Does anyone know a German ROM that I could use in the USA on my T-Mobile s5?I'm rooted and unlocked, I am located in Georgia, USA
Well .... provided that the Rom is a GSM Tmobile Rom you would only need to tweak a couple of things and flash the USA Tmobile Modem ....... the rest of the ROM is basically the same......

Thank you for your response, but unfortunately I am not that good in all that ROM stuff. Could you please be more specific, I really don't know how to do this!
This is where you get the Mantra in XDA......... "READ,READ,READ" it really does not take that much reading to get an understanding, and do more Searching......... I would guess there are many people that have done custom International ROMs that are compatible wityh the USA Tmobile....... but that.............. is what XDA is about....... you doing the legwork to learn and discover what you are looking for.......... it is findable, but unless you do the effort, it will not be found, good luck on your search.....

HI too many threads to look in and searching hasn't helped, looking at picking one of these up and the one I want is locked on T-Mobile which isn't a problem as its the sim I use, but it has T-Mobile firmware on would this be easy enough to get rid of.
Yes just flash a stock firmware through odin, theres guides and a list of roms in the original dev section

Jabby mi old mate, just click on the second link in my signature.
Thanks chaps for your replies made a note of that page, just got to snag myself a phone now.
What firmware do you chaps recommend to use ? there is so many out now and I would want to flash a custom one also, I think before I sold mine I was using Lightning rom but it seems its exploded now with roms, what do you advise.
What is the best route to go, flash a stock firmware then put on the custom one after and will it hinder me with it being locked on T-Mobile.
Can i flash any tmobile ROM? like this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2682608
I recently flashed a MIUI ROM from our verizon thread and noticed it worked decently with either a tmobile sim or our own Verizon LTE.
I also recently flashed this T-mobile ROM :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292054
which was posted on the T-mobile thread but had our verizon kernal in the list of downloads, with success.
So my question is this: can i flash any Tmobile ROM as long as it doesn't include a kernal and radio and of course access the network settings to change it to LTE/CDMA.???

Probably not. Most ROMs are tightly integrated with their kernel; if you flash just the ROM and not the kernel, lots of things will likely not work well.
I think you should make a little list of the ones you have success with though... [emoji1]

Thanks! This proves we can use i9505 (generic S4) roms, but doesn't guarantee we can use Tmobile. But that may not matter. This means we can use the repository of I9505 ROMS which opens the door to a boatload of ROMS!!! WHOOOHOOO.

Yeah, if you're one of the lucky few with the MDK bootloader or a developer edition phone.
But you still probably need to flash the entire ROM, including the kernel that supports it, assuming you're one of the lucky ones.

I'm assuming most of us have the MDK bootloader. I'm running TW 4.4.2 now (goldeneye ROM). Works flawless. All the mods for i9505 work great too. We have some awesome themes out there in the i9505 themes thread. Verizon S4 keeps getting better and better.
As the title says, can I flash a firmware from the European qualcomm S5 SM-G900F in my t mobile SM-G900T??
I want to flash the uk version SM-G900FXXU1ANCE since those from europe are mostly bloatware-free (the ones that are not from a carrier)

Whatever you try, don't flash the bootloaders from any other phone to your device, unless you absolutely know what you're doing.
Otherwise, you might just give it a shot. If you have a good recovery (e.g. TWRP) or something that you can use to get back to stock easily, then there's little risk. Keep in mind that you'll only want to flash the Kernel and the ROM, but you'll want to leave everything else alone (bootloaders and recovery for example).
If by "firmware from...", you mean the odin/kies firmware package, then these typically include the whole shebang. These will probably have bootloaders, recovery, and every partition included. I don't recommend using these unless you know how to dissect them and remove the bad parts.

Yes, all ROMs from international S5 forum will work. Just don't flash anything Exynos based as far as recoveries go.

Read my first response, only ROMS from the international S5 forum on XDA. DO NOT flash firmware for a different model from SamMobile.
I tried to flash the last firmware from G900F and got fail on ODIN. The thing is, if I use Mobile Odin I'll be able to flash only parts of the firmware. I mean, in order to change only the android, not anything else like bootloader or things that can brick the phone..., which options should I check on Mobile Odin? Kernel, Recovery, System, Cache, Modem, Modem #2, Hidden?
Thanks in advance
hi i have the same issue

If you look in the S5 (G900F) threads you will find many, many ROMs. Most of them will work on the G900T. You need to do a lot of reading about ROMs and how to install them. I like Omega ROM and use it on my G900T on AT&T's network.
It's all about research. You will need to read a lot so you understand what you can and cannot do with your device.

