Purple Hue / Tinge on the right of the screen - Verizon LG G3

Hello All,
I have a Verizon G3 which I bought a couple of months back. For a few weeks, I have observed that there is light purple hue on the right hand side of the screen. It is prominent on light backgrounds and on dark backgrounds the right side looks bit darker. Am I victim of the screen burn issue or the LCD has gone bad. Please help.
Thanks.

I would get a warranty replacement or repair. That's not normal.
The phone is less than one year old so it has to be covered, even if you bought it second hand, lg has to honor the warranty directly.

If you notice, the screen looks a tad bit dark on the right. This is a Verizon G3 bought in the US and am using it in India. Would any of the burn in fix tools available in the Play Store Help. I can't ship it back to US. Got it of CG List, person got it as gift. Was in box unopened..

You can get warranty repair directly from lg, doesn't matter where you bought it. The phone has been released less than a year, so they have to honor the warranty.

Updates:
Warranty not applicable in India.
I switched ROM, was on Eclipse and now on Dirty Unicorn from At&t with VS985 kernel - Tinge reduced a bit.
Had actually pasted the qi charging sticker on the back cover bought from eBay, removed it again some improvement.
Still some amount of discoloring is present, screen is not uniformly white / gray but better than before.
Noticed that the screen feels hotter in the area of the tinge.
Can this be the retention issue seen on LCD ? Can there be any changes to thermal settings or display profiles which may fix this ? Like using Synapse or similar tool to change display profiles or using the burn in fix tool

so you are saying if I, a g3 owner, decide to move to india tomorrow, then next week my g3 has a hardware issue, lg will no longer cover it because i moved to india? i find that extremely hard to believe.

Technically if you purchase a retail phone with the bill and stuff and you are the first owner you would get the warranty. But as I mentioned I got it off Craigslist and its a Verizon branded phone, the warranty won't apply.

Take a very very close look it might be screen burn.... If it is get a screen burn app... Let the app run one night and don't let screen fall asleep

What's up with all the screen issues?

Green tint, blue tint, lines....etc..
My first device had problems making calls.
Second device had a white burn in mark.
Third device has a faint white horizontal line near the bottom...
Really?
I've also seen a few people complaining that they had circles burned in to the screen
Now is this a problem with OLED screens in general, or is this just a poorly made device? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the phone, but this is getting ridiculous.
I've had 2 devices in the past 3 days (Best Buy wouldn't match Sam's Club tax pricing) and I haven't had an issue with the screen on either. There's the slight bluish tint when you look at an angle but nothing I'd consider an issue myself.
My screen is great no lines or nothing. I think the amoled screens just intensify the colors so much people think the colors are tinted...and maybe they are...still looks amazing

First device from AT&T store, no issues.
I believe I read in the normal Galaxy SII thread that theres a screen calibration app that fixes it. I'll see if I can't find it.
Here are a couple pics showing my issue. Don't know if I should return it or not...
Not the best pics, but you should be able to see the darker center. The light part that looks like a white line goes upwards on the right side as well.
I upgraded today at the local ATT store... first one had a very noticeable coloration problem in the lower right hand corner, almost in the shape of a triangle... Went back and exchanged it... Number 2 looked fine when I powered it on at the store, but now I am noticing the same lightness. I created a simple gray jpg and emailed it to myself (so I can open it using gmail and see it) and it was really bad on number 1... Number 2 barely noticeable.
I will give it a couple days, perhaps the screen will work this problem out itself... otherwise I will be going back to the ATT store for another exchange.

It's been a couple days, so I think I'm going to return mine. I might just hold out for the next powerful phone. I'm having trouble with data and receiving texts on this device anyways. Oh well
SGS2 from an AT&T store and it's amazing. No problems at all.
For some reason the only time I get a green tint is with auto brightness on. When its off there's no tint regardless of the brightness level
I actually returned my first SII to Best Buy. Had a big white triangle in the bottom left corner. Obvious when the notification shade is down. Best viewed on gray colors. Got a 2nd, had slight circles burned into the top. But they were very faint and I gave it a few days. Completely gone.
Why would it take a few days to go away

No clue. The triangle didn't go away on the first phone. The insignificant burn in on the second one (dim dim outlines of circles at the top, probably from a testing app Samsung uses) went away after a few days. I guess the screen adjusted.
Nothing but absolutely spectacular performance from my Sunday AM Best Buy purchase.
Bound to be a percent or two failed units.
Too busy finding and loading apps....
Only a single force close so far, probably me being impatient.
God I love this phone.
My phone seems to go dim from time to time.

