Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300) which was working fine until the other day. The phone was plugged into the charger and immediately restarted itself and stuck at the initial loading screen. I could boot into TWRP recovery but was unable to mount any partitions and if I tried a factory reset it reported that there was no OS installed on the phone.
So I decided to reload the factory firmware using Odin. I have downloaded what I beleive to be the correct factory 4.3 firmware (I9300XXUGMK6_I9300OXAGMK6_BTU.zip) but when I try to load it using Odin it fails at around 90% (see screenshot).
The complete message log is as follows:

Here is a screenshot of Odin when it fails. One concern I have is that at the top of the screen it sdays 'Odin3 i9505'. Should that not say the model of the connected phone which in my case would be i9300
If anyone could offer some advice I would be gratefull.
Thanks
EDIT: I forgot to mention, since the failed attempt I can no longer boot into recovery but I can still boot into download mode.
Try the rescue firmware with pit, search in general forum.

Thanks for that boomboomer, I'm downloading it now.
What do you think about Odin not displaying my phone model at the top of the screen. Is this something I should be worried about or just ignore it for the moment.
My the same , but select rom forr I9305 bot i9300 and it fail on modem
and i flash i9300 rom and it works perfect

hi
I probably tried loading i9100 rom into my i9100G phone and now its stuck.
I got BSOD (Black Screen Of Death) - see attached jpg.
when i connected the phone back to the pc the odin app recognized it (i guess it remained in download mode).
I loaded the following file GT-I9100G_ICS_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.2.tar and by that i coud enter download mode and recovery mode.
I tried to load ROM stock and failed time and again, each time got the same message:

I had the same problem and I've flashed a stock ICS rom via odin. And do a factory reset/ cache wipe. After that *2767*3855#. It's a hard reset and you'll lose everything but you can use your phone again

This actually happens quite often for me. Just try again and again. You'll get there eventually. Try and do the process as quick possible. That helped me.

I suggest you go to this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504408) and follow the instructions within the various other threads exactly as they indicate. You cannot screw this up if you follow it correctly. I screwed up my phone, followed these instructions, and am now in a stable 4.3 rooted state.
Also, make sure to use at least Odin 3.07.
Good luck and report back! And be patient!
If you took the update to MJ7, you can't go back.

life saver bro..i flashed that file and it worked! phones back and running thanks.
Hello XDA,
I did brick my phone by trying to downgrade to 5.0.2 from 5.1.1 and bricked my phone and searching this forum I felt that there should be a post like this to ease the journey of people like me. As I did learn a lot from my 5 years android journey, I would like help everybody like me. Therefore if I find any important/"you may not know" fixes, I will share here with headings. Also If you have another solutions for any problems of these kind; please write here so I can collect em' all in the OP. Let's go!
-ODIN fail while flashing hidden.img-
Solution: This is caused because of your partition(pit). In XDA, you can find .pit files of S6 Edge for several models (i.e. I have a g925f so i have to find the corresponding pit file. The one worked for me was the G925F pit with Hidden_300M. First you flash this pit to your phone, then try to flash your rom; you're good to go!
Solution 2 Thanks to @Alex-V : Just delete the hidden.img from the rom.
---------------------------------------------------------------
-If you can't properly enter to recovery mode-
Solution: Please do the combo "Volume Down-Home-Power" until you reach download mode. When you reach there again do the same combo until the screen goes off. When it goes off QUICKLY switch to "Volume Up-Home-Power" combo and hold it until the screen comes in and dims a bit. When it dims release all buttons and ta-da you're in recovery mode.
---------------------------------------------------------------
-ODIN gives a fail at NAND write-
Solution: This problem is caused because of the nand mismatches (generally, or build differences etc.). Doing this may cause a hard-brick IF YOU DON'T follow the instructions CAREFULLY.
1) Get your device to download mode by using this combo "VolumeDown-Home-Power"
2) Open an UP TO DATE ODIN.
3) Find the corresponding .PIT file for your S6 EDGE.
4) Find the corresponding stock rom for your S6 EDGE.
5) Then put them into odin CORRECTLY. Rom to "AP", .pit to PIT
6) Make Sure these are checked: "Re-partition","NAND all erase"
7) Plug your device in and then press start.
After these you should be already flashed correctly without any nand write fail.
---------------------------------------------------------------
-SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE: 2 BINARY:1-
This happens when you try to downgrade from 5.1.1... Thanks to Samsung, we can not downgrade to repair our phones or save them because of the locked bootloader. So you have to flash to 5.1.1 again.
If anyone with a working rooted phone, can he/she share his/her own nand backup, so people with screwed boots can recover
or simple delete the hidden.img
Added to the post, thanks mate. Also looking for how to fix corrupted sdcard (theres no mmcblk0x file)

I am trying to fix a S6 edge. The problem is that when i boot it up it shows me "an error has occurred while updating the device software"
Odin, newest version, does not see the phone. I have searched around and downloaded the G9250ZTU2COKB_G9250ZZT2COKB_BRI firmware for my SM-G9250 and trying to flash it with Odin 3.10.7
It starts but soon after starting it shows me the following error. Any help please? I have searched and found a thread where it says that i need to remove the hidden image from the file but there is no hidden image in it after extracting the tar file.

DON'T do this ^ - your 9250 is a different hardware variant to the 925F/I/T etc models and if you flash a non-9250 firmware you'll likely end up with a paperweight.
Anyone else with any ideas?
I attempted to root my phone through Odin pushing superuser and twrp onto it as tutorials told me to do, and my phone literally goes to the boot logo and then stops. I have tried a million times to flash a stock rom back onto it but it won't push through either Odin or TWRP without error messages. It lets me flash a cyanogenmod rom through TWRP but the screen just goes back when I boot it up. Is my phone done for? Can I fix this somehow?
If you aren't able to reflash the phone with Odin, most likely, you aren't using the correct firmware. Please post your model number, the name of the file you are using, which version of Odin, and what the error you are getting is.