No problem, but to warn you, Omega is a touchwiz ROM. I'm sure that's part of the reason why it's so dependable. I started off with straight android but I've had a Samsung device since the S2 so I'm used to and enjoy touchwiz.
How about the opposite direction? G900T ROM to G900F?
So, I'm in Saudi Arabia and there's a opportunity to buy a G900F. I'm a Tmo customer and would like to flash a G900T rom so I can enable wifi calling. I actually use it quite extensively since I'm abroad.
Any chance that is possible without complications?
I think I saw another thread where someone did this, but had problems with the GPS.
Sorry for bumping this, I've been searching about this but didn't find the specific answer.
Can I install G900FXXU1CPD2 (which is for G900F) into a G900T, just using Odin? I have been reading and I've seen in many places that a lot of roms for the F version would work on the T version, as long as they're unbranded and have nothing specific on them. This one is supposed to be unbranded (Netherlands) without any kind of bloatware or apps from any mobile provider.
What do I need to do in order to flash it and make it work?
My G900T has the last Marshmallow version, and it's 100% T-Mobile stock, no root or anything.
Thank you in advance guys.

Do you have the international or ATT version of the phone? If the international, then no, don't try to use ATT software. Despite the fact that you might utilize the same bands for service, the radio chipset is different between and via RUU won't even try to run since it won't recognize it as the correct device.

Thanks u so helpfull, can u recommend any stable rom 4.2 or 4.4?
There aren't any stable 4.4 roms - though there are some options for usable ones but since they aren't based off of official software, you can expect some inconsistencies, glitches, issues with the camera or stuff along those lines. This is one of the more popular roms with good ratings:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122390
Have used Viper on many HTCs and usually is a good experience.
Just curious, I like the phone and use it over my Nite 5 when I want something slim. But there's no new roms. Why is that?

everyone is waiting for the marshmallow release
There's lots of new roms, they are just over here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development
and they don't have wifi calling
I'm sorry I'm still learning. Are there certain versions we are supposed to use with the tmobile variant?
Roms and Kernels for any of the snapdragon models ( G900F/M/I/L/K/T/S/W8 ) should work on the t-mobile version, however only t-mobile based roms will have wifi calling so if you are addicted to wifi calling you will need to stick to t-mobile roms.
Also there isn't MM 6X bootloader or radio for your phone yet so the MM roms may not work I haven't tried one yet...
I've been running thunderbolt v2 for a week, very nice 5X N5 ported rom with lots of cool new features t-mobile is too cheap to enable.
the current version of thunderbolt is an MM rom so it may not work over the 5x bootloader and radio...
I also ran PopWiz Telstra v5.1 for nearly a month it's another great rom.
I recomend the kernels made for the roms too, the kernels for t-moble will break the camera and give you another problem to solve and there are several really nice kernels over in the other s5 thread anyway...
probably better served to stick with T-mobile, then root & debloat.

ha! well I understand the sentiment, but there are good reasons for slimming down the stock rom. I have been around here quite awhile and have never seen anyone succeed at graftin the T-mo Wifi Calling app into a full custom ROM. Neither have I ever seen a successful substitute for the feature - it works very well no thanks to T-Mo but thanks to the small expert contractor that developed the code.
so for those who like the feature, we debloat, and enjoy life

I gotcha, I wasn't suggesting trying to get wifi calling working in another rom, Just that you would have to go without it if you flash one of the international roms...
I have found the google hangouts dialer to be a reliable substitute for wifi calling so It is an easy move for me to wander away from a t-moble rom.
I realize many have not had as much success with hangouts for various reasons but it works for me. Plus I really don't need it at all anyway.
and HERE it is...

Ya pretty much, G900F/M/I/L/K/T/S/W8 roms should work with only minor tinkering, most of the roms over in the GS5 development thread are based off of the g900f debbase from ALEXNDR so it is probably safer to say any g900f rom will work on most any other snapdragon s5.
Although I have to say I've been on our t-mobile MM rom, deodexed/rooted and I find it pretty much flawless so I haven't been sampling the other roms for a couple of weeks now...

You should be fine, the modem and boot-loader are separate and you couldn't flash them if you wanted to, they are not for our phone!
As long as you are already on our MM build Phoenix should install just fine. If you still haven't upgraded to MM officially MM roms might have trouble with the older radio and boot-loader.
The Phoenix kernel is one of the best kernels over there too.
I would take the customer.xml from your current MM CSC and place it in the zip for Phoenix before you flash it so you have the t-mobile apn info already in the rom when you flash it.
Yes I m currently on MM.
First tell me how to backup all, especially efs folder, my two phones got a problem coz of EFS , no network issue and changed many firmware but didnt get successful.
Anyways which software/app is best flashfire ? Or any other? Will custom twrp recovery do the job ?
And then please guide me to what I have to do first, for installing tht rom coz according to the OP in tht thread, my device will brick.
Thanks for replying
