Can Verizon G3 be used on ATT and rooted / ROM'd - Verizon LG G3

I found a decent priced white G3 on CL, but guy said it's from Verizon. He said it works on ATT though ? But how's that possible ? Verizon is CDMA and ATT is GSM ?
And can the Verizon version be rooted and have full TWRP Recovery installed just like the international or T-Mobile version ? None of that stupid Safestrap weird crap like ATT phones need to go through

yes it will work on at&t..im currently using mine on att...every verizon lte phone can be used on gsm since to get lte they need gsm signal...so it's kinda unlocked...sweet, right ? and all you have to do is root with stump root and flash a bumped twrp..easy as pie

Thx for info. But what is this "bumped" TWRP ? Is this another Safestrap weird hoop to go through ? So the Verizon G3 isn't like the International version where is can just be plainly rooted, and have the standard TWRP Recovery installed, and start flashing any CM12 ROM or whatever right away ?
Or does the Verizon version need special "Bumped" ROM's or some crappy thing ?

To Root do I need to downgrade or anything ?
I am looking to buy a used Verizon G3 on CL, and this guys phone is in sweet great condition, not rooted or anything. So I assume it's running the latest and up to date Verizon firmware and version ?
And then once I root, I just install that 'Bumped" TWRP Recovery, and flash away any Verizon ROM I want ?

If you are on 12B you have to downgrade to 10B there is a thread on how to downgrade
After downgrading. Use stumproot(bruteforce) to root. Then after use flashify to flash the bumped TWRP image. Then you can go ahead and start flashing.

I am trying to do the same thing. So basically you still use verizon variant roms and just change the apn settings for att?

[Q] Flashing NON T-Mobile ROMs on T-Mobile HTC One

Can I flash a NON T-Mobile based HTC One ROM on my T-Mobile One? I was thinking about flashing one of the ROMs in the international HTC One forums, like Android Revolution HD. That or one of the international stock ROMs, to get rid of the bloatware. Would this brick my device?
yes any international or at&t rom. sprint wont work
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response! Do you know why you do so without bricking the device? I remember seeing a LOT of warnings on other android phones to never flash a ROM or radio that isn't from your carrier.

just radios but roms dont include them. just know that most sense based roms use aroma and it hasnt been optimized for our device so it may freeze in the middle of flashing. you will need to hard reboot and try again. just so you know i own the tmo variant ant i have flashed every rom on the international thread.:highfive:happy flashing
all htc one variant are the same except sprint. most sense based roms on international thread include wifi calling for tmo users also

From what I've read, the ROM flash does not affect the radios, so yes, it should work. You will need to setup the data connection in the settings menu.

Would Installing An "International" RUU Make My Phone Better?

Hi, I'm new to this device, as a matter of fact I don't have it yet, its in the mail....I purchased an HTC ONE Google Edition At&t phone and am going to use it on Straight Talk. I had a HOX+ but couldn't get WiFi tether to work and tried multiple Roms and other advice. Anyway, I was encouraged to get the ONE because there is a lot more development on it. I was wondering if I first UNLOCK the device from its carrier and ROOT it and get S-OFF, could I install an "International" RUU and firmware to get rid of any preconfigured settings to At&t and not COMPLETELY RUIN my device and still have LTE ?

[Q] What do I do from here?

Hey, okay so I Just got my OG and I have successfully rooted the stock ICS and used freegee to unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do from here.
I want to use it on T-Mobile so I would like to know if you guys have a currently working free (or at least the cheapest) and quickest way to obtain the sim Unlock code?
I want to install Beanstalk but I'm not sure if I need to flash the Jellybean update first using LGNPST or if I should also flash TeenyBin (since the OTA isn't working)
I want LTE to work but it's not a killer feature since HSPA+ is pretty good anyway, but the best Radio for Beanstalk/T-Mobile would be great to know.
A little friendly advice would be appreciated. Just don't want to brick my phone on the first day.
Update.
So I've used Flashify to update my recovery to TWRP 2.6.3.0 for Kitkat, and now I think I'm going to do teenybin directly instead of flashing the JB OTA since according to here it's what will update my OG to be able to run the new KitKat ROMs without the need for the JB update. Then I'll install Beanstalk.
I have a full Stock ROM backup on my PC, here's hoping everything goes smoothly.
do a backup of your efs partition, then update twrp to the kit kat veraion. aftwerwards flash beanstalk. head to the og on tmobile for info, no lte on tmobile.

