Lenovo p780 row (s124 140403) - 8 GB - Lenovo P780

I have this [Lenovo p780 8GB row S124 140403]. Actually I just wanted to uninstall some system apps. So I used this application Framaroot v1.7.0
But in process of uninstalling some system apps I accidentally uninstalled the default launcher (Lenovo Launcher)
Now it is stuck on the boot logo. I can only navigate to the recovery Mode and stuff using volume and power keys.
I also wiped cache Data & stuff. I tried to update zip.
Some are saying that it ain't recoverable but I know there has to be some solution. I don't know much about Flashing and stuff. Can someone just Temme what I need to do. I'll do rest of the research myself. But at least someone tell me what to do.

By my opinion you have 2 choices:
1. Did you tried factory reset from recovery? If you did and is not working you must reflash your ROM.
2. Flash a custom recovery with Flash Tool. Start your phone in it. Look on xda forum or internet for your launcher or unpack your system.img and collect your launcher from there. Creeate a zip flash file and flash it from custom recovery. For this thing you must have an sd card and a way to put zip file on it. Power of your phone insert sdcard, power on and start in recovery. Flash your file. Voila you have your phone back.
AND NEXT TIME USE SOME APPS TO DO BACKUP BEFORE YOU DO SOMETHING STUPID LIKE THIS.

Thanx for looking into this problem, I know it was stupid on my part and I'll keep your suggestion in mind for the next time.

[Q] problem with app, files ...

Hi guys,
i have some wierd problems.
- when I install or uninstall an application, it works but when i reboot my cell phone the applications installed are gone and the ones uninstalled are back.
- when i copy a file through webdav from my HD and when i reboot, the file is gone.
I don't have SD card everything is on the internal memory.
I already tried the "android recovery" with the power buton and the volume buton but nothing changed.
the ROM version, 2.3.4, on my cell phone is coming from motorola France.
can you help me ?
should i try to flash again my cell phone ?
Is it possible that the internal memory is locked ? if yes how can i unlock it ?
thanks for your help
Try SDMaid to clear remaining files of uninstalled apps. If this does not work, reflash your recovery, it might be corrupted, best recovery is the CWM, its pretty much compatible to most roms. There is also TeamWIN's recovery which is touch based recovery which is quite good to.

CWM is basically Clockword Recovery Mod by RomRacer, you should be able to install original ROM. Just download it from the Motorola Website the rom will have its own setup built-in so you can run the update directly through the computer and should be fine.

Some question about[ROM][2013.01.09] Lenovo A789,P700i,A660 custom ROM (ICS)

First of all thanks to for your post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1874403 . I am new user of android .I have learned a lots of things for your post. I have some question to if you don't mind.
1.I use Lenovo A789 mobile from china. I have updated location service by your "ics_mtk_locationfix_v1.4 " with TWRP recovery method.

When I try to backup by your recovery, the recovery shows a message "Backing up boot image...." for a long time and with without replacing the battery the message continue (http://www.mediafire.com/view/?iq6hl906eurqy8i). But after opening the mobile there is back up in sd card under clockworkmod folder named"boot img" . 4. In your post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1874403, you have told that "Both of them you will have to flash using the flash tool, using bgcngm's excellent manual, and the V3.1222 of the flash utilities and drivers, also in my Dev-Host. If you flashed my V2 ROM, you do not need to do this, as the recovery is already part of that."
What you mean by this? Can able to flash recovery with two deference recovery by A789_S22x_recovery_cybermaus and ]A789_S22x_recovery_apkhot at a time?
5. I have updated "Lenovo_ICS_clear_desktop","Lenovo_ICS_clear_c alen dar" & "Lenovo_ICS_clear_contacts" by recovery mode but i did found any change in my mobile (Lenovo A789) .Then why this need.

9. Last question do you have any boot image for Lenovo A789(A789.S228_120913 with out china booting image original lenovo boot image?
Best regards
Wait for your answer.
Some additional questions about[ROM] Lenovo A789,P700i,A660 custom ROM (ICS)
Hello,
I also use Lenovo A789 and I find cybermaus work excellent. The S107_cybermaus_ics_v3.21, which I installed, showed a significant improvement. Thanks a lot. But, I still have two disturbing problems with the phone:
1. The image freezes a few times a day the moment I'm hunging up a call by touching the red icon. The only way to solve it is to remove the battery;
2. The phone turns unresponsive when the alarm starts. I mean, I can hear the sound, but the screen is black. Again, I'm forced to remove the battery to stop it.
I'd be much obliged if someone could provide me with a solution for these problems.
Thank you!

