I decided to install AnTuTu Benchmark and do a performance test (obviously), and I find the big surprise that our lovely LG G2
(In my case the D800 AT&T model, running the CloudyG3 2.1 Rom, with the Dorimanx kernel without being overclocked) had a score of no less than 36201 points! And even better score that our successor: The LG G3 ... Simply amazing!
Here I leave the image for the ones who don't believe me.
How is your battery life ? That's impressive
It is normal as the screen of G3 is of 2k resolution, which burden the GPU a lot

My battery life is very good, I have 25 hours, with a moderate usage.
I don't know if this is the perfect combination of Rom+Kernel, but it works very good for me And if you don't have too much apps, I recommend it!
36k is OK but not amazing! ;p
I had over 40k on stock 20D. After upgrading to 20H it is about 36k too. So, there is nothing special about Cloudy.

Hello all , i create this thread to discuss the impact of the KitKat 4.4.2 on our phones , for me it was a disaster , my G2 was lag free score always more than 36000pts on antutu and more than 20000 on quadrant , now with 4.4.2 i get only 28000 pts on antutu and 17000 on quadrant .
AND YOU ?

All benchmarks are affected by kitkat, but it doesn't indicate the lags/smoothness
I tested all kk roms including CM ones. Now i'm on not official for my phone kk from vodafone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2664933) and it's all the same. These are my scores : Antutu 25000-27000 and Quadrant 16000-17000. Usualy in Antutu i got 31000 on PA kitkat. And with stock 422 i got 34700. In Quadrant i got 20000-21000 on stock 422. But i think there might be an issue with Quadrant and Antutu, because on 3dmark everything is up the roof(pics), Ice Storm - maxed out, Ice Storm Extreme - maxed out, and Ice Storm Unlimited 17127.

I've been running the 4.4.2 since yesterday and besides the lack of root, I really think the update solves most of the strange lag in lg stock launcher. Also apps open up much faster, eg. facebook before had a 1-2 second lag before showing the ui, now its like 700 ms and updating the feed is also much snappier.
Antutu gives med 33.000 which is more or less the same as on 4.2.2 stock.

I hate when people with low knowledge on how android or benchmarks work start thread. It's a disaster for your phone to be more responsive with lower benchmarks?Instead it's a disaster when ur phone is less responsive with higher benchmarks that smokes every other companies' device. These are some threads I wish the mods burn no even delete.Benchmarks NEVER EXPLAIN REAL LIFE PERFORMANCE!How many times should noobs here this!Even devs like @faux123 and @maxwen tell u how a kernel can be optimized to come in with much power when the user needs it and not when the user isn't and their kernels score less benchmark performances and greater performance + battery life than stock kernels for all the devices they've worked with.Benchmarks can't be read by individual scores alone.Did u check the i/o,single core and other unique performances in your benchmarking app.Btw OEMs do learn how to cheat on benchmarks after their first updates so wait for an OTA with "bug fixes" which means benchmark cheats incoming if u want higher benchmarks!

I sold my Note II yesterday and i was looking for a good stock Google smartphone. I owned a G2 for a week and I remember it had a brilliant battery life, but i don't like the LG OS. I heard about a good development scene about stock-based ROMs like Cyanogen. Is that true?
On Note II, because of the Exynos CPU and some lack of development support from Samsung, Cyano ROMs were just a mixed bag of experience. There are some minor issues everywhere and the 2-days battery life of the samsung ROM is impossible to get on CM.
So, i'm looking for a G2 for a quick CM 11 flash. Do you think it's a good idea?
I'm also considering a OnePlus One, but the invitation thing is a bit annoying and i don't think it will be easy to get one.

If you're entirely bothered about AOSP, I'd go for the Nexus 5 or HTC One GPE. If you had asked me yesterday I'd have said AOSP roms are still a bit buggy with issues but I put on OmniRom last night - it really seems the best of the bunch at the moment! Not had any issues at all (But I've only been using it properly for 12 hours or so).

Yeah, but what about battery life?
I'm ok with the 2-days of moderate usage of the Note, and i heard that Nexus 5 and the One M7 aren't very good on battery life.
I used to be on CM 10.2 stable and everything worked fine. Then I wanted to try Kit Kat, but CM 11 was pretty unstable for me (I think I tried the M4 build).
I decided to give stock another try since LG released their KK firmware. I used to own a Nexus 4 and still prefer AOSP, but you can get LG stock close to AOSP.
I use Nova Launcher and with G2 Tweakbox (Xposed) you can switch the ugly LG quicksettings with the AOSP one. CloudyStock 2.0 ROM allows you to remove LG 's bloatware during installation.
There is a GPE ROM for the lg g2.

