreciated.. Thanks.. Joseph Mark Hodges..
Look at eclipse cases they have a case for the s4 that redirects the sound and amplifies it. Good concept but its bad on cell signal and expensive.
---------- Post added at 04:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:31 PM ----------
In the mean time try viper 4 android they have a setting for external speaker that boosts volume and enhances the sound.
Because magnets are needed to operate the S Pen therefore affecting it useability

Hey guys,
So here's the deal, I bought the Galaxy Nexus thinking I'd love it, and I do love ICS, but the phone just stinks for multiple reasons. First off, the audio quality is terrible from the speaker. Secondly, the battery life has to be the worst on a phone that I've ever seen. Seriously, its bad. Another thing is the screen quality. Though it is gorgeous, it seems to get washed out on lower brightness settings. Its just annoying. Ive read about the Rezound and what not, but I wanted to hear what you guys liked the most about it and what you didn't like before going and exchanging. I really appreciate your help guys, thanks!!!

There's nothing not to like about this phone. Gorgeous screen, great build quality, great signal, good sound, decent battery life for a 4g phone, looks good (even if the buttons are a little pinkish). People have had some issues with the phone as far as audio interference, overheating, and really pink buttons, but those seem to be fairly isolated. I love this phone and everything about it. It doesn't even need root to be amazing, though it would be more fun that way.
The screen, although SLCD and not SAMOLED is really beautiful. It won't "POP" at you the way SAMOLED does but the natural colors of the SLCD screen are enhanced by the high resolution. Also, it's snappy, very snappy. Even though Sense is a resource hog, it still feels fast. (It doesn't come with HTC hub or likes though like some other HTC phones do. That may be a plus or minus depending on whether you like those apps. I do..but I digress). The beats audio although gimmicky is nice and does enhance certain types of music. Gaming is great. Need for Speed Shift plays beautifully without a hiccup. I hope I helped you in your decision.

great phone all around, just needs root to be perfect. Hardware is great. Battery life is good for a 4g phone, maybe a little better than the nexus. I bought the extended battery so I could make it through my workshift (12 hours), plus commute without having to charge.

Love: The SCREEN! True RGB Super LCD..may not be as "colorful" as SAMOLED but more realistic colors, and not as many jaggies as PenTiles.
The free headphones...even without iBeats enabled. You can even sell them for about $70 if you don't use them.
24+ hours battery life with the huge 2750 extended battery..so it's a little fatter, with a holster and case on you won't notice.
The speaker volume is genuinely loud...can almost annoy some people. Angry Birds and Need For Speed really sound tweeting loud .
GPS Lock...you can watch the probability circle shrink to a dot in 5 seconds.
AM NOT HAPPY WITH - No ICS yet..let's go HTC make this phone scream with Ice Cream!!!
no NFC chip *but then they will make batteries with that included and who can really use that yet anyway?*
To me, those pros far outweigh the cons...and getting ICS and maybe a NFC-enabled battery would make this even more of a world-class phone to beat. Until of course quad-core and Tegra 3 ships lol.

Hello maybe someone know about samsung original earphones which is added at galaxy s3 package, specifications? how much db it has and etc? because going to buy denon c260 earphones and would like to know if there is any difference between samsung vs denon earphones
Unrelated... but why do these things always fall out of my ears? Am I doing it wrong? I put the biggest silicone things on but still when I walk or eat they fall out. It's really annoying, is there a technique?

