Huawei X1 7D-501L/7D-703L Best 320DPI ROM? - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

What is the best and/or latest 320DPI ROM?
And is it possible to get EMUI3.0 on a 320DPI ROM?
I have installed 7D-503LV100R002C553B002 on my 7D-501L but I cannot get 7D-503LV100R002C208B005 to install after that which supposedly comes with EMUI3.0.
I have also found 7D-503LV100R002C208B002 but that is 400DPI and already EMUI3.0?

Only two "native" 320 DPI kikat ROM for mediapad X1, as far as I know:
I) the 7D-503LV100R002C553B002 you have , and you can implant EMUI 3.0 on this beta by:
1) Download:
http://www.mediafire...002C208B005.zip
2) rename this file to "update.zip"
3) place it to a dload folder in your SD card
4) local update (home/Cloud apps/system update)
5) after update, eras the update.zip file from your SD card
II) The brand new 7D-501uV100R002C208B010, reported by china users short while ago:

But you can manually change DPI on any ROM (with or without being root):
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AndrewJohnYoung/posts/5JsU7bUHHaq?cfem=1
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54821865&postcount=2

I tried out the 320DPI ROM but there were too much incompatibilities. I am now back on the European 7D-501L B103 ROM which is 400DPI and I started experimenting with the build.prop but I had trouble saving it despite following the exact instructions.
Also without a Nandroid backup I have to do a factory reset if something goes wrong and restoring a Titanium Backup etc. takes so much time.
It would be nice if there were to be a list of stock Huawei Apps showing their compatibility or incompatibilty with a DPI change to 320.
I have had problems with SystemUI, Contacts, Huawei Keyboard, Google Keyboard so far and this forced me to do a factory reset.

As a lot of international user, you should wait for a native 320 dpi kikat ROM for 7D-501L ...
But note that you can install a CWM recovery (just use flashify to go back to stock recovery each time you want to flash a huawei file), to do nandroid backups.
Note also that the adb method is much mor easy to change DPI (no root needed, no system files change)
And there are some map files to get some apps back on chinese ROMS.

Changing Mediapad X1 DPI Resolution
Guys,
After trying all Chinese ROMS in 320 DPI, I prefer the international version B103. However, it's very easy to change DPI density. I do need a 320 DPI ROM because I use Tablet Talk which is not comptatible with 400 DPI ROMs. I have contacted Tablet Talk many times to correct this bug (only in one screen) but they just simply don't care. They answer to my emails kindly but they refuse to add a couple of lines of extra code.
So hereunder you will find two tricks to get 320 DPI density if you need it like me or if you like it better.
Thanks to Andrew John Young https://plus.google.com/+AndrewJohnYoung/posts/5JsU7bUHHaq?cfem=1
Changing Mediapad X1 resolution without ROOT
Without ROOT and using the adb command you can change your density
Commands:
1) >adb devices to check if your device is connected. If it isn't, activate developer mode and activate usb debugging and redo step 1
2) >adb shell wm density 320 If this doesn't do anything,or if it hangs, just press CTRL+C do a
>adb shell reboot
then once the unit reboots, redo steps 1 and 2
3) Reboot your system
That's all.
NOTE: Keyboard issues are the same so please install Swype (paid version) or the Hackers keyboard and activate it before changing the density
WARNING:
DO NOT DO A FACTORY RESET WHILE IN THE NEW DPI. Always restore it to 400 DPI before doing a FACTORY reset
Changing Mediapad X1 resolution with ROOT
1) Root
2) Install busybox
3) Install terminal and enter commands
>su
>mount -o rw,remount /system
>chattr -R -i /system
4) Delete or rename /system/set_immutable.list [set_immutable.list.old]
5) Added/change to build.prop "qemu.sf.lcd_density=320" and "ro.sf.lcd_density=320"

I have changed the carrier logo to the one down loaded and tried to follow the instruction. "Terminal Explorer" search on play store brings up several "Terminal Emulator" apps but not "terminal explorer" . I tried a emulator but "Su" doesn't work. "su" changes the prompt to root. It wasn't clear whether enter was supposed to be used between Su and load or not. My boot screen hasn't changed after rebooting. Any suggestions?

How to change boot logo

Post the steps. Thats all I need to complete the change. From Consumer Cellular.
Here is instruction to change boot logo for Consumer Cellular version:
1. root the phone, install ES File Explorer or Root Browser, and ConnectBot or any terminal app, and grant super user right to these apps
2. backup original boot logo at /cust/us/consumercellular/logo/oemlogo.mbn if you really like that ugly image
3. make a 720x1280 image then flip it vertically (if you forget to do this, you will find out soon...)
4. save the image as 24bit bitmap file (BMP format), any program should be fine as long as it can save file in this format without any additional tag, header, profile etc
5. use this "BMP header remover" (Windows only, but it should not be hard to write your own for Linux) to remove the 54 byet header from the BMP file:
http://karpolan.com/software/bmp-header-remover/
6. copy the modified BMP file to your phone as /cust/consumercellular/us/logo/oemlogo.mbn
7. make a backup copy of this file : /data/custom.bin
8. use ES File Explorer or Root Browser or terminal app to modify the text file /data/custom.bin, just add a few characters to the end of line, for example, anything will do, just change it, and save. Please don't ask me why, a few Chinese posters figured this out on their Chinese version, I have no idea why this works.
Code:
consumercellular/us
to
Code:
consumercellular/us-xyz
9. go to a terminal (eg ConnectBot) on your phone, type:
Code:
$ su
# load_oemlogo
you should see a line says something and it should take a second or two to execute. if you see nothing and it finishes in no time, then you did not do step 8 correctly
10. put the text file /data/custom.bin back to its original form, hope you did back it up!
Code:
consumercellular/us
11. reboot, and you should have your new boot logo.
Shutdown logo
The instructions worked for everything except the shutdown logo...its still that ugly consumer cellular logo...ideas?
That's a separate file. Just delete it. Or rename it something other than shutdownanimatiin.zip

