Hi, did'nt really get your question. Do you mean, when you place calls your screen becomes black or OFF?

Hey guys,
I saw this app:
HTML:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.android.smartscreenoffpro
but couldn't get it to work on my tablet.
Do we have a proximity sensor to do that? Or does anyone know of one that's working?
What cover
What cover are you talking about?
Yup tried it out. Its an interesting idea but I didn't really like it that much. As depends on your wrist not touching the sensor which is quite unavoidable sometimes.
But its a nice concept. Kudos to the developer but the hardware just not optimized for it. Perhaps a better version will make me change my mind.

Umm well I can't find it on the website but it's a Sony one, hard plastic with like a felt inside that goes on the screen, flips over at the top and holds on to the back. If that makes any sense?
Where is the sensor located? There is auto brightness setting, so there is a sensor some where....

The point of that app is that it doesn't matter what kind of cover you have. It uses the proximity sensor to detect when a surface (such as the inside of a cover) is on the sensor and locks the screen. Quite useful, depending on the sensitivity and location of the proximity sensor.

Yeah, I just can't work out where the actual proximity sensor is, I couldn't get it to turn off with the app at all.
hi folks, any idea where the light sensor is on the v10 ?
thxx
It's the shiny black spot at the right of the earpiece. It also holds the proximity sensor.
thxx a lot!
Hello guys...
I've a D6503 and its Proximity Sensor has been malfunctioning in bright light. While testing when I put my finger over the sensor the test shows ON and on removing the finger it still shows ON in bright light while in low light it passes the test.
I'm using existenz 5.6.5 and have a thick screen protector which is also present over the sensor.
Could the protector be the problem or it is a hardware problem...???
If it the hardware that's malfunctioning what's the solution..???
Most protectors have cutout for the proximity sensor maybe that's your issue.

If I read the spec on different websites, there is written that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 plus (5G Version) should include a proximity sensor.
Now I owned a Flip cover and I would expect, that the screen goes on/off if I open /close the cover. Nothing at all.
After check the proximity sensor via app, it looks not as a valid or defect sensor .My device is not rooted till moment.
Does I've a problem or is there really no proximity sensor anymore included?
I own a tab s7. And it certainly has a proximity sensor. It wakes or sleep with my official keyboard case. Just verify if your flip case supports it or is magnetic.
S7 and S7 plus (5G) contains different Hardware.... starting with the Display, Fingerprint sensor ....
The plus non 5g uses magnetic sleep wake not a proxy sensor. That is how mine works.

Does you use the original Samsung book cover or one from the OEM market?
I've a cover, which should have a magnetic strike inside, but the Tablet goes not into the sleeping mode if I close the cover....only after time
I have both a dux Ducis Case and the keyboard cover both work for sleep wake

I have no problem in screen waking on open/close of the cover (official cover). AFAIK, this feature doesn't work based on the proximity sensor. It uses the magnetic field.
Now we have 2 answer
NFC and Magnetic.
NFC I can believe, magnetic with the T976 (7plus 5 G) looks like, that it doesn't work