You're doing it wrong, don't put the biggest muffs. Put the one that is fit to you that way it will stick perfectly to your ear and will not fall
Yeah I had to change to the medium ones and also the stock S3 headphones are good but the Denons are better I should know i have a pair
Anyone know some good add-on for the LTE? since this phone have a very superb camera quality is there like like an attachment to give you better zoom capabilities? you know never know when you spot a UFO high in the sky and you need some close up shot than a tiny dot on you screen. i seen one forgot which brand it was its a telescope for the phone but i heard it doesnt fit that well.
Post up any other cool accessories for LTE.:crying:
The Q and A is really more for troubleshooting lol
You might have better luck posting this in the accessories section. To answer your question though, I've only seen cases, screen protectors, and car docks.
"We're coming from a pure power source"
Oh...LOL can a mod move this to appropriate place?
This is my first post and it seem im confuse.
hi, i just got the EVOLTE few days ago,
i have some question about it and i hope that all the pros here will be able some of it.
thx.
i'm quite a newbie in android
have been using iPhone and Blackberry in the past few years.
and i still use my Blackberry 9900 for my business line.
im starting to use android for my personal line few months back, after i purchased the motorola photon 4G
i've been quite impressed by it
however the battery life is quite bad so i ended up getting the extended battery from seidio and with that extended battery the phone only last me for 1 day of use.
anyway i love the photon but the screen and camera quality is very bad INMHO.
so i get this new HTC EVOLTE ( i don't like S3's design)
after fewdays of usage, all i can say is that it's been quite ok:
-the screen is superb , almost on par as my iphone 4s , of course the evolte win on the size but the 4s win on the clarity by a bit so no complain about it , i love the screen.
-the radio quality is good, i compared it with my photon, which have one of the best radios ever built on a phone and the result is quite similar. but of course the photon have the global capabillities
-fit and finish is very good the material feel sturdy unlike s3 but the top black cover , the battery cover scratches very easilly.
now this is my questions or minuses:
-the speaker on this phone is very weak, it sounded very thin and weak . i've tried to use it for listening to radio, watchingmovies, calling people with the speaker phone and i can say this is the tinniest speaker that i've ever have.
(is there any solution to this ? i believe or hope that it can be "modified" with an software update as the speaker quality is actually not that bad, only the volume that its lacking)
-theres a gap between the back bottom case and the metal frame. on the left side near the mic hole, is that normal ? the gapp is arround 1mm it doesnt effect anything but i'm ocd about this kind of thing and the right hand side is ok, only the left near the mic hole that have this problem.
-the camera, its much better than the 8MP shooter from photon, but still it can't touch the iphone 4s IMHO.
the sharpness is lacking , i've tied it side by side and the iphone 4's images always look better and sharper.
(i've noticed that there's a lot of camera mod for the EVOLTE but can anyone point me out to the best one ?)
-the battery is better than the stock motorola photon, but still it doesn't last me for a day of constant use
i've always turn on auto sync, auto backlight , and i use whats app chatting application, occasionally watchind video with MX player and it last me about 6-8 hours top
is there any setting to prolonged the battery life ? or is there any better ROM that i can flash ? i dont want the beta or alpha , i just want the almost bug free ROM that i can rely on everyday. and i very much like the rom that have SENSE as i really like Sense and this is one of the reason i bpught the EVOLTE rather than the S3, in the past i've tried every launceher , app, widget to replicate the look and feel of sense on my motorola photon, but nothing beats the original sense on HTC phone IMHO.
please give me some info on this
-the top of the phone , i mean the rear plastic cover that surround the camera get hot whnenever the phone transmit or recieve data.
it doesnt get hot when i call somebody, but when i browse or chatting, it gets hot.
(again is this normal ? is there any solution about this ? maybe putting some thing of layer or sticker beneath the plastic cover ?
-one of the reason i bought this EVOLTE is about the beats audio.
but whenever i plugged my earphone to listened to music, theres a static like noise .
ive tried several ear and headphones and they all do the same. the noise appear only when the phone is transmitting or recieving data only.
so far the solution for me is to turn the airplanne mode on when i listened to music
(is it normal ? is there any solution to it ?)
-please add if theres a must have app or mod for this phone
as i 'm really new to android
so far thats about it,
pardon me for my bad english.
this is the best android forum ever.
The phone will get warm, HTC phones get warm and some get pretty hot, probably has something to do with their design and the fact that they all have metal chassis. The battery should settle after a bit of use I let mine drop to around 5-6% the first couple of charges and it started to last a bit longer. The phone is a bit picky with headphones, I have a cheap pair for jogging and a higher quality pair and the cheaper ones definitely have distortion in them. If you charge and use the headphone jack at the same time, there's a lot more distortion. HTC turned the compression up pretty high on the camera but there's a mod floating around that removes the compression, its still really good for what it is. If you plan to unlock and flash the phone, check your hboot first, hboot 1.15 and 1.19 require you to flash the kernel separately (fastboot) but hboot 1.12 allows you to flash normally, it is also the only hboot that has an exploit allowing soff. I've written a lengthy guide that covers the majority of what you need to know to start customizing your phone. It really is a great phone
Moved to a and a
Anyone?

