You can try Latest CM 11 Nightly for s5830i
And yes it is recommended to have stock ROM installed before flashing ROM as Different ROMs use Different File systems .

Updating/switching roms (CM)

Hi, I have updated and rooted my phone a while ago so I have forgotten a few things... I have CyanogenMod 9.1.0 and android version is 4.0.4... And now I came here and saw that there is android 4.2 and CM 10.1.... But I didn't found any information for updating between those two, there is only for coming from stock firmware. Can I just download 10.1 and install it from Clockwork mod or should I first update to 4.2 and how to do it?
Wipe data/factory reset after flashing the kernel for the new version and install the rom in cwm. All your data will be lost, but your phone should boot
Btw please ask questions in the Q&A forum

Sorry for the wrong forum...
And tnx for the reply... So no need to update to 4.2 manually, just kernel for rom and then rom?? Will it be like that for any onther custom rom?

Yes it's the same for all custom roms. Flash the kernel, boot in cwm and do the wipes, then flash the rom
Btw you could read my guide on how to install a custom rom/kernel to get more information. The link is in the "Roll up sticky thread" in the stickies in general forum :good:

this is the manual way (automatic is SEUS ).. but to ur question yes, it so:
before installing rom, check which kernel needed for this (or if its inside zip, to flash BEFORE install; via fastboot..)
if u switch between stock ics & cm builds OR between cm9 and cm10(.1) FULL WIPE IS recommended!!
if u do only a upgrade like install newest version of smae rom on ur phone u can WIPE NOTHING! (only if u get problem )
yes 1st kernel (recovery (CWM) built in) then ROM ; maybe some addons/gapps (google apps), dun
peace

yep very good
the point which make me conflict is installing CM 10.1.3 on official firmware 4.1.2 ( as table i sent you from CM official site it shows firmware 4.2.2 beside CM 10.1.x) because CyanogenMod not change firmware number i think
could you please clear this for me

u need not worry about those version and firmware details
The statement in those cm sites are about installing the correct gapps package for the correct version of cm
It has nothing to do with incompatibility of latest version for our phones
Be rest assured i run android 4.3.1 in my gs2 gt i9100

As you are upgrading to CM 11 therefore you need only patched modem, only download the patched modem from the latter thread then flash the cm 11 ROM after that the patched modem and you will be good to go ... Check this thread for info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918601

to cm11 from stock 4.1.2xxemc2
1.Check in the CM 11 thread if you can upgrade to 4.4 from 4.1.2 because in my case I needed to above 4.1.2 to flash 4.4 *I was coming from 4.3 *
2.When you flash a custom rom,you don't need ariza patch because the kernel which the ROM uses is already patched and I think the modem is too,so you will be good without it.
3.Make sure you have the latest recovery , I recommend you Philz
Recovery above 6 versions.

This setup will not work. There is no way to get stock and cm12.1 working at the same time.

Thanks for the reply
So for a dual boot i should be using only JB based roms,so that the kernel works on both the roms?