Yeah, so what I said I would do worked, flashed TeenyBin and reflashed KitKat recovery, then I flash and am now running Beanstalk on my LG Optimus G! haha.
Then I paid $1.62 for the unlock code from a guy on ebay, and it worked! YAY! Went down to the local T-Mobile Store and got a free sim from an employee who's a friend, and now I'm in the midst of transferring my data from my old phone with Titanium Backup.
Thanks for responding!
Still not sure what the best radio is for overall performance. the newest Nexus 4 radio 0.48? not sure.

[Q] 4.3 unlock bootloader?

I made the mistake of taking the 4.3 over the air update last year.
Ive since been using the phone with a straight talk sim but would love to get rid of all the verizon bloatware and run a custom rom...
Just wondered if this is possible yet or is the bootloader still locked down tight?

search "safestrap" and "saferoot"
you can root and use titanium to freeze apps or use safestrap to flash only MJ9 based roms over your current stock rom. I recommend n3bula if you are going to use safestrap
Its been a while since I looked into seeing if the 4.3 note 2 was yet able to be flashed with custom roms and bootloader unlocked.
Any updates?

I recently rooted and flashed a 5.0 rom on a sprint s5 just to find out it wont work with straight talk, ive been running my verizon note 2 for years with a gsm sim, i had it ported to straight talks cdma lte 4g and my service is much better.
I would like to get another year or so out of the phone but its been laggy after years of use.
I could factory reset but would love to get rid of the bloatware and flash a custom rom.
Is N3bula the best bet still? Im not too picky on what rom I flash. Just want a stable one and one thats easy to flash. Ive never tried rooting or flashing a rom on this phone yet,any thing to be aware of?

Some questions about my one m9

I recently had a one m9 bought from a friend. Now I want to install some custom roms into it but I wonder if I can install roms from the main one m9 section (for example Android revolution 20) for my one m9 or am I stuck with Sprint based custom roms? the m9 that i have is also rooted and unlocked (not sure if there's recovery) and it's running bad boyz m9 5.0.2 . If I install a new ROM then do I lose my unlock?

Feel free to flash Android Revolution, ViperROM, Insertcoin...usually the developer would mention which phones are compatible with the ROM. Just make sure the version of firmware, which should always be that of Sprint M9, corresponds with the version of ROM you're planning on installing. Your unlock should be fine. Cheers!
I just flashed Android Revolution but I cannot find the root anywhere while the ROM description clearly said that it is rooted. I also tried to flash SuperSU and was successful (i guess?) but when I reboot nothing was there, I still don't have root. I'm on locked BL, S-Off, SuperCID installed. Is there anything im doing wrong?

Try downloading it from the Play Store and let's see what happens. Otherwise flash ViperROM. I flashed Viper after the 6.0 update and it has root.
I had just also flashed MaximusHD today. Also same as ARHD, no root no extra options.... tried installing supersu from play store but didnt work ( i got the message that supersu binary is not installed). I will try to flash viper one m9 tomorrow like you said.
Are you on unlocked bootloader? I suspect that maybe the reason...

I don't think Android Revolution supports sprint, Vipoerone Does, ICE does at certain stages of release, at first it doesn't either, and you also have BadBoyz Rom for sprint
Flashed ViperONE, MaxmimusHD, ARHD. Seriously none has root. rdasante may I know how you installed MM on your sprint M9 and flash viperONE and are you on Unlocked BL?

@spiwar I flashed the ruu that was posted here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-one-m9/general/ota-tomorrow-4-11-t3078397/page27
Then flashed twrp recovery and installed ViperONE. Root was installed automatically. And yes, I'm BL unlocked.
Also, as @Aldo101t said, Android Revolution is not good for our device (Sprint). I thought that was more closer to stock so I'd give it a try. After over an hour installing it booted with no network. Baseband shows unknown, so I'm back to ViperONE. I'm waiting for BadBoyz
