SOLVED Root SM-G357fz!!! - Samsung Galaxy Ace 4

Download the following package and flash step 1 with Odin 3.07 u most likely will have to change the file extension from md5 to tar, the phone will then fail to boot with an error, restart download mode then Odin flash step 2 and your phone will be rooted http://mediafire.com/?2uuje4isd2mwdwb

Firstly fantastic news, well done and thank you very much Ive bee searching and searching for a method to root my phone
Just a few questions first please:
Does it have to be odin 3.07? (I already have 3.09 here)
I'm assmuing the phone is put into download mode for both steps?
Where in odin do I load the individual steps? (pda both times?) Do I leave only auto-reboot and F.reset time ticked?
Finally does it matter which rom I start from?
My current is the stock rom:
SM-G357FZ BTU G357FZXXU1ANH7 Android 4.4.4 20.08.2014 107691
downloaded from samsung updates and flashed with odin 3.09
and am I right in thinking that if somehow it results in a soft brick I'll be able to reflash the above stock rom?
loads of thanks in advance

It doesn't matter which Rom, both times pda, don't tick anything just leave those 2 things ticked, 3.09 might work u cud try it, n yer flash em both 1 at a time, any more probs let me kno

Congratulations! Root access is properly installed on this device!

[Q] How to flash my phone

Ok, I have been reading on this forum since april and I have no clue on how or what to do to flash my phone. I want to put a new 2.3 rom on it but I don't know where to start. I see people say you need odin and other programs, but i don't know how to use them. i don't want my phone to wind up bricked. can anyone help?
ok why dont you take a look at ths forum
but first you need to root
then you need to have the rom on your phone
then you just flash via cwm
ok, if I root my phone using odin, will i lose everything?? it says that i have to go back to a eclair version. I have apps that I don't want to lose data with. I am so confused.
what are you running?
a completely stock vibrant. I just used superclick and was able to root my phone, i am now using titanium backup and just backuped all my apps.
this is awesome!
so I cant get odin to see my phone, what do i do??
did you install drivers/?
drivers?? I am lost and feel like a idiot!
i know when i connected the phone to the computer it installed drivers and my pc can see my phone. do i need to have usb debugging on as well?
you have to be in download mode so odin can recognize it....
yeah i watched the video and did everything like he did, but it wont see my phone. i don't know why
make sure ur in debugging mode
power off phone
pull out battery
GRAB THIS STUFF : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047087
turn on odin
attach phone to pc with usb cable
now while holding down both volume buttons put battery back in.
now you should be in download mode and go back to stock with odin from here!
make sure u put the proper tar file in pit and the .pda file in pda in there proper places on odin and ur set to go.
Enjoy and also make sure u have the proper samsung drivers
then follow this link on how to root from eclair:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
Eclair is 2.1
then after u root download rom manager and on that app will be a thing to flash clockwork recovery. Then flash clockwork and then ur ready to install a rom. That link i gave u will also help u flash a rom
Enjoy
WOW, I actually did it!!!!!!!!! I was a little afraid but now it is back to stock, and now i am adding the Simply Galaxy 2.8 Remix Final and it is loading up. Many thanks to you for your help. This is freaking awesome!!!!
ur very welcome! im glad i could help
congrats on your first rom

Just download this CF-root file for KK1: http://download.chainfire.eu/66/CF-Root/SGN/CF-Root-SGN_ZS_MUL_KK1-v5.0-CWM5.zip
And then put your phone into download mode and flash that CF-root file using Odin. It should boot up after. Don't worry.
As long as you don't flash a pit file and you don't tick repartition, we can still save it easily.

Better you flash a stock now,
go to sammobile.com and find a suitable stock firmware and also download Odin flash guide from the same site and read carefully and flash.
then you find Matching CF-root kernel
thanks god with unsecure kernel and odin my phone is back again,
i was so pissed tried so many methods, even downloaded from samsfirmware the stock custom rom and it only gave me one md5 file...
so, thank you very much, reading helps a lot, now i know how to brick my phone with the unuseful cfroot kk1 5.0 version... speedmod kk1 version doesnt works too.

Hej fellow Dane
Just follow this guide step by step its excellent and proven always to work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
Then you will have your phone rooted through the kernel and the necessary CWM (recovery) installed - !
After that dl your chosen rom + kernel and reboot into recovery flash rom zip file then kernel zip, reboot and voila welcome to JB 4.1.2
And since you are a newbie (we all were once) i suggest you dont flash through odin/heimdal but only through CWM until you get more experience overall !!
Then you will be ok

Hi all ok ask away
Yes first clockwork recovery first then boot into cwm (clockwork)then what rom you choose - and i should think its pretty similar to what ever recovery's you've seen, at least in Principe of how it get things done!
You can boot from os to cwm through rooted kernels, by holding power button and choose reboot, that will give you two options to reboot or into recovery (no need for the combo buttons)
Edit: in CWM there´s a menu and one option is install zip from sd card (nternal/external) and then you browse through your sd with volumebutton (or in the new CWM you'll get when flashing a JB kernel a touch recovery - awesome by the way )

see the problem I have is I cant do what the steps describe as it requires I turn on my phone and see what build it has, and copy zip files to internal storage....so only option I have I think is odin

Ohh yes this way wont do then - you have to get a stock sammyrom with a pit,md5 or sometimes called tar file and make sure you tick repartition in odin before flash - then you will have a working OS and can do the above steps!
Or mayby better her

To get CWM again do this >
*Installation
1. Download Odin3 and CF-Root-SGS3-vxx.zip
2. Power off your phone
3. Boot into download mod (Press vol down + Home + Power on)
4. Unzip CF-Root-SGS3-vxx.zip. You need to end up with a .tar file, dont extract .tar file.
5. Open Odin
6. Select PDA as CF-Root-SGS3-vxx.tar
7. Connect the phone to your computer
8. Make sure that re-partition is not ticked
9. Click Start Button
10. Wait for phone to reboot.

root method for FOL1

Hello all!
I was just wondering if there is a method to root my T-mobile GS5 version 5.1.1 build number G900TUVS1FOL1.
I am new to rooting and haven't done it before and with the research I've done so far, it seems like there are a ton of ways to root, but as well as damage your phone so if possible I would like some help with this or get directed to the correct tutorial to root my current version.
There are so many out there that its confusing to figure which tutorial is the right one to follow or if there is even one out there for my current version, I appreciate any help, thanks!

