For those who are looking for the Motorola Rapid Charger locally, I ran into a guy at Best Buy who was the regional manager for the mobile department. He too has a Note. I explained the issues I'm having and what we all came up with as a resolution. Funny his he already had that Motorola Rapid charger.
Anyways, he pointed out the car dock kit
For the Droid X and X2. It comes with the very same charger we all are looking for. Here's the bonus: it was originally 49.99 but on clearance for 24.99. Not as good as ebay for 7.59 but I figured I had a 50 gift card after I took all those other chargers and cables back. So I bought the kit!
Here's the REAL bonus: not only does it have all the stuff for a car dock (although its for a Droid), but when.I got to the register, it rang up for 9.99!
I bought all 3 they had in stock.... ;-)
Check your local BB for availability if you don't want to wait for it to ship from ebay or amazon.
Sadly though, I'm still not charging while in use... :-(

What issue were you having with the note? And do you mind posting a picture or link to the rapid charger you bought? I tried searching for it on Google but came up with a few different style chargers and am unsure which one your talking about. Thanks!
Can you provide a link, SKU, UPC, something we can search or reference?
Sounds like quite a deal
Thanks.
Here's a link to it on amazon. I couldnt find it on best buy. Im sure you'll need to locate it in the store.

I purchased the Kensington dual port charger for iPad/iPhone from CompUsa. It has 2.1 amp and 1.0 amp ports. I used it in my 2008 Honda Civic Si and my car electrical started acting possessed. My power doors were locking/unlocking; alarm system wouldn't always work; drained battery needing me to jump start. Had left charger in lighter port w/o anything attached. Don't know if it was defective but car has returned to normal after I got rid of it might try another

Imo just modify a USB cable as another post outlined.. Short the middle two data pins or splice the cable and short them then use a regular car charger with a USB port and the modified cable. Works for me

So you are just using the cable for charging? The dock does not fit right?

I'm in the military, currently stationed in the Mojave desert and I was wondering if anyone knows and uses a good solar charger for their phone. Yes I know I can Google it, but I'm looking for a first hand type of reference.

For first hand style knowledge I'd suggest the user reviews on rei.com . I'm also in the market for a good solar charger and that's the best place I've found with user reviews that seem real legit

First, thanks for your service to our country. Second, yes, I have used a solar charger for a few years now and it still performs well. It's called the "Solio". It has 3 panels that fan out when in use and you insert a pencil through the middle to prop it up. It will hold a full charge for about a year. I've left it outside once and left for the weekend... upon return, it got wet and thought it was toast. But after a few days, it started working again. The one I got cost about a hundred dollars but it was worth it to me.
It also has AC charging capability too.
HI ,
im thinking about adding wireless charging to my nook , i know it can be done ive already read the nook color post on xda here. my concern though is that the specs of the gear im looking at at 700 mv and i know the tablet normally needs 2.1 amp to charge. i have the same problem as most the cables are fu*k*ng GARBAGE and im tired of wasting my time going to stores, ill crack mine open and just solder in the wireless QI pad instead.
BUT
i want to charge my tablet at its normal pace 2.1 amp not the .7 that the pad i am looking at for my sgs 3 has, i was going to just buy two of the qi pads off ebay but is their one that i can get that will do 2100 milliamp instead of the 700 milliamp one i saw for my sgs3 ?
i mean it will charge at the trickle charge pace but i want it up to speed
any thoughts or links ? im ordering parts monday.
thanks
Nothing ? Well parts are on their way ...anyone have any idea where I need to look ? Inquired with the gent who did the NC but no response will post update after I break it then fix it

So how did it go? I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my NT. I have conductive copper tape to make the connections.
Were you able to find a decent pad to give you a 2.1 amp charge?
Thanks.
My goal is Clean & Convenient Nexus 6 as a BRAIN for my Acura MDX 2007
Ideally would like to built housing dock that looks like factory made with no visible cable but for now I'll settle with this setup.
Map, Music, Phone calls, One handed, portrait & landscape, charging ALL WIRELESS.
(Dream for the future: Remote starter, NFC unlock door, cooking & laundry )

Can the Rav Power charger keep up with power usage while using GPS navigation?
Didn't have trip long enough to test. So far navigation on short trip still add couple percent to battery.