Go to the Android development section for Evo 4 G L T E and lookup Mean ROM read the entire first post and flash this you won't believe how great your phone will perform, the camera, sound and the battery are greatly improved. Look for version 4.1 .1 in the nightly section at the bottom of the first post or 4.2 if it's been released by then. Be sure to read that entire first post though as it has all of the important information you will need how to flash this ROM.
You can't modify the glossy back cover or it's attachment inside as it houses all of the antennas.
The heat is normal as its the battery discharging due to the large screen.
Jack
P.S. Don't second guess your decision to buy this phone. It is the best phone on the market in my opinion. It just needs MeanRom to be complete.

+1 on this. I've been running MeanROM since I had my 3VO and in IMHO it's the best ROM out there. That said, there are also a bunch of other talented devs here that have put their time and talent into making this phone enjoyable as hell for everyone.
You will not regret getting this phone.

Okay thx
I'm still deciding between mean Rom or viper 4g Romwhich one is more stable?
And by the way the heat is not from the battery but more from the area above it. The shiny plastic part not the metal part.

I use easy battery saver which I believe helps. I get a 10% drop in battery with heavy use but average 14 to 16 hours a day. Not as good as some report, but heavy use is relative. My phone has no gaps. As far as static, I was having a lot of that when streaming, but figured out my wifi was overloaded. I've remedied that and no longer have static. Do you have static when streaming with 3G? That would be an indicator. Hope this helps some. Good luck with your new phone.

Can anyone suggest where to find good batteries?
I'm getting a used Note Pro and I don't know if the battery performance will still be decent. I'm buying a 30000mAh power bank along with it but I would love to know where I can find good batteries in case I want to replace them myself. I can do the replacement (skills and tools present) but I need to find a good battery first

3rd party batteries are a hit and miss. They just don't have the quality control big companies have. It's pretty cheap so just give it a shot. Returns on Amazon are easy.

Using that one now...
Been using that particular one for about 6 months now without problems, but quality varies on these generic brands. If you are going to be replacing the battery, make sure you clean and treat the terminals with Deoxit Red, then coat with Deoxit Gold http://a.co/dRU123V - that stuff is pricey, but worth every penny you spend. You will never have connection issues again. I use that every time I put something back together.
Also look around the site for instructions on how to re-solder the battery connectors - some users have had issues like flickering brightness because of marginal connectors. Hardest part is getting the back off (and it isn't hard) - just take your time and you won't have any problems.

I can attest to the minimal level of difficulty in removing the back panel of the sm-p900.
Just slow and steady with something similar to a medium-hard + hard guitar pick (credit/gift card thickness vary...or some guitar picks lol) And as usual, there is always the $100 plastics kit....which I want no part of, but spend it if you got it.
I just wedged a guitar pick between the backing and the screen (feel/look for the seam, you'll find it) to get the opening started, then wedged a credit card in to keep it from snapping back shut, and moved steady around the perimeter (adding chopped old gift cards in parts to keep from snapping back together) until the front and back separated.
There may be a couple of connections that would need to be disconnected prior to pulling the back panel and face completely apart (I think, but again, it's been a while now so don't hold me to that), but either way, I'm sure you could pull the connection for the battery (the battery is in the middle, top side, near camera) without having to fully separate, but it's much easier when separated all the way (in my experience at least).
I've had to reconnect the battery before after the battery connection became a tad loose somehow, causing the battery itself to get very hot (and very dangerous I might add) Now that I think about it, didn't this happen with a very popular phone recently SAMSUNG?!? And part of the GALAXY line? Hmm. Odd.
