I just received my Padfone X yesterday. So far, I think I made a good choice. Once it is rooted and all of the crap removed, it works well. I need someone to help clarify something for me...
Should my phone charge when in the tablet?
So far, what I am experiencing is that, if the tablet is plugged in, the tablet and phone charge. However, if the phone is in the tablet and the tablet doesn't have AC power, the phone battery doesn't charge. Not a huge deal but I would like to understand if that is by design or if I have a problem.
Thanks.
It's the same on mine. I think it's part of the design. It's intended that you don't use the battery of the device that is not in use.

Hi everyone,
I've got an older Evo 3D that's seen better days. I've replaced the LCD and the Digitizer, along with the whole front frame of the phone, and recently the digitizer started acting up again, so I'm going to have to replace it a second time. But I also noticed that my camera was acting funny.
I've tried several different roms, both Sense and Non-sense, CM, and completely returned to stock relocked and s-on, and RUU recovery, and this happens exactly the same for all of them. Basically, when you load any camera app, the camera is stuck focused at almost infinity. Not quite infinity, but like maybe a 15 foot distance away or so. If you hold down the focus button, it doesn't change the focus at all, but shows the icon on screen as if it was, and then comes up green, saying it's focused. This happens in both 2D and 3D mode.
It keeps this up for about 3-5 minutes, when, as long as you haven't closed the camera app, it suddenly starts focusing. However, it doesn't focus to infinity properly. If you're looking at anything closer than say 20-30 feet or so, it focuses beautifully. Anything further than that, and it adjusts the focus, dials in perfectly for a fraction of a second, then immediately backs out of focus slightly, and then shows you the green bars saying it's focused. This can be repeated over and over again, and does the same thing every time.
Now, at this point, if you close and re-open the camera app, you're starting back with no focus adjustment at all for 3-5 minutes. Unable to explain any of this, I went on eBay to buy a new camera so I could replace it and sell the phone (I haven't been using it as my main phone for a long time now). So I got the new camera today, but it looks different. The mount isn't as solid as the one I removed, and the chips on the circuit board are very different. Hoping for the best, I replaced it, and everything still fit fine, the ribbon cable included. Now, when I launch any camera app on CM10.1, I get Camera Error: Can't connect to the camera. I thought maybe It needed to be tried on a fresh install, so I relocked, S-On, and RUU'd back to full stock, and the camera simply closes itself as soon as you open it. You can see the camera icon for about 1 second, then it's back to the home screen. The same thing happens regardless of the switch being in 2D or 3D.
I have a feeling that I've got a different version of the camera than what I had before, but I'm not sure. I'm guessing I'm probably out of luck at this point, but if anyone can suggest something to try, I'm up for nearly anything. If it would help to have pictures of the cameras, or a video of what's happening, let me know and I'll get them. Thanks everyone!
Most likely, you got a wrong cam model :/

I talked to the guy (from China) where I bought it from, and he'll gladly accept the return. Sadly, it costs more to ship the camera to China than it did to buy it in the first place. Seems like there's no other model available to buy that I can find anyway. Oh well, he did offer me a 30% refund for my trouble, without returning the camera, so I guess that's better than nothing. Looks like I'll have to use this as a permanent XBMC Remote. There are worse things that could happen.
Sometimes, when I restart my omate, right as it boots up, I get a "headphones disconnected" message that pops up and then disappears. I was wondering if anybody else is seeing this, or if something has happened to mine. The reason I ask is that my vibrate stopped working and it seems to have started the first time I saw this message. Just wondering if anyone has seen this, and if your omate still vibrates. Very frustrating, since vibrate is pretty much the only way to never miss a text message, if I'm in a loud room or listening to headphones.
I tried backup and restore, no result
I flashed omate_1900_truesmart_20140120 firmware, still no vibrate.
Anyone else experiencing this, or have any suggestions on what I might try next, or do you think my watch is faulty
Edit: my phone started vibrating again, not sure why. powered it on and off and shook it around a little, now it works
I see the message at nearly every boot, vibrate motor still works for me just fine, but as far as the toast message, you're not alone.