I can't seem to find the same version of the tackform mount. And how did you attach the charging pad, was it just the suction and holding force that the mount uses?

Check in the description of his video on YouTube. He has links for his set up.
This is pretty awesome, and while it's a bit pricey for a car dock solution, it IS a car dock solution and one that meets my requirements (not having to plug in a power cord every time).
Any way of getting the car mode to launch? Perhaps an NFC tag or something?
The charging pad is actually glued to tackform.
I'm also using ringke fusion case, it is a bit tight/shallow with the case on.
When I got extra time I'm going to try make better video so it can show more details.

It is a bit pricier than what I want but tackform built quality also pretty good for $20.
The other one that I also consider is exo mount, I have the old version, the clamp. It work with small device. But with nexus 6 it's a little wobbly.
The new version is for one handed but I don't think it's going to work.
I'm sorry not sure about car mode, NFC. Have to do my research again.
For now I'm just going to set up tasker app so screen would stay on while wirelessly charging. Still learning.
Oh also looking for angle head micro usb so it wouldn't sticking out like that.

Me device arrived yesterday, here a couple of first impressions:
+ Nice packaging/box.
+ Easy assembly, strong suction cup. Attached it to the dash of my jeep using no adhesive.
+ Using the Nexus 6 I drove for 20 minutes with Google Maps navigation, Bluetooth streaming music All-Access. Screen brightness set to auto. Battery went from 75% to 76%. Its not discharging like the HTC M7 Car kit.
- Initial impressions of quality is that the plastic material seems cheap. Considering the device is $80+tax.
- Its big and bulky, I am comparing it to official HTC Car kits for M7-M8.
- Proprietary power connector like the one on VÜ Wireless Charger. Have to be careful rotating the mount so the connector doesnt get damaged.
Adjust height so that it wont interfere with volume rockers.
When did you order yours? I ordered on the 3rd I believe and haven't even received shipping information
Where did you get this? The one on the website says it is only for use with phones up to 5.7 inches. Does this still work for the Nexus 6 or did you get it somewhere else?
Well, never mind, I now see in the description that it says it is compatible with the Nexus 6. Strange that they would then mention up to 5.7 inch phones.

I ordered mine on 2/3 in the evening. Arrived on 2/6. Ran another test with brightness blasted, GPS and BT. Doing that battery slowly drained.

Really wanted one of these, but a proprietary charger ? I have a cable I threaded through my dash to my last dock. I would have to do that again and find a new bluetooth receiver as it is in my switched plug.
Guess back to the drawing board.
This is end piece going into the device. Its molded to regular cigarette plug on the other end.

Last time I checked with iottie they said that the easy flex wireless wasn't officially supported with the Nexus 6. I have seen info on XDA about mods but I wanted a supported model. Iottie have a new model is in works, but this one is available now.
You run the Nexus 6 on max brightness, stream music using BT over LTE whilst navigating and it still charges? What is the amperage spec on the easy flex? I could look it up but lazy right now

It's 2.1 amp. I don't use my phone on full brightness ever, I usually have it at 50-75% brightness. It's officially made for the nexus 5 but works great with the 6.
These guys are the most unreliable fools I've ever seen. First it's January , then it's June, then it's now. I can only imagine the support they provide....

It's 1amp at the most, unless they got nextgen Qi that no one knows about. They're both rated the same.

I might try to cancel the Vu if I can save a few and get the iOttie. I didn't even know about it. I'm not really happy with Tylt anyway, I ordered before this guy and my tracking info still just says "shipping label created". Thanks for sharing the pics.

For half the price you're better off witht the ottie. I ordered it through amazon for about $45.
The iOttie Easy Flex Wireless should accommodate 3.4 inch devices, and the Nexus 6 is only 3.27 inches. So it should fit.
I think the issues is in regards to the wireless charging capabilities. I think I've read that in some cases it couldn't charge because of the "fit".

Awesome, thanks for that.
I was going to ask this about the Tylt, but I think this answers my question.. I just gotta figure out if wireless can charge though the trident case. I've tried it on two QI chargers, no luck yet but I've only spent a few minutes trying to position it.

There is absolutely no problem with charging. I've had mine for over a month and haven't had a problem.