[Q] Factory Reset on root HTC Explorer. Now reboot stuck at HTC logo

I am using HTC Explorer A310e. I rooted my cellphone yesterday. After rooting my cellphone, I had WhatsApp install and uninstalled couple of times, which led to some corruption as well. Thought of clearing the space by "Factory Reset" option with an intention of retrieving the built in apps.
But after I did this, runs a process of resetting and when it restart it stuck at the main screen where HTC comes out on the display. My cell phone is not running beyond this screen. Cellphone screen is still on and displaying the "htc" only. please help me what to do.. Reply as early as possible

Dude HTC Explorer is an awesome device.
Go to HTC Forum . Download any custom ROM . I'll suggest cm9 for now. Copy the ROM zip to the root of your SD card. Download Gapps and copy them too to the root of your SD card.
Reboot into Bootloader (hold volume down + power button).
Highlight Recovery and press power button to select it. Now your phone will boot in recovery mode.
Do a data/factory reset.
Install zip from sd card < then choose zip form SD card < then install rom zip < and then install gapps zip
Fianlly reboot..
Cheers you got your phone back working ..
Thank you omerjerk
Thanq.....
but would there be a direct link for the custom ROM?
I already tried
marvel_perfect_stock.zip
PG05IMG.zip from googled forum links
both of these installation aborted due to some error or issues.
I searched for custom ROM like cm9 as well.
I know the steps to boot into Bootloader and trying to install from a zip file, but the source ROM is not available.... Please help.
Try Gamersab rom. European stock based optimized Rom.

you can factory reset your phone if you have not rooted it... rooting instruction clearly mentions that if you factory reset your phone after rooting it may result that your phone won't boot... only solution after that is to flash a custom Rom... sorry if I am late...

If you can access your recovery and/or sd card through mounting. Your device isn't bricked. I would suggest you double check everything you downloaded and make sure it's all compatible with your device. If one simple .zip doesn't match your device you can get a bootloop or soft brick (non-fatal) which is what you seem to be experiencing. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for sharing!

[Q] Root and Custom Recovery for RCA Pro 10

Hey all
I am considering purchasing RCA Pro 10 tablet that runs Android 4.4. From the research I did on XDA for it I was able to find that it can be rooted using Kingo. But I couldn't find any mention of a custom recovery that can support it. As you know we need the custom recovery to flash ROMs and such. Anyone know of any custom recovery that will work with this tablet?
Thanks
it hasent been rooted yet the 4.4 one which is the one walmart had on black friday is differen t some how then the orginal the connectors are in different places and the modle number is different kingo does not work
I rooted mine but it was a jumbled mess of a process. First install SuperSU, then install and run iroot, afyer that using pdanet drivers plug it into your computer and use kango, open SuperSu and update your binary, finally use a root browser and remove the app iroot installed. Iroot installs the su binary but doesnt set anything up properly, kango will set everything up but cant install the files needed for some reason so you have to use them together. Its messy but it works.
I got 2of the new of the rca pro 10 edition with the 1.5 GHz quad core m/n rct6203w46 the easyist way to root it is plug it in your PC let it download the drivers download pdanet on your PC see if there's more drivers 4 it download Kingo root set tab to USB debuging open kingo root plug in tab to USB kingo root will find it click root it will go through a few steps it will ask if u have a special kernal choose other opt it will restart tab few times and it will say its rooted and install super su if not click root again then it should be rooted restart tab after it says rooted keep attached to PC it will say root status yes then should be 2 options remove root and root again hope this helps you guys who bought the new one on black Friday big plus it never deleted Aney apps app data pics music ect and you don't need SD chip for it ... as far as a custom kernal / recovery i have no idea sorry regarden that

Sargeue,
Using the link I supplied, I downloaded (using my PC) the TWRP image from the last link PaTF provided. I copied the TWRP image over to my tablet. Then using the link mexicandroid provided to the Rashr flash tool on Google Play, I installed it and followed the instructions in the app to flash the TWRP image to my tablet and voila!, I had a custom recovery.
I can also verify everything works in TWRP, such as backup and restore, wipe menu, etc. No custom ROMS available that I know of, so did not try to flash any ROM.
Of note: If you allow an update to the RCA firmware, you will need to re-flash TWRP as the firmware update overwrites the custom recovery.
Hope this helps.