Stuck/dead pixel...what are my options??

Hey all, I'm a new Droid Razr Maxx owner! I bought it off contract from someone locally and I'm really happy with the phone so far!
With one exception....I noticed a stuck/dead pixel last night off to the right a bit of the center of the screen.
Someone with more knowledge than me can tell me which it is, but it shows up white on dark backgrounds. I think that's a stuck one correct?
Anyhow, I ran one of those stuck pixel apps last night while I was sleeping and it's still there. So I'm afraid I'm SOL right? Would Motorola see this as a reason to replace the screen under warranty? I highly doubt it, but just looking for options.
If I can't do anything about it, I guess I will just have to live with it. But I'm pretty anal about stuff like that haha.
What do you guys think? Thanks!
Is it like this one in my thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552688
If it is, you don't need to worry. There is a bigger chance you will get a phone with another bigger fault if you exchange it. I didn't exchange mine
Also it's not precisly a stuck pixel it has something to do with the gpu because everytime the capative buttons is on aka lighted it's visible.
Mine isn't much like yours. Mine is a stuck white pixel towards the middle of the screen and it stays in that location no matter what.
It's weird because it doesn't show up on a black screen. It shows up on gray and more neutral colors. It's like the size of a pinhole but it's pretty annoying. I'm assuming it's annoying because I know it's there lol.
Unless you're brave enough to replace the screen, I'd try to get it replaced. My old G'Nex had a speaker issue. It slowly started acting up until it bit the bullet. I didn't buy my phone from Verizon and when I went to a store they said they wouldn't help me. I called 611 (from within the store- at this point I was pissed). I explained that I didn't buy my phone from Verizon but it is a manufacturer's defect. They advised me to take it to a store for review, told them I was at one, they finally just agreed to send me a "like new" replacement.
Now, maybe the fact that I've been with them 10 years, never missed a payment, and am currently not under contract had an affect, but I always seem to get much better results when I call in rather than go to a store.
Call them, worse they can say is no.

I got on an online chat with Motorola and they said to send in my phone for evaluation and POSSIBLE repair. I asked if they would even be able to see what I'm seeing and if they would deem a repair for it. She said send it in and they will take care of it.
Color me skeptical. Should I try it?

Get an RMA # and go for it!

If it doesn't do this on a black screen, it's more likely a defect in the glass than a video RAM or OLED defect.
A GPU or video RAM defect would always display the defect, even with black backgrounds, because that pixel would always have one of the high-order bits set.
Try looking at the pixel with a jeweler's magnifying glass, and tilt the screen back and forth while viewing the defect closely. If it's the glass, it will be obvious. If not, you can replace the OLED display, which will be expensive (more so if you have it done).
It could be a grain of sugar stuck to the glass...

[Q] Touch Screen going crazy, plz help!

My HTC EVO 3D's screen is getting worse and worse seemingly after the last OS update to version 4.1.1 from HTC. I think it's software related because it doesn't happen all the time and turning the screen off for a few seconds makes it go away for a little while and there have been no significant drops of the phone. Factory reset didn't help. The phone is not rooted.
Here's a 15 sec video clip so you can see what I mean:
plus.google.com/u/0/106879723793109771975/posts/jmp9YEuEVoz
(this is my first post so I don't get to embed a link to an outside page)
Those white dots show "touches" that the screen is registering. Anyone have any ideas what I should do? This Rogers phone is over a year old, so Rogers won't replace it and I don't think HTC will now either.
I don't have a screen protector on either.
So, screen protector is not the problem. No huge impacts with the screen too.
Guessing a digitizer issue. I'd take it for repair.

Fully agree, Digi is the issue. Take it to your mobile provider for them to look at it... explain to them about you possibly think its the Digi and they will take it in.
Failing that, HTC direct will beable to help
But how do you got official 4.1.1??
He's mistaken. He meant ICS.
Well, that's funny! The EVO I sent back that I got on launch day, since it was a few months old did that at the bottom. The replacement does that at the top, now I've seen it on the right side. Maybe the replacement that's coming this week will do it on the left!
Yep, sounds like a bad digitizer to me. I replaced one about three months ago, and this one is going out, now. First one I picked up was cheap with "tools" and some adhesive. I just ordered another from Amazon, that's supposedly from HTC, for a little more $$$. I guess I'll see how that one goes. Usually can find them for less than 20, and combos (digitizer and LCD) for about 60.
There are threads that detail how to replace them, and videos on you tube. Not hard, if I can do it, just take your time and follow the instructions.