Enabling LWP on Remix OS for PC 32bit/64bit

I had recently using this OS for a month and i have discovered many things...
I have done these steps from this link, disabling box mode and wallpaper lock using ALT+F1/F7 from this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/remixos-overlay-apps-faq-tips-hints-t3332275
OS im using is RemixOS 32bit version 2.0.201 March 15 2016. from this OP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/remix-os-pc-hacked-edition-ota-v2-0-201-t3345968
Live Wallpaper im using is Amazing GIF Art Pro with SaitamaOk.gif as a background
This method requires root and an edited init.rd (the hard way) or if you dont want to root it or editing the init.rd just edit just simple two lines from the build.prop with RMXTools.exe from windows, (the easiest windows way with unrooted RemixOS). Unpack system.img edit it with a notepad at windows and search for folders system__/system/build.prop
ro.remixos.box=false
ro.no_wallpaper=false
If appears at true change it at false.
Repack system.img and place it on where you installed RemixOS (On pendrives i had to use Ubuntu Live CD to move it into the 2nd partition)
Any third party launcher will enable livewallpaper, but requires those two lines at false parameters
But with default launcher I have downloaded this app from playstore.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.BenPaul.LiveWallShortcut&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dlive+wallpaper+shortcut+apk+play+store&pcampaignid=APPU_1_pa76VuPIOcjNesf_v9gK
It takes you this menu, hope it helps!
Update: The latest RemixOS update March 31, 2016. RemixOS Version 2.0.202 it comes without ro.no_wallpaper on its build.prop. In other words there's no need to modify the whole OS if you really want the Live Wallpaper feature from the last link from playstore i ve sent... But if you want another launcher that is not Jide's disable remix box.
Enjoy XDA peeps

Let me edit the OP since this method requires root, and needs editing init.rd to enable mounting the system as rw and its more recommended using ES File Explorer or Root Explorer to edit build.prop
32bit is more recommended. why not 64bit? Cuz has problems with root access <.<
For 64bit its highly recommended using RMXTools.exe from windows if you want to edit build.prop to edit two lines which its called
ro.remixos.box=false
ro.no_wallpaper=false
if you dont want to use RMXTools on the 64bit version use the Systemless root from the first link i ve redirected.
32bit version is not available yet so i ve used this remixOS 32bit build
http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/remix-os-pc-hacked-edition-ota-v2-0-201-t3345968/
> ro.no_wallpaper=false at my 32bit remix os wont appear at my build.prop (remixOS 32bit hacked version), you have to add this line to enable live wall paper feature.
>ro.remixos.box will appear as =true, change it to =false, it opens experimental features from past remixOS
Please refer from the first link i ve posted. That guy will help you a lot, but requires massive editing your operative system.
edited init.rd grants the system.img mounts as rw
its CRITICALLY recommended to backup your init.rd to your computer (to avoid kernel panics)
Once you are done editing those two lines, replace it back to your stock kernel.
thanks.
It will appear like this on your stock build.prop
change it as false on both
Update: The newest update from RemixOS version 2.0.202, doesn't need to edit the build.prop anymore. It comes without ro.no_wallpaper. So install that app directly from playstore and you will have live wallpaper shortcut app without modding the whole RemixOS thing.
Thanks Jide for making my life easier.

[E2303] Unroot without full firmware flashing - possible?

Hi.
I'm fighting for some time with the Sony E2303 (Xperia M4 Aqua) where the manufacturer has applied (horror of horrors!) only 8GB of memory...
Unfortunately for the user is available less than 2GB which is absurd nowadays!
I tried to use Adaptive storage on my micro sd card but 1) apps run very slowly (facebook) and 2) few apps can be moved like this.
To get each MB of memory I reflect on the performance of the root to remove the software preinstalled by Sony. It is not even branded to the operator because the soft installed is Central Europe.
It's about removing applications that do not use, and which occupy a lot of space (the effect of AR, spotify, playstation, etc). Root would allow me I think to uninstall such software.
However, after uninstalling the applications I would go back to the situation before the root account by doing unroot.
I think the root of this model is mainly based on the change the recovery. Is it possible to return to the stock recovery without full flashing?
Thanks in advance,
BR, Michael.
No, I am afraid that's not possible. There's no way to do it without having to flash the firmware. However, try using the Xperia Companoin or move to sd card feature to make a backup.

You can unroot by flashing stock boot.img, but TWRP will stay there. So you would only lose SuperSU.
And if u use Sony Companion, make sure to relock bootloader before repairing software or you may brick your device.

Hi.
Thanks for interest.
This option is ON as debugging USB.
I tried with the manual from Sony but still I can't execute this command
Case solved.
I reflash the phone using flashtool and Central Europe 1 firmware.
After that I could execute the command oem unlock but only without "-i 0x0fce".
All done.
Thanks.

it would be easier for everyone if you made the backup option in the installer.
also, it doesn't install. says that files are not found.
this seems like a great mod but i would like to know if this will work on kirisakura kernel , i don't want to revert to stock kernel just to ejoy this mod while losing out better functionality of the kernel than stock.
applets not found and no such file or directory...
how fix it?
After installation, I get update notification in Magisk. Can I make update