Install TWRP in Odin with auto-reboot disabled, immediately boot into recovery and flash the SuperSUv2.67.zip
Thanks for the links. I'm also very new to rooting. Just tired using CF Auto Root and soft bricked my phone because I didn't know there wasn't a new enough version for my G900TUVS1FOL1 build version. I flashed the stock firmware with Odin and surprisingly it booted and all my data is still intact!? I didn't lose anything like I was expecting.
So now what? Instead of CF Auto Root I can use the method you just mentioned? Also, when I clikc the TWRP link there are a ton of them, which one do I pick? And do I just need the .tar file? Or do I need the .img as well?
A little more detail and I can probably get through this. THanks!

Yes the method I said will work, it's what I used to root OL1. On the TWRP link, download the file named twrp-3.0.0-0-klte-klte.img.tar. You only need the tar file, not the img file
tried this on my girl's S5, got stuck on white tmobile screen...flashed twrp in odin with auto-reboot unchecked, soon as odin said "pass" I pulled the battery, flashed the supersu suggested and got stuck on the screen...i let it sit close to 20 minutes before re-flashing stock firmware.....did i miss something??
EDIT- missed where it said "do not hit root" in TWRP, re-installed and have root, thanks!
This method also worked for me. Phone successfully rooted! Thank you.
This method works. Thank you im now rooted
Set warranty bit kernel
What do I do if when I flashed twrp it said set warranty bit kernel
Do I have to wipe for this method

HI, okay, i am experiencing the same thing on my s5 after following all instructions. (I'm a newbie at this stuff)> Everything went perfectly, flashed the correct twrp on odin with auto-rebooted unchecked, i swiped to install. After the reboot, at the start up screen it said "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel", took a long time but then it got stuck on the T Mobile screen where I cannot do anything.
Please tell me what you did to fix this!!! (not sure what you meant by "do not hit root" or how/what you reinstalled exactly) Step by step instructions because again I'm new at this and desperate!! Thank you!!

I tried installing TRWP from Odin, with auto-reboot disabled. It appeared to load into my phone, a window in Odin said "Pass!". But then how do I immediately boot into recovery? None of the keys on my phone were responding. I had to pull the battery. And then when I rebooted with Power - Volume Up, I didn't have the TWRP recovery.
And also, should I be installing twrp-3.0.0-0? Or should I use the newest one twrp-3.0.2-1??
From what I read elsewhere about Odin, once the file has flashed onto your phone, the phone should reboot automatically. If I uncheck auto-reboot, then how do I reboot the phone?

I've tried this method twice now - both times the root works but a few days later the root disappears. During the period where the device is rooted everything seems to work correctly including root. I haven't done anything that could possibly remove root - I haven't even restarted my phone. Any ideas? I used Odin v3.10.7, TWRP 3.0.2-1, and SuperSU BETA-v2.71. Should I try it with SuperSU v2.67 instead?
EDIT: I've re-rooted with SuperSU v2.67, if anything happens I'll update this post.

(Q) Step by step guide to upgrade to 6.0.1

Hi guys,
is there any really step by step for dummies guide, where i can learn exactly how to upgrade to 6.0.1 using Odin? I've googled a lot, and havent found anything usable for unexperienced user like me. There are a lot guides, but never with the EXACT files you need and exactly where to put them in Odin. I really dont want to brick my phone, so i need that and I think a lot of other users would appreciate it as well.

It depends on what you want. Do you just want to update to MM? No root or recovery?
If that is so, then follow these steps (watch this video first):
1- Do a backup (you can use smartswitch since you must not have root)
2-Check usb debbuging on devoleper options
3-Verify Security->Find My Mobile->Reactivation lock is unchecked
4-Get the firmware for your device (I can't tell you the exact file unless you specify your device, and the version and country you want it from)
5-Get odin v3.10.7
6-On odin, put the firmware on the AP option
7-Boot into recovery and wipe the cache (I would recommend factory reset + cache)

It depends on what you want. Do you just want to update to MM? No root or recovery?
If that is so, then follow these steps (watch this video first):
1- Do a backup (you can use smartswitch since you must not have root)
2-Check usb debbuging on devoleper options
3-Verify Security->Find My Mobile->Reactivation lock is unchecked
4-Get the firmware for your device (I can't tell you the exact file unless you specify your device, and the version and country you want it from)
5-Get odin v3.10.7
6-On odin, put the firmware on the AP option
7-Boot into recovery and wipe the cache (I would recommend factory reset + cache)

thanks for reply! I rooted my device (SM-G925F) so i have to use odin.. I heard you have to change the bootloader first, when you want to upgrade to MM? That's my main goal. The recovery, root and xposed is the next step of course
Im on 5.0.2. Can i download 6.0.1 sammobile firmware and flash it via Odin (in AP) without change the bootloader?

You don't need to do nothing with the bootloader.. I just flashed XEU 6.0.1 on my 925f with odin. Everything is perfect