[Q] Small Defect, Worth Replacing?

Hey guys, so it seems I have a near perfect HTC One, where I even don't have that gap at the top, but I do however have on the left side near the top left corner a small manufacturing defect that leaves about 2-3mm of the LCD edging out a bit making it feel as if brushing against a sharp ruler on that spot. I rarely have my hand there to really feel that defect through natural use of the phone and certainly not visible unless specifically looking for the LCD edge line very very closely, my concern is if I go in and swap the phone that the swapped phone will have other things wrong with it.
Should I bother replacing? I have no experience replacing/exchanging the same exact phone for a better build quality so this is why I ask.
It's a roll of the dice..
My original pre-order was almost mint but had a similar / minor flaw. I called AT&T and they sent me a replacement..
The replacement they sent had a more brown'ish looking screen and the backlit buttons were very dim. It also had a small gap on the top.
I kept the original and sent back the replacement that had just arrived.
I then went to an AT&T store and the replacement he brought out had some flaw where the backlit buttons would only turn on if it was pitch dark. I refused that replacement and still have my original pre-order One.
If you have one that's close to mint and it only has a minor flaw, I'd keep it..

I don't think it's any secret that HTC has a few QC problems to correct..
The normal user would probably never notice to be honest. We are the 1% that are hardcore users and notice everything.
Most people open the box, turn it on, and don't even arrange their icons never mind tinker..
None of the 3 I had were serious flaws that a normal user would even notice..

I don't think their parts are manufactured to a tolerance small enough. It should be down to about 0.001" instead of around 0.003".

Thanks for sharing your experience, definitely going to stick with this one then considering the hassle and very low probability of finding that "perfect" One.
Also, I want to clarify that the phone is absolutely stunning every time I pick it up and am impressed and excited by it just as I was when watching videos or reviews for it before its release while waiting for my preorder. I've had it since the 18th and certainly not bored with it, which goes to show for something I think. These minor QC issues aren't even noticed by the larger majority, as said in previous post.
Thanks guys/gals, my nerves are calmed about exchanging it

I have horrifically bad screen burn that occurs after minutes, even seconds of bright objects being on the screen. It seems it only became this severe after 2-3 months of having my LG G5. It would be mostly tolerable during the day, but I primarily use my phone after I'm off work at midnight - dim light and lower phone settings make the screen burn even more aggressive in appearance.
Furthermore, I've had backlight bleeding on the top edge and bottom right corner, along with slight bright patches since day 1. This past week I also picked up a Cardboard VR headset only to find I have a dead pixel smack in the center of view on bright scenes, and more than a dozen bright pixels on black backgrounds (several are the super-bright green subpixels.)
Any one of these display issues I could've tolerated, but together it's grown outrageous. I also have faulty GPS and a loose chin connection on the bottom right. This is a Sprint G5 LS992 with a production date of January 25, 2017... so a late model certainly isn't a guarantee of better quality hardware - not for me at least.
Guys, just send it on warranty, they'll replace your entire screen (so it's a good way to loose scratches of your screen-they replace the whole panel, LCD and glass combined). Mine got replaced after 6 months of use and now after 5 with new screen I don't have any problems with it.

Unfortunately I don't believe that is even an option for me any more.
I got this G5 as an "upgrade" for a G Flex 2 that LGE Alabama at one point claimed would take 2.5 to 3 months to repair (not "7-10 business days" as the RMA email stated.) After several hours of calls and complaints online, I thought I had a satisfactory resolution 2 months after sending my phone in.
Then all of the issues in my last post started popping up.
Normally a phone is covered 1 year from date of manufacture (again, mine is January 25, 2017 making it only 5 months old) BUT both my service paperwork and the LGE representative on phone said I am only warranted 90 days after receiving the G5 in March; noting here that my G Flex 2 had no hardware defects - only hardbricked firmware on accident due to LG Anti-Rollback.
I feel now that I was purposely screwed over with a rushed, refurbished-yet-still-defective unit by LGE Alabama. I already fed them cash for the G Flex 2 being an Out-Of-Warranty repair job - I don't want to double down my losses paying them again in less than half a year.
So did LG say something about this issue ? They know thousands of people are having this problem .. didn't they say anything atleast