Great, will try it out. Really don't need custom rom, just like having nandroid backup. Thanks for you help!
Perfect! Worked great, easiest recovery I installed to this date. Thanks for your help again Droidify.
Thanks to the thread maker. I knew a lot with this thread.
Thanks
Thanks to Patf for posting the files, Sargeue for asking Droidify to elaborate, and Droidify for elaborating I was able to do this with no problem. This wasn't my first time rooting, and I've flashed a cfw that already had a custom recovery on it which rooted a device( don't know if thats particularly considered rooting), but I think this was the first time I flashed a custom recovery. The TWRP recovery boots just fine how it should and everything works if the instructions are followed. Thanks a bunch guys. I had already got an update prior to this and I am not sure nor do I remember what it exactly was. Its the only update I've got since I had the tablet. I still attempted this, so it was risky, but never the less everything went fine.
Hi all! I somehow soft bricked my RCA tab after updating to an OTA. Anyone have a nandroid backup of the stock ROM? Thanks!
Same problem here. OTA update screwed it up looking for help.
RCA RCT6203W46 1.9.50 firmware upgrade failures
Below is the method I found to resolve the issue I had with the most recent firmware upgrade failing. Use at your own risk.
How to resolve RCA RCT6203W46 1.9.50 firmware upgrade failures (this should also unbrick your device provided you can access stock recovery):
1. Place these 1.3.51 and 1.9.50 update zip files on your external sdcard. If you can only boot into recovery, you will need to eject the sdcard and use an alternative method to transfer these files from your PC to the sdcard and then place the card back into your tablet.
2. Boot into stock recovery. You can do this from a powered off state by simultaneously depressing the power and volume buttons until the white RCA boot screen appears. Once this screen appears, release the power button but REMAIN DEPRESSING THE VOLUME BUTTON until you are in recovery.
3. Select: Wipe cache partition. (use the volume button to move selection up or down, press the power button to make selection)
*Factory reset wipes cache too in step 4, but I am cautious.
4. Select: Wipe data/factory reset. Warning: you will lose any app you had installed.
5. Select: apply update from sdcard. Select the 1.3.51 zip file. Allow it to complete.
6. Select: apply update from sdcard. Select the 1.9.50 zip file. Allow it to complete.
7. Select: reboot system now.
8. Enjoy your upgraded RCA RCT6203W46 once again!
Probable causes for issue:
Rooted system (forgot to unroot prior to upgrade)
Removed or froze any stock app (including Vudu, Walmart, etc)
Modified a system file (build.prop, etc)
Bad luck
installation aborted...
Hello! I just did this guide but it didn't work. I always get Installation Aborted with Step 5 and Step 6 both of them are Aborted. I followed carefully your guide but still no good for my tab. I uploaded the two installation aborted message from android recovery. The first photo is when i update the firmware 1.3.51.zip and the second photo is installation aborted too when i update the firmware to 1.9.50.zip... Please see those photos if you can see what it made to abort the installation process. I hope you can help Droidify. And also, when i rooted my tab pro 10, i only remove the Vudu app and another app that was included but not the Walmart app...
Did not work for me...

First of all Thank You for trying to help, you are doing more that Walmart & RCA combined.
I followed your instructions and this process did not work for me. I have attached pictures of my screen after using both zip files...
Also I only rooted the tablet using Kingo I didn't remove any system apps
I think a key difference in my case is that I had TWRP installed and was able to boot into the system and unroot, install stock recovery, and then perform this procedure. Seems like you guys never had TWRP installed as recovery. I have a couple other tricks I am working on, but be patient as I vet them and see if something might work. Sorry this didn't work for you guys!
Any updates on this?

No didn't use TWRP.
My tab is only 20 days old & still under warranty so I'm just going to send it back to RCA.
Was hoping to fix it myself so I wouldn't have to wait 4-6 weeks.

Unfortunately, I'm boned as far as returning it goes because rooting voids your warranty.

Well then there is no sense for me to keep trying to resolve this considering I have no way to test fixes, especially if what I posted resolved my particular case. I did send someone a test to try and if that is successful I will share, but outside of that I tried guys.
I guess the lesson learned here is that we all have to remember to unroot and not delete the apps that came with the device, only freeze them using Titanium or similar and unfreeze them before updating.