+1 here, im also using stock kk+nova and deleted bloated apps using TB Pro + using some kernels available(using simple kernel default settings, smooth and battery friendly or if dori's kernel is updated to stable) works perfectly and smooth for me. It gives me 3days of usage when I turn my phone useless and 1 day if I play games for hours which is normal.
CM11 nightlies have been perfectly stable for me over the past 2-3 weeks

Agreed. Well, Stock + Root + Xposed + Nova Prime + Simple Kernel (underclocked to 1.728ghz) and a lot of bloat frozen/deleted is about as perfect as I have had the phone running. Battery life is excellent for me (40-45 hours with 5% battery left. 60% permanent screen brightness. 5-7 hours screen on time).

do check out the g2 dev forums for the available roms. personally i'm using mahdi rom and ehndroix before that. They are both SUPERB imo.
if battery life's what you're concerned about, for myself the roms average drains around from 100 percent to 70 percent in average of 12hours? (as i'm a light user).
in comparison to nexus 5 and htc, i'm almost definite that the battery capacity on g2 outclasses them both. so battery wise, g2 is good choice. Since my purchase of the phone in november, the dev for roms has been increasing steadily.
G2's definitely worth a consideration
Omni ROM is great for me obviously it's not CM but its got loads of options and is stable as can be really. Just had to change the low memory killer to medium with kernel tweaker but otherwise running as provided.

How much did you used it? Because on every aosp i have installed i got allways reboot problems... Now I'm on stock modded lighting rom is fast like aosp and i have call record also on bluetooth, something that on aosp is missed. But i have to say that those kk stock rom from lg are bugged because you can't disable obexmaptransaction (the bluetooth sms sharing thing) and it drian more battery than JB when paired in car. I use the phone for work so if i have to say wich is the best atm for me is stock JB but KK is lot more snappier, so i'm using this, because i have read somewhere that LG is going to push an OTA to fix those small issue.
Another problem on stock is that when you have to save a contact by default the phone use internal memory and not the Google account, so every time i have to select my account. I hate this because you cant edit wich accounts have to be the default one.
Sorry for my english, i hope to have given an idea based on my personal experience with the roms out there for the D802.
The aosp I have tried past 3 days are: Slimkat, Paranoid and Mahdi both unstable for my use for the frequent reboots...

Yeah, on the Note2 side of the forum there's a bunch of users that say "this nightly is perfect, this custom ROM is amazing" but in fact none of them are perfectly fine for random reasons (camera issues, BT issues, battery issues and so on). I hope that on the LG G2 side there's a different situation, thank to the Qualcomm CPU that i think is better for development.
AOSP ROMs are really good for me on my D802. Now on latest Mahdi Rom with merged 4.4 sources I have 4h screen-on-time with 59% battery left, I unplugged the phone 21h ago. I have 'only 2G' setting and I used a lot of WiFi (Dolphin, FB Messenger, Youtube...)
Generally the ROMs will get really stable on days/weeks, because of LG 4.4 sources.

Just activate ART The thing is to flash proper Gapps and generally to flash the ROM properly, for me ART is always stable and it gives profits in battery life and smoothness.
AS title Suggest I want to classify ROMS in

If users can share there battery life, it will be easier to choose from ( without actually trying all of them)

So, according to the poll, the stock ROM has by far the best battery life. I'm thinking of getting a G2 soon, so is it worth the battery sacrifice putting CloudyG3 on it?
noob question but why do different roms have different battery lives?

To me cloudy g3 is about the same as stock as far as battery goes.
Battery on all the G3 roms are terrible, I'm back on stock now and my battery is spot on again.
i get very good battery runtime with pardus hd rom and also with LAMHOANG G3 rom, both with dorimanx kernel.
im not a heavy user, most times i end up with 100-120h standy and 4h sot wifi only.
Stock LG ROM I was only able to get around 3-4 hours SoT. Granted, I only had stock on my phone for about a week.
SlimKat (JB kernel) got me a consistent 4-5 hours SoT.
But Mahdi (4.4 kernel) was what unleashed the power of my phone. Consistently get 6 hours SoT everyday with the stock kernel. And cracked 7 hours SoT using RenderKernel several times. While reading eBooks, just about topped 8 hours.
Tested Vanir for a week, but couldn't get it over 6 hours.
Same apps installed, same usage patterns. JuiceDefender managing cell and wireless radios.

Why do lg g2 has such a low score in antutu v5.1 only 33500?
G2 notoriously scores low on benchmarks. I wouldn't look to much into it. Phone is a powerhouse even given its age.

lg g2 is a very good mobile and this test is not important ( :| )
with ehndroid rom I got 39k on Antutu out of the box
Coming from a device which scores 8-10k seeing someone say 33k is low is funny
it's because lg took the bionic optimisations out with kitkat on lg2. they were present on the original jellybean rom
this was probably done, imo, to make the g3 look like a much faster phone then the g2

Sesh is definitely designed for gamers and who love performance i m also using this kernel and yes this kernel not for who don't play games on mobile and want more battery. NGK is balanced which give u decent performance as well as good battery backup and optimus drunk is beast if u want more SOT this is my review after using these kernels and may be differ from other because everyone using their device differently and my device also 1 and half year old. So results are not same for everyone.
I agree with NG and Drunk kernels for SOT but for andro 10 there are some od changes and seems that, for me, Miui 11 with andro 10 stock gives such a good SOT that is maybe even better then other custom ones.
Malakas had awesome development but i do not know what happened to him. If anyone knows please say it.
Also a side question - How do i boost screen colours like Malakas had in his kernel?
