So, I attempted to install TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) with Heimdall on my Galaxy Note. It got soft bricked, and it's stuck in Odin mode. This is what's displayed on the screen whenever it's powered on:
"ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I717
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES(1 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM"
Under that, there is an error message displayed:
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
Is there a way I can possibly restore it? Removing the battery and SIM won't do much, and Kies doesn't show it in Firmware emergency recovery, yet it still attempts to connect. Thanks a lot!
EDIT: KIES managed to fix it! Though I lost my data... Should have made a backup, stupid me.

I was in the process of rooting my phone with Odin and using Clockwork Mod Recovery Odin flashable .tar file when I accidentally unplugged it while it was in the process of starting. Now I'm stuck on a screen where it says Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
In the corner of the phone it reads
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I717
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES(1 COUNTS)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
I need answers.... Would appreciate it
Download kies and while on that screen go to tools-firmware upgrade and installation that should get you back to stock
Did that, it downloaded then proceeded with the update and never went through. Let it sit for about 30 minutes, it never even hit 1%. I re did them steps tried to initialize it once more and all it does it download firmware then go away. Is it possible the phone is bricked?
If you can get into that screen its probably a soft brick, does odin recognize the device in in that weird download mode?

So today i was trying to root my phone this morning i was using a method called Casual R465 by Adam Outler. When i tryed using the software it would try to load some of the software but half way through it would give a a error message and say to enter in a pastebin user name and would say failed and error. from watching videos i never seen this so i closed the software and tryed a few more times. nothing seems to work. i left my phone plugged in after a few minutes i noticed my phone was looping the samsung galaxy note 2 logo over and over. i have tryed the volume up+home+power and it doesnt seem to work. When i do hold volume down+home+power i do get the odin mode option. i have tryed running odin on my PC and download firmwares but when i do it will start loading then give me a Fail message. im a bit worried if someone could help i would greatly appreciate it
in odin i says
Odin Mode (red)
Product name: SCH-I605
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Offcial
System Status: Custom

You need to read through Adams thread, if I remember right there was something about certain versions and drivers.... your not bricked, just ran into a road block. Please use Q & A or post your question in the appropriate thread.
You have used an older version of casual... Should have used r515....now you need to go back to odin and use stock rom to resume handset to normal mode
Thanks,

I've been running CM10.1 for quite a while with no issues, but I decided to "experiment" with a 10.2 ROM that I found. I've managed to brick the tablet to the point where I have 2 boot options:
1) With no intervention, it boots directly into Download mode
2) I can hold the power button and volume key and get the option for Recovery or Download, but Recovery mode does *NOT* work. It just blinks and stays on the screen with the Recovery and Download options.
I've tried flashing with ODIN, but no luck. On the downloading screen, there is a message at the top left that says: "Reason: No Kernel". I'm not sure if this actually means there is no kernel on flash or if it is unrelated.
The other information on this screen is:
Secure Mode: Secure
Check Signature: Check
Custom BInary Download: No (0 counts)
Current Binary: Samsung Official
Waiting for USB cable...
When using ODIN, ODIN reports that it was successful in copying the new recovery image to flash. But, the result is always the same.
Does anyone have suggestions or know what the problem may be? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi my phone has been in a boot loop and it is on stock firmware, and when I flashed it It does nothing but takes me to the odin mode and say, "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please use Software Repair Assistant and Try again later". This is the only thing that boots up recovery will not work how can I flash the original stock on there? It is a verizon Samsung Galaxy 4g LTE "GT-I9305" If you could help that would be great.
What the screen says in odin.
Odin Mode
Product Name: SCH-I535 (This can't be right because I looked up the phone and its GT-I9305)
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
QualComm SecureBoot: Enable
Bootloader AP SWREV: 2
Was able to fix the issue however when it boots up it will automatically turn off or when you swipe it just shut off.
Hey guys,
I recently bought a Galaxy S3 i9300 from my friend for $10. She was going to throw it away because it was stuck at the boot screen. So I figured I could make use of it by re-flashing a rom via odin.
I know for a fact that the phone is rooted and has CWM for recovery, but it doesn't boot into the recovery either.
I tried flashing TWRP to it via Odin, but there's absolutely no download bar in the download mode appearing. Odin either says 'Fail' or gets stuck trying to install it.
I also downloaded one of the official firmwares from Samsung's website but that didn't work either; again, no download bar appears when I start the flashing, but it IS in download mode.
The letters at the top say;
Odin Mode
Product Name: GT-I9300
Custom Binary Download: Yes (5 counts)
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
Any ideas what it could be? This isn't hard bricked, is it?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks!
Edit: It won't turn on at all any more, NOW it is hard bricked haha.