Getting a replacement for your defective TrueSmart will take some time, if it turns out to be possible at all.

Quoted from another thread but the same may be true if your vibrator (on your watch, that is) isn't working at all.

Hello guys,
my dad backed TS on kickstarter (probably) and then since it took so long for him to get his watch he bought galaxy gear instead so when it finally arrived it was just siting there unopened until few months later (now) when I found out and wanted to give it a spin. It didn't turn on.
It is 1GB ram model probably for Europe since 3g frequency is stated to be 2100MHz on the box
there is no response to either charging or pushing the power button, it is registered but not recognized when plug into a PC(no change on the watch itself)
I have tried nothing and I'm out of ideas I only tried to take the battery out for a bit and then putting it back in with no result
Any suggestions on how to make it work? Battery is dead? I read on the forum that the product is not very good but I would still love to give it a try.
replacement battery
ok so since nobody has a better idea I'm thinking that it is just that the battery is completely depleated. Is there a way to charge it outside of the watch? Or where can I buy new one?
Thanks, Andress

I am sorry. It appears that almost nobody is reading this forum anymore. I don't know how to help you, and nobody visits here to answer your or my question

oh I realised that TS was shipped with a spare battery. You should have a second spare battery. If so, then you could try replacing a battery. Normally batteries are stored with 50% charge, because that's best for battery life. So it should have some charge, at least enough to start charging.
it didnt have the spare battery when it came
also in the mean time I checked with voltmeter and the battery is dead so do you know where to buy new one?
Try universal charger
It's quite a common problem with phone batteries not in use for a long time. I used universal charger "Ansmann Vario pro" to get them alive - few times with success. Not necessary this model - look for anyone with adjustable pins.
I had no idea about this, but apparently the charging dock is a portable charger itself! The manual also acknowledges this I actually found this out after I attached the dock, and it "boop beep" charging notification went off before I even plugged the thing in!
Yep, just found that out the other day. Don't remember where I read it, but I think I read it holds a full charge or at least close. Not sure though, haven't had mine long enough yet.
It is a nice little bonus, but it suggests to me that Samsung know how bad the battery life is when all the features are used.
It doesn't look great at the moment, but I am sure a few tweaks will arrive soon to help.
I hope they start to sell these soon. I would like to have one in my work bag to charge the phone at work also.
I did mention and posted pics in the review thread that you CAN wear it with the watch but it looks very dorky and makes it 1" thick.
According to the manual, it will charge the Gear S up to about 50% only.
I suspect due to the small capacity, it is not efficient enough to drive the charge conversion electronics. The Gear S has a 300mAh battery, while the dock has 350mAh.
In most literature I've seen, low current does not allow efficient conversion, therefore this probably explains it.
It will be cool though if Samsung can sell some form of extended battery clip on, maybe wider than the current one, that enfolds around the left and right sides of the Gear S. Super dorky I know, but hey you'll get at least 12 hours of full use then
I just noticed this tonight. Very cool.

Tip from the Gear 1 and Gear 2 days; make sure you search for Samsung coupon codes or Samsung discount codes, when you go to buy accessories. I have used these several times to get 50% off. Search the Gear 2 forum before you order and try to find these codes., then enter at Checkout from Samsung.com

Here is a code I just pulled up from http://www.retailmenot.com/view/samsung.com?c=4861960
Make sure you are registered to the Samsung.com website first to be able to use these type of codes.
I can confirm the battery dock provides about 50% of a recharge...certainly not close to a full recharge.
charging slowly gives an error when I write custom rom to my phone and the phone does not store energy
Turn off your device while charging, it should give almost 18W

I am also facing this issue . I have changed various roms still I'm facing same issue
I had this problem too.
Change USB cable and problem is solved.
Supplied cable with Poco is very cheap and delicate.
Use ampere to check V*A=W
