I'm currently looking for people that have some knowledge on developing kernels for the G2. At least the basic stuff like compiling them from source, handling toolchains and working with github. I know a bit of everything but still have a lot to learn and would like to share ideas and hopefully come up with a project between a couple fellas.
Anyone interested feel free to contact me via PMs or on this thread. TIA to anyone who cooperates
If there's a group already doing this I'd be glad to join too.

Now that we've managed to get into an Android GUI and have a working touch screen driver,we need experienced rom builders to come forward to develop android sdcard based roms.
If you have the experience and would like to get involved, now is the time to step forward and get involved.
Please post here or contact Markinus or myself on the irc #toshdroid channel.
Thanks
Noone? Sad
I would make a request in the general Android Development section bally3. It's not like many Android dev's will be browsing the other sections of typically non-Android phones.

I use Linux all the time at home and work! I now feel how useful it could have been if I spent some time playing with ROM building etc rather than playing with WinMo customizations! I am so following the android on tg01-type threads Will try to spread the word too and see if anyone can come forward to help
Good luck and keep up the good work
Some links of video showing Toshdroid running on TG01.

Im really interested in learning to develop for the android platform. Are there any programs or books that would help with the process? As of right now im trying to pick up the basic terminology by lurking in the development section of various Android phones.
-Thanks
There are lot of threads like this... try search a bit
To learn application development, it will be good if you have some java skills. I will suggest to visit
developer.android.com
Read through the thread I posted here a couple weeks ago:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069483
Basically everything you need to get started and compile CM from source.
I gave up after that, damn laziness.
I hope this thread helps you as much as it did me and many others!
I see many people carrying SGSIII's, but I see a large amount of users owning the great SGA. The SGA was at some point the 4th most popular Android phone, here is an article that backs me up scientifically: http://opensignalmaps.com/reports/fragmentation.php
So why does this phone receive so little love from XDA Devs or other places like CM?
I wish I had the will power to learn to become a developer, but it is just not in me, I am just a noob who loves to live on the edge by risking to brick his SGA everyday while flashing new ROMs.
I wish for this thread to be received with the same good intentions I meant it to be for.
Being a developer is hard and time-consumptive activity.
You need to know Java, C, C++, xml, bash, elements of smali.
Plus have ability to read logcats and patience to solve all of the errors. This section has many great developers and hundreds of ROMS. You should feel lucky
You can become developer too. Just practice
xda-developers.com is a forum recognized worldwide. I appreciate the fine work that is presented daily in all XDA sections. Thank you developers, moderators.
Hey guys!
I'm rather new to all Android development-related stuff, but I'm eager to learn every single bit of Android, from apps to ROMs, source code, and whatever is out there. Now you might wonder why am I looking for a developer? Well... I'd love to have someone to fall back onto, ask for advice, someone who knows what he/she is doing, somewhat like a tutor. I want to learn stuff, but I have NO clue where to begin. Following guides would help me on a little, but it doesn't really teach me how to use the knowledge shown in the guide in other projects.
TL;DR: I want someone who would like to help me learning about android (OS) development
Thank you very much,
Ririshi
First of all, I'm not talking about making apps. No that is not what I want to achieve.
Second important point, YES I've gone through the pinned threads.
So, I'd like to begin learning more of the Android Development which currently is pure magic to me. I can build LineageOS from source for my officially supported device. But that is not development, I'd like to learn how the source code is structured, how and where each of the components lie, how do I understand the code so that I can too start contributing.
Besides this, I would also like to understand how device trees are made for new devices.
I've tried to get into contact with quite some developers, but all I've gotten is ignores, rude replies or the answer as "From Experience".
I'm unable to find resources for what I'm asking above.
If any chef/dev/anyone would be kind enough to help me get some direction, I'll be thankful to you. Ik my thanks probably wouldn't matter to you, but I really need to learn this.
Thank You
