Are you sure you downloaded and extracted the whole zip? Especially check for a file in the folder bin/posix/64 called adb. It should be under the folder in which you executed the toolkit.sh file...

The USB connection from my S1 to my computer is not working. Will I still be able to root my phone?

Google drivers not included
First off I would like to say thank you for the video and the XDA post of how to root these new tablets. I Just bought two of them and am eager to modify them.
I followed all your steps but when I download the SDk it doesn't include any folder with Android USB drivers. WIndows automatically installs a "MTP USB Device" driver. I have tried to download the android USB driver separately else where and windows wont accept it saying it doesn't support it.
I am at a loss of how to get this to work. Kingo Root doesn't see the RCA device at all even though windows does and it is installed 100%. When I unplug the USB cable and back in Kingo searches and searches then says Not Connected.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thank You!
There is a fellow who used iroot on this in the forum. They have a apk app version PR PC version ppl say iroot is easier than kingo. Next a recovery would be great lol
Any luck on rooting RCA RCT6773W22 KitKat 4.4.2?
The last comment on another thread says "Root Master roots this tablet" without a link or anything. I installed the "Root Master" app, but was confused because this is just a "how to" app and it points basically back to the same method that the OP suggested would work.
Put simply I have my device connected to my computer and visible with "adb devices". Both standard google drivers or PDAnet works just fine. Kingo Android Root hangs at "WaitForDeviceTimeout", and basically I have figured out the device is supposed to ask for permission to wipe user data at fastboot screen, but nothing happens.
I'm attempting to get to a point of being able to try out different android mods, and I'm working on an android launcher, so I need to be able to flash a ROM to the device in the event that I program myself into a corner.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Also, I have tried "adb reboot fastboot" and then "fastboot devices" has the tablet visible and working. Next "fastboot oem unlock" just shows "..." and nothing happens while the device is in fastboot mode. I "cntrl + C" out of fastboot, and then type adb reboot or fastboot reboot and the device comes out of fastboot mode. Still stuck in a loop of no root love.
So once this is rooted is it possible to put a custom boot animation & do exposed framework?
Happy Holidays ppl!!! :sly:

Hmm, this method did not work for me and I had to make my own method.

Are you guys using the newer quad core model?
wont see usb debugging as on
on kingo root, it says usb debugging is not on, but it is. the tab loks like the only driver is rct bla blah blah. i installed the stks but cant get the diver on the tab. and it thinks it is an unspecified device on my windows 7 computer. can someone help me?
You don't need a PC. On tablet goto browser

V38
This can be found in build info in about device
Some revisions work with Kingo after ota update some don't
Some work with iroot some don't
"Kingroot"
Confirmed to work on the above revisions
Its not supersu but its root and it functions as it should
V28
N
V38
So far have proven dumchar addresses are incorrect
Thru an update for v38 which gave proper addresses
V31 has correct a dumchar
ALL 5 REVISIONS HAVE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT ADDRESSES DIFFERENT REVISIONS ARE NOT UNIVERSAL
development has been started on v28, v31, v38
Twrp is ready for v31 and v38
Other 2 haven't even started waiting for people to post links to those revisions

I had been stuck in boot animation after trying to install a modification and with your help and another on flashing a stock image I'm back up and running! Thanks so much.
Followed the whole step-by-step and I got it to work. After I unlocked the bootloader using the how-to from Sony, the device can't be found anymore.
Any thoughts?
[edit] Got it, USB-check was turned off. My bad
i've followed this yet when i execute ./adb devices no devies show up... anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.
tnx

How can I flash TWRP, root my device and load OS 11 using this method? Thanks in advance...
How can I get the latest dab and fast boot?
Or else, how can I know if the ones I have are right for my Nexus 5?
I've downloaded the ones posted by r0ger here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61676680&postcount=183
I'm pretty sure everything should work ok, but after burning a N4 last year, when modding from a Mac, I now proceed very carefully.
Thank you.
When I enter the command
./adb devices
My device is shown, but it is shown as offline. Further I cannot execute any other commands.

ok I succed to flash via odin, but screen is always black, galaxy is always view as Gti9000 in odin.
I try different flahs via odin, they succed but not result.
Please, anyone to help?
Any chance?
Could I, by any chance, use this to restore to the stock bootloader without a hard brick or Linux? I accidentally restored factory software to Bootloader instead of PDA, but I installed it right now, however it just loops the boot animation.

1st Gen Fire HD ?
Hello, will the JMZ bootloader unlock method work for the 1st Gen Fire HD 7? Currently running sw 7.5.1
That's wrong cuber.
I think you need cuber.py from attachment in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/development/tools-create-unlock-img-fix-boot-img-t3050689
Do you need a fastboot cable to get into fastboot? I have ran the adb-setup in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
I can assure you I have ADB and fastboot drivers installed. When I get to the step to issue the adb reboot-bootloader command it just boots up back into the OS. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, but I am stuck. Please help?? Also, I really appreciate your work you have done.

I am rooted and I have my unlock.img but I can't get into fastboot to flash it. PLEASE someone help me get into fastboot. And please clarify if I need a cable or not, maybe that is the reason I can't get into fastboot?!

You don't need fastboot cable--they don't work with our device. You might have said No to installing device drivers with the 15-Second installer. Maybe adb is working because its dlls are in the adb dir. I'd try running the installer again, but you may need Fire-compatible driver, idk. That's all I've got. Good luck.

They do work with our device, I have the soho. You use it to restore the soho with Firerooter. I have ran the installer I don't know how many times and I am pretty sure the drivers are installed. The two drivers I have in device manager are:
Android Device -> Android Composite ADB Interface
Portable Devices -> Fire
Everytime I issue the command it just goes straight back to the OS. I don't understand? Unless it has to be some other USB. I am using my front USB panel and I do have an intel chipset but I am on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. The only other usb device I see is USB Composite Device. But that can't be the driver for fastboot can it?

Oh, good grief! No, "our" device is 2014 Fire HD, not soho. No wonder the confusion.
Yes, FB cable required for soho. Get one and then go to G+ KFSOWI modding and follow their install guide to update both adb and FB drivers. Guide tells you how to connect cable for fastboot mode. Be aware that the bootloader unlock process here was not written for soho and probably hasn't been tested on it. Please post any further questions at KFSOWI site. thx
